Microsoft Access 2003 Developer Extensions - Where to find them?

Q: Microsoft Access 2003 Developer Extensions - Where to find them?

Hello again,

I found out that these extensions are supposed to make it where I can export my access databases as .exe files. This would be great, since then I could just have a .exe for ones in the office to run, so that no one could edit forms, tables, etc.

Now, I googled it, and got this site. I can't seem to find where to actually download it however.

Is this a good fix for what I am wanting to do? This way, everyone in the office wouldn't have to have access, they could just run the .exe, and that would allow them to use the forms just as they would if they had the database itself.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Preferred Solution: Microsoft Access 2003 Developer Extensions - Where to find them?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey everybody

I've been trying to figure this out for a while, but just can't seem to get it to work right.

I have the Microsoft Office Access 2003 Developer Extensions, which has a packaging wizard, that is used to package up a Access database and include a runtime environment, so users without access on their computer can use a database.

I have access on the computer in my office, so I take the file I want to package, and run the wizard, creating a setup file for the database and runtime. Now, I go over to the server, run the setup program, and have it installed on the server.

I can run the database on the server fine. I open it up, it runs in runtime mode, just as the package wizard said it should, and I can do whatever I want. The problem I am having is, I try to create a share, so that I can share this program with users on the network.

When I do this, it just doesn't work right. It is saying that it can't find the file "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\ifg_agent_database\ifg_agents_modified_10_13_05.mdb"

Any ideas on what is going on?

Is there anybody who has used Access 2003 Developer Extensions? Is it a tool which can pack an Access 2003 application. Could the packed application run stand-alone (no need to have Access 2003 installed)?

A:Access 2003 Developer Extensions

My Access 2000 book says that the Microsoft Office Development Tools (ODT) do what you have asked about and is the only way to do it, so the later 2003 should do it as well.

Dear Sirs,
I wanted to get more info about the Microsoft Security Updates API, so I'm having a look at the Guidance tab on this page https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en-us/
When I click on the "developer" tab I get redirected to the Sign In page - however, upon selecting my profile, I get redirected back to the Guidance tab on Security Updates page https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en-us/. and
I am stuck in this loop. This happens both with the old and the new Sign In experience. No way to access the developer info.

Hello all,
I am having an issue accessing the Developer API access page within the Microsoft Security Response Center website (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/msrc). When I click on Customer Guidance > Developer API access, or navigate to https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en-us/developer,
my browser first asks me to sign in and click which account I would like to use. I click my desired account, and it briefly redirects to the Microsoft Developer API Access page, but then after a split-second it redirects me back to the sign-in page. Is it
a requirement to have a specific type of email associated with the Microsoft account in order to get past this?

Thank you for your help!

Our computer crashed about 2 weeks ago, but was fixed promptly by a local guy. Now Office is still in the Program files and accessible. The guy reinstalled windows as he maintains all files on it were corrupt, though we managed to find all our documents and files with Restorer2000 Pro, and most programs are still there and accessible, though some will not operate like Office isn't. But to the story again. I can open word, publisher, excel etc for about 5 seconds, then a dialogue box comes up saying "Microsoft Office Word has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install the application". Now, this happens for all users. We do not have the box or CD because we are trying to get it back off the guy who built our new computer after our cat did its business on the computer and shorted it out...(damned animal should be gotten rid of) but they are saying they don't have our copy and didn't keep records of our Product keys. Though I was told that the key is contained in a certain part of the computer and can be retrieved. I just tried
CDKeyExtractor and ProduKey and it can only get our windows key as Office is not recognised as installed. Could someone help. This is not a pirate copy, I bought it at a student discount as I am at Uni and just need Office working again cos OpenOffice is driving me insane.

Hi All

Thanks for your help

I have a nominated start date that will be different for different sheets.
I have tables with the same date as the nominated start date.
I'm trying to put a macro together that will grab the nominated start date and then go the Data1 table and find the same date.
Once i have this date I want to be able to go to any column and then sum the data up to the top of the table.

Can someone tell me if I am on the right track or can you see a better way of doing the above. I have attached a sheet with a few macros to try and do this, but just not getting there. Below is one that looked promising, but I don't fully understand the commands.

Sub SumData()
'Find the same date and then sum the data in any column I choose to the top of the table

Dim Mth As Variant
With WorkhsheetFunction
Mth = Cells.Find(What:="Start Date:").Offset(0, 1).Value
X = Application.Match("Data1", Range("A1:A500"), 0)
Y = Application.Match("Mth", Cells(X, 1).Resize(1), 0)
Cells((X + Y) 0,2).Offset(, 1).Resize(, 1).Select
End With
End Sub

Hi Guys,

I am stuck with creating a Customer ID on Microsoft Access 2003, the Customer ID must consist of the first 3 letters of the surname followed by a four digit number.

I am entering the data into an introductory form which has 4 fields

First Name
Address Line 1

which will lead onto a confirmation form where the customerID will be displayed.

Can anyone tell me how I can create this sort of Customer ID that requires the first 3 letters of the surname followed by a four digit number?

You can create your own unique primary key, using DMax, called in the BeforeInsert event for the Form: Private Sub Form_BeforeInsert(Cancel As Integer)

Access is wonderful, but only when you get it to do what you want

I have a group of records with different dates of births.
I have then grouped these into age ranges, such as

I would then like to pass them into a piechart. How ever, when I try this access will only allow me to use one of the fields to poplulate the Pie Chart.

Doing it without the age ranges will give many segments. I want to narrow this down with groups.

Any ideas, I seem to be stuck.

Here is a what the query looks like:

Sum(IIf([age]<16,1,0)) AS [Younger than 16],
Sum(IIf([age]>=16 And [age]<18,1,0)) AS [16 to 18],
Sum(IIf([age]>=18 And [age]<21,1,0)) AS [18 to 21],
Sum(IIf([age]>=21 And [age]<26,1,0)) AS [21 to 26],
Sum(IIf([age]>=26 And [age]<45,1,0)) AS [26 to 45],
Sum(IIf([age]>=45,1,0)) AS [45 or older] FROM tblRIDER;

As you see many fields, access uses one.
Any Ideas on this?
I think that what I need to do is to put the groups titles into one field of a table and then the counts of those in the cat. into another.
This works. Though I don't know how to do it.

I have an Access database that has excel files imported into it. The database was designed to make it simple for users by having a graphical Import button that users click on and the database automatically pulls the correct files. This has been working fine on most systems. I have one system running Windows XP where I am having difficulty with this function. Everytime I click on the Import button I get the following error message

"Runtime error '91' : Object Variable or With block not set"

and then it gives me the option to cancel or Debug. When I look at Debug it takes me to the Visual Basic Editior and has an entry highlighted. I then went to another machine this feature worked on and brought up its Visual Basic editior and looked at the contents and everything looked the same. I am unfamiliar with making changes in this context, but was curious as to whether anyone had seen this before and if there was a fairly easy way of solving it?

As always, thanks!

Ok for office 2003, the programs are located

Start - All Programs - Microsoft Office.

Then there is inside the folder...

Microsoft Office Tools (Folder) which opens to other stuff.
Microsoft Office Excel 2003
Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003
Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003
Microsoft Office Publisher 2003
Microsoft Office Word 2003
Microsoft Office Outlook 2003

And Microsoft Office Access 2003 is supposed to be in there well it ain't because i dragged it to my desktop hoping it would have created a shortcut but instead moving the whole thing to my desktop instead. If i would have just right clicked it and selected "Send To Desktop (Create Shortcut)" would have been fine.

So, i tried to drag it back to where it was originally but it won't go in, there is no "X" or anything saying it won't go there just the little symbol that says it can go there but it won't go there. It will drag to the Start Menu that's it.

I know i can just run the "Rapair" wizzard in Office but i though you could drag it there.

ANy reason on why it won't?

Two of the columns in a form that I have created in Microsoft Access include:

Date Due
Days Required (this is a calculated field based on other information in the form)

Provided the above fields are known, I want a "Start Date" field to figure out when I should start the project. In excel, the function would be =WORKDAY(Date Due, Days Required), however I do not know how to work this for Access.

Any suggestions?

A:Workday function in Microsoft Access 2003

I notice that the Excel Wordays function has the facility to include Holidays, if you do not need this in Access then it is simply -
[Date Due] - [Days Required]
if you need more help on this please either post or email me a zipped copy of the database.
This calculation can be done in a Query or on a form, but the form may require visual basic to make it work properly.

A:loading bars in microsoft access 2003

what ur sayin is called a splash screen btw
firstly you have 2 design it as a form
then right-click and set properties to remove scroll bars, record selector etc
set the border style to DIALOG and save as splashscreen(or whatever u wanna call it)

in form view click; window, size to fit form then close the form.

click on macros and create new:
the first "action" is "close", the object type is form, the object name is splashscreen(or whatever u saved it as)

2nd action is "OPEN FORM" - your switchboard(form name)

save macro

load the splashscreen in design view and view the foorm properties, click the event tab and set the TimerInterval property to 4000(this is the equivalent to 4 seconds as it is in miliseconds)

click on the OnTimer property and select the macro. save the form

click tools, startup and make sure the "display form/page:" says splashscreen(or whatever u named it!)

I'm using Access 2003 on a Windows 7 machine. The database I've created tracks the purchase and sale of industrial equipment and the form that's giving me trouble is for creating/viewing quotes.

On the quote form I have a quote number field that automatically generates a new number each time a new quote is created. In the Default Value for the QuoteNumber field I have the following formula: =Nz(DMax("[QuoteNumber]","tblQuote"))+1

Generating the new number works great but the users want to be able to go back and find a record using the quote number field. In the criteria in the "qryQuote" query I have [Enter the quote number].

To control the whole mess I have a switchboard with one of the buttons being "Find quote by quote #". If I create a macro that does the search and opens the query it works. But when I add the command to the macro to open the quote form I get all records and I only want to see the one I've searched for.

This is probably way more information than necessary but - better too much than too little.

I'm fairly new to programming in Access so please be kind...

A:Solved: Access 2003 find using custom autonumber field

Theresa, welcome to the Forum.
The simplest way to do what you want is to add a Find Combo to the actual quote form, you don't need a button or query.
The Form design "Combo Wizard" will create the combo and associated VBa for you.
When the user types the quote number in to the combo it automatically shortens the list of quotes depending on what you type, or the user can use the drop down side bar to move up or down the list as required.

Otherwise you mayu need to upgrade to 2007 at home.

I hope this isn't a duplicate post. I "thought" I successfully posted it earlier today, but now I can find it anywhere. I searched for my posts, various words, etc w/o success.

I have 2 folders (with subfolders) containing almost exclusively image files. Their folder structures are identical. Folder-A's images are in multiple formats(tif,jpg,jpeg,psd,png,pdf,etc). There may even be a few doc,xls,exe files. Folder-B's images are all jpg. I would like to identify all the files in Folder-A for which there is no matching JPG in Folder-B.

In other words, comparing folder/subfolder/.../filename (but EXCLUDING the extension). Note, path down thru the subfolders also should be compared.

In other words (again), show each file (even non-image files) which does not have a matching jpg in the same subfolder.

Folder-A/subfolder1/subfolder2/file1.TIF....MATCHES....Folder-B/subfolder1/subfolder2/file1.JPG and would NOT be selected.

Folder-A/subfolder1/subfolder2/file2.DOC would PROBABLY NOT find a match in Folder-B/subfolder1/subfolder2/ and WOULD be selected.

A:How to find NON-MATCHING filenames (w/o extensions)

I guess my first thought is the way that many programs that search for duplicates have changeable options. Many allow thorough checks of hashes to make sure 2 files are exactly the same, but generally also have some looser criteria for speeding things up when there are a lot of files to process. Many have the option to compare directories and find identical file names. Most, I would imagine, include the file type as part of the name, but I wouldn't be surprised if some did not and you could use something like that to find the dupes.

Some programs also have the option to move the duplicates to another location rather than just delete them, so even if temporary, that would give you a way of sorting them.

Dupe-finding apps are common on freeware sites.

CLOUDY FILE GULPER Dropbox has come under fire from tech savvy chaps who are not happy about the company gaining access to a PC or Mac's operating system kernel.
Dropbox's Project Infinite is aimed at moving the service beyond being just a browser-based interface and integrating it more tightly with an OS so that files can be plonked into cloud storage in a more seamless way.
Dropbox also wants this deeper integration with a computer’s operating system and local file storage to prevent what it calls the "untrained intern problem".
This means that Dropbox wants to stop an inexperienced employee removing files from a shared Dropbox folder and screwing up the cloud synchronisation and file access for everyone.

Hello All,

Just recently my company purchased Office 2000 Developer Edition because they were in need of purchasing the Access Runtime Library, to distribute their Access Databases.

However as of yet, I have been unable to use the Access 2000 Runtime Development Tools to distribute these databases due me not understanding the process clearly (previously in Access 97 it was a case of install the program and away you went, now I haven't got a clue where to start as we weren't given any software manuals).

An urgent response would be appreciated

Many Thanks In Advance

A:Office Developer/Access 2000 Runtime

Office includes quite alot of information in its 'Help' files. If you can't find what you're looking for there you might be able to find more in-depth Office Developer information in the MSDN Library.
Office 2000 - Developer

There are also several books that you can acquire. Check Fatbrain.com or Que Publishing. You will be able to find titles for MS Office and Access development.

Dear forum readers,

I have a problem when trying to install:

Windows 8 Developer Preview with developer tools English, 64-bit (x64)

When using the DVD tool from Microsoft as explained in one of the tutorials in this forum,
I receive the following error message:

The disc does not have sufficient free space.

I use a 4.7GB DVD disc, and the size of the Windows 8 Developer Preview with tools English, 64-bit (x64) iso file
size is: 4.83 GB.

Of-course this is the source of my problem, and i need a way to fix it.

What i am doing currently, is downloading the Windows 8 Developer Preview without tools.

I have read some solutions, but they did not offer what i am looking for.

I need a way to install the complete version with developer tools, including:

64-bit Windows 8 Developer Preview
Windows SDK for Metro style apps
Microsoft Visual Studio 11 Express for Windows 8 Developer Preview
Microsoft Expression Blend 5 Developer Preview
28 Metro style apps including the BUILD Conference app

I only have a normal DVD drive, no USB stick of the required size, but I have a second hard-disk with sufficient space.
AND I have an external USB hard-disk with sufficient space.

Tried to install from local hard-disk in Windows 7 by using the setup.exe in the sources directory, gives me the following error:
To install Windows, make sure that the partition on your bootdisk has at least 1243 Megabytes (MB) of free space.

I think i will buy a USB stick with enough capacity, but if someone has a quick fix, it would be very welcome!

Best regards,

Don't make that USB purchase yet.

Can you screen shot your disk management and we'll try and sust it out for you.
