Outlook 365/2016: Stationery Default

Q: Outlook 365/2016: Stationery Default

OK, normally I can figure this out but this one has me stumped. I would rather avoid removing/reinstalling Office for something that should be an easy fix.

So my user somehow has ended up with an issue with the default stationery. It has made most the text with strike through:

Note that the box behind does not show the strike through with the sample text, but when I go to select a theme, it shows the No Theme with the strike through and when I get out of that box, the sample text ends up with the strike through.

I did go through each section to ensure that the Sample Text does not have any strike through effects but it does not stick, or show the changes.

Is there another section other than File > Options > Mail > Stationery and Fonts that I can change the No Theme settings?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

1. Go to all the appdata folders and delete the outlook stuff.

2. Control Panel, mail, remove profile (nothing there)

3. In outlook, remove profile from there won't work.

Can I please get some other ideas please? Is there something in the registry I need to remove?

I'm going insane, and just spent 35 minutes in chat w/MS, to no avail. I am on a clean install of Win10, with a new install of Office 365 with Outlook. Earlier today, a MS tech remotely set up my 3 Outlook accounts. Then she tried to import merge data from my .pst backups. Had problems...something to do with POP and IMAP and other things I don't understand. She ended up adding my external back-up drive as another data source, so I have two XXXX's Folder structures in my new email account. One from My PC and one from the back-up drive. I have been manually copying stuff from the backup folders to the new folders. It's a real pain, but it's working...and I have my data.

My (what I thought was SIMPLE) question was this: In the "new account" data (allegedly NOT from backup drive), I have, for instance, a Trash folder, a Junk folder, a Junk Mail folder and a Junk Email folder. I also have Sent, Sent Items and Sent Mail . All I want to know is what are the default folder names for this version. I'm sure that somewhere, that I can't find, is something that says that the "former Junk folder is now named Trash" or something like that. I just want to get rid of the multiple folders. Is that too much to ask?

Hi

I have the Outlook 2007 beta and it has broken my stationery. It worked with Outlook 2003 and even Outlook Express. Now along comes 2007 and it does not work.

My stationery contains the following HTML:
my stationery

<DIV id=Layer1 style="Z-INDEX: 1; LEFT: 44px; WIDTH: 405px; POSITION: absolute; TOP: 9px; HEIGHT: 142px">My logo, etc is here</DIV>Click to expand...
This displays above the e-mail which has a top border of 190px.

Outlook 2007 displays the contents of the div tag below my e-mail text, when the html clearly states where I want it: above the e-mail text.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Murray

Hello, currently we're using Outlook 2007 and I have a question about their stationery/themes. I noticed that when I use stationery themes that it looks good going out, but when I get a reply, there is a varying amount of space being taken up by the graphic being used as the stationery. It's like the stationery background is showing up, but there's also a picture of it at the beginning of the reply. Is there a way to either get rid of that or make it smaller?

I wish I could explain this better, thank you for any advice or help. It could be that's just the way it is and I'll just need to deal with it if I want stationery.

If you haven't changed the settings, you can't have stationery. But bear in mind that these were changed by MS for security issues, read their articles for more information.

OE->Tools->Options
1) Security Tab.
Check "Internet Zone."
2) Uncheck "Block images and other external content in HTML email."
3) Read Tab
Uncheck "Read all messages in plain text."
If you don't do this you will not see any images or stationery in email. So
this step is simple but it's very important!
4) Check "HTML" under the heading "Mail Sending Format"

Quoting Microsoft:

Sounds like you mean a HTML homepage. ?

In Outlook Express :

Using HTML formatting
When you create messages using HTML formatting, only mail programs that support HTML can read the formatting. If the recipient's mail or newsreading program does not read HTML, the message is displayed as plain text with an HTML file attached.

To use HTML formatting on all outgoing messages....................
In the main window, click the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Send tab.

In the Mail Sending Format or News Sending Format sections, click HTML.

To use HTML formatting on an individual message

In an e-mail message window, make sure HTML formatting is turned on by clicking the Format menu. HTML formatting is turned on when a black dot appears by Rich Text (HTML).
Notes
To edit the HTML source tags, click the View menu and make sure a check mark appears next to Source Edit. Then, select the Source tab and start editing.

To set up Outlook Express so that your message replies are sent in a format that the originator's mail or newsreading program can read, in the main window, click the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Send tab. Check the Reply to messages using the format in which they were sent check box.

As a matter of fact the "paint" program that comes with Windows isn't the best... but it is free.

I have used my picture to my sister in Texas in my letters to her, and I have tried to use cloudeight stationery to a friend from high school using a tiger that growls with a background color that comes with the stationery.....(the tiger was our mascot)...anyhow , when I check my sent messages it is there, and as I am typing my letter on the different stationery, that I have made it is there...but on the receiving end...all they see are my words....am I beyond help? I hope not... I have no one to ask about this...would appreciate an answer... thanks...sherri

In Outlook Express....go to TOOLS...OPTIONS....COMPOSE tab.....click on CREATE NEW....and the stationary wizard will step you through a bunch of options like repeating the picture ( tiling ).
Or you can put a picture in the corner of a blank white page in a graphics program and save it...then use that for the stationary picture ( don't tile it )....
If you play around with the stationary wizard it will make sense, eventually.

According to all sources that I could find on-line, it appears that rules are part of pst file.

However, this does not happening in my case.

I use outlook 2016 (part of MS office 2016) and have several accounts linked with this ? From my ISP (POP), Hotmail, yahoo, Gmail. I have rules only for account from my ISP.

Recently I deleted my Hotmail account, removed it from my outlook, deleted associated ost file. Then I had second thought and re-activated this hotmal account the following day. Added this to my outlook. To my surprise all rules vanished. Not a single rule remained. I did NOT have any rules setup for Hotmail account. Even column details for message folders (part of setting) got changed.

I decided to check further. Copied my pst files to another computer which had same version of outlook installed and has exactly the same setup.

Now I added some rules on my 1st computer. Checked the 2nd computer. The same rule appeared there. That means pst file does not contain rules.

So, Where are they?

Hope someone can help me. I am lost!!
Thanks

Hi there,

I have run into a huge problem. A client of mine wants to have a header and a footer that he can use as stationery through outlook. I have the 2 images designed already but am unsure how to set this up for him. Basically, he wants the header at the top (with html) then a space and a footer at the bottom. These images must also be able to resize themselves in accordance with the users screen etc. (If that makes any sense).

If ANYONE can help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Have been searching the net all morning with no luck.

Sam.

A:Solved: Create New Stationery in Outlook 2007

Ay carumba. Don't you love assignments like this?

Welcome to the forum Sam.

If it were me, I'd create an HTML table with a row for the header, a row for the client to type in, and a row for the footer. That should be relatively simple to do and will give him an expanding amount of space to type, as opposed to guessing how much room he might need.

But for the image resizing? I'm sure there are others who know better than me, but I'm not sure you can get there from here. Unless these are emails he's only sending internally, it's impossible to know what email client the users will use - they may not even SEE the picture based on how they have their settings configured. And that doesn't even begin to address people who just get their messages through their online email or on their phones. And Outlook 2007 completely changed the way Office used to deal with HTML and CSS, so that's fun too. In the HTML emails I've created, the images don't resize so if the window is too small you get a scroll bar. I'm ok with that, but if your client isn't, maybe you can send him this article. If nothing else, it might make him understand that it's not as easy as it seems like it should be. Good luck!

I researched all over the forums to find out how I could continue to make my own Outlook stationery after my school district adopted Windows 7 for us all. It didn't seem quite as easy as with XP but I knocked it around until I thought it was working. That is, until people I sent message to complained that they were nearly unreadable. I use picture backgrounds for my "form" messages, and they all looked great when I sent them out. When received, however, it seems the picture didn't just stay in the background, but also inserted one copy above any text I had written. Furthermore, this extra image refuses to be deleted, moved or even re-sized. I really don't want to resort to the "same-old" solid (or NO) backgrounds everyone else seems to settle for. People have come to expect more from me. Please Help

Hi all,

I'm tasked with updating our email stationery with a nice new design.
Now we all know MS Office sucks the fat one when it comes to DTP, so i use the Adobe Creative Suite.
Problem is, i don't know how to convert my design from InDesign into an htnl document, which is seemingly the only filetype that email stationery or signatures can be saved in. I have no idea how to use Go Live either.
The other problem is that i need our email and web addresses to be hyperlinks in the sig. so i can't just save it as a jpeg and paste it into word then save that as html, import it into the sig and bingo!

Any suggestions please?
I have over 50 personalised ones to do, so i'm really looking for an easy workaround for this.

Many thanks

A:Access 2003 VBA - SendMail with Outlook Stationery

I'm kinda confused by what you are asking. If you are wanting to use VBA to send an email that is pre-formatted you can simple create your email manually and then save it as a template file (.otf) You can then use the Application.CreateItemFromTemplate method to call the template file to be sent using VBA
Code:
Sub OpenTemplate()
Set myMail = Application.CreateItemFromTemplate("C:\TestTemplate.oft")
myMail.Display
' Misc Code
myMail.Send
Set myMail = Nothing
End Sub

If this is not what you are looking to do please explain in detail what you are trying to accomplish.

This should help:
Create stationery for email messages - Outlook - Office.com

Quote:
Stationery and themes are a set of unified design elements and color schemes. They specify fonts, bullets, background color, horizontal lines, images, and other design elements that you want to include in outgoing email messages.
Microsoft Outlook 2010 includes a large selection of stationery. You also can design your own custom stationery. For example, you can include a company logo or design that matches your organization?s style guidelines.
To create custom stationery, do the following:
Create a new message.
You can discard the message after these steps are complete.
Customize the message with fonts, bullets, a background color, horizontal lines, images, and other design elements that you want to include.
In the message window, click the File tab.
Click Save As.
In the Save As dialog box address bar, enter %appdata%\microsoft\stationery, and then press Enter.

The Stationery folder opens.
In the File name box, enter a name for your new stationery.
In the Save as type list, click HTML.
Click Save.

Dear Spice & I have Outlook.com accounts (both updated), with calendars shared with each other on Outlook.com (co-owner access level).

We can update each other's calendar directly on Outlook.com and in W10 Calendar. However, despite being configured as Exchange ActiveSync accounts, Outlook 2016 (and Outlook for Android) will only allow view-only access!

O16 is saying that "You do not have authorization to make changes to this folder."

This seems to require direct access to an Exchange server to change the folder configuration, for an EAS connection.

If Outlook.com is an Outlook 365 service running EAS, how can we tell Outlook 2016 to permit the full sharing access as authorized on Outlook Calendar.com?

This is probably affecting a lot of personal users who can't afford the infrastructure to run their own Exchange servers, just to share calendars.

(We are some of the refugees from Windows Live Mail, orphaned by the Outlook 365 conversion. That's why we're trying both O16 and Outlook for Android -- our eventual goal is to enable updating each other's calendars from our Android phones.)

For example, I deleted out my junk on Outlook, and it would not reflect that change, but I was still getting new emails into my Outlook.

I tried a couple of things, then removed my msn.com email, and restarted. When I tried to reconnect back to my email, (add email) it would always restart office outlook. Has done this every single day, though I can retrieve and do everything from my apple products or through the online Outlook (aka outlook live). But since I have tons of windows open, I don't need to try to keep track of my email when outlook did this. (the office products)

To make it more interesting, my Gmail accounts are still all linked and working through the office outlook. (it's sad when google is working better than their Microsoft's own email system!) I have restarted, repaired and done everything, even checked my privacy settings which are all set up correctly.

Has anyone else had these issues, and can help me?

I know how I'm supposed to do it, SETTINGS==>DEFAULT APPS==>CHOOSE THE DEFAULT APP BY FILE TYPE, but Excel 2016 is not an option. Instead, it tries to send me to the App Store. I think I have tried everything except reinstalling Office.

A:How to make Excel 2016 the default app to open xls and xlsx data files

Use Control panel, default programs, associate a file type - you have more options to select version.

If your 2016 is the desktop version, you have to bury into menus by clicking more apps and scrolling until you find "look for another app on this pc", and then navigate to the 2016 excel executable.

I have 6 months trial license all of them. Which one do you recommend?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards.

Heyye.

A:Avast IS 2016 / Panda IS 2016 / Bitdefender IS 2016

What kind of system do you have?
Panda and Avast are the lightest while Bitdefender can be heavy.

All 3 offer excellent protection (Avast requires tweaking; Bitdefender and Panda works out of the box), while Bitdefender is mainly known for its detection rate (signatures).

Try the 3 of them (trial versions, not the 6 months) and see which one you prefer.

In terms of UI, all 3 are user friendly.

Have a look here for Avast and Bitdefender info:

This problem has plagued be for a while but I am just now getting around to trying to solve it.

Outlook 2016 Win7.

When I receive some emails, mostly from advertisements from such as but not limited to Amazon, there are white boxes containing little red x's instead of pictures. This does not happen when I read them on my Iphone or Ipad. There the pictures appear but never in either of my two Win machines. Not only do the x's appear in Outlook but also in Cox's webmail.

I have applied the registry adjustment described in KB 2779191 but that did not correct the problem. Here is the patch:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\x.0\Outlook\Options\Mail
DWORD: Send Pictures With Document
Value: 1

This doesn't bother me too much for I am seldom interested in such emails but I find them very annoying.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.
