I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Thee quick answer is "no". Liquids are not good for electronics, and the worst liquids are soda and coffee

I spilled soda on my Yoga 2 Pro keyboard. I turned it upside down and drained it all out, and I wiped it with a damp cloth, but now some of the keys are sluggish and some click. Everything seems to work except for the sticky keys. Is there a way to clean the keys inside?

I have Lenovo Yoga 910. It's a couple years old. Suddenly I experienced lagging with the keyboard. Every button must be pushed at least a couple of seconds to appear or response. Some buttons are worst than the others. I called Lenovo and was advised to try to do hard reset by pressing down the power button for 45 seconds followed by pressing the Nuvo button but that didn't work. The problem was still happening. It's not windows upgrade related because this issue was also happening in BIOS when clicking on the arrow buttons and pgup/down buttons. I also tested it in Safe mode and it's still lagging. I even tried restoring the original windows version that came from Lenovo and still didn't work. After researching on the net, some were saying to unplug the battery cable and plug back in to solve the issue. So i did that, I unplug the battery cable but NOW....I have a different problem, worst than before.Pressing the power button doesn't do anything, the laptop doesn't start up. When i plugged in the charger, orange light next to it is blinking. According to Lenovo manual that this means the battery is under 20% but I left it charged overnight and it's still the same (orange light blinking). Also pressing the power button still doesn't do anything. But i noticed if i keep on pressing the power button, it will blink white lights every 20 seconds or so.The battery was in good condition because I did Lenovo diagnostic before I unplug the battery cable so I don't think this is batter... Hi, my last post, was about my tower having soda spilled into it... Not a very fun dilemma, but I've ordered a new motherboard, same model and brand, and since the soda went down through the fan, and mostly hit the graphics card (from what I know), I'm planning on getting a new graphics card unless I can find a way to fix the one that I have now which got the soda spilt onto it, which I'm sure is dead. The thing I'm worried about right now is if the soda hit the processor fan and into the processor... Here's a couple photos..
This picture is the direction in which the soda hit the graphics card (the processor is near the graphics card):http://puu.sh/5fSFU.JPG
Here's an above view of the processor: http://puu.sh/5fSHB.JPG
And here's the view in which the soda spilt into: http://puu.sh/5fSIT.JPG
So my question is, is there anyway that if the soda hit the processor fan, the processor was hit by the soda and is damaged? If so, is there any way of recovering the processor or am I going to have to buy a new one?

This is actually concerning your other computer, obviously. Please continue in that thread. Theres no need to open multiple threads for the same issue. it can cause cluttering of the forums and is not allowed.

The other day I decided to turn my envy off for the first time in roughly a week. I usually just leave it on, plugged into the charger, putting it into sleep mode when im not using it. For some reason, ever since then I have not been able to turn it back on. Whenever I press the power button, The power light blinks. The pattern is a single short blink every 3-5 seconds. This continues until I take the battery out. Sometimes, if I leave it be for a day or so, I am able to get the computer to turn on, but It will not boot. I can hear the fan going, see the lights turn on as they are supposed to, however the screen remains black. I am under the impression that this either a hardware issue, or the CPU is just toast. either of which would suck. Normally I would take to a computer shop and have them look at it, but right now I'm serving in Iraq, so im SOL. And yes, I have tried everything under the sun to get it running. I have taken the battery out and left it out for an extended period, tried turning it on with and without the ac adapter plugged in, tried to perform a hard reset, and a combination of all of them.

Hi everyone, I need your help urgently!

I have sony Vaio laptop which has been working well. Recently its charger had a minor explosion and broke (it happened when I plug it in to the outlet as usual). So I replaced it with a new one. However, the light on the new charger was blinking whenever I plug it into the laptop and turned solid again when I unplug it.

Could you please help me fix this? All my assignments and works are in this laptop and I need it very soon.

Thank you

Ps. I have tried removing the battery and it still doesn't work. Also I won't be able to try another charger.

I'm sorry to say but sounds to me like something got fried and that it might never start again. Even tho I can't say for sure without seeing the machine. Anyways, I would recommend to wait and see if some one else would have something smart to come up with on what and how to do.

I have an HP desktop. I accidentally hit the standby button on the keyboard. It started to put my computer into standby but seems to have completely powered it down. I couldn't turn it back on at all. I've tried hitting the power button and unplugging the computer. Nothing works. There is a green light near the power cord in the back blinking and that's it. I've tried unplugging all peripherals before plugging the power back in. I've also tried unplugging it and pressing the power button a few times before plugging it back in. Perhaps this has been discussed elsewhere in the forum, but the threads were written rather inscrutably and so I'll state my problem here and hope to receive some feedback.I have a two-month old Yoga 900. Tonight it would not wake up after I put it to sleep. The power light on the side blinked, but no amount of holding it would wake the thing. Also, the machine was plugged in whilst I tried to jostle it from slumber.I googled a solution which, thankfully, worked. Which was: unplug the thing, depress the power button for 10 secs., then plug in power cord and boot again. Aha, this magic trick worked. Nonetheless I feel compelled to ask WHAT KIND OF CRUMMY PC HAVE I BOUGHT THAT GOES INTO HIBERATION LIKE THIS??? And how can I avoid it from happening again. Never had an episode like this with any Dell, Samsung or Mac. Just this jolly two month old Lenovo which I thought was a decent machine until now.Feedback appreciated.

We got a Compaq Presario S6500NX from a friend who had upgraded to another computer and we can't get it to work. It ran fine before he brought it to us, however, once we got it here and tried to power it up it wouldn't start at all.

On the power supply in the back the green light blinks and clicks rapidly when the cord is plugged in, and pressing the power button does nothing at all.

Interestingly, a few minutes ago I took it out of storage, (we got the computer months ago and gave up when we couldn't get it running) plugged it in by itself and it powered up just fine, the fan turned on and everything! So I opened it up and cleaned out some of the dust (I didn't have it plugged into a monitor or anything, I just wanted to see if it was still doing the same thing it had months ago) and, lo and behold, when I tried to turn it on again with everything plugged in, I got the blinking/clicking green light and no power up.

What could be the problem here? I know the whole thing isn't totally shot because it DID power up just fine a few minutes ago. But now we're back to the blinking clicking light (instead of the steady green glow that usually happens when the power supply cord is plugged in). It leads me to believe that something's loose, but I don't dare mess with the power supply box unless I know what I'm doing...

Another question is, if the power supply isn't fixable, would it be possible to replace it with the power supply ... Read more

Hi all,
I got my new XPS 15 9550 2 days ago. Everything went fine at first but tonight when coming back home the laptop won't turn on. I tried the following (both with AC adaptor plugged in or not)
If I press power button the battery status lights blinks 4 times white and é times orange repeatedly.
I tried pressing power button for one minute - nothing.
Pressing Fn key and power button - then the keyboard lights turn on  for about 5 seconds then turn off, and same blinking of the battery status lights as described above.
Any idea what to do ? Dell technical support doesn't seem to work on week end...
Thanks

Hello World.   I'm not able to power up a Yoga Ideapad 15.  When I press the power button, its led starts blinking, in synchonicity with the power light indicator, making a short blink every almost 5 seconds.   I've dissasemblied it. This issue repeats every 5 seconds, same time as the laptop blinks.  I've tried common steps (like keeping the power button pressed with no battery and no charger). So, if anyone has a possible solution, I'll appreciate your help. Thanks a lot!

I have a ThinkPad Yoga (Type 20CD) that recently began experiencing a major issue. I was using as usual when it gave me the windows 10 blue screen and told me it was restarting. Upon restarting, it was only able to launch to the boot manager, and when I tried to start normally, it noted that my Hard Drive was not found. I figured it was a seating issue, as I've had those before with the cables for the trackpad, so I opened the bottom and reseated the drive. After doing so, the computer will not power back on. When I press the power button, the ThinkPad logo light comes on for around 3-4 seconds, but then dies. No other sound is made, the fans do not come on, and nothing is displayed on screen. I have tried several suggested fixes (holding the power button for 30 seconds while disconnected from AC power, pressing the emergency reset button, etc) but to no avail. Since this is my primary computer for work and school, I am really looking to get this fixed asap, so any solutions I can do myself would be appreciated.

Hello out there, I wanted to do a fresh post about this issue as I see that no one has resolved it yet. My Lenovo Thinkpad 12's f1 key has an indicator light that is supposed to turn on or off depending on if it is muted or not. Immediately, I use Thinkpad Yoga 260 and now have a problem when it is turned off, then the next day my laptop turns on it doesn't want to turn on again. I pressed the power button, it just turned on the keyboard light for a while then died without having time to enter bios especially into Windows (the screen didn't have time to turn on). All indicator lights are on. Some of what I did;1. Press the reset button. This once managed to make my laptop turn on again, but then it had no effect.2. Also i update all software and Bios, but still forced same problem, then,3. I disassemble the laptop, pull out some connectors such as batteries, keyboards, and more. Some of these steps succeeded, until finally the problem arose and I went to the laptop service in my city.4. My laptop doesn't turn on anymore. Here is what I have to do to turn it on (I tried many sequence of steps, but this is the only one that works every time):-Disconnect battery and CMOS battery-Press power button ten times, then press and hold for 30 seconds-Connect power adaptor and press power button At this point, my laptop turns on, but I have to reset my time and date in BIOS (of course this is normal since I disconnected the CMOS batter). Once I turn my laptop on, my batter shows that it is charging and it is at 100%. I dual boot and both Ubuntu and Windows 8.1 show the batter charging at 100%.As soon as I unplug my AC adaptor, the laptop turns off again and I have to repeat the sequence above again to turn it on. This happens consistently. However, if I shutdown my laptop the right way without unplugging the AC adaptor at any point, it turns back on normally. This happens of both my Linux and Windows OS. What I've tried:-Uninstalling battery drivers and restarting my laptop-Updating to the latest power management drives from this Lenovo websiteI also read that some HP laptops have software issues that doesn't allow the laptop to switch from AC adaptor mode to battery mode. I believe this might be the issue I'm seeing, but I couldn't find a way to check this setting. I don't think this last detail is related, but when I shutdown Windows, I see a message saying:Closing 1 app and restartingAsusSGPLusBTServerThis app is preventing you f rom restartingAlo... It can also be interesting if you can share the full model number of your Thinkpad Yoga 14.

Regards

Hello and thank you in advance for any help I have bought a refurbished ThinkPad S1 Yoga 12 20DL and I love it so far. Unfortunately it does not turn on from time to time corretcly. When I start it, I can see the Lenovo logo but not loading circle appears and Windows does not start. On the other hand it sometimes starts smoothly and there is no problem at all. I had already run the uefi hardware tests with no error found. Dou you have any idea how to solve that? Thank You!

Hi. Tonight I had a problem with my laptop. It was in sleeping mode, and when I open the lid there were no mouse function and no touch screen function. So the only thing I could do was to press the power button for 3 seconds to turn it off, but it didn't completely, because the screen turn off, but the power button light is blinking just like when it is on sleep mode, and I'm not sure if the hard drive light was on, off or blinking before this, but now is blinking. I press the power button and nothing happen, I press it for 3 seconds and nothing happen. I even did the HDMI connection to another monitor, but both monitors don't show anything, not even recognize that something is connected to the HDMI port in the new monitor. There is no sound, nothing, just the 2 blinking lights. What should I do? Thanks PS: I'm not sure if it's Windows 10 32-bit or 64-bit. It was upgraded from Windows 8
