I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm looking to upgrade to an ac card to get better speed from my wifi. I currently have my eyes on the Intel 7260.HMWG.R Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 but I'm not entirely sure my device supports it. If it doesnt or there is a better performing option, any recommendations would be appreciated. As I understand it, some manufacturers also have whitelists built into the BIOS. I've also come across guides that say to ensure the new card has the same about of adapters as the old but I'm not entirely sure how to confirm this. Thanks,Senah

Hi everybody :
Can a Z370 RAM chip be used on a Z170 Motherboard ?
Thanks (in advance)................garystan

A:Z370 RAM

There is actually no such ting as a Z370 ram chip
Z370 is the Intel chipset
https://www.intel.co.uk/content/www/uk/en/products/chipsets/desktop-chipsets/z370.html

There is ram that is suitable for the board with the Z370 and whatever processor is installed

There is similarly ram that is suitable for the Z170 and whatever processor is used
The board manufacturers site will list on the QVL list ram tested with the board
You do not have to use THAT ram , as of course the manufacturer of the board can not test all ram

The ram in question may well be suitable - check with the ram manufacturer
Further information
https://www.extremetech.com/computi...-z370-motherboards-arent-backwards-compatible

It will not damage anything both use DDR4 whether or not it will work OK without having to enter ram setup in firmware, depends on speed chip configuration timings etc.

Hi everyone. I wanted to update the BIOS a few days ago, so I downloaded the 4ACN38WW64 update from the Lenovo website. The problem is that when I execute the "installer" it closed automatically without any further message. I checked the batch file (AutoRun64.bat) and I found that there are three different updates (I assume for three different structures/variants of the z370/z470), also a line which closes the program in case it doesn't find any matching device to complete the updating process. I would really appreciate if someone could help me.

Hi everyone, I'd like to introduce myself with my very first post in this community. So, I'd like to upgrade my Lenovo B590 (I know it's an old one ).Currently my specs are: - Intel Celeron 1005M 1,90GHz; 8 Gb DDR3 Ram (which i perfectly upgraded); 450 Gb HDD and Windows 10 - 64x and this mainboard Socket 988B rPGA (G2 if I am correct). Thanks to this forum an other posts like this one: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-B-and-G-Series-Notebooks/B590-Processor-Upgrade/td-p/1948989 I could figure out more like for e.g. which CPU's are compatible. So my question is I actually found on ebay an Intel Core i5 Mobile CPU Socket G2 PGA 988 with the following FRU 40W0492, but on the Lenovo Maintenance Manual the FRU of the i5 is completey different (102001067). So is my laptop with this CPU incompatible 100%? Aren't FRU numbers supposed to have 7 numbers with letters? Or am I wrong? Thank you in advance and sorry for my english I haven't talked it for 3 years or so.

I would try resetting the BIOS using the jumper, or by taking out the CMOS battery, wait a minute or two, and then replace it and try booting up. See page 73 of the Hardware Maintenance Manaul linked below for location of the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper (# 20) https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/thinkcentre_pdf/m83m93p_hmm.pdf Clearing the CMOS (BIOS)1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer. 2. Remove the computer cover. 3. Locate the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper on the system board. 4. Move the jumper from the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2) to the maintenance position (pin 2 and pin 3). 5. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. 6. Turn on the computer and leave it on for approximately 10 seconds. Then, turn off the computer by holding the power switch for approximately five seconds. 7. Repeat step 1 through step 2. 8. Move the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper back to the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2). 9. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. Good Luck,

A:Which power supply needed for msi Z370

The PSU is for your overall needs of all hardware. So we need to know what other hardware you're going to install on that mobo.

Generally speaking, a 500 - 650 watt PSU is sufficient and of a reputable maker.....like Seasonic, EVGA, Antec.

I just bought a brand new IdeaPad Z370 last week and have been using it perfectly well except for one thing: The built-in card reader. I already installed all the necessary drivers when I first installed the Operating System (Windows 7 32-bit), but I still can't use the card reader until now. Whenever I put anything inside, the system doesn't detect anything. Yes, the driver installation was successful, The memory cards I tried to put (SD and Micro SD on a adapter) were all working fine and I even uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers with the one I downloaded from this site but still no luck. Can anyone help me with this? I'd really appreciate it a lot. Thanks.

hey Ein,uninstall the drivers for the card reader. go to device manager, disable the device.restart your unit, back to device manager and re-enable the card reader. This should then make Win7 install generic drivers for the card reader.once it has been installed, test again and see if it works with generic drivers.

A:Z370 cannot detect any wifi network at all

hi j1986,

Welcome to the Forums.

Can you try the following:
1. Press Fn+F5 to enable the wireless card (ensure Current Status is set to "ON")

2. If pressing Fn+F5 can't turn the wireless status to ON, ensure that the physical wireless switch is on the ON position.

3. If same problem, boot into the BIOS by pressing F2 on startup and ensure that the WLAN Device is Enabled.

4. If you still can't detect wifi networks, open Device Manager (press Winkey+R) and then:
     - navigate to Network Network Adapters
     - right click on the wireless adapter and choose uninstall
     - right click on Network Adapters and choose Scan for hardware changes and check for availabel wifi networks

5. Alternatively, try to re-seat the wireless connectors at the bottom part of the PC (see page 42 of the HMM)

Hope this helps

Hi,I wanted to upgrade my RAM in Lenovo G50-80 from 8GB(2x4) to 12GB(1x4 and 1x8). Since in my laptop I had Elixir SODIMM 4GB, DDR3, 1600Mhz (M2S4G64CC88D5N-DI), I decided to buy another one from the same brand, which is Elixir SODIMM 8GB, DDR3 1600Mhz (M2S8G64CB8HB5N-DI). The problem here is that my laptop does not see this memory stick. Wherever I check (f.e. BIOS) it says I have only 4GB RAM. In specs it is said that for my laptop it is possible to have max 16GB (2x8) RAM, so I do not know where am I doing a mistake. I even tried to change slots for both sticks, but nothing happens, so It is not problem with slot.Am i forgetting something? Should I do something more here to make my new stick working? Thanks,

I have the Lenovo G50-45 model, with 6gb of DDR3 ram and 500gb HHD and AMD Radeon R5 GPU. I was wondering , since it comes with 6 GB of ram, can i upgrade that to 8 later on in the future if need be?

A:Lenovo g50-45 ram upgrade

hi mislam13,

Welcome to the Forums.

If you have the G50-45 (Beema) then an 8Gb upgrade will be ok as this system comes with 2 SODIMM slots and the max memory can be up to 16GB DDR3L.(1.35v).

Lenovo G40/50 AMD Specs

In addition, your system is likely configured with 4GB+2GB so you just have to change the 2GB with a 4GB to pump it up to 8GB (you can verify this by looking under the hood).

Hi Heron1337,

Your G50-80 can support more than current 4GB up to maximum of 16GB.
Adding similar 4GB PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, non-parity, on the two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets would allow you to have dual-channel capabilities for faster rate interaction.

Your DDR3L Kingston 4GB (1600) (KVR16LS11/4)1.35V  is an exact upgrade for your pc.

System Specification for RAM upgrade  (location page 37)

16GB max / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, non-parity, dual-channel capable, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets  .

You can maximize it up to total 16 GB  (2 X 8GB) similar to this.

On related threads

Part number of RAM: 11202707, 11202080 (8GB RAM), 11202125, 11202081, 11202706 (4GB RAM).

Lenovo motheboard are non brand specific and are universal so that you may have a choice where to get it for as long as you keep the same recommended Specs  and works seemless on a DDR3L .

I'm sure this question depends on my financial situation for the most part, but I just want to make sure my laptop specs are good enough and will last until I start working on getting a desktop. Specs:Graphics card - Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 / NVIDA GeForce GTX 960M (Why exactly do I have 2?)Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4720HQ CPU @2.6GHz8GB ramHard Drive - Model WDC WD10S21X-24R1BT0-SSHD-8GBThank you!

I recently purchased a Lenovo H30-05 but have now realised the Power Supply is not enough to support the NVIDIA GeForce 750 Ti (this would have been obvious if I had checked and found out  it was 65w before purchasing but, long story, I didn't).

I'm wondering if it is possible to add an internal PSU which would cope (e.g. 300W+) as there is no 20-pin connector on the Motherboard? I see the 4-pin connector and obviously the socket where the power lead connects on the back but just wondered if a regular ATX PSU would suffice if I connect the 4-pin to the Motherboard?

Hi guys, I just got a z50-70 and i would like to upgrade the ram from 8GB to 16 GB, what SODIMM and MHZ do i use to get max performance. I don't know much about the clock rate on the RAM or the GPU nor the CPU cuz i know if they are all in sync with one another the computer runs like a charm (AND FASTER)  but right now i just dont have the time to investigate all the specs of the components in this laptop. PLEASE HELP, i prefer SAMSUNG RAM cuz of its reliability. But due to my studys i just need an upgrade ASAP.....THANX ;-)

You can refer to Z50-70 hardware maintenance manual for tested brand, basically the max RAM supported is 2x8 GB PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600) and to enable dual channel, be sure to use the same brand and chipset for both modules or just get a sold "matched-pair" or 16GB-2x8GB bundled modules.

Hello! I have a Lenovo G50 80 80E501U3US with i55200u CPU @ 2.20 GHZ, Intel HD Graphics 5500, and a 4GB stick and a 2GB stick of 1600MHz RAM for a 6GB total. I'm interested in buying an 8GB stick of RAM to replace my 2GB stick. I looked at the list of compatable sticks and am thinking of purching this one (https://www.amazon.com/Memory-SO-DIMM-PC3L-12800S-1600MHz-HMT41GS6AFR8A-PB/dp/B00N46M5D2) here from Amazon.  My question is would it work to take my 2GB stick out and replace it with this one to have 12GB of RAM? Is that ok if they're different sizes as long as they're both 1600MHz? I'm also not sure the manufacturer of my current RAM or if that matters. Thanks!

Your machine specs:http://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/Lenovo%20Laptops/Lenovo%20G50/Lenovo_G50_Platform_Specificat...16GB max / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, non-parity,dual-channel capable, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets Download CPUz to view current memory:http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.htmlUse the SPD tab and memory tab. Your amazon Hynix looks like it matches spec. You might just want to replace 2GB with 4GB to get dual channel. 4GB+ 4GB matching sticks. OEM memory, page 80, part 12.https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/lenovo_g_z_50_series_hmm.pdf

Hi there, I was quickly going thru a few ram upgrade topic but can't find the right answer. So I'd like to surprise my Mrs and bought an SSD into her laptop and want to upgrade the memory as well. But I'm not sure which one I choose ?The laptop has this ram atm  Sk Hynix 4gb ddr3 1600mhz pc3l 12800s 11-13-B4hmt451s6bfr8a pb no aa 1443 my question is can I choose diff part number from this ram? Like hmt451s6afr8a orhmt451s6mfr8a so basically there are a lots of them with diff letter after the "6" digit. Is it a problem if it won't be identical? Or just the MHz voltage brand should be match? Thank you for pointing me on the right direction ?? Cheers

Hi. My Z50-70 laptop has Samsung DDR3 PC-3 12800 (800mhz) ram. I'm not able to find this ram anywhere on the web. Also, I'm seeing DDR3L PC-3 12800 (1600mhz) rams available. Are these compatible to my laptop? How to check the compatibility of rams? I have also checked the hardware manual but nothing is there regarding the suggesting rams. Is it possible that a laptop can handle a ram with a higher frequency? (in my case 1600 mhz ) The laptop's motherboard is Lancer 5a5.  Please help me out.

Your memory spec is:PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L If you see 800 MHZ in CPU-Z, multiply by 2 to get the transfer rate. Memory is 2 sided. Sample memory:http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for//lenovo-z50-70 HMM, page 80, item 12 has Lenovo OEM memory part numbers:https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/lenovo_g_z_50_series_hmm.pdf
