I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,

I have been using WLM for some years. Yesterday, it stopped sending emails and now just leaves them in the Outbox. Here is most of what appears in the error box:

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's email address. The sender's email address was '[email protected]'.
Subject 'Newsflash'
Server Error: 553
Server Response: 553 Sorry, over your daily relay limit.
Server: 'smtpout.secureserver.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC78
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 80
Secure(SSL): No

I don't send many emails and don't send emails with large attachments, so I don't know why the "over your daily relay limit" message appears.

Port 80 has worked for a long time and works (sends emails) from the other computers on the network, so it doesn't seem like I should need to select a different port number.

The "My server requires authentication" box is selected/ticked.

None of the settings have been changed for a long time.

Our ISP is GoDaddy.

Thanks for any advice.

A:Can no longer send e-mail with Windows Live Mail, error 0x800ccc78

what firewall and AV are you using ?

When I download and install Windows Live Email 2011 onto Windows 7 64bit, will the installation automatically
find and install the correct server designations? Will the app then be ready for immediate use or is there anything else I have to do?

A:Solved: Windows Live Mail 2011 Installation on Windows 7 64bit

Windows Live Mail 2012 is the most current version.

I personally use it with Windows 7 32-bit.

If I remember correctly, you need to enter the correct email settings for your Internet Service Provider(ISP) after it's installed.

---------------------------------------------------------

After you download and save the wlsetup-web.exe file, close all open windows first, then double-click the saved file to run it.

Make sure to uncheck all the extras you don't want to install with the email app.

If you don't, you'll wind up with a computer full unnecessary apps.

If you're not sure how to install it and set it up, you need to have a computer-knowledgeable person help you.

Go to the website of your ISP, they will show you how to set um WLM. Use their setting for sending. You can use the name of your Gmail account to show as the "send to" for replies.

Hello again. I continue to have problems requiring some assistance. I am running windows 7 Home, SP1, and I use windows live mail email client to service my email accounts with bellsouth.net (att.yahoo.com).
Over the past year I have been having spells when My ability to send or receive email would result in an error message 0x800CCC90 stating my password is incorrect. I know the problem is a server problem because my attempt to change my email password resulted in a statement: "There are currently no available options for you to obtain a temporary password for your account. For help retrieving or resetting your password, please contact us."

The message above states that it MAY be a server problem, which you can do nothing about, only your ISP can.

Servers have been know to have hiccups just like any desktop or laptop.

If the email access is there most of the time, then it is a server error or your connection to that server is not being made at THAT time. Waite a while and try again.

Good job of providing the error message.

When did you download Windows Live Mail?

Which version of WLM are you using?

When did WLM last work correctly.

The problem may be with W L M.
Please see the screen shot I have attached.

Try to be patient and wait a couple of hours. The W L M server may be overloaded with requests, or the server may be on a break, for maintenance.

I am NOT suggesting that you shouldn't be concerned. I am only suggesting patience of 2 to 4 hours.

That doesn't look like a valid server name, and outgoing email servers don't typically have "pop" as part of the name.

I'm hoping someone can help me or point me in the right direction. I tried to open Windows Live Mail last night and suddenly got this error.

WLM could not be started. The app was unable to load the WLM message store. WLM was unable to locate it's message database. If you've moved the DB path to a new location, click OK to reset the db path to that location. Otherwise click cancel to proceed, any existing messages found will be available under orphaned accounts. (0x00000000. 2)

I click cancel and then this message pops up.
WLM could not be started. The app was unable to open WLM message store. your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. (0x80070002)

I have almost 425GB Free on the HD so I doubt that's the issue.

I'm not sure what happened. The computer did not shut down abnormally and previously about a few hours ago I opened it just fine. So I'm not sure what caused the error or how to fix it. When I go into uninstall WLM I can't find it or Windows Live program to uninstall that. Windows live came pre-installed with the computer.

I've done searches on these specific errors but they are always somewhat different with different error codes and mostly on Visa machines. So I was hoping that someone here might have an answer. I did try deleting the WLM message database to see if it would fix it, and it hasn't. I still get the same error.

Hope someone can help or point me in the right direction.

Thanks
Mel

Windows Live Mail - Error

The error always shows up on the last email account installed. I proved this by uninstalling two accounts & reinstalling them in reverse order.

If all news groups are prevented for searching for new messages the error does not occur. Of course this means that the News Groups are not updated.

I recently got a new computer with windows seven. I tried windows live mail and it opened with no problems. I then used windows easy transfer to move my files mail etc from my old computer which was using XP but I was already using windows live mail on that computer.

The transfer seemed to go fine however when I tried to open windows live mail I was greeted with the following message:

"Windows live mail could not be started. The application was unable to open the windows live mail message store. Your windows live mailbox data is currently being used by another program, such as a virus scanner. Close the program or wait for it to complete its operation, then open windows live mail again. (0x800c0155, 2)".

The only option on this error is to press OK and then there is no further information.

I first decided to remove mcafee and norton trials that where on my computer but this had no effect.

I then reinstalled windows live mail onto the new computer which, had no effect.

I have used task manager to look for and stop any processes that look a bit suspect however, this didnt work although I may be missing something.

I have tried running windows live mail as administrator but again no effect.

I am convinced this may be cause by the 'easy transfer' however, I am not sure how. If somebody could show me a way of removing the files that were transfered I might give this a go.

Thanks in advance!

Danny

Also when I am going to windows update, no new update is shown. Also I have tried the following options also, but same error is displayed.

1. windows Reset - it is not working and is showing the message - nothing changed. I am doing windows reset using keeping my files.

2. Checked the windows time and proxy and also steps below.

Step 1: Try clearing the Store Cache:
1. Press the Windows key + R keys.
2. In the Run window, type WSReset.exe and click ?Ok?.

Step 2: Run built in Windows Store Apps troubleshooter and check if it helps. This would also fix any issues with Microsoft Sudoku.
* Press Windows Key then type ?troubleshoot? and hit Enter
* Select ?View all? on the left panel and run ?Windows Store Apps? troubleshooter from the list and see if it works.
* Click on ?Advanced? and then click on ?Apply repair automatically?.
* Click ?Next? and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process. Once done check if problem still persists.
I would suggest you to perform System File Check (SFC), and then check if this fixes the issue.

I have an Acer Aspire 5736Z computer with Windows 7 (I am not sure whether 64 or 32 bits). When after an automatic upgrade the computer showed too long the same screen the user switched it off by pressing the on/off button for a few seconds. Since then when the computer starts up it reports an error and restarts in the Windows Recovery Environment. However, automatic recovery does not work ("the computer cannot automatically be repaired") and when I go to the Advanced Options and try to roll back towards a recovery point I always end with error 0x8000ffff.

I did some research on internet and found that there is a bug with Windows RE that results in the error code 0x8000ffff (see for example "0x8000ffff" error message when you try to restore a Windows 7-based computer by using System Restore and "E_UNEXPECTED 0x8000ffff" error when you try to restore a system by using System Recovery Options in Windows 7). However, the solutions that those Knowledge Base articles suggest (installing Windows Automated Installation Kit and operating in administrative mode) seem impossible within the restrictions of the Windows Recovery Environment.

Does anyone have suggestions how to get out of this?

If you installed the Tuesday updates, this past Tuesday one of them caused many different problems with Windows 7 systems.

Microsoft has issued KB3024777 that will remove the problem KB3004394 from your computer. I don't know if that is your problem, but worth investigating and even downloading and installing the fix KB.

When i go to install windows live messenger on my windows 2000 it comes up with an error
that says: The ordinal 730 could not be located in the dynamic library SHELL.dll.
It comes up with the error twice then another window comes up saying bootstrap.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows you will need to restart the program. An error log has been created. If anyone could tell me how to install windows live on my windows 2000 or fix this error that would be great.

I have never had this, or any other problem with Live mail. However, 2 days ago I tried to send several e-mail messages and got this error:

An unknown error has occurred.
Subject 'Article'
Server Error: 421
Server Response: 421 Cannot establish TLS with SMTP server 65.55.162.200:587, SSL_connect error 5
Server: 'smtp.live.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC67
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 587
Secure(SSL): Yes

I have tried to repair Live mail through Add/Remove programs to no avail. All of my POP and SMTP settings are correct and have not changed since I set up the account. I simply cannot figure out why I cannot send mail. I ran a scan with Malwarebytes and found nothing at all.
(I have no problem recieving mail that I know of)

Are there any Windows XP Services that Windows Live Mail is dependent on?
Anyway,
I hope someone can help with this problem soon.

Thank you

Hi,

I normally scan my document directly to the WLM to send it. It was working fine previously but today it gave me the following error:

An unknown error has occurred.
Server: 'mail.optusnet.com.au'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80070057
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No

I've tried going offline, delete the file in the outbox then relaunch WLM and go online again but it didnt work. Whenever the scanner finished scanning, attaches the image of the scanned document on the email and it activates the log on screen for Windows Live Messeger as well.

Wonder if anyone has any solution to it. Thanks.

Dave

This is hard to answer since the problem description leaves no answer other than something changed with your PC between "previously" and "today". You need to expiriment with other ways to send the image using WLM to see what works and what doesn't work. For example, signed-in or not, as attachment, insert inline, send a page by email using your browser. You can also repair Windows Live Essentials, or reset your default programs.

I recently Installed Windows Live mail & messenger onto my Vista PC. When I went to open it, I got the following error code 0x80041161. Windows Live mail could not be started because msmail.dd could not be initialized. I have read everything about this error code and topic, but nothing has helped. I have uninstalled/reinstalled WLM completely. I am dual booting Vista and XP, not sure if that is a factor. Any ideas or links to solve my issue? Thanks.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum so please be gentle with me! I am reasonably computer literate (started when Win 3.1 was the current OS) but new to Win 10 which I have just acquired pre installed on a new PC.
I use WLM and got it running well on two separate accounts on my PC. I then looked at Outlook to see if it was any better. On returning to WLM I got an error message as shown below. This now appears every time I open WLM on that account, on the other account there is no problem. I have tried everything I can, with help from a user guide, to correct what I suspect is a mistake on my part but cannot fix the error. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

See if this will help.

Go to your Programs and Features > scroll down to Windows Essentials (2011, or 2012 ) > right click at it > click Uninstall/Change > click Repair.
See if Repair will fix the problem.

I am new to this site and looking for help with my live mail account. Below is the error I keep getting when trying to send/forward emails from my account. Receiving has been no problem. OS is Windows 7 home X64. This is a brand new Dell inspirion 620 and the only problem so far is this Live mail issue.
The connection to the server has failed.

so far I have done the following steps to resolve the problem:contacted my service provider to ensure all email settings were set correctly.--they were. they advised remove email accounts, windows live mail program, re-install live mail and setup accounts again. I did this twice with the same results--can not sned out emails. I have disabled the antivirus thinking that maybe the problem could be due to that--still no luck. Ihve changed the outgoing port to a secondary port provided by my provider--no luck here. I have also tried checking the block for "requires authenication"--this didn't do anything either. I have searched for days trying to find an answer to my problem and I am not getting anywhere. Getting desperate as I usually can figure things out but this problem has me baffled. If there is any one out there that may know of a fix, Please contact me.

Yes! - this seems to be a real popular problem round the forums.

Intel / Win7x64, resources are OK.

Following the common spine of these threads WLM was uninstalled, Reg entries removed by hand, the store folder copied away to a safe place, no beta was ever installed, several reboots, no Norton, no Mcafee, etc, deleted the two LM folders in Program Data & program Files, ran zapmessenger.exe,

Tried to install WLE 2009 (as this may install core files WLE 2011 requires but cannot find if WLE / WLM has been removed) with no success. Why? wlsetup-custom.exe finds remnants of WLE / WLM 2011 still hiding somewhere on the disk.

Like so many others nothing allows a re-installation of WLM.

Can anyone help?

Thank you.

A:Windows Live Mail - error 0x80040609

Attempting to install MAIL.MSI so as to just install the mail element fails because there seems to be a newer version of WLM present.

Where is this information stored? Every delete and uninstall trick has been played; I cannot find any references to WLM on the HDD.

I have Windows live mail. My hotmail account was hacked by someone about a month back. Ever since then, I am not able to receive messages from my hotmail account in Windows Live Mail. At first, when I tried to open my hotmail account, everything was in Hebrew language. I searched the forum and found a way to change the language to English. However, I continue to get this message till now:
Server: 'pop3.live.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10053
I tried to repair Windows Mail. Even after that, the error message continued. I reinstalled Windows Live Mail.
Even after that I continue to get the same error message.
Please help. It is a frestrating experience.

I continue to have problems with the error code 0X8De00006.  Is there someone out there that could either steer me towards a software fix or a simple fix that isn't too technical.  The problem I continue to have is the lack of experience with computers.  I can remember 11 and 12 inch disks used like a cd today, technology has passed me by.  All I really want is to send emails via Windows Live.

All the addresses were there i click send and received whats below. Check with my ISP and all is set up good. been looking on forums for awhile with no luck, any ideas?

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Live Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

"Domain of recipient does not resolve" means they can't find keene.us in a dns lookup for its IP numerical address. Neither could I using tracert; but I could find the IP for "keen.us".

I am trying to open Windows Live Mail and getting the following error message:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Mail\MAILRT2.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

I haven't been too successful finding a definitive answer on the topic as of yet. Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to reinstall the program if I don't have to so just want to see if anyone has any answers. Thank you!

You might try a System restore point prior to this error message. Otherwise just install it again.
