I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently ordered a Horizon 2, and should have it by next week. I am an artist, and would love to be able to paint (with Photoshop and other software) right on the touch screen with a stylus.  What types of stylus does the Horizon 2 support? Because it has a multi-touch screen, I am assuming that it is capacitive, and therefore any cheap capacitive stylus should work, correct?  But maybe I'm wrong... is it Wacom enabled with a digitizer, or some kind of hybrid, so that a digitizer-enabled stylus with pressure sensitivity and other features (eraser on the opposite end, extra button functionality, etc..) would work?  If the Horizon 2 is not Wacom digitizer enabled, would a Bluetooth enabled stylus (again, for pressure sensitivity and other features) work? I'm assuming some sort of drivers or other additional software would have to be installed to get a Bluetooth stylus to function, but is this at least an option? What would I need to do to get these advanced stylus features to work on the Horizon 2?  Thank you very much in advance for your help!

A:Which stylus/pens are compatible with Horizon 2?

Apologies for digging up an old post, but just wondering how you got on and what you went for, and why?

Before my question,  I just bought the newly-released X1 Yoga and not sure if I should be in the "X1" or "Yoga" forum. The digital pen that comes with the machine is too small to use for taking notes. So I ordered 3 different "ThinkPad" digital pens on Amazon and none will work.  I can't find any specs on Lenovo that explain which Wacom pens to use (it's clear Wacom would be the obvious choice because the machine has Wacom software pre-loaded). But even Wacom's site isn't clear...it shows only one pen that's compatible with ThinkPad products but it's not for sale on their site OR ANY OTHER SITE. Where do I get a regular sized digital pen/stylus for the ThinkPad X1 Yoga?

Hi all,

I've been holding out for years now and I still can't believe that there aren't more or any manufacturers making good active Bluetooth stylus options for Windows systems.

I'm referring to the likes of the Adonit Pixel, Ink & Slide, or Apple Pencil, which use Bluetooth to relay pressure sensitivity and other data to your system.

What's the bottleneck currently with Windows? Or is it purely lack of interest in the market, where everyone seems to gravitate towards iPads for this sort of thing?

Hi everyone. So I've noticed this subject being touched on for other models but mine doesn't seem to be listed anywhere plus a lot of the posts are a bit older now...I'm looking for an up date on this issue maybe. I'm looking for a stylus or pen that will go with my touch screen device. My goal ideally would be to use illustrator or photoshop to make simple sketches and even illustrations or paintings. So far a few styli I have tried don't work. The dollar store rubber tip one will draw a wobbly line which is useless while a more expensive Adonit Jot Pro with a clear disk on the tip...hardly manages a continuous line at all.  It also doesn't help that the Lenovo site doesn't list ANY accessories for my device along the lines of pens/styli and half the time the site tells me I have a Thinkpad and half the time it's an Ideapad. And sometimes my model isn't even listed at all anywhere on the accessories drop down! This is my first time switching to a non-mac/apple product and so far I have to say I'm really not too impressed but still hopeful things will work out. My Yoga 700 came out of the box with driver issues as well as a desperate need for a firmware update that would fix ghost touch screen tap issues that kept closing windows... But I guess those can just be called growing pains. I would really like to make full use of my touch screen so I'm looking for a pen or stylus with pressure sensitivity and palm rejection that integrates with illustra... Read more

I upgraded the RAM memory in this notebook already, it was easy to put it into the socket but are there even some CPUs available for laptops and how can they be replaced if they exist? We just got Google Fiber installed.  The U510 that I have is only getting into the 90mb range for both download and upload speeds.  I know that is good compared to other internet speeds, but the other household laptop is getting 300mb download and 700mb upload.  Both computers are hardwired.  When I go wireless on the U510, it drops to about 10mb download and 2mb upload.  I know the Centrino N2330 card in this computer is not great and I can't seem to find any great info on being able to upgrade the card without maybe flashing the bios or something that is way out of my league.  So is there anything that I could look into that would help speeds?  Maybe the network card maxes out at 100mb??? I have problem with my Ideapad U510. Taken to a shop. It could be a fan problem or could be a hard drive problem or both. My U510 has 24GB SSD + 1 TB HD (I think it is WD). The OS was Win8 which I upgraded to Win8.1 within days I received the laptop.Have 2 questions:Q1/  Can the hard drive swap out and replaced by a new drive? In other word, will the existence of the 24GB SSD posed a problem in this swapping?Q2/ The HD is 1TB. Googling the spec for U510, there is an old pdf from Lenovo saying this laptop support 500GB, 750GB to 1TB HD. If the original drive is the source of problem and I have to replace it, does anyone know whether I can replace the original 1TB drive with a 2TB drive?  Also, the original HD spins at 5400rpm, can U510 accepts HD with spinning speed of 7200rpm? Thanks in advance.Sorcerer

If you're looking for an active stylus, which supports features like right-click and pressure sensitivity, you'll first want to make sure that your notebook model is compatible. See Touchscreen Compatibility with Pen and Stylus to see whether your computer model will support an active stylus and learn more about the different types of stylus that are available. I've just purchased two Dell e7470 laptops with the 14 inch QHD (2560x1440) Touch Screen. Although having a stylus is not critical, I'd like to know what my options are. I don't know enough about these systems to know what type stylus to buy (capacitive, Wacom or Bluetooth).  I was using a Surface Pro 4 and enjoyed that stylus (Bluetooth and Wacom, I believe).  We've discarded the Surface Pros - awful reliability!  I'm not an artist, but like to annotate docs and do an occasional sketch. I mainly use the stylus as a mouse. Any wisdom?  Thanks in advance!

Hello, I just bought a Targus stylus (http://targus.com/us/stylus-for-tablets-and-smartphones-black-amm01tbus) to use with my HP Spectre x360. Unfortunately it doesn't work very well with the touchscreen; I have to press it so hard that the screen wobbles back and forth. I find this strange because it is very sensitive when I use my finger; a light touch is enough. Is there a setting where I can remedy this? I tried Calibrate, but it seemed to only calibrate for location, not sensitivity. Or, would anyone recommend a specific stylus other than the HP Active Stylus? I just want a simple, non-battery-operated stylus to use to draw and take notes without smudging my screen with fingerprints. Thank you,Chuck

A:Which stylus should I use with my Inspiron 15r touch laptop? Will a 'Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel' work with it?

Hi Shaurya,Welcome to Dell community.
Yes you can use stylus pen with this system.
15z has 15.6" LED-Backlit LCD Capacitive Multi-touch screen, so you can use Targus Stylus with this system which Dell recommends. For further help you can click on the below mentioned link:
http://bit.ly/VoK4ml
The Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel is the newest stylus from Wacom that a user in that forum said works well. The site, http://bit.ly/WSqVAQ  , says it's compatible with the Latitude 10. Technically, any of the non-battery (somehow powered wirelessly by the tablet) powered Wacom stylus should work.
Please reply me if you need any further help.

I've had my Lenovo ideapad Flex 15 for just over a year now, so I guess this is the time at which things start going kerplooey. Today my touchscreen started going haywire, clicking rapidly and repeatedly in one random spot in the top left corner of my screen, so fast I couldn't use my touchpad to get the cursor away from the spot. After closing and reopening the computer, the problem stopped momentarily but then came back. I rebooted and when Windows restarted I received a pop up that "Windows Mouse and Keyboard Center has stopped working." The problem returned shortly after, and now my touchscreen has stopped working altogether. Can anyone help me?

A:Ideapad Flex 15 touchscreen woes

Update: The problem is now intermittently returning. If I close my laptop and reopen it, it seems to disable the touchscreen for a period of time so that I'm able to actually use my computer for a bit before it starts feverishly attacking that one area of the screen. All instructions I've found online to disable the touchscreen haven't worked... I'd love to have it functioning again though. Help?

Hi, My touchscreen randomly stopped working the other week and I have no idea if it's some sort of keyboard shortcut I accidentally hit or what... I tried to calibrate it under the "Pen and Touch" section of the Control Panel and nothing worked (it didn't recognize my touch at allk to even TRY and calibrate it).  Then I tried Right-clicking the "HID-compliant touch screen" section of the "Human Interface Devices" drop-down tab of my Device Manager, and nothing worked-- I even tried to "Disable" the touch screen and then re-Enable it, but that didn't work.  I also ran a check for an updated driver I may have needed but didn't get when my computer automatically upgraded to Windows 10, but it said that "my touch screen driver was up to date" (which I had a feeling would be the result since my Windows 10 upgrade was months ago and my touchscreen worked fine until just last week... unless my anti-spyware programs: Spybot Search and Destroy and Malwarebytes, somehow disabled it...?).  I even tried turning on "Tablet mode" to see if that would work, but nada.  Finally, I figured maybe I accidentally hit some sort of setting that would disable touchscreen while my wireless mouse was on, but touch STILL didn't work when I turned off my mouse. ======> PLEASE HELP ME!!!  Thanks!!!

To resolve the touchscreen issue follow below steps.1. Open Device Manager and uninstall all that start with HID- under Human interface devices.2. Restart the system and see if that works. Also perform a Power Drain. If the battery is removable, remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec. Turn the computer back on and check now if touchscreen is working fine.

Since I upgraded yesterday to Windows 10, I have lost the touchscreen ability I had up to that point on Windows 8.1. "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

How do I do that? I note a similar problem in Windows 8.1 on this posting:

A couple weeks ago, my touchscreen and usb drivers suddenly disappeared when the laptop did an automatic update and the battery drained over night. I fixed it briefly by going into the advanced start up and restoring my computer to a point before it had stopped working. Well, battery drained over night again and drivers vanished. As did the restore point I had used. I have fixed the usb issue, but I cannot for the life of me get this stupid screen to work. In the device manager, it's listed under "other devices" with a yellow warning. Click it and it brings up Code 28. I have been to the update drivers section on Lenovo. Updated things that I have read on here worked for others, nothing. I have uninstalled, restarted my laptop, driver still won't install. I have run diagnostics and they came up with nothing. Researching into the far reaches of the internet is making my head hurt and not yielding much that's relevant to my model. I have had this laptop for years with no issues (except a few slight manageable ones). It's out of warranty, I can't afford a new one, and depending on how much it could cost me, having someone repair it for me.  Can anyone provide some direction to help me fix this? It isn't hugely pressing now that I have a working mouse, just more of a major annoyance when I habitually poke and swipe the screen. I'm fairly tech savvy, but I've reached my "I want to chuck it over a cliff" limit. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

I am on windows 10 and one day my touchscreen just stopped working. I checked device manager and HID-compliant Touch Screen Driver is "not connected".
