I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Just got a Yoga 700-11ISK. It's great. Love it. Want to know how I can charge it from a power bank. The battery life is good-not-great. I know it needs 20v. If I snagged a 24v power bank and used the USB C cable,  would I get a charge? Anyone have alternate suggestions? I'll solder together something totally unsafe if need be.

A:Yoga 700 - How do I charge it from a power bank?

I am getting some info from the Lenovo team on the USB Type C port if it supports audio, video or whatever application however seems to be that the Type C is just another USB port for portable devices such as external HDD.There have been discussions about charging the laptop via Type C however I don't think you can as its only suppose to charge via the AC port. Don't fry the mobo mate.

I recently purchased a Zbook Studio for video editing, and am wondering how to charge it through a power bank.  I initially thought of using usb-c but then I read that you cannot charge through this port.  The battery life isn't too great on this computer, so when I go to take trips to Yosemite it only lasts a few hours of editing until I have to find a wall port somewhere.  I want to charge from a usb-3 power bank, and am wondering how to do this without a larger battery that has a wall power port.  Thanks!

You can find a huge collection by searching ?power banks for laptops? on a search engine. You just need to compare things like capacity, weight, and price.  The power bank should have a USB standard charging port and a DC output port as well. I have bougth a power bank in Pakistan for my laptop last year from Doortodoor.pk an online shopping store, ask their support team to guide you which is better for your laptop

Anyone have any suggestions for a power bank to use with the C930? This is the one I was taking a look at on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Power-Delivery-Charger-20000-Output/dp/B078RTGL35/ref=sr_1_3?rps=1&ie=UTF8&qi... The power bank is 45W. However, the C930 charge is 65W. According to the seller, it will work with the C930 but not charge as quickly as the older generation C920, which is 45W. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Hi all, I just started a grad school program that requires me to be in class for a number of hours each day. Unfortunately, the class has limited power outlets so I won't always be guaranteed one. I'm looking into a power bank/external battery charger for the Y500 but can't seem to find one that is compatible. I was told the power specs of my laptop are 19.5v 6.15A, but the issue is that most of the ones I've found online have a max output of 5A. Does anyone have a recommended item? Thanks for your help!

Hello Everyone, I am considering the purchase of a specific power bank for my L540 laptop. The product is the Vinsic 30000mah. I can't seem to get clarification on whether my Lenovo laptop will successfully hook up with the PB and take the charge. As far as I can tell, the PB has a lot of muscle and is well-recommended. The PB comes with 8 adaptors; for Lenovo products it lists a  7.9*10 mm adaptor. It says it has 3 output ports: 1 DC output up to 19V 3.5A, with a max output current of 4.5A; and 2 Smart USB outputs, with output up to 5V 2.4A.  It also says it has 2 Input ports: 1 DC input and 1 Micro USB input. I am uncertain if the specs on my L540 make it compatible with the features listed shown above. Can someone with expertise advise me if I'm Ok to go ahead with the purchase based on the features? Many thanks!

My laptop (g50-45) won't turn on. With the battery and charger plugged in, the charger light indicator on the laptop flashes orange and refesuses to turn on. The battery lost all charge. Without the battery, the computer's "on" indicator light flashes when pushing the power button but the computer still does not turn on. I figured it might be the charger so I got it replaced, and still no improvement. Please help!

Hello,

This problem is from a friend of mine but he doesn't has a computer now. Yesterday he was charging his powerbank through his Laptop (Asus bought 3 months ago) USB port. After a while the computer was shutdown and won't turn on, even when it's plugged through its power adapter.

Is there any solution to this?
Thanks!

A:Laptop wont turn on after charging power bank

Hi and welcome to TSG.

As annoying as it can be to have to do it, your best option if it appears totally dead is to RMA the laptop if it is only 3 months old. Fiddling about with it too much trying to diagnose the problem could end up invalidating any warranty your friend has.

The only simple checks I would do are to try and power it up with and without the power cord connected.
Then remove the battery (assuming it is a removable one) and try it again with the power adapter attached.

It could be a problem with the laptop or that the power brick has just failed, it happens occasionally.

Hi all, got this power bank (40AL140CWW) for my P1. It is listed as acceptable for the system on the Option Compatibility Matrix (January, 2019). Got it a while back, tested it, worked fine: https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/9uyew4/fieldtesting_the_lenovo_usbc_14000mah_power_bank/ Using it today (charged yesterday) ... all four lights on the bank come on when I plug it into my P1, but, the system is behaving differently ... previously, the bank powered the unit and its LEDs went off one by one as the charge decreased; the main battery indicator on the bottom did not move off 95%. This time, the main battery indicator shows a decreasing level of charge, and so far, the bank still has four LEDs illuminated. Even weirder, the "remaining time" at one point seemed to indicate the battery was present (showing 8+ hours remaining) but now, even that has changed, and the system is acting like there is no power bank installed at all (shows 3 hours and 33 min [77%] remaining.) I am using the USB-C power cord that came with the bank. Is it defective? TIA, -kj-

I.I have an lenovo y50-70 that i like very much. The only problem i have with it, is that if i play forex gta v, or doing other things that makes the computer work hard, the power button starts to flash and it is stopping to charge. It happens all from about 5min to 30min after i have started to play. If i pull the plug and put in in again, it does not flash anymore, and i can play for a while before it starts to do that again. Noticed that the plug i put into the computer to charge it, gets very warm. This problem does not come if i just use the computer for surfing on the internet, watching netflix or similar, only if the computer has to work hard. Is it the charger that can't deliver enough power to charge it or what could my problem be?What does the power button flash mean? Thanks!

Hello, My Lenovo Yoga 700-14ISK has stopped working altogether. It was charging and all of a sudden went out and has not turned on ever since. I have tried pressing the Lenovo button on the side and it will not boot up either. When plugged in, none of the lights will indicate that it is charging. I have removed the battery from the inside and plugged it in again and I still have no results. I have found somewhere that I should try removing the CMOS battery but my specific model does not have one, or at least I am not aware of one. It could also just be a connection. The model type is 80QD. If someone can help me with this issue or help me find the CMOS battery/connection that would be great. Thanks!

I bought a second hand Lenovo Y50-70 UHD around a year ago, which the previous owner had for a couple of years, however It stopped charging around the start of January this year. After looking into it, the charge port inside the laptop needed to be replaced as it had overheated and burnt out. Up until this point I had never had any issues with it, and the previous owner had never mentioned any issues. But I ordered the part online and easily replaced it, and everything seemed to be working fine again. However last Friday (16th) the same thing happened again - wasn't charging at all! I ordered the part again sraight away and it was delivered over the weekend. I fitted it again as I had before, however this time it didn't fix anyhting. My best guess is that the motherboard socket might have also burnt out (Picture 2.), causing any replaceble sockets to quickly burn out too. But I want to try as many options as I can before having it serviced. This is slightly worrying as the other one had only been replaced a couple of months ago - so I really need to get down to the bottom of this. I've been trying to think of what else could be causing this: -I have messaged the seller as it could just be the result of receiving a faulty part. I am yet to recieve a response.-I have removed the battery to see if it would work with just the charger (although I do not think the battery is the problem anyway, but I haven't completely rul... Didn't realize the laptop was unplugged and went completely dead sitting there for a month. Went to plug in to power up and nothing. Thought maybe cat chewed on charger cable and tested it and was only pulling 4v vs the 20v it's supposed to but tried new charger that Lenovo sent and still nothing. I've heard battery could be un-chargeable if left to completely die and sit for a while but still don't get why laptop won't boot up when plugged in.  Am I dealing with something else internal in addition to a dead battery?

My laptop automatically shut down when I connected it to the charger today. The night before I didn't connect it at all. When I turned it on today the battery percentage was about 30%, when I decided to connect the charger, the laptop shut down right when I inserted the charger. The LED lights won't turn on from the power mode nor the charging mode and the laptop makes no noise at all.. I barely got this laptop about 3 months ago and this is the first time this has happened! I tried pressing the power button for a few seconds, I removed the battery and did the same thing, I tried powering it on without the battery and it still won't power on.. help!!

Hi all, I have a big problem. Some days ago, I was using my laptop while it was charging. Then, it suddenly turned off. I noticed that the battery light was red and blinking. I turned on my laptop and there wasn't any problem, it worked fine and the only strange thing was the battery icon, that showed around 7 %. It charged well and there wasn't any problem. At the next day it happened again, but when it was charging some hours later, the laptop turned off again. This problem kept happening this last days, but now when I charge the laptop, on the battery icon it says "connected but without charging". The first times this new issue happened it was solved by disconnecting and connecting the charger, but now it charges only by 3 or 5 seconds. Sometimes it works well but till around 60 %, where it start to doesn't charge. Can you help me?

Earlier the battery went down to 7% so I grabbed my charger to plug it in but as soon as I plugged the charger in, the laptop just swithched off. It didn't shut down or anything, it just switch off. I've now had the charger plugged in for 3 hours and the charging light hasn't turned on and the laptop won't turn on at all. I've tried changing the fuse of the charger and even taking the battery out and putting it back in again but nothing has worked. Please help! :/

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Have you tried clearing the CMOS to see if it will help resolve the problem ?  Just follow this procedure.....

1. Unplug the charger / adapter. 2. Remove the battery. 3. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds. 4. Re-install the battery, plug in the charger / adapter if needed and power up the system to see if the problem was resolved.

If that doesn't resolve the problem then I recommend you contact Lenovo Support for warranty service.

In addition, it is constantly charging the battery, but the battery charge meter does not rise. A:laptop charge/power problem

Chill4 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do to diagnose your laptop from here. Ordinarily, I would link you to troubleshooting steps you could run to check out the charger, but since that blows the circuit whenever you plug it in, and it has to be plugged in to test it, then you clearly can't run those steps. And,since it's most likely too old (more than one year) to still be under warranty, if you take it or send it to an HP Service Center, they will charge you a lot to run diagnostics on it. So, if there are laptop repair centers local to you, you would probably do better taking it to one of those and having them run diagnostics.Good Luck

i don't exactly know where the best place to put this tread is, or if this is even the right forum. But i'll make a post here anyways.

So two days ago my laptop was not able to turn on at all and so i checked the ac adapter and it was beeping so i got brought a replacement from Canada Computers.

So everything after here is with my new ac adapter:

Now it powers on but if the power is connected after the computer starts up then the ac adapter is beeping and the computer no longer receives power but after a random interval of time the beeping stops and computer is charging again.

However if i put in the power line before the computer starts the power line is beeping at first but once i boot the computer the beeping stops and windows shows the power as connected.

Also when i change the Battery Mode in the Lenovo energy management panel the power disconnects and the ac adapter starts beeping again and after another interval of time the power is recognized by windows again and the beeping stops.

As well if i plug out the power supply from the laptop and plug it back in it takes a random interval of time for the power to come and there is also beeping.
So is there anything that i can do to fix this problem.

Thanks,
Harry

I currently have a XPS 12-9Q33 laptop that is not charging. The light at the end of the power adapter is no longer lighting up so it appears to be faulty. I've called Dell to purchase a new adapter but was told that they no longer sell replacements for them and was recommended to buy an adapter from a 3rd party source.
I purchased a replacement with the same voltage and amperage that is supposed to work on a XPS 12. The laptop now powers on but will not charge. The BIOS states that the adapter is unknown and will not allow it to charge.
What can I do now? I find it really frustrating that I cannot get a direct replacement from Dell themselves so I'm stuck with a laptop that is not portable at all since the battery is at 0%

Hi guys, I've had my HP Envy for just over 2 years now, and already gone through one charger due to fault, and have had this new charger for over a year now which has worked fine till now. It is a genuine charger and of the right power output as far as im aware (19.5V, 6.1A, 120W) but only now does my laptop greet me with a message saying along the lines of 'thanks for using hp parts, you'll need a higher capacity output' and now my laptop doesn't charge but is kept alive when plugged in. I've had so many issues with this laptop, it massively overheats, its massively slow, and the charge the battery holds has always been an issue, and I probably won't buy another HP.Is it the battery, charger, or something different altogether?Sorry for the rant but I hope someone can help. CheersAdam
