I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I need to record audio direct to mp3 on a regular basis on my Ideapad 510, which has a combined audio input/output jack. My signal source is a line output from a mixer. I have tried just plugging this in, but there is no input option on record other than the laptop's internal microphone. Although it does record, the sound is very distorted, presumably as it is only picking up from the internal mic.I understand the answer is to use a splitter to plug the line-in cable into - however there are many available, and they appear to be wired differently. Can anyone tell me the correct wiring for this combi jack, and does anyone know of a commercially available product that will do the job. I have looked at Headset Buddy website, but not sure which product would be the right one for this laptop. I know that a usb audio interface would also do the same job, but a splitter cable is a much cheaper alternative.

Hey, everyone! I am having a problem with my audio jack:1. First of all my laptop doesn't seem to acknowledge when I put my headphones/external speakers in the jack... no notification or reaction from the Laptop.2. Second- only left headphone is working. Other than that the laptop speakers are good, the only problem is with the jack. What I've done is to reset my PC, to return it to it's factory settings... but no change! Still the same problem!Laptop is new.. less than 3 months..  I am desperate... I really hope there's something I can do and you could help me with that! I really don't think it''s a hardware problem.. I have taken good care of the machine, no troubles.Thank you!

The speakers on the laptop itself work, but when I plug in any pair of headphones or earphones (I've tried 5 known good pairs) and it is the same problem every time. The right ear piece works and the left does not. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver to no avail. I believe it is a hardware problem and it has a warranty until May 30, 2015, but I don't have the time or money to send it off to lenovo to fix (Expensive to send from military base). Is there any easy solution like an usb audio jack or something I can use to be able to use headphones?

Hi. The aux jack on my Laptop is only working on the Left channel. This is a hardware problem, not a software problem, since the right channel will work if I position my aux cord at a very specific angle. I want to know if there is any way to fix this problem or replace whatever part of the laptop connects to aux cords. Thank you.

Hi all, New to the forum and hopefully someone can help me out. I'm trying to setup a system that will allow me to record meetings.  The setup has the mics and speakers going into a mixing desk.  I can get the sound to come out of the laptop into the mixing desk and out the speakers fine, but when I try to hook up the mixing desk so that the sound is coming into the laptop using a combo audio adapter the quality is just unusable. What I need is:The ability to play audio from the laptopRecord audio on the laptop through the built-in mic isn't good enough quality. It will also be used for Skype so that people who are at home can join a call and hear the meeting. Anyone got any idea on what's wrong going wrong?  If the audio jack isn't going to do it what are my other options? Thanks Alex

Does anyone have a soltution to the problem. How much will it cost me to get it repaired at lenovo service centre since they are not disclosing the price till they do the dignosis of the laptop. Also to replace the audio jack, do they replace the entire motherboard for yoga laptops?  I have also attached the image of the port. Any help or solution will be appriciated

A:audio problem when earphone/head phone is connected to 3.5mm audio jack

Test by switching between the Realtek audio driver and the Windows native audio driver.
1. Open the Device Manager (find it in the Control Panel, or type devmgmt.msc into the search box).2. Expand the "Sound, video & game controllers" and right click on "Realtek High Definition Audio".3. Select to "Update Driver Software".4. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software".5. Click "Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".6. Put a check in the box "Show compatible hardware" if not already checked.7. In the list of devices, click "High Definition Audio" (the native driver).8. Click "Next".9. On the Update Driver Warning box, click "Yes" (install the driver). 10. Restart the laptop if prompted. If not prompted, then no need to restart.[To get back to the Realtek driver, do it again but reverse the names in steps 2 and 7.]
If it still does not work correctly when the native driver is installed, then the hardware in the headphone jack has failed.
But if the same problem is there with the native driver then you should install a different version of the Realtek driver. I might be able to direct you to one but would need to know which operating system you are using.

PC: lenovo ideapad 110-15ASTThe audio appears to have a few issues which I can't figure out how to resolve, and while I could return the PC I'd prefer if I didn't have to. 1. When earphones or other audio imputs are connected to the device it switches the input to both the Speakers and Microphone. When connecting an audio input device it will not allow the computer's speakers to be used. The issue isn't the fact the audio jack is for both a mic and a speaker, as my previous PC was fine with being able to determine the device plugged in.Is it possible to fix this? 2. When earphones are connected, it recognises the device has been connected however will not play out of that device.Under connected devices it won't appear, and instead it remains under the PC Speakers. Audio still plays because it displays the volume level as green bars. No sound however is being transmitted from the PC via the default computer speakers or earphones. Occasionally the earphones will work almost randomly, and cut out the same way. I am unsure whether or not this is a hardware issue or if it is a software issue. Is there any advice to fix this? I have previously tried to install and reinstall the drivers, as well as update them, but so far there has been no success in that front.

Hello, I just purchased a Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15ISK and the volume is very low.  I have done the following:- Install the audio drivers.- Augmented the volume to 100% by holding FN+F3.- Augmented the volume to 100% in the Windows audio settings.- Disabled the audio enhancements. If I can't do anything else, this is very disappointing. My phone's speakers play louder than this laptop, this is ridiculous. So please, tell me there are solutions and that these speakers can actually play louder than what it is right now for me. Because right now I am about to return this laptop and go with another company. I know this is a cheap laptop, but I would still expect better because a speaker from the dollar store plays louder than this laptop. The sound is especially low on Netflix, and this is one of the reason this laptop was bought. It is a bit better on YouTube, but it's still disappointing. I tried running the Windows 10 Netflix app or running Netflix from a browser, either way, the audio is low.

I'm having issues with audio on my Lenovo ideapad 320S14IKB. When I plug in headphones via the 3.5mm audio jack, everything works fine; however, when I unplug the headphones and plug them back in I can't get any sound to come through them. The only workaround I have found is shutting down the laptop with the headphones unplugged, and plugging them in one it had rebooted. If I restart the laptop, the problem doesn't go away. I uninstalled the Dolby bloatware thinking that it was the cause but the problem still persists. Any ideas on what it could be? Edit: I have tried downloading my model's audio and BIOS drivers and neither has worked. Edit 2: Solved problem (see reply for details)

Hey, I have an afterglow headset for gaming. It has a line out 3mm headphone jack on it, and a USB.
Usually, the USB controls the Mic, and the headphone jack controls the audio. But when I plug it in, the sound is coming through the USB (Chat volume), unless I plug it into another power source, like a wall charger for phones. Than the sound will come through the headphone/Line out jack, allowing me to use the Bass boost feature. My brother has the same headset, and it does the same on my computer, and I have no idea why. The sound sounds like garbage coming through the USB. Also my laptop only has one Line out jack. I think the Line in and Line out jacks are combined into one. I don't know if that is messing it up.
So when I have the USB and Line out plugged into my laptop, the sound level is controlled by moving the adjuster to the "Chat" volume, rather than the "Game volume". But if I plug the USB into a wall wart, and the headphone jack into the laptops line out jack, it's normal and controlled by the game volume adjuster on the headset. But than the MIC won't work since it's through the USB.
Any ideas??

A:Audio Issues With Lenovo Z710 Ideapad

USB headsets have their own built in "sound card" to convert the digital USB audio signal to analog so it can be heard in the headset. With USB, the PC's sound card is not used. With this information take another look at what you have or are doing.

Well first of I would run a disk check since it has been hanging,  Right click on Start, select Command Prompt (Admin) and in the command windows type: chkdsk /f   Press Enter and type Y to schedule the scan for the next boot, and then restart the system. Once that is complete I would check for an updated video driver at support.lenvo.com Does it only occur on a particular game, or just any game?    If just one game, have you checked the game boards for anyone else having that issue?       Also check to make sure your laptops vents are clear of dust, and use a Vacuum to clean them if needed.

Hello. For a while now, my headphones that I usually plug into the audio jack are not working at all. I have tried several headphones, but it makes no difference. The only way audio will come out is through a usb headphone, usb adapter, or through the speakers (and also come out of the headphones at the same time) . I've downloaded and redownloaded my audio devices and I'm completely frustrated at this point. I've noticed that my speakers are set to go through the audio jack as well, and thought disabling them would stop this problem. But I was wrong. Nothing. I'm slowly getting more and more annoyed as the days go on without an answer. Please, I just need an answer. I need my headphones to work again. I've been having way too many problems lately, but this is by far the worst. The weirdest thing is, for about a few days it was magically fixed after an update, but reverted!? I don't understand, and I can't stand it anymore. Thank you.

Problem started around 11 pm last night, Feb 5th. I was in the middle of watching a tv show on Youtube, when the video started to slow down then freeze and the audio made a weird screeching noise. I tried powering off and back on, but it didn't help. And i see that i am unable to view videos on not just Youtube but Windows Apps as well. On Apps i get a "Video Failed to Play" message. And on Youtube a fuzzy screen shows up saying that an error occured. Audio is completely gone as well. I tried to listen to music samples on a website to test it, and no sound comes out. The Realtek High Definition Audio speakers are turned on, and all the way up to 100. I ran troubleshooters and it didn't show any problems, so i don't get what happened.

Today, I updated my Realtek Audio Driver to version 6.0.1.7831 (dated 7/21/2016). After installation, I immediately realized that the taskbar icon changed from Dolby to Realtek default icon:? -> ? Next, I went to Programs and Features and found out that "Dolby Audio X2 Windows APP" disappeared from the list. Originally, both of these Dolby programs came with the laptop:? After the update, I was only left with this:? The impact of this is that I can no longer toggle the different sound features provided by the Dolby App. I contacted Lenovo via online chat support but the personnel insists Dolby is not a supported program by Lenovo without giving me a valid solution or answer. Did Lenovo omit Dolby App in the latest Audio Driver by mistake? Or did Lenovo intentionally removed it due to the vulnerability explained here: "Dolby Audio X2 (DAX2) privilege escalation" https://support.lenovo.com/sg/en/product_security/len_4884#/IdeaPad. If anybody is facing the same issue / has any solutions / answers, kindly leave a comment below.
