Lenovo Ideapad 310 - Wifi problems

Q: Lenovo Ideapad 310 - Wifi problems

Hi I was unfortunate enough to buy a Lenovo laptop for the first time two weeks in Kuala Lumpur. It wasnt too long before I realised that the laptop had a serious problem with the Wifi. The internet connection either runs very slowly or not at all, i'm using my old trusty HP laptop at the moment and there are no problems at all, even my cheapo smartphone works better than the Lenovo. The model is Ideapad 310-14IKBModel name 80TUS/N PF0Q5ZXD After a little research(wish I did it before I purchased) I found out that the older Ideapad 310 is plagued by bad Wifi, but it shoudn't affect the new models, this laptop says it was manufactured on 18/12/2016. Two years international warranty came with the device, so I am planning to visit Lenovo when I return home. In the meantime is there any quick fix for this? It's driving me mad. Thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi there,I bought this laptop in early 2017. Within the last 6 months various different wiifi issues have happened and I'm about to throw this thing out the window. It is an Lenovo ideapad 100s running Windows 10.The issue is as follows:The wifi will either not connect, or stay stuck at attempting to authorise. If the wifi does connect it will disconnect very soon. This does not happen with all wifi connections but its happening with my current home connection. My android phone, and my roomates laptops all connect to our wifi no problem. My laptop will connect to other wifi connections and my phone hotspot. So far I have tried the following and none have worked.Reset TCP/IP Stack.Wi-fi Power options.Reinstalled the wifi adapter.Updated the drivers.Disabled Remote Differential Compression.Disabled 802.11n mode.Reset the ipconfig, released, renewed.Updated router firmware.Turned off firewalls, removed anti-virus/malewareDone a network reset.I'm currently posting from my laptop connected to my phone hotspot.Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue?Kind regards,John.

Hello all, I recently bought my Lenovo Ideapad 500s and I am experiencing wifi problems. The wifi would frequently disconnect and say that my network is limited. I would usually disconnect and reconnect and that solves my problem. I am wondering if there is a way to fix this wifi problem instead of continueously reconnecting. If you need any further information, please contact me.  Edit- Does anyone know a way to remove the pop-up for whenever I use capslock? Thanks.

I have a Lenovo ideapad 305 which I have had for about 18 months. I have constantly had the issue where the laptop will randomly disconnect from WiFi and is then unable to reconnect. I have to turn the laptop off and restart it to reconnect the WiFi and it will then just disconnect again. I have previously sent this to Lenovo to fix but they wiped the whole laptop even when I asked them not to.  I have uninstalled all the network drives for the WiFi and forgot all the WiFi connection and it still happens. Nothing else I use disconnects except this laptop.  Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue? Would advise staying away from Lenovo laptops, it?s been a problem ever since I?ve owned it.

Hi,  I?ve had my laptop for about 2 nearly 3 years now. About two days ago it stopped working for some reason. When I looked into it the WiFi adaptor (Intel Core i3) was for some reason disabled and despite having admin access, it would not  enable it successfully, even when I tried it just remained disabled and trouble shooter just states there is an issue with the WiFi adaptor and it cannot solve it.i have so far tried the network connections, troubleshooter and the device manager but both are not working. Is there a relatively simple solution that I?ve overlooked? I can remember it doing this before but I can?t remember how to turn it back on.

Just before the July 29 deadline I updated my Lenovo G40 IdeaPad to Win 10.
Everything appeared fine except that I couldn't get a WiFi link!
Eventually Lenovo "support" advised that there was no available WiFi driver for the G480.
Desperately, I had to uninstall Win 10 and revert to Win 8.1.
Can anyone advise on this. I find it somewhat unbelievable that there isn't a driver for the G480 model - it's not that old.
If anyone can help, I also need advice on how to update to Win 10 beyond the July 29th boundary
Thanks

Hello! I bought myself a Lenovo laptop at least 2 weeks ago (Ideapad 320S, 13"). At first, it was no problem, however, everytime i moved a little bit (3-4 meters away from WiFi router), the signal became unstable and eventually lost. I ran a troubleshooter, it turn out to be the driver not the software or something else. Can someone help me? I cannot stick in one place near the router all the time. Should I bring it to Service Center or not? I still have my Warranty. If I really need to go to the Service Center, would it take a long time? Thank you and Have a good day!

Hello Lenovo forum, I have a problem. NO WIFI (even after install drivers/reboot) Last week I bought this laptop: https://www.expert.nl/lenovo-ideapad-310-15isk-80sm017smhAll good, only thing I didn't like was Windows 10 OS.So I bought a serial for Windows 8.1, downloaded the .ISO on Microsoft website, installed it on USB-drive and installed a fresh Windows 8.1. So all CLEAN.Like always first thing is to start with install Drivers of course. So I downloaded Everest and put it on USB-stick. (Easy program to show which hardware)I already checked on (this computer>manage>device manager) and saw there same; Realtek pci family controller for Network.(Now I wanted to check it before posting this but since I just deleted all drivers 10 min. ago, since didn't work, I no see any visible.) But I'm pretty sure it was Realtek PCI Family Controller. So I downloaded the drivers from the Realtek website, and installed it. Rebooted, but still same problem.Anyway I saw also that Motherboard says: "Unknown" on Everest so I think I need drivers for that also but don't know which ones? Same for some USB drivers but I think this is included with Motherboard. The problem is that I just can't choose any Wifi.In Manager the only option is: Flight mode: On/Off (=Off)Bluetooth: On/Off (=Off) I don't see Wifi.I'm trying for hours + yesterday so hope find solution here, otherwise I will install Windows 7 and try that. Thanks in advance!

Hi fellow helpers, In urgent need of help (I guess everyone is in need of that over here) I have two questions.  1. I purchased the Lenovo Ideapad 500 15ISK laptop in October 2016. I regisitered it on Lenovo support in December 2016, however i noticed that my laptops warranty runs out on 7th February 2017. Its been 4 months since I purchased this laptop and the warranty was for 1 year. How is this possible that it runs out in 4 months? 2. I have been having problems with the laptops wifi connectivity. While I am browsing the internet, for some reason the webpage keeps on loading for 2-3 minutes before loading completely. My old laptop, tablet and work fine without any delays. I have virgin media 50MB. I have updated the drivers but still no solution and this occurs few times everyday. It is starting to really annoy me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ThanksJackson

After a longer period of just frustration about the wifi of my Lenovo IdeaPad 500S-13ISK I started to investigate abut that issue. I use a Fritzbox 7390 DSL-WLAN-Router and frequently the communication stops to work. According https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-IdeaPad-100-305-500-Edge/SOLVED-IdeaPad-510s-Qualcomm-QCA9377-sl... it could be solved by "disabled the WMM/QoS on ... router", but my router doesn't offer that. Using a web search shows, that other notebook manufacturers are exchanging the qualcomm with a intel module fro free on demand.Does lenovo offer such a free service also?

Greetings. I have a Y700 Touch-15ISK Laptop (ideapad) which i bought for both school and gaming, but i've had many problem with the wireless adapter: * Sometimes when i turn on my pc, the wireless adapter doesn't even show when i open network and sharing center.* Other times, it does start but doesn't find any Wireless connection, so stays "offline" all the time.* After the previous problem, i proceed to do the typical turn off then on, but after turning the adapter off it disappears and i have the first problem again* When it does work, if i have to put my laptop to sleep, when i turn it on again, the adapter shows a "warning" icon, so i have the second and third problems. So far i've been looking in the forums and other websites trying to find a solution based on people who have had a problem like this, but never had any success, until now that i want to play games online, i find it frustrating that i have to shut down and turn on somewhere between 2 and 8 times until the adapter really works. So far i've tried uninstalling the driver, restarting and then having the OS automatically install it, also downloading one from Intel and installing it myself;  The device manager always says that the device is working properly, and that the driver installed is up to date, but when the adapter disappears it says that the device doesn't exist. The adapter is Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165

Hi Zenadbeg,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that your Y510p laptop is not working as expected and takes long time to boot into Windows, below are the steps to check and resolve the issue in the computer:

Remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer.
Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect only the AC Adapter and try to turn ON the computer.
If the issue persists even after performing Flee Power then resetting BIOS to its defaults should resolve the issue
To access the BIOS menu click the NOVO button which at the left-hand side of the computer next to AC power adapter jack.
Then to reset the BIOS to its defaults click on ?F9? Key and select YES.
Now Click on ?F10? Key to safe the changes that are done in BIOS, restart the computer and check if the issue is resolved.

Hope this helps!!!

Do post us back if the issue persists.

Best Regards

Shiva Kumar

Since I opened the box I have had problems with this laptop.  I have seen a lot of people posting issues relating to the video card error - Lenovo has posted a driver solution for some models, but it has not fixed mine yet.  Aside from this error and the diagnostic failing, apps are constantly crashing, screen flashing non-stop on certain websites or doing certain functions, screen blackout, etc.  Hoping this is all related to the video card error and not some additional problem.  Anyone else having these problems?  Any timeline on the fix?  I have been trying to be patient but it's getting increasingly frustrating... especially with a $1000 brand new laptop...

I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad 510 laptop and spent days transfering and setting up all my programs and files. After a while I noticed a vertical line down the monitor and the resolution was not as good as my old HP but, as I had put in so much effort (and money) into setting it up, and because I need a computer for my job (could not be without it for days), I delayed in sending it back. Now it is out of warranty and the resolution and vertical line problem is still there, I googled the issue but could not find a solution. I am very disapointed with the Lenovo product and would hesitate before buying another Lenovo product. Has anyone out there had this problem and how can I fix it?

So I'm currently in the process of trying to order myself a new AC Adapter for my Lenovo Ideapad, but my issue is finding the correct AC Adapter for my computer. I've spent three or four hours trying to find the correct one, yet the one Lenovo list on their website with the Ideapad 700 series (http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/itemdetails/888015027/460/B5F03F2D7A74472998C11037ACE71BFB?sb=:000001CC... has the incorrect part number. The part number on my AC Adapter is 5A10J46690, the one Lenovo lists to buy is 888015027, what I need to know (Which I can't figure out) is whether or not this is the same AC Adapter as the one I have currently, which does not work. Seeing as I can't find a single adapter matching the part number of my current one. To clarify slightly, my laptop is the Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU00APUS. Apologies if I picked the wrong category for this, I'm new to the forums and majorly need the help.

It all worked fine, and boosted my gaming framerate quite a bit in PlanetSide 2 and Skyrim. ( I used NvidiaInspector to overclock, btw.) I went back to the overclocking interface, and accidentally set the memory rate to around +1300mhz. I then, without realizing, clicked on set OC settings, and it crashed my card. It rebooted, but now whenever I go into Nvidia Inspector to check my clock/mem speed, they're both set on 405mhz while idle or if there's a high load on my card. It's been stuck like this for a few hours, and I've tried several tweaks to fix it, including a reboot, rolling back the drivers, and then reinstalling the drivers, etc., with no resolve. I really need some help, as this is affecting my gaming horribly, and I'm getting terrible framerates. Please give suggestions/fixes as quickly as possible!

Thanks,
DDInc

Quick Specs-
i-ball baton 150m router
my home pc with win xp sp2
Lenovo notebook with Windows 7 ultimate

Okay.....I am simply trying to connect my Win7 notebook to the wireless router, but i JUST don't know which network settings are misconfigured and i have tried everything and anything to figure this out but i fail to do so.
The laptop connects but with a persistent messge "no internet access". I am sure i entered the right passkey and enabled the wifi on router configuration page(192.168.1.1 from pc).
My notebook's wifi and ethernet adapter are both set on "Obtain an IP add automatically" and "obtain DNS server automatically". The lan card on pc with win xp is also configured the same way.
I tried declaring the ip and subnetmask explicitly on wlan adapter but it still fails to connect. I don't know...the prblm is in router's configuration or adapter settings or both could be misconfigured?
I tried several methods multiple times but i am so frustrated...none of them is working.
Please help me out....

I just got a Lenovo & had a bit of an issue getting it on the net. I has to go to my ISP setup & unhide myself for the lenovo to connect. Then when I hid myself the connection at next boot was gone.

Can't remember exactly what I did but it was something to do with the ISP settings.

Will check it out now.

Hello, boys!  I have a big problem with this notebook.  1. What graphics card installed in laptop. M385 or M385X?  Official site AMD don't know nothing about  M385X. Devlopers AMD site said about device with id 6646.80 this M385 (without X) 2. When I try to turn off the laptop, to sleep or hibernation select, he rebooting. Even in the course of work, happens, he rebooting. What I did:- Use Lenovo Recovery System with fabric Windows 10- Update all Programm Software and Drivers and Windows 10 from Lenovo- Install Clear Windows 10 with unlenovo drivers- Use drivers for M385X and just M385- Update to latest BIOS Logs don't know about this reboots. Just they said about Systeam Failure. The problem remains. Only the frequency of events differs. And after reset the laptop goes to cyclic loading. What do you think about this?

I have a lenovo ideapad y510p and everything was fine until for I thought I'd do the battery reset in the lenovo energy management,at first the battery was dead and laptop wouldnt turn on,,I found one way around this which is that first I take the battery out and then insert the ac adapter, the laptop turns on then I put it in hibernate while I insert battery after which it seems to charge but only after I do these steps, but if I take the adapter out and insert it back in,it would stop charging.this is all because of the lenovo energy management software battery reset.I've uninstalled it but it doesnt work.any suggestions?I'm guessing one of the steps after full charge during the battery reset the battery gets drained where it says "plugged in and not charging" until it reaches zero is the problem.
