log off executions

Q: log off executions

I would like to be able to execute a batch script as users log off a windows 98 system. I know that there are many ways of executing a program as users log on, however the way my script works it would be most effective if it ran as the user logged off.
Any ideas are welcome, thanks

Preferred Solution: log off executions

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello guys,

I googled for these symptoms everywhere but could not find anything.
I would deeply appreciate any help I could get on this.
It all started 2 days ago, I turned my PC usually and proceeded to work. I have a habit of looking at task manager every several minutes, just to make sure of things. So I saw several copies of Winlogon.exe Normally that would not be a problem, but I am not running several user accounts on this PC and therefore I did not expect to see several winlogon.exe-s. Well, I let it slip and the next thing I know there are 130 Winlogon.exe running.
I rolled system 2 days back but the same thing happened. At some point (around 200 proccesses) winlogons crash and leave only 4-5 of them hanging in process list.
As I found out the day after, not only winlogon.exe is affected. Same happens when I run firefox. It took me 20 minutes to get on the forum alone. Right now all winlogon.exe-s died but i have around 70 firefox.exe running, but only 1 actual browser window. I can see which one of those is actual browser window because I can see proportionally more memory that it is using. When I started up firefox they kept spawning around up to 150 copies and then started crashing.

I am attaching the copy of dxdiag.

Please advise on this, I could just reinstall windows, but I am very interested what might cause this behavior.

Thanks to all that care. I'm like a biology professor looking at these multiplying:))

Have you tried scanning for viruses / malware?

Lately when I have tried to open an installation EXE for a vocaloid, it would execute the file over and over again (confirmed by checking the processes in the windows task manager). It started once I downloaded Daemon Tools Lite and I have since then deleted that and the vocaloid installation. I think that may have fixed the problem but I would still like to see if there are any lingering problems that may pop up later on.
Also, I am pretty sure I have access to a windows Boot CD but I am not 100% sure.

These popups are occurring about once a day. They have various names, and Google searches on the DLL names are returning no items. SpyBot appears to believe that I'm clean, as does SuperAntiSpyware. Funny thing - neither SpyBot nor SuperAntiSpyware start automatically upon startup any longer (this has me worried...)

Per Windows Update instructions, I recently updated to IE 8. This may/may not (probably!) was around the time the popup began occurring, but better to be safe than sorry.

Another issue I've encountered recently, around the same time frame, is that my SigmaTel C-Major Audio card has stopped working. Device Manager seems to think it's functioning properly. I've tried disabling/re-enabling it, as well as shutting down/starting up the system. No help. I've tried using the WIndows troubleshooting tool to help fix it. Nada.

One other thing that happened around the same time that's probably unrelated - I stopped receiving email notifications from Facebook (stop laughing.) No settings were changed.

Any help on any of my crap would be appreciated.

Last week my system got significantly slower.  Task Mgr shows a lot of "dllhost.exe" tasks running, stealing all my memory, and dramatically slowing my system.  Since then Norton has reported multiple virus attacks being stopped.
How can I fix this?

A:dllhost.exe multiple executions taking all my memory

Welcome aboard  It looks like Powerliks malware. It'll require elevated help. Please follow the instructions in THIS GUIDE starting at Step 6. I'm new to ATA and started testing it in our domain. ATA reports DNS recon and I tried running wmic and psexec commands as decribed in the ATA playbook:
wmic /node:dc1 process call create ?net user /add InsertedUser pa$$w0rd1?
psexec \\dc1 -accepteula net localgroup ?Administrators? InsertedUser /add
For both I get an access denied (which is correct for the user I'm testing with). Shouldn't those tries also get reported in ATA? I don't see any message so far for those attempts.
