MSAccount Needs Attention - Return yet again of an old issue

Q: MSAccount Needs Attention - Return yet again of an old issue

Old Thread, return of same issue. Account needs attention/Fix me throws error ox80070057 - which as near as I can tell refers to acl as to file(s) and/or registry keys. I don't think its the Win Pro 64 Build 11102...because i can make an iso, either from this one's esd file or one of my other systems, and re-install over it as an upgrade, with no issues.

i don't think its the account either. .I've got at least two msa's that are insiders, and this issue appears on this one system with either.

i suppose as long as ONE of my systems is working, I can continue to do others with iso's, which to me is far more sensible anyway. AFAIK update is designed to patch; shoe-horning re-imaging into it seems like a poor strategy, and has proved considerably more trouble-prone than the old methods...download exe or msi or cab or iso, and go from there.

(This system and two others have had this error before..rtm builds seem to remove it, sometimes preview build installs cause it once again).

Preferred Solution: MSAccount Needs Attention - Return yet again of an old issue

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

While inspecting the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\winlogon I noticed the Default User Name still holds a previous record of previous ISP email address existing previous to Jan 2015.
I did go into the Microsoft account and change the default email for the Win10 Microsoft Acct when I changed servers.
Obviously, there hasn't been an issue with this inaccurate registry default user entry but I wondered if it should be changed in the registry.

The reason I went to that registry entry was due to the Pin log in routine.
Yesterday the pin log in was not acceptable and I had to use the original password. The Anniversary update kb3189866 has been installed for a few days so it isn't a direct result.
I thought it might be connected to the fact I was trying to get a share working from the laptop(Home,MS account) to the Desktop (Pro, local account, no log in).It was an unsuccessful effort.
This morning the laptop log in was a choice structure -use password or use pin-2 icons. Previously I just started typing the Pin into the log in bar.
Is this the log in routine now?

I'm supporting T460s and T560s for my job and in the last month have had 3 battery issues occur out of no where. I'm using Windows 10 64-bit. I'd like to find a solution from the forums or at least a way to find what is causing this so I can plan for other laptops to go bad.  In the last month, I've dealt with 3 Thinkpads that have had a sudden change of heart about finding Battery #2. Nothing special happened. I booted, looked at the system information to see if this one has the specs to setup for a specific user and BAM - "Battery 2 not found". I was really hoping to get this all setup and out to a user who's using a 5 year old laptop.  I've ran Lenovo's System Update; I've updated Windows; I've downloaded the Power Management software from Lenovo yet still this battery is not found. I took it apart to ensure the battery was seated correctly. I re-imaged it from an image from last summer. Nothing.  Are these faulty batteries? Does that battery recall need to be expanded again? Is it the Motherboard? Is this a string of bad luck? How do I identify what the cause is? I refuse to believe this is coincidence.

i was able to resolve the beeping sounds that come from my msi motherboard. everytime i log on to a limited user account i get four beeps and after testing the ram which has no defects i reset my ami bios to default settings. i got 8 beeps. and to put the story short, the bios beeps are due to an issue with gainward's expertool. i dont get it when i change to an admin account but when i change it back the beeps come back. i removed the expertool and the beeps are gone but one problem: i can not tweak my video card. i guess there is a conflict in the programs of my pc but is the mobo still defective? wht is your opinion? should i return it or not?

Howdy,

First, I edityed out you email before the web crawlers rendered it totally useless. They are just searching for a few new, valid email addresses to cram with spam.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that Display the contents of System Folders' is checked. Windows XP's search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that Search system folders, Search hidden files and folders, and Search subfolders are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After... Read more

Lotsa nasties there......You need to start with some tools to soften them up a bit....

==========

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After we are finished with your log file and verified that it's clean, you may turn it back on and create a new restore point.

You have the Peper infection. Download PeperUninstall. Make sure you are connected online to run this program. Run it once and reboot. Then run it again for the second time. Download PeperFix and save it to your Desktop. Run it and click Find and Fix (reboot if prompted).

Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Also go here to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. To run this tool, go into Ad-aware->Add-ons and select VX2 Cleaner. Then click Run Tool and OK to start it. If it's clean, it will say Status System Clean. Otherwise, you will have to click on the Clean button to remove the VX2 infection. Also make sure to customize the settings in Ad-aware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds.

If you have a fast internet connection (broadband), run an online virus scan at TrendMicro. Just follow the instructions on the site to run the online scan. Otherwise, make sure your antivirus program ha... Read more

Alright I have asked this many times without any response and I was hoping thats someone can help. I cannot burn cd's. I use Nero and Alcohol 120%, but it freezes every time I try and burn. I used to burn cd's all the time, but it has been a few months. I have tried everything I could think of. I updated every possible driver and my bios, I even reformatted. No luck.

SYMPTOMS
1. Drive reads cd's fine
2. When I try to burn a CD sometimes it sounds like the drive is spinning up and sometimes it doesnt
3. Drive spins up to .3kbps for about 2 seconds and goes to 0 when burning
4. Occasionally a cd will be successful (1 out of 30)

So I would really appreciate it if someone can help. It is seriously driving me insame. Thanks in advance

I sometimes get the Attention No Signal on my Advent P22W monitor. I recently installed Windows 7 on an HP Pavillion Desktop. I have had a friend who knows more about computers than I do have a look at it - he downloaded updated drivers and kept it running for 5 days without any problem. I brought it home and it is now a bit 'hit and miss' if it actually works.

Yesterday I reinstalled Windows 7 and kept the PC on all day - used the internet, played scrabble...nothing too exciting on it. This morning when I switched it on back came the 'Attention No Signal' message.

The Advent monitor is working perfectly well with another desktop. I have changed the VGA (?) cable; I have changed the power cable; I have tried it on a TV/monitor with HDMI and still I have this 'hit and miss' situation.

I've looked at other posts but to be honest as one of the computer illiterate mentioned on another post - none of it makes much sense to me. If anyone is patient enough to help explain what I can do simply I would be very grateful

My laptop won't focus on one thing at a time. I have internet up and I have to re-click it because it flicks off, asthough there is a pop up; yet nothing is there and no other programmes are running.

It does this with fullscreen too, I cant watch movies, play games or anything. It comes off fullscreen after about ten to twenty seconds. My computer technician guy said something about the graphics card.. but he didnt say how to fix it! My laptop has the graphics card 'separate' or something if that helps at all.

any help is much appreciated!

U3 FLASH drives have that capability. You can run email, web browsing, and many other applications, and never leave a trace on the host machines.

My question is ... how can i get some more information on the U3 FLASH drive, and can You run the e-mail as in "Send and recieve" or is it just to operate application like getting contact information.

I'm needing an e-mail that won't leave a trace on the host computer/server. Any help will be great!

Or is there? Has anyone overcome this absurd bit of crap programming short of a clean reinstall? (Which is what I had to do last time it cropped up.) If you all can help me get it sorted, I'd be most grateful... I really do not want to do another clean install. In fact, it might be the end of my participation in the Insiders Program.

I was getting that for a while. It seemed that when I first installed W10 I logged on with one email address, and when an update came out somehow I logged on with another, which meant that I kept getting the "Fix Me" warning. Okay so, my PC had been through some unhealthy activities and had to be factory restored.

Now I've got much more space but I'm missing alot of stuff.

If someone could read my HJT log and help me out then that would be great.

You see my problem is this reoccuring amount of desktop (20) icons and also a new red circle/white X icon in the system tray near the time display... I don't know how to permanantly remove them.

Along with that, the desktop background (wallpaper) has disappeared and is now a blue screen with some kind of warning on it. It says:

i have been using the same one for years (Avast) with no troubles.
Today I saw that it was off and I couldnt turn it on.

I am a pretty bright guy.
IT WOULD NOT LET ME WORK WITH IT.
I had to reinstall.

I cant say if it was a new type of virus just yet and I WILL look into it.

For now just keep an eye towards your protection.
At boot MAKE SURE that your AV is operational before doing anything else.

I am going to get in touch with the security people and discuss this.

I will update this thread.

A:[SOLVED] Attention everyone!!!

I assume you re booted first before deleting and reloading.

Won't hurt to run a couple of standard scans.

I can not find any Programs which will produce snap Shots using my Web Cam. Intel's Software produces the Images with too many Pixels for any of my Programs to handle. So My Software just Locks up, and there is no easy way to reduce the SIZE of the Images Produced.

I tried Downloading Every Updated Driver I could find. Still nothing.
I have a DVD Burner but I have not been able to Burn one good Dvd yet because Nero keeps Locking up because it Tries to use Direct X Accelerator, and Intel has it's OWN independant Graphics Accelorator called "Extreme Graphics" which doesn't work good with other Software.

I Have a Dozen different DVD Burning Programs and Video Making Software but none of them are working right. They Create Files that are not Reckognized by Windows Media Player which basically makes them useless to anyone outside my own little world. The only Program I DON'T have is Windows Media Maker, because IT only operates on XP OS, and I am Running Win98.

The following information is straight from the ZDNET site:

A very clever mass-mailing worm is spreading rapidly across the Internet.

Fizzer ([email protected]) has many different components, each timed to trigger different processes, making it quite difficult to contain.

The worm spreads via e-mail and includes its own SMTP engine to bypass any security your e-mail client may have. Fizzer also spreads via KAZAA, a popular file-sharing application.
The worm is self-updating, connecting to a GeoCities account for the latest update, and it also establishes its own accounts on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) and AOL Instant Messenger, in order to await further instructions from the virus author.

Fizzer attempts to disable any antivirus program running at the time of infection. Systems infected with Fizzer could be used in distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on other computers.

Fizzer includes a keystroke-logging Trojan horse, which can be used to steal passwords words and credit card information.

Because Fizzer spreads via e-mail and Kazaa, contains a keystroke-logging Trojan horse, and could be used in a DDoS attack, this worm rates a 7 on the ZDNet Virus Meter.

How it works
Fizzer arrives as e-mail with several possible subject lines and body texts. The From: address can be forged and therefore should not be trusted. Fizzer's attached files contain one of the following extensions: .com, .exe, .pif and .scr.
