Preferred Solution: Netscape unable to locate server

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Netscape unable to locate server

Assuming you have a good internet connection (meaning it's connecting/downloading from everywhere else ok)... there's nothing you can do about that error. It's Netscape's way of saying the page or file does not exist.

In light of the recent Microsoft "hacker" problems, I'm sure it will work if you go back and try again now. Especially if it was one of Microsoft's direct links. There was a period of 3 days where nobody was able to get anything from any of Microsoft's sites. Should be okay now...

Oh yes, one more word of advice. Microsoft doesn't like it when users go to their site with Netscape. I mean that only IE sees certain download items/buttons in their pages. Perhaps it's their way of feeling superior, or they use certain browser plugins not found in Netscape... so just use IE whenever trying to download anything from Microsoft, especially automatic updates.

Hi guys:

We have 3 computers connected to a hub forming a LAN using a DSL modem for shared internet access. One of the computers is a server and the other 2 are clients. A few weeks ago, one of the clients began receiving a recurring message: "Netscape unable to locate server xxxx" (the x's represent any website). Prior to a few weeks ago, no problem. We have attempted just about every trick in the book (reinstalling Netscape, removing and reinstalling everything in "Network", checking TCP/IP stacks, etc.). You name it, we tried it. We are using Internetshare's "All_Aboard" software. We've corresponding with them on numerous occasions, but they have no answers. We've browsed Netscape's online knowledge base at: http://help.netscape.com/ with no luck. What are 3 perplexed techies to do? As we said, only one client on this small LAN is afflicted with that dreaded error message. If someone has asolution, he/she will be given an all-expense paid vacation to the Bill Gate's estate. (just kidding) Seriously, any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

A:NETSCAPE UNABLE TO LOCATE SERVER...

Did you try reinstalling the NIC on the client? Are you running NT/2000? If so, how is the administration set up? Was there one point in time a few weeks ago when it suddenly stopped finding the server? Where or what was the client doing? Or just out of the blue one morning when user logged in?

So I've been (succesfully) going to this site www.cyworld.com in the past until two-three days ago. I use Opera but it didn't work with FireFox either, and I doubt it'd work with Internet Explorer. =3= I googled "proxy" and clicked some random stuff and somehow it works when using a proxy? (albeit it loads very slowly and it doesn't show everything, I couldn't really click on stuff either).

I did a ping test, by the way. So I don't think there's anything actually wrong with my connection. I asked other people if they could access the site and they could. :/

EDIT: Nevermind, it's fixed. I didn't even do anything, suddenly I could go back on it. Sorry for the people with a similar problem. :[

EDIT 2: Nevermind, it's broken again. I don't get it. =__=

We have a network of 20 PCs and 20 Macs with manually assigned IP addresses of 192.168.100.3 - 199, and use OpenDNS for DNS service for filtering purposes. We use a Netgear Router (WNDR3400) for DHCP, and the range assigned is 192.168.100.200 - 254.

IF we allow DHCP assigned addresses (on PC) we get a IP address of 100.100.100.1xx, subnet mask of 255.255.252.0. with a gateway of 100.100.100.102 ! If I allow DHCP on Macs, I get a 169.xxx.... address, which I know is internal. If I allow DHCP on WiFi on Macs, I get 100.100.100.1xx.

How do I find out where this address is coming from? Is it one computer that is broadcasting this? Or is on multiple computers. I've thought of unplugging them one-by-one and then renewing the lease to see if I can nail it down, but if more than one, I would be chasing my tail.
Does this sound familiar?

I have other issues on PCs, such as not being able to browse workgroup computers. It tells me that "Workgroup is not accessible... The network path was not found." Aaargh

Thanks for your help, or even trying.. I'm lost and the local tech I brought in just scratched their head and took my money.

A:Rogue DHCP Server and how to locate

Is it one computer that is broadcasting this?Click to expand...

Maybe it is computer(s), but I would suspect a router.

Don't know how to track either down other than by walking around and looking for a router. Or with a Wi-Fi detector walk around looking for a wireless network that shouldn't be there. You can use a laptop as a Wi-Fi detector with utilities such as the Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector (or gadget).

Or maybe Advanced IP Scanner (or similar) would help. Scan for one of the IP ranges and then for the other. If you find a router that shouldn't be there, or a computer on both networks, maybe that would give a clue.

A:Error! Could not locate remote server

Hi Shakya!

The problem here could be with your DNS settings. It is the DNS server which is usually responsible for translating a domain name to the domain server and redirecting a website request. Something like www.google.com > 208.67.219.230

What you can do is that ping your DNS server and see if the response time is slow. IMO anything less then 400ms is good.

If the DNS seems slow then you can use a public DNS such as open DNS. Just change your DNS seetings to manual (in you rrouter if you are using one, else in your modem/computer as applicable) and change the values to

Primary DNS - 208.67.222.222
Secondary DNS - 208.67.222.220

This is in case you wish to use Open DNS. To know more about this service you can check out their website @ www.opendns.com; There are plenty of other free public dns servers so you can google them and ping them to see which one gives you a better response time.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

P.S- Just to make sure, to ping you dns, check your network connection properties and note down the values in front of DNS servers; Next open a command prompt (Start > Run > cmd > OK/enter) qnd type 'ping <DNS SERVER VALUES>' without the quotes qnd press enter: This will show you the response time of your DNS server.

Hello,

I am one of three webmasters, who have a site called [deleted by mod], which is a site and forum for Football(Soccer) Manager games. On Sunday, the site went down. We checked the licensing of the board(IPB), which was fine, we also checked our server hosts(WebFusion), and they say everything is fine at their end, and finally, we checked our domain name[deleted by mod], which is also OK.

Here is the domain registration details- [deleted by mod]

The admin that pays for the hosting and the like has paid up to date, in fact all registrations etc have been paid in the past month as per usual. The real problem is, our site is still offline, and we are losing regular visiting members and posters to the forums.

What can we do to get back up and running?

I checked the connection with the switch and changed cables with one that worked and still got the same message : "local network cable unplugged". The NIC lights were amber color so I figured it may be the NIC that was not working. It was an integrated NIC. I found an old NIC lying around (Intel) and installed it in a PCI slot. The lights are now green and the network connection is OK but the user cannot access any network folders and gets the following message when logging off: "Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on with your local profile. I was browsing the net the other day and window popped up saying that AVG had detected a virus in C:/Documents and Settings and that a scan should be run to get rid of it. I shut down all of my programs and ran the anti-virus to search in C:/Documents and Settings. It came up empty. I then checked for updates, found one, and then restarted AVG and had it scan the whole C drive while I did some housework and showered. Coming back to the computer about an hour later I saw that AVG had "Encountered an unknown error and had to be terminated". Hi,

You may have an issue with DNS resolution of specific sites. This happens from time to time, and is normally an ISP issue. Let's see this:

Start, Run, CMD

TRACERT <URL of problem site>

<URL of problem site> is the actual URL of the site you're having issues with.

Right click in the command prompt, use Select All, and paste the results into a message here.

I play League of Legends http://www.leagueoflegends.com/ and I have for well over a year and I know that my computer can handle. Then the other day Norton was installed onto my computer for safety, since then whenever clicking play on my launcher a message pops up.
"drwtsn32.exe - Unable To Locate Component
This application has failed to start because dbgeng.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
The same problem happened when I tried to click "open" on Doctor Watson. My DxDiag says everything is fine and I believe something is wrong with that, I don't know what to do, if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Your first move should be to turn on Windows Update and get your system updated. You are still on SP2 which is no longer supported by Microsoft, the Windows Update will get you up to SP3. That alone may cure the problem.

Follow this guide to slipstream your copy of XP with SP3, that can then be used to run the System File Checker which will replace any missing or damaged files.

http://www.helpwithwindows.com/WindowsXP/Slipstreaming_Windows_XP_Service_Pack_3.html

To run the system file checker Click on Start and type sfc /scannow (exactly as written here with the gap) into the search box and hit enter. Follow the prompts and insert the slipstreamed disc when requested.

I am getting this error message "ypager.exe - unable to locate dll"

The detail is as follow:

'The dynamic link library YImage.dll could not be found in the spcified path C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger;.;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT\system;C:\WINNT;.;Y:..'

I had uninstalled yahoo messenger a day ago and then I have been getting it when I reboot the pc.

How do I stop it from giving this message?

Is there a file where I go and remove the info manually?

Thank you.

Xander

A:ypager.exe - unable to locate dll help!!!!!

Hiyas

Looks like you're using either WinNT or Win2000, so Msconfig is out of the question. Looks like Regedit is the only other option unless you have something like TweakUI loaded.

Click Start -> Run -> Type Regedit -> Then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Open the Software key -> Scroll down to Microsoft and open it -> Windows -> Current version -> Run. Check what's starting in the Run key, look for your ypager and delete the reg value. That should sort it out hopefully.

Good luck
BW

I get the above message when I am trying to connect to a wireless network through my new archos. The Archos asked me to manually type in connection information. I located the IP address, Netmask (Subnet Mask), Gateway, and DNS server by selecting 'run' from the start menu, typing in 'CMD' and typing 'ipconfig/all'.

A reply to another thread on this site 'Error! Could not locate remote server' by Shakya, suggested that the problem could be with the DNS settings. I have pinged www.google.com on my PC and the result was approx 40 ms. I have also noticed that the Archos only allows for info for one DNS server whereas the PC uses both a primary and secondary DNS server.

Am I looking in the wrong place for the connection information as I have tried different IP address's and DNS server numbers. The other IP addresses etc, I have used, come from my ISP home page which is eircom broadband. Is there a reason they differ from the info given on the 'CMD' function.

I would appreciate any advice you can give me on this matter.
Many thanks

To what wireless network are you trying to connect? Why are you not using dynamic addressing?

For almost every file I have on my computer, I get an error message that often doesn't let me access the file.

For example:

It says...
rundll32.exe - Unable to Locate Component
This application failed to start because netbmrgxkmb.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem

The problem is that this happens with every application I try to open. Some still work, but many do not (like Firefox, Time/date on my computer, System Restore, etc)

I have searched everywhere online for this file but cannot seem to find it.

Please help.

Much appreciated. I have Windows XP by the way

So, I uninstalled IE and now I can't boot up. I'm getting an error that it's unable to locate component iertutil.dll. I found a fix to a similar problem but I can't make it work for me.

I'm supposed to use the winxp os system install disk. Go to start, run and type in: sfc /scannow. This is supposed to check and reinstall lost or corrupt files. The problem is I can't boot up to a point where I can select run. I can't even get into safe mode

If I boot with the system disk I can get into system repair. Is there a way to do this from DOS?

A:unable to locate component iertutil.dll

I just discovered that I can hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and get to Run thru the File menu of that window. I typed in the sfc /scannow command but when I hit Run I get basically the same error - This application has failed to start because iertutil.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem.

What now?

A:Explorer.EXE - Unable To Locate Component

That's a critical system file. You need to contact the computer manufacturer and request the Windows installation disks. Then you need to buy an external optical drive. Then run a Windows repair.

Hi,
when i first start my pc & also if i try to use microsoft works, i get this box.

This application has failed to start because WkWbl.dll was not found.
RE-installing the application may fix this problem.

I have no clue what I'm supposed to do. Help

A:WksWP.exe unable to locate component

I suggest you do what the error notice recommends and try reinstalling Microsoft Works. That certain file may of been corrupted or deleted somehow and needs to be reinstalled. Also, has this occurred with any other programs?

my operating system is windows xp sp2 32 bit, these days when i start my computer, i am getting an error as described below
pbuilder.exe- unable to locate component, the application has failed to start because PSPLOG.dll was not found. reinstalling the application may fix the problem. iam unable to download the .exe files,my adobe reader and cc cleaner are not working.recently a teleradiology soft ware was installed in my system through team viewer, i started getting this problem after that. how to fix this problem

A:pbuilder.exe- unable to locate component

The one thing i see right from the start is you need to update xp to SP3. sp2 is no longer supported.as to the others it means something got corrupted somewhere and isnt able to work correctly. when you used the cleaner i truly hope a registry cleaner wasnt used as that might be why theres problems.

I have two identical sata drives. They were previously configured at raid 0 so
reset and removed the raid config in my bios. I have a Asus p5wd2 Premium mobo.

When I try to install I get this error message
"Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate existing system partition"

I also do not see my other sata drive detected In Win 7 set up.

I tried to load some drivers from disk and from usb but it says no signed drivers were found. I am also unsure what drivers I need.

Any help would be appreciated.

A:Unable to create/locate partition

Hi Juligizzie

You need the drivers for your mobo sata controllers.
If you have your mobo drivers CD, look for a folder called raid.
