Preferred Solution: Lenovo Settings- Lenovo battery gauge icon in taskbar is missing

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello!I recently noticed that the Lenovo battery gauge icon is missing from my taskbar, I can't activate it, there's no way, I right-click the taskbar - > Toolbars -> Lenovo baterry Gauge, and it doesnt work. I also open Lenovo Settings and click "about and setting" and then try to set on "activate lenvovo battery gauge" , and nothing happens either, actually, the icon turns "on" but when I click elsewhere it goes back to "off". What can I do? What's happening?

Hi, a couple of weeks ago, I tried to open Lenovo Settings and it instruct me to uninstall it, as all functions are now integrated to Lenovo Companion. I did, but noticed that the Lenovo Battery Gauge still points me to Lenovo Settings (left click on the battery gauge). I uninstalled Companion, and Settings, rebooted, and installed companion again, but looks the Gauge does not uninstall. How can I remove the gauge and make it point to companion? Thanks!

I bought lenovo y500 two days ago in INDIA.  In the lenovo energy management system 8.0, I found a battery calibration option and decided to do it.  The steps mentioned there were as follows. 1. Full charge2. Full discharge  The process performed full charging followed by complete discharge of the battery which caused the laptop to shut down.   When I tried turning on my laptop, it could not start.  The battery charging indicator LED wasnt switched on even though the power cord was inserted into the laptop.  I could start the laptop only after removing the battery.   Once the laptop was on, I inserted the battery back in and it began to charge.  After about 50% of charging, I removed the power cord and inserted it again.  Now the battery couldnt resume charging.  I again had to shut down the laptop and repeat the above steps of inserting battery after switching on the laptop without battery.  Only then the battery would resume charging. After this, I decided to allow the battery to charge to 100%. But, the charging remained stuck at 99% and could not fully charge the battery.  When I removed and reinserted the power cord, the same problem persisted of battery not resuming charging. Please help me with this problem.  I read on few forums about uninstalling microsoft ACPI which supposedly solves this issue.  However, ACPI returns back after I restart my laptop.I also tried switch... A:LENOVO Y500 BATTERY NOT CHARGING AFTER USING LENOVO'S BATTERY GAUGE CALIBRATION

ADMIN Edit - While the original post below is marked as the solution, because service will be required if the battery will no longer charge after performing a battery reset, I am adding a Lenovo update here to confirm.   Normal operation will allow the battery to relearn its capacity characteristics when using the battery reset function.  Typically this is not needed in normal use..   Batteries are equipped with a safety feature that will permanently disconnect them (like a fuse) if cell imbalance or an internal short is detected.   This tends to be statistically infrequent, but also normal, and would require a battery replacement.  (Batteries have a 1 year warranty).   This battery feature can also  produce similar results to what is being discussed in the thread, so it should first be considered by service.   This particular  forum discussion also involves a situation that could affect a limited number of systems, and could lead service to replace the system board during warranty.

If your system experiences these symptoms, please contact service during the warranty period.

I have enabled the Lenovo Battery Gauge via Lenovo Vantage.  Two questions: 1.  From time to time (no regular schedule) it randomly disappears.  Why? 2.  Yesterday (1-30-2018) I had to re-enable it, and it appears to have doubled or tripled in size.  It used to be a nice, compact little icon, and now it's huge and a little distracting.  I couldn't find a setting to return it to its original size. Thank you for any assistance you might provide.

At some point in the last few days or weeks, the green battery indicator simply vanished from my X1 Yoga (Win10) without a trace, and it seems I'm not the only one with that problem. I tried downloading it from the support page, but the software was removed from the list, and a link from google only leads to a "page-not-found" message. So, what's going on? Will there be a new version of the battery indicator? Why was the old one uninstalled and not just simply updated via system update?

My Y50-70 battery is still in good condition after 3.5 years of use, I can tell by the fact that it lasts for more than 2.5 hours in High Performance mode going from 100% to 20%. I mostly use the laptop plugged in with Conservation Mode on. I regularily do cycles of the battery mostly when I'm traveling with Conservation Mode off. The cycle count is around 200, so I know it's half way its service life. However when the battery reaches around 20% I need to imediately plug it in, because then it could go down to 0% in a minute. In fact when it shows 20%, the moment I plug it in AC the battery gauge shows imediately 0% and then is slowly going up. I'm like 95% sure that the problem is with the battery gauge, and there was a Battery Gauge Reset option in the Lenovo Utilities preinstalled on the Windows 8 OS that came preinstalled when I bought it. Windows 8 and 8.1 were such a disasters but luckily then in less than a year came Windows 10 and everything ran smooth, except for the fact that Lenovo dropped half of the utilities to perform useful tasks like Fan Dust Removal and Battery Gauge Reset, instead they are offering useless software like Photo Master in the Support Section. Somehow I managed to install two years ago a version of Lenovo Quick Optimizer that does the trick for performing Fan Dust Removal but no luck with Battery Gauge Reset. My Lenovo battery gauge / indicator disappears. I'm on Windows 10. If I right-click the taskbar and remove then re-add it, it comes back. I've reinstalled it. I've tried prior version. Nothing seems to fix it.

Hello everyone! My name is Kevin and I've had my Lenovo Y410P for a little less than 2 years. So recently I downloaded Battery Bar as I was realizing that my battery duration was slowly receding.Battery Bar, a program that shows battery level and wear, stated that my 6 cell battery had experienced 54.3% wear. I browsed the internet for specific tips on how to increase my battery duration and came upon battery recalibration. I tried it a couple times manually, but I didn't get any results. So, I then turned to the battery gauge full-charge/discharge function in my Energy Management. After running that through the night, I realized the next morning that the battery was depleted and I couldn't turn on my laptop or even charge my battery unless I followed the steps:- Remove the battery from the laptop.- Plug in the AC adapter and use the laptop without a battery.- The battery can be reattached. The battery is able to start charging. - If I remove the AC adapter for a second and reattach it, it will not be recognized and it will not charge the battery. As of now, Battery Bar shows that I have 0% wear of 52,830 mWh which is significantly less than the full capacity of a 6 cell battery; however, it's still better than what I had before. Anyways, does anyone else have this problem? And if you have, how did you resolve this issue? Thank you!

After opening Lenovo Vantage, there will be a link to latest Lenovo System Interface Foundation , download(should be version 1.1.14.0) and install it.

Also to uninstall Lenovo System Interface Foundation see below

Hi, newbie here, hoping for some advice. (Sorry if this was already answered--can't find it on other threads, but might have missed it.) I have two W500s, both have Lenovo Settings app (Windows 10) on them. On one W500, Settings seems to have all the options, but for the other, "Smart Settings" and "Battery" are missing on the left-hand column (so, for example, I can't turn on battery stretch, check out the battery condition, etc.) I reinstalled everything on this W500, from Windows 10 to Dependency Settings Package to the Settings app, and still--nothing on that one W500. So, anyone who has ideas and inclination--why is the app showing up with full functionality on one W500 but not the other, and what can I do to get that full functionality? Thanks!

Just got a new Yoga 720 15", fully loaded version. I saw on youtube (OwnOrDisown) that he was able to turn on the battery meter/gauge. I read that you open Lenovo Settings then click on the gear in the lower left. I have nothing useful in that section, and in the battery settings of Lenovo Settings there is nothing to add percentage to taskbar or similar. Windows 10 also has no built-in battery percentage display (really?) other than the never-convenient hover over the battery icon method. Another setting that seems to be missing is the ability to control the Fn key. All of my F1 thru F12 keys are acting as multimedia keys, not as normal F1 thru F12 keys. Pushing Fn + ESC does not change the behavior. Looking in Lenovo Settings, there is nothing under Input...literally nothing...it has a couple spinning wheels for a few seconds then nada. I made sure I have installed every single download for this machine from Lenovo, still no battery gauge option or Fn key toggle. I literally can not push CTRL + F4, for example. The Alt key also doesn't force the F4 function like I've seen before (like, intelligent Fn switching when you push alt). I'm going to go make sure my BIOS is up to date and will report any change, though I doubt there will be. Kind of scratching my head here. Otherwise, I'm loving this machine.

A:Yoga 720 15" - Lenovo Settings is missing some stuff

OK I got into the BIOS and disabled "Hotkey mode". This restored the F1-F12 keys back to their normal functions, and holding Fn works to do the hotkey functions. Previously, they worked as hotkeys only and pushing Fn + F1-F12 still did the hotkey. Sadly, Fn + ESC doesn't toggle modes. I guess there is no Fn toggle now...except in Lenovo Settings which is SUPPOSED to have it but doesn't.

It wouldnt be the end of the world for me to have to backup and then restore. I just feel like there was zero effort to fix whatever the problem was, just restore it and start over.  Am I crazy?
