Q: How can I connect to Adobe Connect if I only get a blank screen wgen I test my connection at: Test your connection: https://meet94924985.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm

Hello,

I have an Adobe Connect meeting scheduled for tomorrow, and when I click on the link to test my connection to Adobe Connect, which I just installed, I get this message- what can I do? I am connected to the Internet, so Firefox does have permission to access
the Web.
"Hmm. We?re having trouble finding that site.

We can?t connect to the server at meet94924985.adobeconnect.com.
If that address is correct, here are three other things you can try:

Try again later.
Check your network connection.
If you are connected but behind a firewall, check that Firefox has permission to access the Web."

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Just found out I no longer am able to connect to HELP with both of my computers. Am running Windows Vista 32 in Home Premium and Ultimate. Don't know when it started, have not used HELP for some time. There are some old threads here on the subject with suggested fixes, none of them worked. Also found a couple of suggested fixes on the internet, still no go. My system restore goes back to 12/10, tried that too, did not work. Anything new on the subject?

A:You have lost your connection to the Windows Help and Support website. Try to connect

Welcome
Two computers with the same problem.
MY guess is that you are both SP1 or lower. Support has ended for SP1. Ugrade to SP2 and you will have more protection, features and Help
Go to the computer icon on desktop, right click, properties to see if you are SP 1 or 2.

Do not use this unless you are sure you have at least SP1

The documents just stack up in the queue, and i get a message that says "this document failed to print." Yes here's my advice, get rid of messenger and use another client, I have 4 kids, all of whom come to me constantly asking if the internet is down as MSN isnt working, my reply, " can you get a webpage up?, yes!, then its fine".

MSN has recently been plagued by server dropouts and you can bet your not alone.

Here's another example of the uselessness of MSN, My Wife can tell me that a friend of mine is online and has just signed in and wants to talk to me, so I open the old laptop and try to sign in..... 4 attempts later i finally get a connection.

Thank god I only use MSN occasionally.

Just been trying to set this up via my AOL connection. I'm using ICS and a crossover cable with my 360. My ADSL modem is a BT Voyager 105. I'm using a wired connection to my pc with the crossover cable. I've got through the IP address & DNS test ok, but it fails on the MTU one.

I've downloaded the DR TCP program and have changed the MTU setting for the network connection & the ADSL modem to 1365 - higher than the recommended limit.

I just don't understand this at all...I've set up a new connection to AOL with ICS enabled and this connects fine, just the XBOX fails on this mtu test and I can't get around it.

I understand from other people that AOL's mtu setting is ok, so not sure why this isn't working.

Anyone got any ideas on how to help a poor chappy in need?
Thanks in advance

A:MTU test failure when trying to connect to XBOX Live

o find the proper MTU Size, you'll have to do a special ping of the
destination you're trying to go to. A destination could be another
computer, or a URL.

1. Click on the Start button, then select the Run option.

2. In the "Open" field type in command (If you're using Windows
2K/NT/XP use CMD instead)

3. Once the window opens, you'll need to do a special ping. It
should be formatted:

ping [-f] [-l] [MTU value] [Enter] an e...e optimum
for the network we're working with.

Hi guys,

Since I moved house no ISP's provide cable in my area so I have had to make do with receiving my broadband through the telephone line. However I am having problems with connecting to the internet on my PS3. All devices in my house connect to the internet via a wireless connection and although the PS3 is fairly far away from the router it still receives around 80-90% signal strength.

The problem I get is that when I run a connection speed test through the PS3 it normally times out and reports as "failed" (if i leave it on this screen it does eventually change from failed to report a very low d/l speed).

I can usually solve this problem however by manually changing the channel that the router uses, alternating between 1,6 and 11 until i find one that works, I will then get around 3-4mbps until the next day (or at least a few hours) when I have to repeat this again.

Although it may sound like a simple enough work around it is frustrating, and doesn't always work (earlier for example I could not find a channel which enables a usable d/l speed). Does any one know what the cause of this is or better yet how to solve it permanently?

The router/modem is a netgear ADSL DGN1000SP and was provided by my ISP, I would imagine its pretty lame but I don't know if replacing it would solve the problem.

Thanks in advance...

A:PS3 Connection Speed test

on a further note, could it be anything to do with the router using 802.11n whilst the PS3 (i believe) still uses 802.11b/g, it should be backwards compatible shouldn't it?

I use dial-up [sob].

For the next couple of weeks I will temporarily have two ISPs. Both of them are local outfits here in Hawaii.

When the 2 weeks are done, I will drop one of these ISPs and keep the one which [hopefully] is the better of the two.

Both of these outfits are very reliable. I'm on a first name basis with the tech folks at both of them. They are friendly & helpful in every way. So my decision between them will have to be based mainly upon connection speed.

Right now the only thing I have for gauging their relative speeds is the little computer icon in my system tray which represents the fact that I am connected. As you know, when I float my cursor over that icon, it will tell the present connection speed, bytes sent, & bytes received.

For ISP #1, EVERY connection to date has reflected a speed of 53333 bps.

For ISP #2, the connection speed for about 40% of connections reflects a speed of 53333, just like ISP #1. The other 60% of connections show a speed of only 31200 bps. I mentioned this fact to their tech guy & he said that ALL their modems are 56k, & that the variance was likely caused by my phone line.

QUESTIONS:
1) How accurate are the speed readings that I get from the little computer icon in my system tray?
2) Is there a software program that will give me more definitive data about what is going on with my connection?

Concerning Q2, what I want is a program that will tell me whether a slow-down is because of [a] my dial-up co... Read more

I've been having some trouble for a while, so hopefully you can help!

I had a problem with my Dell inspiron 1420. My laptop was showing that the strength of my network is strong but it was not able to get connected. It was like showing "Identifying..Identifying".....

I have tried many ways to solve this problem. I have followed few threads also but was not able to solve it.

But I solved it. My solution was this

Open Network and SHaring center -> View status -> Properties -> select on Internet protocol Version (4) TCP/IP -> properties

The uncheck the 'get automatic Ip address and enter the static ip address of your wireless (see it from other laptop if it is getting connected). Also uncheck the "get automatic DNS address" and also do the same.

Try this guys, the problem might get solved. I know it pisses a lot when we have no wireless...

A:Wireless Network Connection will only connect to Internet if Lcl Area Connect disable

sounds about right! Your big issue will be the VPN, as it is frequently specifically
config'd to use a specific adaptor AND to force all tcp traffic thru that connection,
even though you want to do some trivial google.com search.

Consider using a Hardware Profile to define
1) a LAN connection environment (ie no WiFi)
2) a WiFi environment (w/o a LAN)

the choice occurs at boot time and the hardware is enabled/disabled per
the profile.

this is a problem adapter on vista whenever a change is made

Have a read through the following - the most common fix is the driver update - from the manufacturers website or from the atheros website

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Atheros Wireless Adapter - AR5007EG & AR5007

Over the last couple of years we have been seeing a lot of problems with the above adapters, mainly concerning WPA and WPA2 encryption and mainly on windows Vista.
We have seen just a couple of issues on other windows operating system, windows XP and windows 7.

Windows XP:- A driver update has resolved the issue
Windows 7 :- No conclusive results for a fix

The wireless adapter gets an IP configuration, and shows as connected, but communication is non-existent or sporadic.

Log into the Router and disable the wireless security and see if you are now able to connect to the internet and surf OK.
Please post back a reply here, and let us know if that works or does not work.
If you post back the make and exact model of the router - we can advise how to disable the wireless security

The majority of fixes are via installing a new driver from either the Manufacturers website and if that does not resolve the issue then from the atheros web site - see item (3)

Here are a number of possible solutions

Can anyone offer any explanation(s) for what appears to be the enormous disparity between the connection speeds I get from speed tests and the average speeds I'm getting with normal net trafficking? I spoke with an upper level tech rep for Comcast today (My ISP of course) and he had no explanations whatsoever.

And so you'll know my current system, my 3.0 Cisco modem is wired to my Linksys router, and my laptop is hardwired to my router (My Linksys wifi is ailing a bit and I'm about to get a new router....AC?, dual channel n?...but that's another issue). I also did some speed tests with my laptop hardwired directly to my modem (bypassing my router altogether), but the results didn't change

Attached below are a few screen clips...one shows my Ookla speed test results from a target server in Wash.D.C. (125 miles away) and the other is a summary of my average up and download speeds for the last 24 hours logged by a connection speed monitoring program called Bit Meter 2.

[NOTE: Before continuing, let's accept there will be some affects on speed by much greater physical distances that my normal net connections may encounter, and the speed capabilities of the equipment my web contacts possess may vary considerably, but even adding these factors together, and also allowing for whatever else I am personally aware, it doesn't come close to accounting for the enormity of the speed disparities that appear to be involved here.]

Hello, I am having bootup issues and any help would be appreciated.

Product Information

Model #: h8-1213c
Serial#: (removed content)
Product #: H2M23AA#ABC

Problem

I get the following screen upon bootup:

"Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 083)
Copyright (c) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation

For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v2.1.0.9 (08/12/11)

Check cable connection!
PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE ROM

Error: No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed."

Probable Causes

The problem happened shortly after it wouldn't let me upgrade to windows 10 due to windows 10 not being compatible with HP smart assist.

HP Hardware Diagnostics Test

HP Hardware Diagnostics v1.06.00 brings up the following

"Hard Drive
Connection Test - Failed
Error Code - 3F0"

Notes/Observations:

First time I encountered this message (1 month ago) I was getting a beeping pattern. Not getting that anymore.
I went into startup and restored defaults. That logged me into windows momentarily and then I think it reset by itself. It then took me to the black screen shown above.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello out there,

I am running Windows XP Professional SP2,About a month ago,I noticed my internet connection could not connect to secure web sites,or ftp sites, yet i can seem to conect to everything else.I tried uninstalling firefox, then re-installing it,and now firefox wont connect to ANY sites at all,and i am having to use Internet Explorer 7 to access the web,but i stil cant access https or ftp sites.
I have searched long and hard for anybody else that is having same problems, and found some people do have the same problem, but ive tried their solutions to no avail.

I have recently installed zonealarm, hoping it might fix the problm, but it has not.I cant even conect BitComet,or Skype, yet i have no problem accessing my e-mails from incredimail.
Also, for some reason when i am in explorer, and accessing websites,i cant open anything in a new tab,it just opens a blank page, and my Dial-up Connection box keeps flashing on and of the screen until the site is loaded.

Ive tried playing around with my network settings, but i only have the 1 pc,and i have a D-Link DSL-200 ADSL Modem attached, but no other computers.

Ive tried turning the XP Firewall off,but stil have same problems.
As you can probably understand,I am at my wits end.

Here is the information i get when i type ipconfig /all into my cmd prompt:

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]

A:Cant conect HTTPS or FTP,Cant Connect Firefox,But can connect normal sites with IE7

I had a similar problem when I changed firewalls. I used CA firewall and when I uninstalled it and started using Windows firewall, I found many ports closed. I opened a few ports using instructions from the Micorsoft site and am now able to access what I couldn't previously reach.

My browser is IE8. Window XP Home with SP2 (Sony VAIO Desktop PCV-RS420, Pentium-4, 2.8 Ghz, 512MB Ram). I am now unable to connect to the Internet. The network diagnostic for window XP kept saying to check firewall settings for HTTP(port 80), HTTPS(port 443), and FTP (port 21).  I don't know how to do that. I open the Window firewall settings on the Security Center page (Exception tab), it lists programs and services on the "Exception", ie, to not block incoming network connection from these programs or services, which include "Internet Explorer",on the list, which seems to be appropriate.  But my computer still will not connect to the Internet--very frustrating.  I  have done "System Restore" a few times to an earlier dates, thinking maybe the computer picked up some virus and the System restore function should temporarily resolve that issue.  But still no luck.   Finally, I tried connecting to a secured website with "HTTPS" in the address bar and the computer appeared to be successful to connect to these HTTPS sites, but it continued to refuse to connect to a regular website(i.e. with "HTTP" in its address bar).  Please help me resove these internet connection issues I would vey much appreciate.

A:Internet Explorer will not connect to HTTP, but will connect to HTTPS

<<My browser is IE8. Window XP Home with SP2...>>

May have nothing to do with your problem...but you really need to install SP3 and all critical updates since its issuance...that may take care of your problem, but even if it doesn't...your system will be less vulnerable.

Installing or reinstalling SP3... has been known to overcome various previous system problems.

Sounds to me like corruption affecting non-secure websites, so you may also want to reinstall IE8.

Hi there,
I'm hoping someone can help me out with this because I have tried everything I can think of with no luck.

My brother had just moved in and tried to install a wireless router and apparently everything was running fine for about 5 minutes and then the connections went weird:

When trying to connect to some websites an error message appears (can not display page) when diagnostics are run it says the connection to http and https is running fine, but it is unable to connect to ftp sites. Could be a problem with firewall settings.

I get the same message when trying to connect to windows live messanger and running the troubleshoot. FTP connection problem, check the firewall.

I had zone alarm installed, turned it off, and checked the sites, still no connection. So I turned it back on, changed a few program settings (to ensure it was allowing messanger.exe and explorer.exe) still didn't work. Uninstalled zone alarm, turned on the windows firewall and that's where it is now.

My brother called into my service provider, they got him to run a bunch of spyware/antivirus diagnostics, nothing came up (as it shouldn't I have PC Tools anti virus and spyware running) and then told him it seemed as though the connection was fine but a program on the computer was blocking some specific sites. So obviously no help there.

Anyone have any idea what could be the problem? I can't access my mail in outlook (pop3 server can't connect) and pretty much any website. google.com works, faceboo... Read more

Hi tennille578,There are many possible reasons this is happening and the contributing factors vary for every individual computer.Start by clearing old files and settings may be preventing you from connecting to the Internet.Click on Tools.Select Internet Options.Click the General tab.Click the Delete Files button. When the box opens, put a check in Delete All Offline Content.Click Okay.Click Delete Cookies. When you are prompted to confirm this selection, click Okay.Click Settings.Click View Objects.Click View, and then click Details. If Damaged appears in the Status column for any program file, remove that program file.Close the Downloaded Program Files dialog box.In the Settings dialog box, click OK .Under History, click Clear History, and then click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the selection. In the Internet Options dialog box, click Okay.Try to browse the Internet. If no joy, lets see if we can try and repair the internet connection.Try running Winsock XP fix. This utility can fix tricky most connection problems.See if there is anything in this Micro$oft Article that helps: Page Cannot be Displayed

This is weird. I thought that if you have a technology to make a product on the side, might as well offer that same technology in a package you're offering (paid package).

I remember about two months ago I was doing stress testing just to test the stability of my computer. Whenever I did a test that tested a lot of RAM, the test would fail within minutes and it would say "Execution Halted.."

Just recently I did an RMA with kingston and they sent me 2 brand new sticks of RAM which I installed. I just now got around to testing again but the test still fails within minutes - I am stumped.

Is it possible my memory controller / motherboard is bad? The RAM is brand new.

Hi,

I recently ran a scheduled diagnostic test of my PC with the manufacturer's diagnostic software. I received two error messages and the advice to promptly replace my hard drive. The first message was Failed (Error code: WHD20-1VR) and the second was Failed (Error code: WHD16-T57). The apply to Targeted Read test and Smart Short Self Test respectively.

So I ran Chkdsk for the C: drive and received no error messages.

Which is correct and what should I do about it? The error message won't go away on the software.

Thanks for helping.

A:Question: Failed Targeted Read Test and SMART Short Self Test

CHKDSK is a very basic check that mostly checks file system and can be set to scan for bad sectors. The manufacturer's diagnostics actually check the physical drive to make sure its operating within the designed parameters and is more thorough.

You should replace the drive.

Hi all.
So here is a interesting problem that gets my head spinning. Connection established trough Checkpoint VPN towards our domain.
IP address and DNS with Gateway provided. Through CMD you can ping with reply to your server using the common network name, (server1T). You can RTSC to your server using the common name. But once you open windows file explorer and go "\\common server
name"(\\server1T), you get your destination unreachable. Then you use the FQDN (\\server1T.domain.net), it works fine.
What has been done:
Checked All SLL, Radius, DNS config and replications, DHCP scopes, LDAP, WPAD, IPCONFIG, and Policy settings. No changes was made. The problem only started about 4 weeks ago, and its random.
Any one perhaps with an idea or who shares my problem.
Kind regards

I ran the hardware test this morning and everything passed but the SMART short self test. It failed and gave me this code. WHD01V00G-BK7W0J It says to send to Lenovo but I don't know where. I also can't add my laptop to my products on my account. I keep getting a message #WL Service Busy #   What do I do?

A:Hardware test shows SMART short self test failure.

hi Smurfette,

Welcome to the Forums.

The image below is the breakdown on how the LSC error codes mean.

The SMART short self-test that failed may have detected some certain sectors on the drive that are bad and predicted an imminent HDD failure so I would recommend you contact the lenovo helpdesk and report your findings as you likely need to send the unit for service.
