Preferred Solution: "Bios Back Flash" - Support required.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I ordered an Asus M2R32-MVP with an Athlon X2 5000+ Black Edition from Newegg.com, set-up the system and got no response even after building with the bare essentials and a variety of other configurations. I get no post and no beeps, but the CPU fan, the video card fan, and the Motherboard green light power indicator all function. I called Asus and they told me that I need to flash the BIOS because the 5000+ Black Edition is a newer processor. I've searched all over the web for this topic and haven't found a thing. In 13 years of building my own computers I've never encountered a dead motherboard does this sound like one or is Asus right and I do need to flash the BIOS?

I haven't tested all the different file systems, but it appears that it is possible to boot from only FAT(16) and FAT32 file systems in UEFI boot mode on USB flash drives on my new Dell Inspiron 7567. I spent about half an hour trying to figure out why Windows wasn't installing in UEFI mode, until I realised the laptop's BIOS was booting the drive in legacy boot mode.Could we please make it possible to boot from NTFS-formatted drives in future BIOS revisions, given that this has been the standard with most other manufacturers for a number of years?  And yes, this does matter to those of us wishing to put files >4GB on their USB boot drive. BIOS revision of the Dell is the latest at this time (v1.2.0). Thank you.

A:BIOS update required: USB bootable flash drive file system

FAT32 has been the UEFI standard.  Even the System partition on the install is FAT 32.  I don't know for sure but I believe it has to be able to run certain types of programs and cannot be NTFS..
Most places which explain how to set up a Boot USB drive for UEFI mentions it has to be FAT32.
FAT 32 formatting for USB drives is good up to 32 GB drive sizes.  Larger ones will just create a 32 GB partition.

Hi, sorry for my bad English, but I use the translator.I hope you can clear up some things for me, since this pc has been through a lot in the last 2 years, but it still works in part.During the summer of 2017 (or just before) I accidentally deleted the recovery partition from the hard disk, then downloaded with Microsoft Media creation Tool (Windows 10 Home). Once installed I also downloaded the drivers from the Lenovo site, everything worked except the Ethernet port (but it wasn't important). The fact is that the BIOS version is 9acn32ww, and it has always given me some problems. Now I reset the PC again via Media Creation Tool, but I see that the most updated version is the 9acn30ww (the one I had previously), what happened to the 32 on the site? Has it been removed because it also had problems for other users? Is it possible to bring the version back? Currently I tried to enable the flash back, but the operation is interrupted after the restart with an error.In addition to the Ethernet port, can't install Intel Management Engine Interface and other drivers, the error message refers to minimum unsupported requirements, and I frequently detect lag / freeze in the normal use of the PC, but specifically in games (fortnite), even if it often runs smoothly and without problems, and from the task manager the memories / cpu / gpu are not fully loaded . Another thing, not very important because I use the headphone jack, I noticed that the speakers only work if I unplug a pin from ... Read more

For example when i open a game first game crash and screen freeze than computer do not response. i sent my computer 3 times because of that problem but all the time technical service told me there is no problem at all.

i have two theory about what cause to problem. First there is a physical malfunction on the motherboard. Second one is that after i updated bios problems started so it is about bios.

What should i do? i believe that if i can backflash my bios version, problem will be gone

i live in Turkey and unfortunately Turkish technical support shelve about my problem. Worst thing is that i can not use my problem anymore. i am a student and i can not afford new machine

Hi friends,

I'm an engineering student at the University of Toronto. I need to get some technical assistance for the hardware implementation I'm going to do. It's really unchallenging to build an electronic circuit with breadboards. But, the method is less efficient since the circuit is prone to damage and the designing involves a very complicated procedure of placing the components.

I want to get support in designing PCB layout and packaging, so that the work would not get stuck in between. I had a small research to list out the PCB manufacturing companies in Toronto. Did anyone use such a service before? If you have some previous experience with such companies, please let me know!

Hello!

I have been given a flash project that I need to finish that was created by a collegue that has gone awol!
He took the source with him so I bought a decompiler that took the .swf back to .fla file but unfortuantly it has not done it correctly and I cannot get it to work. I have never worked with Flash before or know of anyone who can help!

This is what is meant to happen;
a parent .swf file loads a child .swf file that has been created on the fly.
This is then loaded into .aspx page that has buttons on it which are used to go up and down the frames of the child swf.

I have had to recreate the .fla file and I have got it as far as it loading the child .swf after showing a progress bar but I cannot get it to change frames.
I know the javascript and other code on the aspx page works and I have copied the actionscript that was decompiled into my new .fla file. (please see below)

function nextPage()
{
tellTarget(_root.controlme.contentHolder.nextFrame())
{
}
;
}

function previousPage()
{
tellTarget(_root.controlme.contentHolder.prevFrame())
{
}
;
}

var wasSuccessful = flash.external.ExternalInterface.addCallback("nextPage", null, nextPage);
var wasSuccessful = flash.external.ExternalInterface.addCallback("previousPage", null, previousPage);

Neither of these events are firing. controlme is a loader component, but I cannot find out what contentHolder is.

I am not sure if I have given enough information but can you help at all?

Hi all!

I'm working on my dad's computer and trying to resolve an issue where he is required to reinstall Adobe Flash player every time he starts internet explorer if he wants to view any flash content (youtube videos, etc.)

What I've found is that if I right click on the internet explorer shortcut and click 'run as administrator', the problem goes away. The flash content works perfectly right off the bat without the reinstallation of Flash. However, that's kind of a hassle, and I'm wondering if there's a way to just get flash player to work like it's supposed to without doing that. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling already, and that didn't work.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

Your workaround is the usual solution on XP. Also, in the Control Panel, delete all old versions of Flash.

I have just installed Windows XP Pro on my machine. I've been using 2000 for a few years now and it has proved enough for my requirements, but some software no longer supports Windows versions earlier than XP, and since my machine will not run vista installing XP was a reasonable choice.

I've got as far as Direct X installation. The only game I play is World of Warcraft and although my machine isn't a flashy spec it runs WoW at a respectable speed. I downloaded the Nov 2008 Direct X full distribution from microsoft but the installation fails. Running the web setup version yields more information and it halts with the following dialogue box:

If yes - where in same external hard drive?

Can i store both - system image and back up in one external hard drive??

If any other option of system image is good - kindly suggest.. for example partition of my C drive and use windows 7 software for back up etc

Best regards,

A:Both System image and back up are required?

Hello Ravi,

Creating a system image and/or a backup is not required, but it would be a good idea to keep anything that you do not want to lose backed up in case your Windows 7 installation suddenly goes belly up on you unexpectedly. The links will give you more detailed information about them if needed.

You will be able to save both to the same external HDD.

Hope this helps,

I ran the F12 diagnostics & it found a problem in Hard ware. I took it to a local service center (not authorised) in India & they formatted the hard drive. Post which, they installed a temporary windows 8 software & asked me NOT TO UPDATE. Now my laptop does not have the normal factory configuration & i have lost all dell diagnostics support & windows apps which were factory installed. I need to install a clean version of Windows 7 or 8. Can anyone guide me how to do this? I understand that the product key is encrypted by Dell in BIOS for all machines after 2012 or something.

oK, so this looks like a new one by reading the older threads. i have had a 256 MB Apacer flash drive for 2 years now. it worked beautifully "as is" out of the box with no drivers or special formatting required. i had never had a problem on any computer i used it with. then about 2 months ago i booted up my PC and it didn't recognize it was there. i farted around for awhile and i got it to find the drive but then it required formatting. i formatted it as FAT32 and it worked again, so i transferred all of my files to it and could access them just fine. i unplugged it and put it back in a week later and it said the drive wasn't formatted. pissed off as i was, it wasn't critical as i had all of the data on my computer and was just going to back things up. i tried to format as FAT32 and it looked 100% complete but said it couldn't format the drive when it was done. the same things happened when i tried again with regular FAT format. i read exhaustively about problems people were having and tried the advice of the HP utility for formatting flash drives. again, FAT and FAT32 reformatting failed, but NTFS took hold. again, i transferred files and all seemed well. but, alas, unplugging the drive or even upon a shutdown of my PC then unplugging always resulting in the drive being recognized as unformatted when i tried to access the data again. i gave it to a friend who tried it on his PC's and he, too, had to format it the first time ... The recovery media I made for the windows 7 machines are on DVD.  I need to make a copy of Windows 10 in the event I have a hard drive failure on new laptop.  I can find the procedure, it just does not state what size USB drive to use to make the backup.  Windows 10 home.  Whatever I make he has to be able to reload windows 10 in the event of a hard drive replacement.  Thanks

A:size required for flash drive windows 10 recovery media

oj1 I would certainly not trust the Microsoft recovery drive function -- as I have seen far too many posts on community Win10 forums where folks found those unreliable. I personally prefer to use third-party Recovery solutions as they tend to be both more flexible and more reliable than any built-in solutions.What I recommend is the following:1) Download and install Macrium Reflect (MR)2) Run MR and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition(s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive, USB stick, or DVDs3) Use the option to create a boot USB stick or CDMy experience is that MR, when using the High Compression option, typically can compress the saved image file to about 50% of the USED space in the OS partition. This means if you have an 80GB OS partition, and 40GB is used, MR only needs about 20GB to store the image file.I use this all the time and it typically takes less than 10 minutes to do the image backup and about the same time or less to do a restore. Plus, MR has the option to Add a Recovery Boot Menu entry. This allows you then to boot into WinPE, and you can then use that to do a restore -- when you can't boot into Windows!Good Luck

Hello, yesterday i purchased an ASUS X551MA laptop, which came with a preinstalled version of Windows 8

My problem is that i want to install Windows 7 on the laptop and get rid of Windows 8 but i am not able to make the computer boot from the DVD.

After searching in the web for a while i found out that i need to disable Fast Boot, and Secure Boot on my laptop BIOS and also enable launch CSM, yet the is no Launch CSM option anywhere on my laptop's BIOS. Is this some kind of a bug or simply my laptop doest not have this option?

Hello everyone! I ama new user and i am coming up with this post as I couldn`t find any kind of solution for my problem.Recently I decided to do a reinstallation of my operating system, which also previously was Windows 7 Ultimate (x64). The installation went as usual, and after finishing it I went on to install all the latest drivers from the Lenovo site, for my product. When getting close to installing almost all the drivers i`ve needed, i stumbled upon a new version of the BIOS amnd the drivers and sfotware recommended for my laptop, by the producer. So i proceeded to install the upgrade, restarted the computer when it prompted me to do so, but after the so-called restart the laptop did not boot up as usual. At first it was telling me to not do anything as the BIOS is being flashed and then it was telling me something about some sort of image processing, things that i did not understand at the time (i have never encountered anything like that). After that my screen turned black. I have not done anything for a few couple of minutes as i thought it was supposed to be like that, but then i just force shut it down and unplugged the AC adapter. When trying to boot it all up again, the only thing i got was a black screen and nothing else.After doing a little bit of research it appears that, somehowm i`ve managed to corrupt the bios on my laptop or something, and nothing else would work at this point. I tried to remove the BIOS battery and the ram and then put them all back, trye... Read more

A few days ago I had some problems with my HDD so I brought a new one.  To install Windows in the new drive I plugged in the DVD drive that Lenovo ships with the laptop and tried to boot from it. That failed and BIOS got like "programmed" or stuck with configurations that doesn't let it recognise any boot media no matter if it is a USB stick or HDD, no matter if I try to change the configuration of the BIOS it would always get back to the initial state of not being able to boot I even tried to reset it by unplugging its battery and the laptop battery but the only thing that happens is system time starting from 0 while any other configuration stays the same.  I thought this could be fixed using crisis recovery mode, but the laptop doesn't recognise the BIOS loaded on the USB and never make any sort of beep or alert noises, the screen doesn't show anything either and fans just get to 100% I really need help to solve this problem, it's like the BIOS got stuck in the last configurations before plugging the DVD drive in. (The Boot menu still showing that there's a USB booteable device even when it is not plugged in).

Im working on a Toshiba Laptop A105-4284, Model #: PSAA8U-0FH02K that froze while trying to flash the BIOS, so I didnt know what else to do but shut it off. Now, when I try to boot it up, it gets stuck in the same place it did during the flashing; on the Toshiba splash screen with the status bar at the bottom showing about 20% complete. I cant get into the BIOS and cant boot into Windows. Other options available on this screen are Press F2 for System Settings and F12 for Boot Menu. Pressing F2 results in a beep and the status bar changing to "Please Wait..." but nothing else happens no matter how long I wait. Pressing F12 doesnt do anything. Pressing ESC takes me to a screen that shows the typical system info -- Phoenix Technologies Version 6.00; Intel Calistoga CRB.T3A Reference BIOS; VERSION.MAK 1.53; (looks like its running POST and recognizes CPU, Cores, No TPM or TPM has a problem, and system RAM and stops there. What is my best course of action?:

- shorting out the CMOS battery (I've tried this on the solder pads marked C88, with no laptop battery, with and without the wi-fi, ram and hdd installed; Im either doing it wrong or its just not working )
- trying to reflash BIOS chip (I tried this; turned the laptop on and held down the 'c' key to boot from cd, but still got stuck at the same place)
- replacing the BIOS chip
- something else?

Any guidance or information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

A:Toshiba A105: Failed BIOS flash; now no BIOS access & won't boot

Im trying to figure out why I've had no replies yet.

Have I asked a stupidly easy question that everyone is rolling their eyes to and cant bear to tell me the answer? Or have I stumped everyone?

I have a hard time believing this is a stumper. I've found the same question posted elsewhere on the net and shorting the CMOS seemed to help. That or removing the battery altogether (its soldered to the board), but I dont think Im doing it right. Can someone give me directions on that?

or is this just a lost cause? :-/

Thanks in advance

I open my own thread since I don't sure if this guy here: IE 11 No Longer Will Play Some Videos

have the same issue that I do

Here the story:

I never use one browser and always mixed IE with FF and a thiny bit of Chrome, since each browser work better for me on different fields browser X and Y aren't

I been using IE10 for years and didn't update since I didn't trust MS updates anymore after win 8 and 10 (IE11 come with few pre-requested updates that some said they don't get along with your anti virus)

But since It support sort of going to run out (and since MS browsers tend to become slower/crashing and freezing on higher frequently over the years of uses (no matter what you try unless if full delete and reinstall of the browser as simple rest won't do) I decided to take the risk and finally update to IE11, after the first day it seem like it worked fine (aside the few issue IE10 already had which were freezes and crashes in random places even without addons or change of setting) on the second or third day I decided to install Adblocker for IE and noticed that videos on youtube and Dailymotion won't play at all, Youtube gave me random error code each time and DM told me I can't play the video on this browser...

I tried to delete the cookies, rest IE11 completely, disable/delete Adblocker (just to be sure), disable different add-ons like activeX or tried to filter AX and nothing

Then I suddenly noticed that when I able ActiveX filtering and then disable it, ... Read more

A:IE11 randomally stop play videos that required flash, ActiveX, and HTM

It seem that changing the Document mode and User agent string to 10 (in both) fix the issue in most sites for me (include youtube), it not surprising considering IE11 was build for WIN8 (though MS really mess this up this time)

The issue is that by closing the Emulation window the settings will move back to default (Edge.....),

I found we may can force the default to 10 by using this reg

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (or HKEY_CURRENT_USER)
SOFTWARE
Wow6432Node (for IE 32-bit on a 64-bit OS)
Microsoft
Internet Explorer
Main
FeatureControl
FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION
iexplore.exe = (DWORD) 00001000

But it only for Document mode and I have no clue if it safe or if we can cancel it, MS said we can disable it when we change the 00001000 to 00000000 (in other words as long as there's no number)

You can find it here
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...wser_emulation

However I still don't sure if it safe and how to change the User agent string default via reg

Anyone can help me out?

I made a clean installation and downloaded necessary drivers from Lenovo's support site.
It has been a long time since I have had this laptop, so I decided to update the BIOS as well.

The updated BIOS version is B0CNA0WW. I'm uncertain of my previous version, most likely the version that the laptop was shipped with, as this is the first time I updated my BIOS.

Is it possible to revert to previous BIOS version without any further problems?
And if not, how can I get rid of the utterly displeasing BIOS splash in the boot? Or maybe change the splash image?

I would leave your current BIOS alone.
Maybe another user can help in the BIOS screen change.

Note: Bios is unsigned, you may get a warning message during download.

When I turn on my computer yestereday it loaded the post screen briefly than went directly into BIOS setup. When I exit the bios setup the screen goes black flickers than goes back into BIOS setup. BIOS recognized hard drives and cd roms, and boot sequence was correct. I decided to deal with it tomorrow or today.. When i turned it on today it booted to my 2nd harddrive (which also has an OS installed) went into bios booted from my main harddrive and the computer worked fine for about 20 min. I was browsing the web and microsoft outlook kept trying to open eventually everytime i closed it pop right back up couldnt access taskmanager keyboard couldnt type however i could manuever with the arrow keys. Powered down and when i rebooted had the same problem as before.. wont get past bios setup. I have tried reseting the CMOS jumpers but that didnt have any affect. tried booting with soley; each hard drive (separately), cd rom, and with each stick of memory. All running into the same issue. Any ideas?

Windows 8 does not recognise my AGP slot and therefore not my NVIDIA graphics card, and consequently my screen resolution is too low for Skype. NVIDIA suggests a BIOS update would solve my problem - but it seems impossible to find the correct file to download from either my motherboard manufacturer's site nor even the AMI site. My current BIOS is AMI P1.00 dated 11/15/2007, so an update would not go amiss. Better that than a new motherboard, memory, processor etc. !

All suggestions much appreciated !
