can Flex 2 14 wifi card be upgraded to AC compatible card?

Q: can Flex 2 14 wifi card be upgraded to AC compatible card?

can the flex 2 14 inch wifi card be user upgraded to 802.11AC compatible wifi card, and if so could you tell me the compatible part? is it dual band? Thanks in advance, that is the thing holding me from making a purchase before the April 1st deadline of current sale.

Preferred Solution: can Flex 2 14 wifi card be upgraded to AC compatible card?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: can Flex 2 14 wifi card be upgraded to AC compatible card?

Three years late. The answer is "Yes!" The Lenovo Flex 2 14/15 can be upgraded with a compatible wireless-AC card. The card detailed below can be installed successfully in the Flex 2-14 and it's pretty much a plug-n-play device under Windows 10. Drivers are installed automagically so that the 2GHz and 5GHz wireless and Bluetooth can be accessed. I have two Lenovo Flex 2 laptops each running this exact wireless card. Make sure the wireless card you install matches the details listed below. Or else you'll get an "incompatible wireless module detected" error message when you try to boot the laptop. Name: Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 3160Model: 3160NGWFCC ID: PD93160NGUTA: H45043-003FRU: 04X6076EC: 770009 A genuine "Lenovo branded" Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 3160 wireless card can be purchased from: http://us.eetgroup.com/i/04X6076-Lenovo-Wireless-Module I've attached a picture of the correct wireless card.

'Lo Again,

Was wondering if anyone knows offhand if my 13-year-old Toshiba laptop can "take" a wireless card. If it matters, it's an original Pentium 90 running Win'95. The problem is, I don't even know where to begin to look for an upgrade slot/compartment on a laptop (this is my first one, fresh off Ebay).

Also, can Win95 itself even handle wireless networking? If necessary, I have my own copy of Win98 that I can install; will that work? (Unfortunately, I can't put any form/shape of Linux on this thing, as the particular piece of software I require--ExamSoft--only runs on Windows).

A:Can a Toshiba Satellite 205CDS be upgraded to accept a WiFI card?

Do you have any PCMCIA slots in that machine? If yes then what type?

Do you have an ethernet adapter there? If yes then you could get yourself a small access point.

So I bought my laptop, a Pavilion 17-f113dx a little over 3 years ago.  I am swapping the drive for an ssd drive and I thought while I go to all the trouble of disassembling the laptop that I would change out the wifi card with a dual wifi/bluetooth card to improve wireless performance. I understand that there may be a whitelist in the bios of compatabile cards for a laptop this old.  Where would I be able to find that list?  Or is there a solution short of installing a hacked bios?

A:Compatible wifi dual card for 17-f113dx

Hi: There is no whitelist, but there is almost a bigger problem... 1. The notebook requires extensive disassembly to get to the wireless card.  If you can overcome that, then #2 is the killer. 2.  On most of these newer HP notebooks with single band wlan cards, there is only one antenna connected to the card, and there isn't a second one present. A dual band card such as the Intel 7260 N or AC requires 2 antennas to work. It will take even more disassembly including the display panel area to run the 2nd antenna. Do not rely on the picture in the service manual which normally shows two antennas. You will need to physically inspect your notebook's situation before buying a replacement card. If it has two antennas, then you are good to go. I would recommend the Intel 7260 dual band N or AC card for your 3 year old notebook.

My fiancee and I currently have the Dell Inspiron 17R SE laptop with the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230, and it has worked for a few months now up until the Monday of last week. While on the internet, my fiancee was noticing her wifi speed slowed down to a crawl. She performed speed tests to find out that the speed was not as high as it used to be. She updated drivers for the computer, as well as removed any clutter that would cause the wifi slowdown.
When we tried many options, they did not give us the results that we were looking for. Finally, after some process of elimination, we concluded that our wifi card needed a replacement. I don't want to get any old card to use and then find out that it doesn't fit or is not compatible with Windows 10. I have been taking my time to research what could be compatible to improve my laptop computer, but I have been coming up short.

What I would like to know is what wifi cards are compatible with our Dell computer so that we can get this replaced as soon as possible without having to pay out the nose for unneeded computer repair?

Hello everyone,

I just bought the Wireless N PCI Adapter (TL-WN851ND) from TP-LINK for my Windows 10 PC. It says that it's compatible for Windows 7/Vista/XP but it doesn't say Windows 10 on there. I thought that since it works on Windows 7, it will probably work on Windows 10 aswell, but since I inserted the card and have it running my computer freezes randomly and gives me a blue screen sometime later. The blue screen also says MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION. Sometimes when I turn the PC on it will freeze and go to the blue screen while loading Windows 10.

Is there any possible way to make this adapter compatible for Windows 10 without it freezing all the time which leads to me having to reboot the computer over and over again?

A:Making a hardware for Windows7 compatible with Windows10 (Wifi card)

When I tried to install the driver that came with the hardware it said that it doesn't work on this operating system (Windows 10).
I installed a different random driver that I found in the internet, but it still freezes every now and then.

Hi Guys,

I'm currently trying to work out a problem regarding my WiFi card on my L670-14M.

The old Wifi card died on us, so I decided to buy a Intel 7620 card to replace it. This installed fine, and is recognized by the device manager, and I can now find the wifi card in the adapter settings menu.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to go any further. The wireless logo in the corner appears, but with a red "X" through it.

I've tried:
Disabling and enabling the cardUsing the FN+F8 key combinationUpdating the BIOSRunning the troubleshooter (It tells me to switch on the WiFi capabilities via a switch on the computer or the FN keys. I have no switch and the FN key combination doesn't work.I've also attempted to clear the TCP/IP stack to no avail.

All I can guess now is that the card is either incompatible with this laptop, or maybe there's something in the registry that could be changed/removed to help? I've tried several different cards too (as this is a work laptop and we've bought the cards in bulk) and it's not due to a faulty card.

hello there, i have recently upgraded my service to 200mbs with a dual band smart router, modem and router capable of 1000mbs, after upgrade i come to find my wifi card only recieves 2.4ghz channel, its pitiful that my cell phone can get 140mbs on 5ghz and my new laptop can only get 100mbs via ethernet and less than 20mbs wireless, i took it to the local computer store and he did not want to touch the machine because this model is extremely hard to get into and i have read that if it only has One antenna i would have to disassemble the display aswell , so i am basically asking several questions, (1) can i upgrade to a card that is 2 x 2 A/b/g/n/AC 867mbs  like the intel 7260 or 8260 (2) does this machine have the required 2 antennas so i do not have to take apart the display?. i find it ludacris that this machine came out in 2016 and is not capable of reaching passed 100mbs, i would have never purchsed it, i intend to keep upgrading speed as long as my ISP keeps giving me good deals on service, i pay $60 for 200mbs.....card is realtek RTL8723benf Single band 2.4ghz 100mbs......thank you in advance

Hi all,

Thank you in advance.

A:dual band wifi card vs single band wifi card

I should get dual or single band wifi for a laptop that I would like to purchaseClick to expand...

do you mean a router
or as part of the laptop spec ?

what router do you have and does it work in dual band simultaneously

the advantage of the 5ghz signal is if you are in a crowded 2.4ghz environment then 5ghz helps avoid interference - also the coverage is wider - although the 5ghz router i have linksys - does not seem to be

if your current router only works in 2.4ghz , then no advantage in the short term

some routers are advertised as dual band - but you have to choose between 2.4 or 5 ghz and so ALL devices will need to support 5ghz

Hello all! I recently purchased a 8600 GT OC with 512 ram (pny card) to replace my older 6600 card. I am able to replace the cards physically with no problems, and fire it up and get display! Unfortunately it's extremely fuzzy (think old tvs with no cable). The graphics card however does let me into games, with a seemingly nice performance boost..well speed wise anyway.

It is fuzzy even in BIOs or POST, so I believe this has to be something a bit stupid Iím missing. I was told itís most likely a DoA card, but it does work except the fuzz. PNYs automated tech support seems to want to blame my power supply (600w). But if this is true why does it actually work?

As of now I switched back to my 6600 with no trouble, and I am about to RMA it to newegg, but does anyone have any suggestions?

My motherboard is an ECS 945p-a, 2 gigs of ram, with a pentium D at 3.0 ghz. Only have 1 hard drive, onboard audio, and only a USB mouse and keyboard.

I should also mention the card does NOT have an external power plugin, even though my power supply does have cables for such. Which I found a little weird since it seems every other 8600 card does have such.

Well I got ancy and went to Wal-Mart and got an Asylum GeforceFX 5200 128MB (recommended by eMachines) $100 (ouch)

I knew I could find one cheaper, but I kept hearing how the Ti4200 is a better card, even though it doesn't have DX9.

So today I won a auction for a XFX Ti4200 128MB 8x (I have 4x AGP)
for...$68 (w/ship)!
Hopefully my picky system (the one that won't accept an ATI Anything) will accept the Ti series card. Good move...right?

Anyway, will I have any conflicts installing a card that supprts DX8 when I have DX9 currently installed?

A:Just upgraded RAM/Graphics Card

For the video card did you remember to connect it to the power supply with the 6 pin PCI-E power connector (or using an adapter that should have come with the card if the power supply doesn't have one)?

Also you listed power supply of 400W "I think", doesn't help much. Really need to know what that is and if it is even capable of running that card and everything else attached to the motherboard. If it is a good quality power supply with a decent 12 V rail(s) with sufficient amps it should be OK. If it is a no name 400W power supply with a poor 12V rail I wouldn't trust it to power a light bulb, never mind a computer.

I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. My sound card is a Creative X-Fi Audio Processor (WMD). I am not sure if that is the actual model name. That is the name that the device manager gives me. RE-installing drivers from Creative doesn't help. Tried the Daniel_K drivers and nothing seems to help. It just seems that Windows 7 is not even recognizing that there is a card installed at all! I have a Dell XPS 600 Pentium D 3.20 ghz 2 gig ram. I have spent several hours trying to figure this out. Please help!

A:Upgraded to W7. No sound. Creative Xfi card. Help!

In device manager, right click on the card. Properties. Details tab. Change dropdown to hardware ids. Copy and paste the results here and I'll see what I can do.

Please no screenshot as alternative. That only makes it more difficult for me. Thanks.

I would like to upgrade my graphics card so at least I have DVI output (it only has VGA now).

This machine is a slimline so there is a room issue and more importantly it only has a 220 watt power supply. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks and here is my machine:

A:I need an upgraded card for my HP Slimline s5200.

The power supply is a concern, but pretty sure I have seen other models of HP computers with a similar power supply and they come with something like this,

Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, Video Cards & Video Devices, Desktop Graphics / Video Cards, Radeon HD 6000 series, Radeon HD 6450

Very low power requirements (about 18W for the card at load, and even less for general use), comes with both the DVI port you want and a HDMI port. Not a world better performance wise by any stretch of the imagination, but still better that the onboard Intel you have now.

I installed a GeForce2 Ti on my son?s computer (details below) this morning, after previously researching on this and other fora. Unfortunately, he cannot play the likes of Driver, Tony Hawk 2, Phantom Menace or Alien vs Predator, which was the whole idea of the budget graphics card upgrade. (Commandos 2 and Deus Ex both work fine, however). The Driver configuration cannot find a 3D device. DirectX says there?s no Direct3D enabled. I?ve removed the graphic card and re-installed it. Should I look for another driver for it ? or any other potential software upgrade? Help!

A:Graphic card upgraded, but help sought

Well the problem is your computer cannot reconize the card. Have you ever used the AGP port before? It could be shot. and/or check that any old video card drives are uninstalled. One thing that may help, is check what port your video card is using, and check that D3D is also enabled to read it. Hope this helps...=/

I just recently (today) upgraded to 7 from Vista. I did a clean install because I was running 32 bit and wanted 64 bit. Everything installed fine except the computer is no longer showing that I have a graphics card. It is a Dell laptop. When I upgraded a different computer 7 automatically detected and installed the drivers for that graphics card.

In this computer, however, the graphics card does not even appear. It is not in Device Manager or System Information. Both programs just say all that is installed is a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem and make the computer detect the graphics card?

A:Just upgraded to 7, no Graphics Card appearing

can you tell us what model is it?

So i took out my old gtx 260 as i fear it is dying and replaced it with a radeon HD 6770 , i also installed a new HDD which is working fine.

i have run into 2 seperate issues #1 being the motherboard seems to click 3 times with a gap continuously about 5-6 times before the beep and the continues booting , #2 it will then get into windows and freeze on the windows loading screen . I can get into safe mode and it works fine however it wont allow me to install gfx drivers from the cd .

The clicks happen with the old gfx card aswell as the new 1 so... i would assume they are separate issues My specs are;

AMD Phenom II x4 965
Gigabyte m720-us3 motherboard f4 bios
8gb ddr2 memory corsair
650w TX Corsair PSU
3 WD 500gb HDD's
old gfx card is a nvidia gtx260 1.8gb which im using at the moment and the new 1 is the radeon 6770 1gb
Win 7 64bit

A:Upgraded GFX Card Win 7 Crashing at startup

Hi invert,

Perform a check disk repair on your computer: Check your hard disk for errors

Then un-install the current GFX drivers on your computer before you install the ATI Radeon drivers.

Hope everything works out well for you.

When I built my system a few months ago I had a Celeron G540 and I thought the Intel HD Graphics 1000 was pretty decent. When the i3-2105 was $25 off at Newegg I bought it because it has Intel HD Graphics 3000 and I thought it'd be better. The CPU is much better but the graphics seems to be the same.

My sis saw me leaning forward to read the text and mentioned it. I didn't realize I was doing that but I thought my 17" monitor was too small. It turned out that the text is somewhat blurry so I ordered a Sapphire HD 6670 video card and a Seasonic 550w Bronze because I wasn't sure if my Corsair CX430 will handle more wattage. I'm playing it safe.

Got the stuff today and installed them. Blew me away, good lord! The text is lot easier to see and the video's much better as I can see more detail.

So the Intel HD Graphics is that bad? Jeez.

EDIT: by the way, the resolution is 1280 x 1024.

A:Bought a video card (and upgraded the PSU)

For 2D stuff like what you're talking about, onboard video like that should be more than good enough and clear enough. Blurry text is usually a sign that the monitor is not in its Native Resolution.

Also, the CX430 would have been major overkill for this video card.
