I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello All,
I need some help on troubleshooting this issue as i already spent too many hours and now I'm out of ideas.
I'm rolling out convenience rollup(KB3125574) for windows 7 to all workstations but some of them are failing with the below errors in cbs logs. I tried all basic stuff like sfc /scannow, reset windows update components, update win update agent,
system readiness tool, manual installation, update using dism tool, but nothing is fixed this issue. it is working in 70% of workstations and failing in 30%. i cannot see any pattern here as it is failing in all kind of models and both x32 and x64bit.

I ran this command as well but no errors were found.
dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

Note:
Of course i have installed pre-requiste of servicing stack and also updated windows update agent as well.

Please help me to fix this issue.

Hi, I just got an pop-up from windows updater saying that I should download this roll-up for service pack 4. I have been running win2k for a long time now and have had very few problems....until downloading this rollup. After installing it, it stated that I needed to reboot... this is where the problem started. my comp will get past the bio stage and then the windows 2000 screen comes up and loads. Then it goes to (what looks like ) the begining of the login screen and boot up and be fine but then my HD just seems to shut Down and start all over again. I Have tried to start it in safe mode with no luck and i have also tried it from the last safe boot and still with no luck. I still have my win2k cd and i am able to get into c:\winnt but i dont know where to go from there. Is there anyway that i can just delete what this rollup package just installed on my comp? Or do i need to just re-install the OS and lose everything that is on my HD?

I am on my friends wireless labtop and i am able to have internet access right next to my comp..
I have 3 Hds on this machine
1.5 gig ram
No A-Drive
Running Win2k SP4
any Help Would be much appreciated

Recently, I got the Sims 2 Pets.
Before I got this game, the only Sims 2 games I had were the Sims 2 base game, University, Nightlife and Open For Business.
I managed to install them all in order and played off the last disk I installed and I had no problems whatsoever.
However, when I installed the Sims 2 Pets, I started having problems. The first time I played, the game crashed when I tried to create a family with pets. I uninstalled and reinstalled and then it was fine until I actually started playing and for some reason, my pets were white and covered in little numbers, like codes. I reinstalled and uninstalled and had both problems this time.
I thought that maybe I had too many EPs so I've uninstalled University, but I didn't really want to do this.
I checked to see if the game was compatible and it was, despite the fact that my video card driver.
I really want to fix this problem, because I didn't have any issues with the games before Pets and now I don't know what to do? I know this seems complicated, but please help because I've looked all over the internet and I can't find anything to help

Hi folks,
When windows 10 was first released I downloaded it and burned to DVD using the media creation tool from Microsoft.
As windows 10 has now had a major update, and I want to create a DVD with that update on it, without having to reinstall it later, as I have other partitions on my computer to update to 10 as well.
So my query is, does anyone know if I was to download windows 10 32 bit from Microsoft again (using the media creation tool from Microsoft) will it include the latest major update to 10?
Thanks for any help

Hi all together,

last week microsoft announced their new Convenience Rollup for Windows 7 SP1.
I installed different different virtual machines and bare metal devices with en_windows_7_enterprise_with_sp1_x64_dvd_u_677651.iso and applied only really necessary updates for KB3125574.
But even after installing the Convenience Rollup more than 200 Updates are available.
So cannot see the advantage.?!?
Am I doing something wrong??

Known issue in this convenience rollup
Symptoms

After you install the rollup, virtualized applications in Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) versions 4.5, 4.6, and 5.0 may have problems loading. When these problems occur, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:

Note In this error message, MyApp represents the name of the App-V application.

Depending on the scenario, the virtualized app may freeze after it starts, or the app may not start at all.

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Hi all:

Two weeks ago, I updated 6 workstations with W2K Rollup. The problems started yesterday.

One pc was exhibiting problems saving to floppy disks in MS Excel and Word. (Office XP). An attempt to save would freeze the system. I originally thought it may be an Office problem, did a repair and no luck. I also ran a defrag.

This morning, a second pc did the same thing.

The two pc's in question have custom software and some additonal programs (banking, Quick Books) that the other stations do not have.

I found an article online about some other problems Windows 2000 Rollup Makes PC's Suffer
but the problem I am experiencing was not mentioned.

Has anyone else had any problems? I am considering uninstalling the update, but wanted to run it by some experts first.

Here's the basic stats on our workstations:

Dell Optiplex GX50
Windows 2000 SP4
20G hard drives
128MB installed memory

The systems are virus free as I am obsessive when it comes to that.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Should I just dump the update? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Max

adding comment: It was just reported to me that we have a third machine lagging at print request. This was one problem with the update that I DID read about. I am asking everyone to make notations of anything out of the norm they are experiencing.

I removed the update from the system with the printing problems, and one of the systems with the 'save to floppy' problem.

The problems are gone!

We can mark this thread solved.

A:update rollup 2 for windows mce 2005 problem

discrepancy: what OS are you using and what version of WMP11 are you trying to install?

WMP11MCE will not install on a windows xp pro system - which is whats listed in your profile. likewise wmp11 vanilla will not install on xpMCE.

in either case, youll need IE7 to use WMP11.

Trouble is, the update will not install. It will attempt to do so several times, before I get the message that there is a "reverting" to the computer's previous status. I haven't the option of not letting this happen repeatedly, since every time I turn off the computer the same nightmare begins. Then, it's very difficult to get things going again the next time I turn on the computer. The update is said to be "critical" to security, so I'd like to have it on the machine, but....

November 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2

November 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2:

https://support2.microsoft.com/kb/3000850?wa=wsignin1.0

This update rollup includes the following new features and improvements:

* Refreshed language packs

* Defence-in-depth security and Schannel hardening

* Support for newer hardware (boot order allowance, SD card

improvements, USB debugging)

* Improved Web Services for Devices (WSD) printer support during

network switches

* Performance and reliability improvements in clustered virtual

machine mission-critical environments

* Improved manageability

* Additional hardware support (devices that have third-party disk

encryption software enabled can now be upgraded to Windows 8.1 more

easily)

This November update rollup also includes all previous updates since our last image update in April 2014. This is a convenient single step to bring Windows clients and servers up to date. Unlike our April update, the November update rollup is not required to be able to continue to receive security or other updates. However, we strongly recommend that you deploy it to Windows clients and servers to benefit from these new features and improvements as well as to prevent many known issues that have been resolved since April. This update is thoroughly tested to the same quality level as our previous service packs. However, unlike ... Read more

On one of the Windows 7 PC's that I'm administering, an error occurs since the monthly rollup update of March.

To be more specific: I have 2 problems:
1. (general) formerly, when an update didn't fit a machine, you could hide this one and go further with your update-life; now, because of the cumulative character, the problem is repeated in the monthly rollup since then, so I can't solve it with this strategy
(and I can't think of anything else to get around it, except disabling updates at all)
2. (specific) then rests the conflict itself and I searched the internet for somebody who had the same problem, no luck; it seems that my Intel RAID1 (recent driver) crashes just before the logonscreen, the PC reboots, undoing the update(s) and the (hardware)
RAID1 is recovering itself, taking 2-3 hours.
Standard procedures like clean boot, reset WU etc. didn't work out; and yes, I followed the Windows update troubleshooter, it concludes after all steps I need to go to Windows 10 - but Windows 7 is supported until 2020 and do I know the problem will stay
away, even when migrating? (rhetorical question)

If an enterprise has only been deploying Windows 7 updates classified as Security and Critical (through WSUS) since Win 7 SP1, would it be possible to install the October monthly rollup (KB3185330) right away?
Is there a need to circle back and install all other updates missing from after SP1 before doing the monthly rollup update?  Going back and doing a mass deployment of all previous updates seems to be a lot of work just to be able to install the rollup
update.
Any deployment suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Hello,
I applied all three available KBs today (KB4480063, KB4480970, KB4480055) and ever since then I'm unable to RDP onto that machine. It worked fine for ages, never had issues with it. The issue originates from one of these updates.
The errors I'm getting are authentication based,
- from Windows client I get "The Local Security Authority cannot be contacted."
- from macOS client I get "We couldn't connect to the remote PC. This might be due to an expired password. If this keeps happening, contact your network administrator for assistance.

Error code: 0x207"
I tried EVERYTHING, different user accounts, different names domain\user or just user etc. It looks like one of these updates broke something, especially since I'm able to log on when I enable connections without Network Level Authentication (I always had
this enabled).

Hey guys,
I've been wondering about one thing...
According to Microsoft Update Catalog, quite a few .NET updates for Windows 7 SP1 have been superseeded by the October's 2016 Security and Quality Rollup for the .NET Framework 3.0 SP 2, 4.5.2, and 4.6 (KB3188744). For example: KB3163251 (MS16-091)
or KB3142033 (MS16-065)
OK, fine. Everything would be OK, except one thing. The KB3188744 is only for Windows Vista SP2 and Windows Server 2008 SP2 according to the KB article description and the name itself:

October, 2016 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.0, 4.5.2, 4.6 on Windows Vista SP2 and Windows Server 2008 SP2 (KB3188744)
So what about Windows 7 SP1? We are deploying patches via SCCM in our organization, and the KB3163251 or KB3142033 for Windows 7 are no longer available (expired), but the new KB3188744 cannot be deployed because obviously it shows up as not required
on Windows 7 machines.
So is manually installing the previous patches like KB3163251 and KB3142033 the only way to patch older vulnerabilities now? Or is it simply a bug that .NET Framework security and quality rollup was not released for Windows 7 this month?
Thanks in advance for answers.
Thanks in advance for answers.

Most should be aware that Microsoft starting from October 2016, is forcing windows 7 users to install updates all rolled up into one, just like they do on windows 10.

Many of us don?t want this or do we want the freedom taken away to chose what updates we install. When people bought windows 7, this is not what we signed up to and not part of the licensing agreement.

Microsoft have no right to do this and should honour the way windows 7 has always issued updates, until end of support in 2020.

Microsoft really annoyed many people with the push for windows 10 spyware, crap ware, spying on peoples windows 7 computers and the relentless push to force, windows 10 on people who didn?t want it.

As if Microsoft hasn?t alienate it?s customers enough.

So I thinks many windows 7 users should get together and sue Microsoft for forcing these windows 10 style updates, on to windows 7 users, if they don?t revoke the stupid policy.

Microsoft needs to be taught a lesson and sued for breach of contract on windows 7.

So what do you say?

A:Microsoft should be sued, forcing rollup updates on windows 7 users

I'm sure that a company the size of MS and the myriad of lawyers employed have taken all the necessary steps to protect themselves from being sued as you describe.

Having said that it is your choice to install the updates or not. For what it's worth I stopped updating Windows 7 long before the Windows 10 thing and my system is running just fine.
