Issue in IE11:

when parent window had a alert triggered, that makes the child window lose focus and go behind

There is a button in parent page (domain A) and on click of the button Popup window (Domain B) will open and child window will communicate back to parent window. when parent window had a alert triggered, that makes the child window lose focus and go behind
only in IE11 browser.

IE edge and other browsers we can see the popup window on top of the parent window.

is there any fix to retain popup window on top of parent window until user closes the popup(child) window.

Popup is going behind  the parent window in IE11 when focus is on parent window

When you move a pop up window too high the title/tool bar of the child window is hidden by the main window's tool bar/title bar. As a result the child window is stuck and can not be resized or moved back to the original position or any where you can see
the whole window. Though you can scroll the contents and all the window itself is stuck. The child window never gets the focus back. Unless you close the main window you can not get the child window back to its normal position.
Is there any way that you can move the whole window (not just the contents) back to its original location or maximize that inner window only. Any short cut to move the window only results in moving the main window not the child window.

Hi Champs....

Just want a liitle suggestion and a feedback on my current query, which is as follows: -

A softwatre developed from our vendors on VB, & Access platform, has different Modules.
In each modules, there are some categories, and clicking on them opens a child window.

The size of the child window created in the software is not very comfortable in viewing the details, as the size of the window is prety small, say 2/5 of the parent window.

And, considering the Parent Window size as equivalent to that of the Excel file (maximized view), the view area for the child windows created is very small.

I am not pretty familiar with VB, and hence require a technical help on the same.
I think that the increase in size is possible, through reworking on the Forms.

Please revert with the possible solutions on the same.

For the last 4 days I think, I've been getting this very annoying refreshing of my window. I can't really think of a better word to use than that, even though is is probably not correct. Basically, what I am getting is that every now and then, whichever window I have selected will disappear for a split second, showing whatever would be behind it, then appear again, and move the window in the task bar to the end(right). I first started to notice it when playing World of Warcraft, because it would keep whatever button I had pressed down, even if I released it during the split second when it refreshed eg. I would keep running when pressing nothing. However I then noticed it even more when it began to do it when I was playing with photoshop, and even now it is doing it with Firefox open.

When I first thought that it was only related to WoW I repaired it, and removed any addons, however that did nothing. Then when I found out that it was to do with other applications too I did a defrag of my drives, and an anti-virus and spyware scan using ESET Smart Security. However I am still having the same problem, and it is getting rather irritating. I'm running on Windows 7 Pro 64bit if that is on any help.

Has anybody heard of this problem, or know how to fix it? I don't recall changing anything before it started happening, so I am really at a loss as to what to do.

I'm running Windows 7 Professional x64 on a custom desktop I built recently. The system specifications are in my profile.

Narrow windows are hard to click and drag. For example, take Windows Calculator.

If I click anywhere within "ator" in "Calculator" in the top window border (Window title) the window does not drag. The same thing happens if I open a Notepad window and make it narrow like the calculator. The window will not drag! It appears to have been like this ever since I assembled my desktop PC and installed Windows 7 on it.

This is a rough estimation of the strange "no drag zone" I am experiencing:

In practice, I think the box is a bit taller than what I have drawn, but basically, if I click anywhere inside that box, the window will NOT drag. I actually thought my mouse was defective, but the problem could not be reproduced on my laptop, which has Windows 7 Home Premium.

This may seem like a minor problem, but it's maddening to me.

The only way I can "fix" the problem at the moment is to use the "Windows Classic" theme. Windows 7 Aero and Basic themes both have the problem.

I've been trying search queries in Google for days, but it seems nobody else has seen this problem... ever.

This one's beating me up. When I boot into XP in normal mode, as soon as I go to scroll a window, either with the wheel mouse or the window's scroll thumb, the system immediately reboots, no warning or preliminaries. Likewise, if I try to drag a window, same thing. I thought it might be a hardware issue, so I've swapped out RAM, to no effect. Also, this does not happen in 98SE (I still have 98 set up on a RAID array I can switch to in CMOS and boot into). I can drag, scroll, hell, drag and wave a window around the screen, no problem. Also, if I F8 into the XP boot menu and select "VGA Mode," no sweat, other than not being able to see two-thirds of my screen; again, I can scroll, drag, etc.

I've downloaded and installed the latest drivers for my video board (ATi Radeon 7200), turned off hardware acceleration, tried different resolutions, all the usual suspects (I think??). I decided to try to repair or reinstall over my current setup, but my original CD setup tells me, "Nope, later version, no can do," because of SP2 being installed. When I tried using the SP2 CD, it did what seemed to me to be an abbreviated installation which did nothing to address the problem.

I'm still not positive this isn't a hardware issue (video board, maybe??) to which XP is sensitive in normal mode and 98 is not. I would go back to square one and reformat/reinstall XP, but the setup program on my CD says it won't run in DOS mode, so I'm faced with reformatting, installing 9... Read more

hey all... i have a Toshiba Tecra laptop with Windows XP. I

I have about 12,000 or so mp3s stored in a series of folders within My Shared Folder. I like to right-click My Shared Folder and do a search on .mp3 so that all the songs appear in the one Search window - regular search, with the dog in the bottom left, not the more advanced Windows Search. From there, my usual order of business is to drag and drop mp3s from that Search window into my Traktor mp3 player - I'm a DJ. 90% of the time this is no problem; I can drag and drop in real time. But ever since about 5pm yesterday afternoon, when I click on an mp3 and try to drag and drop the mp3 into the player, Search freezes and it takes about 20 seconds for the mp3 to show up in the player, which is way too long when you're onstage and you need your song to load instantaneously, as usual.

Note: when I drag and drop mp3s from their actual folder locations, they load instantly. And when I do a search on a small number of mp3s, they also load fine. There's something about all 12,000 mp3s being in one Search window that is overwhelming the system. The thing is, it never overwhelmed the system until now.

I tried System Restore: no change. I tried restarting, letting it sit a while: no change.

Any ideas? I have a gig tonight, and this problem will cripple me.

Thanks in advance.

This is a pretty weird problem, and it's more of a frustration than anything, i'm just trying to figure out what is causing it. I don't think it's a virus because it's happened for a long time now, through many formats, re-installs, etc.

Anyway, my issue is this..

Let's say I have 3 full sized windows open and 2 small windows (ie chat windows)

a) E-Mail
b) FF Browser 1
c) FF Browser 2
d) YIM or AIM chat 1
e) YIM or AIM chat 2

If I click (not alt-tab) through from (a) to (b) to © to (b) to © like I would normally do while working and then click on (d), in theory the chat window should pop up with © in the background, however it seems randomly (d) will pop open, but the background window will switch to either (a) or (b), sometimes remaining on © like it should.

- There is no pattern to this, and I can't force trigger it.
- It doesn't matter what the background window is. So it's not like a virus that's forcing a specific window open, sometimes e-mail will open, sometimes photoshop, doesn't matter. When it happens, it is usually the 2nd to last window I clicked instead of the last window like it should be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mod Edit: Changed the smilies back into (b)'s

When I alt-tab between two windows, the previous window is greyed out but remains in the foreground.

This happens between windows of any program, whether it's Chrome, File Explorer, Firefox, Microsoft Word...

The new window is the active window, but it remains covered by the previous window.

The only way to switch between windows is for me to minimize the first window. Occasionally, alt-tab functions correctly and the previous window is sent to the background, and the new window appears in front of it.

Is there a solution to this?

A:Alt-tab: window greyed out but does not move to background

I would try one of the free Alt Tab enhancement utilities. See if it does the same thing. Maybe you will get lucky and the 3rd party program won't have the bug. There should be many free ones on download sites like www.Softpedia.com www.Snapfiles.com SourceForge - Download, Develop and Publish Free Open Source Software and similar. Just make sure it supports Windows 8 or Ten so that it knows about the Start Screen.

Is there a way to edit the default theme so it looks like with the Properties - Compatibility - Disable visual themes? Setting the option is a good solution but disabling visual themes for many applications causes problems with them, e.g. with foobar2000. Which gets violated too.

A:Aero + classic window background

I suspect the answer is no as the theme that looks like that is that (if you see what I mean!) W7 automatically shuts down incompatible visual effects in most cases of incompatibility so this shouldn't happen. Do you have the latest releases of the affected applications? Foobar was updated at the end of April and Inkscape has a new (admittedly alpha) version since 1st of June.

Anyone know how to disable the background update or monitoring? I already disable the Window update at administrative tools and all the update that I know which include antivirus. However, my internet speed still very slow. My internet package comes with slow speed and I could not go into webpage when there is update or programs using my internet connection in background. I can only surf the internet when there is no update in behind. I would appreciate if anyone of you could let me know how to solve this issue. Thanks
