Q: im looking for the pinouts for a lenovo ideapad 310-15abr battery

i managed to fry the power in part of motherboard after water damage. but the battery part still works. i connected an old battery and it booted. i need the pinouts and voltages, etc so i can i theory connect a external power source. this would save me 200 quid on a new motherboard. this is the 2nd 310 laptop that i have broken due to water damage, so im looking for a cheap fix. im not a beginner to electronics but ive looked everywhere and cannot find a schematic or diagram. please help.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I received my IdeaPad 310-15ABR on December 1st and on December 2nd I called in a ticket and was left a little dissatisfied on the troubleshooting abilities of tech support.  I was experiencing a battery drain faster than I would expect. When unplugged I am getting maybe about 3 hours of use - this is with power saver settings activated and really only web browsing and such. No mega gaming or movies etc So when I called tech, they immedietaly told me to send back the laptop - but at my own expense which to me seems odd, why should I pay to send Lenovo my defective new machine? After getting off the phone I did my own research and found that "location" was on, so I turned it off and that bought me some time on the battery - not a lot... but enough for me to realize that I needed to test this machine out on my own for a week or two before sending it back.  So I am about to send it back, but I am wondering - how long are you getting on your battery for the same machine? I don't want to send it back if what I am getting is unfortunately the reality of what I should be getting.

I just received my new IdeaPad 310 15ABR and it seems that the battery has some sort of problem because it lasts around 1h30 (or less!). This laptop was replaced because of this battery but now I think it is a problem with the IdeaPad 310 15ABR series. I was going to calibrate the battery with the aid of Lenovo Settings app, but my version (3.155.0.0) doesn't have the calibration button. How can I calibrate the battery within this version?

I bought a Lenovo IdeaPad 320-15ABR two or three months ago from a Best Buy in the area, and recently I've been having issues where the computer will just freeze. Basically what happens is that I will be doing something, like watching a video or playing some game, and then after a while the computer will freeze, forcing me to shut down the computer manually by holding down the power button for a few seconds, which I know is not good for the computer. Recently, I've also had issues with the computer even freezing after a couple hours of being idle. I got this laptop so I could do work on my college assignments and also be able to get some gaming capability out of it as well, as it's better than the laptop I had initially, and I would like to get this figured out. Any help would be really appreciated.

No matter what I try, this laptop restarts and it keeps doing so since I bought it.I tried several workarounds, including that one that says to disable fast start but I never got it to run without reboots. So I dropped Windows completely and I installed Ubuntu, but that didn't help much; the computer still restarts. Can anyone tell me why this happens, at least? I'm getting mad.

Hey guys,I've recently purchased this laptop, but I can't seem to make it work as I would expect it to work. So the thing is, I bought this laptop for learning purposes, but also for gaming. I didn't have big expectations, because this is not a gamer laptop, but it does have decent specs. I think the problem might be with the drivers, because even if I change the graphics in-game, the fps doesn't  change, I get the same fps in League of legends with very low settings and with high-medium settings, and also get constant fps-spikes, or some other games can't even detect my secondary gpu(for example: Path of the exile, Civ VI, none of these are very demanding games). The things I tried:downloading drivers from lenovo websitetrying to update these drivers with through radeon settingsclearing all the drivers, and using auto-detect of amd to download new driversmessing around with radeon settings options(assigning gpus to programs/setting priority to them)checking if it was a temperature issue(nothing went above 60 °C)I also want to add, that I tried most of these right after installing windows on my laptop, so it was relatively clean. Please tell me, what I can do to make it work, or if I should give up, because thats what this laptop has to offer. Thank you in advance,Tamás My specs:ProcessorAMD A12-9720P RADEON R7, 12 COMPUTE CORES 4C+8G Video CardAMD Radeon R7 Graphics Video Card #2AMD Radeon R8 M535DX RAM4.0 GB Operating Syste... Bought 310-15ABR few days ago, and i have issue with restarting this laptop. The problem is that, whenever I click "Restart" or if Windows automatically restarts (after updates), the laptop will shutdown and boot to lenovo logo screen and stay there forever. I have to click ALT CTRL DEL to reboot it again and it will then show lenovo logo and boot into windows. This happens on every restart. Essentially restart functionality is as good as shutdown. Its better to shutdowns and then click the power on button. Here is what i have discovered:- The issue disappears if i am not logged in into my windows account. So basically if i boot into windows and dont sign in, then restart, it will restart into windows and go to login screen.- The issue pops up if i am logged in into my windows account and click the restart button, no matter how long i used the laptop Here is what i have done so far:- Reset bios to default setting - Reset windows to defaut- Installed windows from scratch using bootable USB.- Flashed the latest bios - Installed and uninstalled all the lenovo drivers- Installed a new SSD replacing the hard disk The issue hasnt resolvedNeed some help ThanksRon

A:Lenovo 320-15abr 80x battery concern

Hi Choychoy,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It is safe to use the laptop on ac and rather preferred as this would save battery life cycle .
Nowadays newer batteries have protective chips that limit over charging it preventing burnouts. The machine auto switches to ac mode soon as the battery charging met its threshold limit.

From the hardware manual (page 22):
" Battery charging does not start until the Power Meter shows that less than 95% of the total power remains; under this condition the battery pack can charge to 100% of its capacity. This protects the battery pack from being overcharged or from having a shortened life"

It is still true that heat is one of the important factors that degrades battery but as the machine goes on ac power it does not use the battery still small amount of heat can still radiate internally. Using the laptop within low ambient temperature or using bottom cooler fans can help in prolonged gaming.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Good afternoon all.  I'm hoping someone here can help me with this.  I bought this Lenovo ideapad 320-15ABR at Thanksgiving and received it at the beginning of December.  I bought it mainly so that I could use Photoshop, Microsoft Office and to watch TV/movies online.  The only things I've installed on this computer since receiving it was the Photoshop 2018 and Avast Antivirus.  I disabled the Windows Defender antivirus and I couldn't find McCaffee anywhere on my computer.  Anyway, I've used this computer to watch movies a few times now for the last several weekends and at least once during a movie (either through Netflix or Amazon Prime) I will get an error message that reads something along the lines of:  "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart."  Basically the blue screen of death.  It's incredibly frustrating because I've been happy with Lenovo products in the past.  I'm also not a huge fan of Windows 10 and while I don't blame Lenovo for the changes Microsoft keeps making, these new changes coupled with the constant blue screens of death on a brand spanking new computer have made me a very unhappy customer.  Because of the changes with Windows, I'm not familiar at all with how to troubleshoot this problem (or even where to start) to see if there is something wrong with my laptop hardware or if it's a driver error.  If I can I'd like to try to understand how to find out what... Hi All, I'm looking to upgrade the hard drive in this laptop as it seems to be the only real bottleneck performance wise. From what I can find online only the 2.5" form factor at Sata III 6 GB/s is supported, but there is an adapter for the M.2. form factor but still at 6 GB/s. My main question is is there something I am missing and is this laptop capable of having a PCIe NVMe SSD hard drive to achieve transfer speeds of 32 GB or is it limited to Sata III 6 GB/s because the port option isn't there? - Michael

Despite the manufacturer's claim of 7 hours battery life on my Lenovo Ideapad 320S-14IKB - 81BN (S/N: MP1CHQTJ), I only get around 3-4 hours. This is with light usage, Reddit, a little bit of youtube etc. CPU usage was mostly around 0-5% the entire time. This was with the max CPU state in power settings reduced from 100% to 85%. However, I do have the screen at 100% brightness. As a different test, I tried doing (almost) nothing (apart from keeping the screen bright), and got 6 hours out of the battery. Is there a simple solution to increase this? It's only a 30 Wh battery (2 cell). Maybe in the future, a 60 Wh (4 cell?) one will come out for this model?

Hello! I am new to Lenovo and picked up my 1st laptop yesterday when my HP died. I have always had HP and grew tired of how easy they break & poor battery life, so I wanted to try a different band. I love the computer, the keyboard, track pad & screen are amazing. I bought the ideapad 320-15IAP for about $330 (Including tax) The specs at the store advertised 4.5-5 Hours of battery life, but I have not been able to get a charge better than 2 hours. For someone that uses my laptop at work and on the go, this will not do. Can any one offer up any advice? Does lenovo sell stronger batteries for ideapad that I can replace with this current battery?  My next issue is the Windows 10 update that you are forced to do, I have been trying to install it since 9PM last night, it is now 9PM tonight, a full 24 hours, and it has not fully installed. I have done my fair share of google searches and many people have had these same issues too, but no good solutions outside of deep computer hacking, I don't want to have to do that on a brand new computer. Thanks for any and all help!

The battery for my Lenovo ideapad 300 ? 15ISK has shown gradual degeneration and after less than a year it failed completely (battery report at the bottom). I?m deeply disappointed in Lenovo?s response to this. Initially they asked for having it in for repair, which in my case and I assume many others, is completely unacceptable. Being without a PC is extremely difficult and sending it away for a trivial issue like a battery replacement is unacceptable. But that was only the start of it, I checked Lenovo website and could not locate a replacement battery. Hence, I contacted Lenovo by phone but surprisingly I was told that the battery could not be sourced by Lenovo and I was recommended PC world or Amazon, neither have the correct battery in stock as it turned out.A lot of battery suppliers are listed on Google but most of them has very limited description and it seems very easy to end up with the wrong battery. I contacted Lenovo through Twitter asking for some assistance, but after several tweets explaining the issue, Lenovo vent quiet(!). A couple of weeks later I tried again, but with the same abysmal result. So, at the end, I gave up and ordered what hopefully is the right battery. Sadly, after Twitting Lenovo that I gave them up, they came back with the requested information?Lenovo is extremely good at promoting themselves, but be aware the equipment might not be up to scratch and their customer support is certainly not, not on their website, not on the phone, no... Hello, I'm having problems with my battery removal. As my title shows, I have a Lenovo ideapad 100, and I am supposed to be sending it off for repairs. For my issue, I need to take the battery out because it's not part of the problem; however, I can't get it out. I read on here to take the base off, but when trying to do that, it seems that it's breaking the inner clips keeping it attached. I don't want to keep breaking these off just to pay for them to be repaired later on. Is there a simpler way to take this base off?

Hi, I'm new to the community and I don't know where to put this thread. Please move it to the approriate board if I'm mistaken. So I bought this laptop, Ideapad 110 15-AST yesterday and started to tinker with it a bit (by that I mean customize it to suit my preferences and replace all stock softwares and features with mine) and I noticed something: its battery life. It's shorter than I thought. I thought it would be able to last at least 4~5 hours, but I can only get it to last for about 2~3 hours, that is with display brightness set to lowest and volumes muted, and only Wi-Fi is open (using chrome for browsing). Is this normal, or did I get a unit with defective battery? And how do I know if the laptop is already 100% charged when turned off? I don't want turning it on just to see the percentage if I won't really be using it. Cheers
