Q: Dell XPS 13 9360 Wifi disconnection and router AP crash Issues

Hi All,
I received my brand new Kaby Lake powered Dell XPS 13 9360 a couple of weeks back and I have been suffering from wifi disconnect issues since then. The USB LAN connection works perfectly using the Dell USB C adapter.
I have tried all the standard troubleshooting steps:
1. BIOS and Killer 1535 Wireless Adapter Driver updated to latest version (including uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless drivers)
2. Updated Windows 10 to the latest anniversary edition
3. Changed Power Saving settings on the Wireless Adapter using Powershell commands as there are no Power management options for the Killer Wireless adapter in Device Manager
(Disable-NetAdapterPowerManagement -Name "Wi-Fi" -NoRestart)
After running the above command I get the status of the relevant power mgmt parameters as below (though not sure if its really effective)
DeviceSleepOnDisconnect : InactiveWakeOnMagicPacket : Disabled
4. Installed the latest Intel PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 10
Even after running step 1 and then later step,2 the wifi connection used to disconnect after some time (especially when a large file was being downloaded or any high network usage activity). Running a speed test of my broadband connection is a sure way to disconnect from wifi. More importantly this disconnection used to crash the Access Point on my TP-Link WR841N router which caused all my other devices to lose network connection as well and required a Router restart.
After steps 3 and 4 I have noticed the Wifi disconnections are not happening any more (atleast for now), but the Access Point crashes continue as it is, so effectively the wifi does not disconnect but the router AP crashes and needs a Router restart.
So my question to you all is do I need to change any config on the Wireless setup of my router to ensure the AP does not crash, or the should I change my router and get an AC router. If the router might not be the issue then it might be due to Windows 10 and the known issues with the Killer 1535 Wifi adapter itself.
I tried changing the Channel Width to 20 MHz but it reduced the network bandwidth and gave me 1/3rd of the available speed.
Any help and pointers especially keeping my specific router issue in mind would be much appreciated.

I had an issue with Wi-Fi dropping every few minutes on a particular network. In my case this was Virgin Media Hub 3.0 in the UK. To identify why this was happening I went into the event log (Start -> Run -> eventvwr.msc) and then into “Applications and Services Log” > “Microsoft” > “Windows” > “WLAN-AutoConfig”.
In here I could see a loop which relates to the networking issues;
Wireless security stopped.
WLAN AutoConfig service has successfully disconnected from a wireless network.
WLAN AutoConfig service started a connection to a wireless network.
Wireless network association started.
The issue appeared to be a recent update to the drivers and so I tried some new drivers from the Killer Networking website.
I used the Driver Only versions and this seemed (so far!) to have done the trick.
Thought I’d share in case anyone else has a similar issue and get it indexed by Google

Outdated drivers can indeed cause issues such as these. However, I wanted to mention that the latest Killer Control Center download - killernetworking.com/.../killer-control-center-x64 - also contains the latest drivers. They all install with the same package - there is no need to install drivers separately, and the Killer Control Center can significantly speed up any latency sensitive task, from gaming to browsing, so it's definitely worth using!

I received a new DELL XPS 13 9360 with Win 10 for my Sales Dept. Unfortunately when I try to connect to any WiFi network I get a blue screen with this message IRQL_UNEXPECTED_VALUE. All drivers are up to date and there is no additional software installed. When I have it connected on LAN (dock station WD15) I can connect to WiFi but when I unplug laptop from docking station and it switch to WiFi there is the same story with blue screen. Any idea how to fix this issue? Thank you in advance.

If it is doing a real Blue Screen, it may show a driver on the bottom of the text.  If it does, let us know what it is.
When the Creator's build was installed on my 9365, it started Blue Screening for Netwtw04.sys.  It stopped for me after some upgrades.  If your system is new you may be going through that same situation.

My wifi when plugged in is fine, downloading as expected at around 100Mbs as soon as I disconnect the power even on 100% battery the download rate drops to less than .02Mbs.
I've updated all the drivers and the BIOS using the Dell updating tools.
The Dell support assist is just sitting on data transfer verification test after 17 minutes.
I cant download the Killer drivers as it tells me theyre not signed for the system.
it basically makes the laptop unusable on battery, which is one of the main points of having a laptop.

I have seen some comments with such a situation when running the Killer Software Suite or whatever it is called.  I don't remember the power source being involved.

I've recently purchased a dell xps 13 9360 
I have had a few issues such as screen flicker every so often, maybe twice a day, however it doesn't affect me too much. 
There was also slight coil whine, especially when using skype and intensive task, however I managed to remove that by turning off turbo boost in bios. 
Just then the blue screen "your pc has run into a problem and needs to restart" and a very loud noise occured.  I have attached the event log for when this occured, not sure if it helps. 
I've only had the laptop for just less than a month and I really need it now so I can't and don't plan on returning it. Just wondering if anyone could suggest to me what to do, i.e. could I send it for maintenance in a few weeks time and they could thoroughly test the system?

I'd suggest you first run the diagnostic tool to check hardware on the system by following the steps below:
1. Power off system
2. Power on system, quickly tap the F12 key continuously until you see Preparing one time boot menu in the top right corner of the screen. In the boot menu, stroll down to Diagnostic and then click it. After quick tests, click on Hard Drive, and then Thorough Test Mode. Report back any error code.

I don't know if I am alone with this issue.... hopefully someone can help? 
My XPS 13 9360 will lose it's bluetooth connection when using the Microsoft Designer Mouse.  The bluetooth menu will also disappear from the control panel, however, the bluetooth information remains in Device Manager. 
I end up having to re-install the bluetooth drivers and it takes a few attempts for the bluetooth menu to re-appear.  I've switched all the bluetooth services on, checked the BIOS and everything looks OK. 
Please help :)

Could you let us know what version of Wi-Fi card you have?
If you open Device Manager and look at the Bluetooth device and its properties, there is an Events tab.  You might check that to see what might be happening.  If it is losing it drivers and having to reinstall over and over, it might show up.

Hi!I've had some problems with my XPS 13 9360 recently where video freezes for a few seconds quite every now and then (every few minutes sometimes). This happens when i watch youtube or stream video from elsewhere aswell. A few times this happened, I saw an error message: "webGL encountered a problem"(this was on youtube) which basically crashed the video and I had to reload it. I solve the problem by exiting fullscreen and then refresh the site. I can sometimes watch for longer without any streaks if im lucky.I updated windows 10 a few days ago and I'm not exactly sure but I think the problem might have started to occur after that update. How can I solve this problem and where do I start to tackle the problem?Thanks in advance!

Hello, I am a bit of a hard time with 2 routers on one network and unfortunately as things stand now they both have to be there. So I just got ADSL and the only modem option available to me was one with a 4-port wired router, I hooked that up into my existing network of about 9 computers (5 laptops and 4 desktops) which is connected by another 4-port WiFi router.

I started out with my only goal of hooking 3 of these computers to the internet after I got the DSL by some MAC filtering configured in the WiFi router. But, having the DSL modem/router has created another issue. I am using 2 separate IP gateways for both the routers which are in the same subset, I can connect to both of them from all my machines. The problem is I don't have any control over which computer connects to what router. I am trying to avoid setting each PC up with a static IP that needs internet access.

Here is my setup in more detail. My ADSL router is and my WiFi router is and both have the subnet My ADSL connection has dynamic IP and the modem/router is connected into a LAN port on the WiFi router. I have tried disabling DHCP on the modem/router and changed my WiFi router IP to that of the modem (which was counter productive) to no avail. Someone mentioned MAC address cloning but I am not sure if it will work in this setup. Hello everyone,

Here's the problem. My Dell Inspiron 1764 just started crashing every time I put it into standby. Screen will go blank, as expected. But, the HD will continue to spin for about 5 min, then the machine shuts down. It does this most times if I hibernate as well.

Here's the catch. If I reboot and don't connect to a wifi network, it will standby and hibernate just fine. Once it's been connected, even if I disconnect after, it will crash in standby.

What's been tried so far:

Full disk check
Uninstalled and reinstalled all network drivers
Replaced the offending files from a good working win 7 machine (see below)
Full virus scan in safe mode

Are there any differences if you are on battery or on ac adapter?

Have you updated with latest BIOS?

Try disabling hibernation completely, and just use the standby feature and see if it helps.

Also a very good tip would be to uninstall and reinstall your video drivers with latest.

In my house we have had various problems with our previous router.
It was always playing up, it wouldn't connect to websites it would randomly lose connection to the entire house occasionally.
Therefore we bought a new router which works perfectly through the Ethernet cables and on lan etc.
However there is a huge issue with the wifi, it will work for about 1-2 hours and then it will lose all connectivity on the wifi until you restart the router, which is an inconvenience to my brother who plays world of warcraft alot and always seems to be something going on. We have tried various channels through the router configuration, including 1 and 11 the latter of which it is currently set to. There is one other router in our area set to 7 so technically there should be little interference.

I am confused and have no idea where to start... I apologise in advance for the wall of text.

Recently I have been experiencing odd issues with my WiFi router ( at least I think its the router) ZyXel Keenetic Giga II. The most annoying of which is the periodic inability to load random webpages. For example, I might be able to load google but not any of the search results while at the same time being able to browse reddit on my phone or tablet. The pattern changed constantly and it doesn't seem to affect any particular web pages. Like I said - random. This happens once or twice a week and seems to be increasing in frequency. I have tried rebooting the router. Rolling back to factory settings, changing DNS. With no result. It only resolves itself when it "feels" like it and usually lasts from 5 min to several hours. It is also worth mentioning that I hardly ever use my laptop and most of the browsing and streaming is done using various mobile devices.

Any help in defeating my router would be greatly appreciated.

Since the summer, I've had incredibly bad and inconsistent WiFi speeds on my brand new laptop at my home network. My upload speed on this device is normal with other devices on my network, but my download speeds are normally very much slower or inconsistent. I'll check the speed one time and it will show 11 Mbps, then again a few seconds later and it will hover around .5-.1 if the test can be done at all and not be stopped due to internet connection issues but it sometimes slowly creeps up to higher speeds, but not really to where I would expect it for normal functioning (other devices get above 16 Mbps). The service I used to check speeds is the Measurement-Lab provided by google (first result for ?internet speed test?). My computer remains connected to the network as far as I can tell (the bars never go away and I don't get a notification), it just seems like nothing gets through sometimes. This causes certain web pages to take forever to load, if at all, and online gaming is a pain due to excessively long loading screens (often resulting in timing out) and sometimes inability to log into my account or reach the server.

Originally, I thought the issue was with the WiFi card driver as I had seen discussed by other users of this model. Changing/rolling back the driver would normally fix the issue, albeit for a limited time before the same issues would come back a few minutes later. I have the Dell XPS 13 9360 and have been using the Dell USB type-C adapter to connect to wired Ethernet network. I have a problem when waking up the laptop from suspend. VGA and USB on the adapter continue to work well after wake from suspend but the Wired Network functionality of the adapter is not recognized.
Note that if I unplug and replug the adapter it is recognised correctly.
The adapter is using the driver r8152 for wired networking, I am using Linux Mint 18.1 (Ubuntu 16.04 based) and kernel
Besides this I think almost everything works perfect with the laptop

I bought a brand new Toshiba Satellite L75-C7250 w/Win10. I can access the internet on an unsecured network or hot spot, but I cannot log into my wireless router. All of my other devices login properly. I have tried every "fix" from the internet, and it still will not recognize or accept my password. I've updated all drivers, disabled all firewalls and anti-virus software (even deleted the McAfee that came on the machine). I've unplugged/reset the modem and router.

Any new ideas out there?

WiFi Router Issues

Hi Guys,

I recently set up a new ASUS router on my Virgin Media modem and the speeds are fantastic 140 + mbps, through WiFi! However, usually every 10mins or so, the wifi is completely unusable is slower than some 2G connections.

Internet is still working as I have a wired connection on my pc which works fine, does anyone have any clue what this may be?

I've been having trouble whenever I try to connect wirelessly for almost two months.

Here is what happens: It is not easy to connect from a series of available WIFI,due to poor signal and this happens in places where I used to connect rapidly. Also, I get constantly disconnected, again due to poor or non existent WIFI signal. Since all this started to take place I have to connect practically next to a/the modem (in desperate instances, I even have to use an Ethernet cable), whereas previously distance to the router did not seemed to influence the signal I was getting or the possibility of connecting. What I mean is, I could get fairly good signal within the limited possible distance to connect to a modem.
Moreover, the system started to crash often, specially if using a few programs. This is a pretty new machine, so again it is evident that something out of place is occurring. While surfing the net, it may freeze the whole window or tab. Other times the system becomes painfully slow, all of which did not occurred before. All these various malfunctions commenced 45 days ago more or less.

So far I've tried NPE, since I use w8 tried the option of refreshing the computer, but nothing has helped.

I have a Dell with Windows 10. Attempting to install a Dell C1760 Wireless laser printer using wireless connection. My NetGear router is located upstairs. During installation with the CD, I am required to push the WPS button on the router while the WiFi button on the Dell printer is flashing. I have no WPS button on my router that I can find. Is there another way?

I've been using XPS 13 for ~3 months and noticed it's constantly running fan on full power which is really noisy and still gets really really hot. It also affect performance because apparently it scales down CPU frequency.
I thought I have dust in my fan so I opened it up, cleaned it but there were not much.
I'm on Linux Mint 18, kernel 4.8, latest BIOS (as of today).
Here is my sensors output

Hey everyone,
I'd really appreciate any help you guys can give on the issue...I'm at my wits end at this point...

So anyway, about a month ago my old 2wire modem pretty much kicked the bucket for good (after about 4 years of more or less dedicated service with the occasional hiccup here and there, I was kind of saddened yet relieved) and I was left without internet for a few days. I contacted my ISP with the issue, and after a bunch of failed restart attempts on their end (I told them the damn thing was dead already, but they were insistent on making sure I wasn't bs'ing them) they finally relented and decided to send me their new Pace 4111n router/modem.

A few days later, low and behold, I had a new Pace and guess what? IT HAD WIFI!!

The reason why this came as such an interesting surprise was because my old 2Wire that my ISP had originally provided us with was simply a modem with no router/wifi capabilities on it. In order to bypass the lack of Wifi, I had to purchase a Netgear N300 router and had it hooked up to the 2Wire for years with no connectivity issues.
Anyway, with the new Pace in hand, I put my old Netgear away and plugged the new baby in....and here is where things kinda went downhill....
Now...my old set up was kinda strange...I used to have the 2Wire modem hooked up to the Netgear router and in between had a Grandstream HT502 Voip phone adapter plugged in (we have the need in my household for long distance phone service, and in order to ... Read more

Hey all,

It's my first post here, so I'll try to be as helpful in my explanations as possible.

Basically I'm running Windows 10 64-bit (free download version) and am trying to use my HTC ONE (m7) with Trinus VR. For the least latency I'm trying to use it through USB tethering. The problem is that my computer keeps dropping and reconnecting to the phone. Plus, even though the phone's USB tethering is on, I'm not getting a 'tethering' connection (only able to explore the file structure).

Now, as far I can tell, according to a google search, most of the problem comes down to the Microsoft USB drivers(? need confirmation on this). I've changed my power options and disabled the "USB selective suspend setting", I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the HTC Sync and HTC SyncManager software AND uninstalled all of the USB devices in the Device Manager.

It will still, on occasion, go through a cycling disconnect and reconnect pattern.

Do you ladies and gentleman have any more ideas that I can try?

Hello all,

My company has many Dell Vostro's in circulation of older and newer hardware types.

The newest one's we have: Vostro 3360, 3460 and 3555 are all having major Wifi connectivity issues with their Dell 1905 (pardon if the model is off) Wireless B/G/N Bluetooth cards. Updating drivers of all versions has not solved the issue and rolling back to the oldest ones doesn't help either.

We decided to purchase a couple Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 Dualband Wifi/Bluetooth cards to replace the Dell 1905 cards to see if the card was the culprit, but after taking 2 of the systems apart and installing the card, the computer would not accept the new card at all. In fact, loud beeping as if the RAM was bad or something started. Are these systems only able to use the Wifi cards they are equipped with? Seems kind of strange that you couldn't buy another manufacturer's mini-PCI-E Wifi card and use it in these machines.

Any idea what could be happening? Any help or direction would be very helpful, as I am running out of ideas on why these newer system's wifi isn't working on our network with all our older Dell's and Apple computers.

As the title of my post states, I'm having issues with my Windows 10 Wifi or lack thereof.

Let me clarify. I just got FIOS installed back in May 2016. Originally, it was supposed to be installed in March but then Verizon workers went on strike.

Anyway, before getting FIOS and the Quantum Modem/Router, I had DSL Linksy router. I attempted to access/utilize the wireless capabilities of the old DSL router and lo-and behold it worked. I was able to use the "Cast to" feature with the Samsung Smart TV. Everything was working great. Then I got the FIOS Quantum Modem/Router and now not only did the Wifi disappear from my Windows 10 "Settings" but the WLAN Network adapter is also missing from my "Device Manager". Basically I need to know if this is FIOS Modem/Router or something with my motherboard. I don't know if it's the motherboard but I'm not ruling the possibility out that it could be. I say this because there wasn't an issue with WLAN Adapter missing from the "Device Manager" before I got new so-called improved FIOS Quantum Modem/Router. Regardless of how things shake out I would appreciate any help that you can provide.


P.S. I might not get back to you quickly as sometimes when I get home from work the last thing I feel like doing to getting on the computer.

Dell Inspiron 1750, Windows 7 x64 - no wifi access through my Windstream 2wire router.

Other devices both Mac and PC are still connecting through my router so I'm pretty sure it's in the DELL. Out of warrantee of course.

I can see networks in the "connect to a network" box but when I try to connect to them, it brings up a box that says unable to connect to network. Most of the time the wireless status icon shows 5 unlit bars with an orange dot over them.

The only suggestion from trouble shooter is reset the router by turning it off and on. No go there.

I can connect with ethernet cable with no problem.

I've tried the "flush.bat" and other suggestions in other forums with no success.

My network adapter - Intel(R) Wifi Link 5100 AGN - I've updated the driver
it says it's working.

I'm sure hoping the smart helpers might get me wifi-ing again.

Welcome to the forum djbeede.

You appear to be connected both wired and wirelessly here, valid IP for both connections, the ipconfig/all would show me more than just ipconfig. You should unplug the Ethernet when testing the wireless as an Ethernet connection will override a wireless connection most every time.

Do you have any type of third party anti virus software installed on this system?

Have you tried resetting the router using the actual reset button on the side of the router?

i have to keep going to network connections, diagnose, then it automatically finds adapter problems, fixes it, but then again it disconnects after a while. what should i do? i am so frustrated.

i have netgear r7000 (ac1900) router. it is dual band router. I cannot see 5.0ghz frequency range on my xps 13 9360 2017 model. I can see 5.0ghz range on my phone, tv and other devices. I updated all the drivers on my xps 13 but still cannot see the range.

Try updating the firmware on the router.  The 9360 definitely supports 5 GHz since that's mandatory for 802.11ac devices.  And because this is a Netgear router, I assume that your 2.4 and 5 GHz networks have different SSIDs, correct?  That certainly helps when troubleshooting, but I've avoided Netgear equipment partly for that reason because it prevents dual band clients from picking the band that will work best for them at any given time.  With a laptop or phone that moves around, sometimes at longer range 2.4 GHz will actually perform better, but with uniquely named networks, the device will stick to whichever network is ranked more highly essentially until it can't see it anymore, even if switching bands earlier would have resulted in better performance.

im havin a few problems with my router disconnectin me (bouncing) from msn, irc and any online games. it stays connected for a short while but then disconnects an reconnects an i dont know why. ive tried alsorts of settings an nothin has worked. my ISP is no use whatsoever in helping me. my router is an ETEC PTI-845.

I have a DIR-615 router model. My router would disconnect for about 4 times a day. When that happens, I would have to unplug and plug the router to bring back the green DSL light on the router otherwise, it would stay disconnected. Any suggestions?

Some things you can try here, listed in the order you should try them.
For wireless connections, remove all the stored wireless profiles and search for networks. You'll have to enter the encryption key again, which is sometimes the issue for connection problems.
For wireless connections, change the channel on the router, I like channels 1, 6, and 11 in the US.
For wireless connections, try moving either the wireless router/AP or the wireless computer. Even a couple of feet will sometimes make a big difference.
Update the network drivers (wired and wireless) on your computer to the latest available.
Update the firmware to the latest version available on the manufacturer's site.
Reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure.

Many times these measures will resolve a lot of intermittent issues.

Hello all,
I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 V4 router. The system is a PC running win XP on Cable internet.
Recently, I loose wireless intenet connection on my wireless laptop. The ethernet still works. But I have to unplug and replug the router to gain internet access again on my laptop. Its very intermitten. It didnt happen at all yesterday, but I have had to replug four times today already.
I thought maybe it was my cordless telephone and change the channel in the router, did not work.
I do not want to do a firmware update. I did this on my last router that was the same model and I couldnt access Napster anymore.
Any ideas why i am dropping internet access intermitanly?

Well, this is very likely a firmware issue. Here's my list of things to do to solve issues like this, if you're not willing to do them, I don't know what to tell you.

I installed Ubuntu 16.04 on my XPS 13 9350.  It does have the Broadcom wifi/bt adapter.
My wifi issue is the computer will not connect to my 5GHZ network. Every time I try it just fails to connect and asks me for the password even though it's correct.  I can connect to my 2.4ghz but not the 5ghz

My BT issue is I have always have to repair my BT mouse when the computer restarts.
I previously had a 9343 and I had no issues like this.  I was able to connect to my 5ghz network and using Bluetooth manager as a trusted device my mouse always reconnected at a reboot.  
I know there are some issues with Broadcom adapters but my 9343 had one and I did not have this issue at all.  Is it just because the 9350 has a newer broadcom chip so it's not fully supported?

I bought a new lenovo legion y730, when i installed the new wifi driver, it has frequent sudden disconnections. When i installed the previous driver, it helped a little but still there are sudden drops and disconnection of the wifi. Can anyone one help?

Hi all,  I have a brand new Yoga 530 i5-IKB and the WiFi connection remains connected but loses Internet connectivity every 5-10 mins. This only happens when operating on battery power. So far I have tried: Updating all drivers including BIOSUsing only a 5g networkSetting the advanced power plan settings to be identical between battery and powerAs said above, I don't have this issue with the power adaptor connected using the same wifi as when I constantly get disconnected when running on battery. This makes me believe an issue related to power saving options. Can anyone offer any assistance please?

Hi,I bought two XPS-13 laptops which were both pre-installed with windows. I have since partitioned and installed Ubuntu on both.One of the laptops had persistent wifi issues disconnection issues. The wifi on the problematic machine was also unreliable at resuming from suspend, and had poor range. I was also seeing many PCIe bus errors in dmesg.
In an attempt to get some stability, I tried everything, from firmware, bios kernel versions, kernel/module parameters.In the end I decided to replace the wifi card with an Intel 8265, which has worked flawlessly since installation. One thing I did find while removing the killer card, which could be related to the poor range, was that the tension in one of the antenna coaxes had detached the barrel of the connector from the killer wifi card. the card was also not installed squarely within the pci express socket.
As for the other laptop, which has exactly the same operating system configuration; the wifi hasn't had any problems whatsoever.
So I think it is just "luck of the draw", my guess is that a certain batch of the killer cards have a poor manufacturing yield.

Help me please!! Anyone have this problem??

My router is brand new - a D-Link DI-604 basic 4-port ethernet router. It works just fine sharing a Cable Internet connection with four computer in a network... except that every person experiences periodic disconnections several times a day! I have Windows 2000, and it will say "Network Cable Unplugged" and I will be disconnected all of a sudden, then after about 4 seconds it will go back up again. The cables are fine... the lights are always on okay... weird no?

I'm not the greatest in computers so could someone help?? THANKS A MILLION!

It doesn't look like a router crash, it should take more than 4 seconds to boot up..

Cabling problems could be one reason. How long cables do you use? Did you crimp them yourself? Do the diconnects occur when using short cables or forcing the network speed to 10Mbps?

And of course I can give you the default reply: is the router using the latest firmware?

I just got a new router from Belkin it's Model F5D92300-4

The internet seems to work fine on this computer and the laptop.

However my sister told me that the laptop sometimes says it cannot connect to some website and she had to refresh it few times before the website came up.

I've been playing Diablo 2 and before I had the Belkin Router it didn't disconnect me now it's disconnecting me every 5-30mins

Also it seems to disconnect on every game I play or my sister on the laptop.

I went to the virtual server and added the ports and no luck.

Also when I try to run the Setup CD it came with, it just gives me like the MIcrosoft Error thing and tells me to send the report which doesn't really do anything for me..

Can anyone help me solve this problem? It's very frustrating..

Hello BC,I'm posting today with a problem that I believe might be a very easy fix. This PC's WIFI Connection is constantly slowing down or disconnecting. This problem didn't arise until about two days ago when COMCAST did service work on the cable connections in my area. The problem will arise, and I will go and flush my DNS with MiniToolBox and then my Net will be back to blazing speed, but I have to do this step fairly frequently.I've also scanned with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and GMER. A:Disconnection from Router/Slow Speeds

The first thing I would do is be on the phone to Comcast. They may have fixed a video problem and caused a Internet problem. Check with any neighbors using the Comcast Internet.
Everything was fine until they fixed(??) the wiring.
I do not see why you think it is a problem where your computer is.

However try hooking up direct to the modem, no router and do some speed tests and see how the connection works that way. You may (will) have o reboot the modem so it can find your PC and after testing so it can find your Router.

Direct wire takes the Router out of the equation.

I am running a dual boot with XP and Windows 7.
I have an orange livebox for connection.

On XP if I don't use the internet for an extended period of time my internet connection is just fine but on W7 I lose connection and have to unplug and then restart my router.

I have the power setting to maximum on the battery icon...using a desktop.

Anyone have a clue about this.

So there are couple of problems i am experiencing:
1) slow start up
2) when i pauze a video and hit play again, there is a 2-3 second lag of no audio
3) slow SSD benchmark
I recently posted a topic about the slow SSD and i already bought a new dell since then. This time however its an i7 instead of i5 and its also a different brand of hard drive.. Yet i am experiencing the same problem.. so this cant be hardware related then right.
And can all these problems have to do with the same issue? something that makes the SSD perform poorly?

4) simultaneous use of ,microphone and keyboard/mouse doesnt work??
its not normal right? that so many things are wrong?

Hello guys, I have a problem with my XPS regarding the power button..it turns on only after several tries..it is frustrating, sometimes i have to try for a few minutes. The led of the power button stays on a few seconds, then it goes off, the keyboard light is off, it won't boot. It doesn't matter if the AC power is connected. Thanks
