Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Stuck in zoom!

Q: Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Stuck in zoom!

I have been searching for awnsers but only found similar problems but not the same, Heres my story!

I have a windows XP Home Edition Version 2002, We stoped using it in I belive 2005 and then I decided I would set it up... This was in 2010 or 2009 and I got it running. about a month later I was messing with the zoom or resolution or something and it zoomed to the middle of the screen to the point were I was virtually unable to navigate, It took up the whole screen and didnt move so I restarted it and then decided to pack it away... Once again I took it out to find out the screen was damaged and it was StILL zoomed in in 2011 so I pulled out a old moniter (A tube Moniter) and it worked fine except it was STILL zoomed in! And I couldnt figure it out, I tried controll O and I tried Controll And scroll out and I tried to navigate to change resolution and tried to zoom out but couldnt navigate I was going to restore to factory settings but I dont have the disc and I am running out of ideas... Please help

Preferred Solution: Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Stuck in zoom!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a Dell Dimension 4300S and I just recently installed Windows XP Home Edition SP1a Version 2002 from the disk I have. When I try to download SP2 and SP3 from Microsoft I keep getting this box that says "Error Extracting". I can't download anything and sometimes when I'm on the internet on that computer it says "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close" and I send the error report and sometimes gives me the Blue Screen and starts dumping memory. Also it will not let me on the Windows Update page and the computer will not do automatic updates.

Does anyone know what the problem is? I've reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition SP1a Version 2002 two or three times now and ran repairs from the disk and I still get the same problems.

Let me know if I need to give any specs or anything.

This is the first time I am trying to use the Calendar since I bought this laptop 6 months ago.
I never logged on to the MS store.
The Calendar app came pre-loaded on my pc when I purchased it from Best Buy.

Windows 10 home premium.
Version 1607 (after the latest updates from MS.)
I log on with a local account.

I "left click" on "time of day" in the lower right corner of my screen and I get a pop up calendar.
(So, I'm thinking, "this is good.")
But when I click on the "+" symbol to add an event, the Calendar app tries to start, but then simply disappears.

The same thing happens if I click on the "Start" button and then scroll to "Calendar" and click on it.
It tries to start (A blue Calendar screen appears for a moment) but then disappears.

I did an Internet search and a bunch of folks describe what sounds like a similar issue.
The good folks seem to recommend different fixes.
And some folks say they have not been able to fix the issue.

Couple of questions, if I might ..............
Do I need to be signed into Windows 10 with a MS account in order to run Calendar ?
(I'll bet the answer is no. But I "have" read a couple of "How to use the Calendar app" documents where it says you DO need to use an MS account.)

Has anyone experienced the above issue ?
And if so, has anyone managed to fix it ?
Or does anyone have some advice ?

Hello, I have a big problem with my themes. My themes in Windows vista are all copies of "Windows Vista" And "Windows Classic" themes that are completely blank in the box where the picture should be. When I select ANY theme, it is in the Windows 98 theme, and I have tried stopping the Themes and starting it, setting it to automatic, but none of those work. Can someone please help?

A:Windows Vista Home Edition Stuck in 98 Classic Theme

Vista prevents changing from classic theme when you are low on resources. You'd need to give some more information.

Is your system running slow of late?

Is your c: drive full? How big is it? How much RAM do you have (control panel/system)?

Check control panel > system >advanced system settings> advanced tab > performance settings and check what windows is set to.

Then click advanced tab (still in performance settings) and look how large your virtual memory/paging file is.

You might need to clean house a bit. Run disk cleanup (start/all programs/accessories/system tools). Uninstall programs you don't want or use (contol panel/programs-programs and features/uninstall a program).

If you haven't defragged for a while do that when you get a chance (same location as disk cleanup)

Howdy, my brother! This computer is running XP Home SP2 on an Intel Core Duo HP Media Center - but it stopped has booting outside of Safe Mode. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/sty...fault/wacko.gifI allowed a computer novice friend who had been accessing his Yahoo!Mail acct from a public motel computer where he contracted a virus - without cautioning me - to access his mail from my PC. He says the virus on his Y!Mail is hardware independent - and modeled the behavior he found at the motel - i.e. when he attempts to write a new email or forward one, a script inserts nuisance text in that message. After he experienced that on my pc, web browser windows now run a script which hijacks the Zoom-in / Zoom out control and locks-up at either the zoom in or out (out is worse) because you only see a corner of the raster.I ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, AdAware, and my installed Avira AntiVir Guard - none of which detected anything but cookies. I installed some new camcorder software which rebooted the system. But after the Windows start-up screen, the screen just goes BLACK and the system is unresponsive. I booted in Safe Mode with Networking, downloaded and ran HijackThis to get log. I ran Dr.WebCureIt - which detected nothing in this mode. I have timely news video for CNN iReports Independence Day coverage which I seek to transfer from my camcorder to edit on this tower - if you would please help me get it back working again. Hi All

Here'e the background to this:-

I have just started to have problems with my Acer T120E Aspire. When the pc is switched on it boots up as normal, showing the Windows XP home edition splash screen and goes to
user accounts. When one is selected, it does'nt matter which one, it goes through the logging in procedure, showing the 'loading your personal settings' screen. However, after about ten seconds it goes blank the cpu fan cuts in and the computer restarts again.

I decided to repair XP as I could'nt even log in under safe mode. I borrowed a disc as I have misplaced the original disc that was supplied.

The repair was going exacly as the microsoft guidance said it would until I got the following error message with about 33 minutes of the repair to go:-

C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe 'windows cannot access the specified device path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item'.

I OK'd this box and it left the screen. About 15 second later I get a dialogue box for:-

Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade Wizard and the chance to change information like language and keyboard set up. I don't want to change anything and move through the screens till I get one that asks for the CD's product code. At this request I type in the product code on the OEM certificate on the side of the computer but it tells me that the cd is invalid.

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Ok, my computer crashed recently. Since then i have had it almost fixed. My friend installed the wrong version of windows xp on my computer. I'm supposed to have Windows Xp home edition, instead i have an invalidated copy of Windows xp Professional. I have the Operating system reinstallation cd for windows xp home edition and i have the drivers and utilities cd for my dell dimension which includes the device drivers and diagnostics and utilities. Both of these Cd's were sent to me by Dell recently. I am now ready to reinstall the proper version of windows Xp on my computer, which is the Home Edition and not the professional edition. First I need to save my files, all of my files. My problem is so complicated because when my friend installed Windows Xp professional edition on my computer, he installed it on the D drive. The C drive is reading everything though i believe. So what i need to do or want to do is move everything that is needed to either the C drive or the D drive so that i can delete windows xp professional and then install windows xp home edition on my computer. I want to save all of my files and please make a note that i do not have a backup drive or disk or software. I have heard that i can perform this function without backing up all of my files. """Can someone please help me."""
I believe i have everything needed to reinstall windows xp home edition and to save my files so i can go on about my day.

I happened to check my processes in the task manager and I find 10 incidents of outlook.exe running although I have closed out my outlook program (which is my primary email, NOT Outlook Express). All total they are using about 125,000K of memory. ( I have 1 gig in RAM)

Anyone know why this is?

TIA for any answers.

A:10 outlook.exe processes, outlook 2002 on XP home edition with SP1.

Not sure how it got that way without more information but what happens if you simply end those processes.

Then you can open it up again and see if it starts replicating itself. There may be more going on behind the scenes that you are not aware of yet. This might be a good initial test to try.

Lenovo COmmunity Several days ago my Lenovo T460 upgrades to Windows 10 Creators Edition (Version 1703) and my bluetooth stopped workign (well it was intermittent).  So I'd reinstall Windows 10, go our to the Lenovo software and drivers site to downlod the proper drivers and my bluetooth still failed.  The current driver listed is Intel 8260 Wireless Software for Bluetooth Technology for Windows 10 (64-bit) - ThinkPad X260, T460, version 19.30.1648.920, dated 2017/04/26.  So out of frustration I went out tothe intel site and install Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® for Windows® 10,  version 19.71.0., dated 7/18/2017.  and my system works. Question is Lenovo drivers not up to Creators or have I installed the wrong driver. It works but Lenovo typically want one to use the drivers listed, but in this case what listed doen;t work with Windows 10, creators edition.  There are also three other (older) 19.60.0, 19.50.1 and 19.40.1702, so I don't knwo which driver I should have installed.

While working with a Malware Response Tech, I did a repair install for Windows XP Media Center, and the install has frozen for about 3 days. The install froze just before the end when a black screen with the Windows logo and the words "Please Wait..." appears. There was an error that had popped up. It was related to a .dll file, but I did not write it's name down.

Originally, I was having issues with my laptop not accessing the internet due to a damaged Winsock Provider Catalog. This occurred just after I attempted to update my laptop through Windows update. I stopped the update, because the update had appeared to freeze while installing ".NET framework 3.5." I began working with Catbyte from the Malware Response Team. We found that I had acquired a [email protected] rootkit virus. Here is a link to all that we did http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic408652.html

If someone could help me with figuring out what to do, that would rock.

Thank You!

A:Windows XP Media Edition repair stuck on Please Wait...

My understanding...is that you do not have sufficient free space on the C: partition...for Windows to function effectively. My experience is that Windows needs 13-20% of the C: partition to be free space...in order for Windows to do its job properly.

If such is the case...I suggest that you remove the hard drive, attach it to a second system temporarily...and then move all video/graphics and other files from the C: partition. I would follow that up with running the chkdsk /r command on that drive.

Once those two things are done, I would move the drive back to the system it belongs in...and see if it reacts normally.

I'm just wondering. Im using Avast! I disagree with him but he keeps nagging, so im asking you guys what you think.

A:Would you guys go with Avast! Home Edition or Kaspersky Paid Edition

Both suites are okay. Avast! and Kaspersky have both high detection rates but it all comes down to the system resource usage. I have seen many posts that Avast! had a lighter load on a user's system. Kaspersky on the other hand seems to be heavier than Avast! It all comes down to your own decision though...

Alright, so I recently bought a brand new computer, and now I'm wanting to sell my laptop. Before I sell it, though, I want to do a complete wipe of the hard drive, and reinstall a fresh (legal) copy of Windows XP Home Edition, using the disc that originally came with my laptop.

So far, I've been able to completely reformat the hard drive, and setup loads just fine. The problem I run into, is when the OS is reinstalling. Here's what I get:

The thing is, I've got that exact disc in the drive already. This is the same disc that was originally bundled with my laptop. The OS and SP1 weren't on two separate discs. They were both put together on 1 disc, so there couldn't possibly be another disc to use. I've spent about an hour on Google, and finally found what I believe to be the solution to this situation. It comes straight from the horses mouth too: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=311755

The problem, though, is that pretty much everything on that Microsoft support page is foreign to me. Use a Windows 98 Startup disk? Where do I get one of those? Copy files using the command prompt? Yikes. Now I have a fairly good understanding of Windows and computers in general, but I never had to go through this much of a hassle the last time i reinstalled XP Home on this very same laptop.

I'm wondering if there might be a kind soul who might be able to give me a step by step of what I need to do to get XP Home reinstalled on my laptop before i sell it. Any i... Read more

hi there forum,, i loaded xp several times,, every time it boots up the data is on disc h,, is there any way that i can transfer this data from h to c,,,,,it is loading as disc h to be the main driver, can i change this to cdrive

A:windows xp home edition

Yes, you can .

First...system manufacturer and model?

What means did you use to install XP (MS Genuine XP CD, recovery/srestore CDs, etc.)?

When XP installs, it does a count of partitions already created. If there are any other partitions or supplementary drives (USB, flash, external, internal hard drives) attached...XP counts them. It then installs XP with the next drive letter available.

The typical way around this is (for me) to do a repair install with all miscellaneous drives temporarily disconnected...or remove the other drives, go into the XP Recovery Console and try the fixmbr command.

The letters cannot simply be changed, using Disk Management, because the C: letter cannot be reassigned this way. But removing/disconnecting the drive which currently sports C:...may result in C: being assigned to the proper drive simply by rebooting after removal of the partition/drive currently possessing C:.

What partition drive currently reflects the letter C:?

A graphic of your Disk Management would be useful, but not necessary. Start...type diskmgmt.msc and hit Enter, ti will show all drives/partitions as they are now.

I really messed up. Downloaded Ad-Aware. Did scan. Put files in quaratine. I decided to delete the files. Now needless to say my pc is running so slow. I have 3 users on my PC. When one user is logged on another user can not log on. Wondering did I delete registery files that I needed. If I am logged on and I select switch user and try to log on to another user and the screen freezes. I know I messed up. Is there any way to get my files back. I tried to do System file checker (/SCANNOW) but when I type in the commnad prompt the screens tells me /SCANNOW is not recognized as an internal or
external command. If just one user is logged on the PC works fine. If more than one user is logged on the computer freezes. Message not responding end now. Is there a solution?

I am currently running Windows ME on my computer and have problems with it. I just purchased a very expensive software which will not run with ME. I was told by the new software tech support that I should buy XP full edition rather than an XP upgrade so I would not have any remnants of ME, which I have done. Now I need to know what to do before I install the new XP. Do I have to first get rid of the ME on my computer before installing the new XP full version or can I try to install it without doing anything?

A:Windows XP Home Edition

The tech took you for a ride. You can buy the upgrade version and do a clean install as long as you have the original Windows ME disk. If you have the original ME disk and haven't opened the Windows XP full box, return it.

I am a total newby --how does my computer know if these disks i have - have been installed before?

A:Windows 7 home edition

Could you be more specific? "These disks" could be anything. If they are disk that came with the computer, chances are everything on them have already been installed.

You are pretty much out of luck, it is like no ticky no shirty! Your best option is to buy a new OS, you can find some cheap stuff on Ebay.
