I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi.
Thank you for all your support and security updates for my two Surface RTs.
They?re great and I don?t want to see them go.  A quick aside? It would be nice for my two Surface RTs and me, if Microsoft had a change of heart and decided to port Windows 10 RT with Office RT for Surface RT and get a few
more years support.  Anyway.
Today one of my Surface RT 8.1 provided the option on shut down, to update and restart, which I did.
It said it was installing 4 updates.  When rebooted, I went to view update history and found two failed updates and three successful ones for a total of five.
The first one in the list that failed is this one here below.

Then to get more information, I clicked the link shown there for 4048958 to learn more.
That took me to the Microsoft Security Update Guide, where I searched for 4048958 and was provide two links for RT 8.1.
Both links, one for IE11 and one for RT 8.1, go to the KB 4048958 article, which says to get more information, go to the Security Update Guide, which of course takes one back to the KB.
Not very informative loop I guess.
The second update that is on the list above showing as failed, is the one for Adobe to prevent remote code execution.
When I am in Windows Update and double-click the failed entry for Adobe, and then click the link for more information, it takes me to a URL that does not show a KB number and provides a link for more i... Read more

I have IE 9.02, Windows Vista 32 bit version and Flash Player Version 10.3.185.5. In the past I never had a problem installing the latest Adobe Flash Player. This time when I tried to download and install version 10.3.185.7 the installation never completes. I get no error message or anything. It just keeps saying installing the new version but that's as far as it goes. I'm very relucant to uninstall my current verison and trying to install the new version. If that also fails then I won't have Flash Player at all. Anyone else having the same problem with this version of Flash Player. Maybe the best thing is to just keep using version I currently have.

Welcome
May I suggest
You can keep the version that you have if you are satisfied with its performance and the new version does not offer any new security enhancements.
If you wish to try for the new version, make a system restore point then uninstall. If you encounter problems you can easily reinstall by using system restore.

PS, I tested it on a Windows 10 machine, it does not has this issue.

Critical Vulnerability Fixed in Adobe Flash Player
Recently, Adobe released a patch, which fixes multiple vulnerabilities for Adobe Flash Player.

Since Adobe Flash Player is used in enterprise environments and some of the reported vulnerabilities may allow code execution, my Binary Analysis team has spent some time analysing the patch in order to properly understand the fixed vulnerabilities.

In the advisory from Adobe, two vulnerabilities are listed as potential code execution vulnerabilities. For the first vulnerability (CVE-2009-0520), it is stated that a buffer overflow "could potentially allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code". For the second vulnerability (CVE-2009-0519), it is stated that an input validation error "leads to a Denial of Service (DoS); arbitrary code execution has not been demonstrated, but may be possible".

It turns out that at least one of them is quite nasty and does indeed allow remote code execution in a very reliable manner.

Due to the limited publicly available information, we cannot be certain whether the vulnerability analysed is CVE-2009-0520, CVE-2009-0519, or even a third, silently fixed vulnerability.

However, we are certain that the vulnerability is related to how callback functions are handled and may result in data in arbitrary memory being treated as an object. S... Read more

It's 10.2.156.32 and available at the 'usual' URL; http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ which, if you use IE, will get you the Active X version (and a Google toolbar if you don't uncheck it!) which is installed online, but, if you use any other browser, you should get the 'plain' version as an .exe file. Whichever browser you update, don't forget to run the Adobe uninstaller first;http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

I haven't seen a Changelog yet so you may want to hold off updating until it becomes clear whether this is a 'security' upgrade or not (they usually are!).

A:New version of Adobe Flash Player!

Still no sign of a formal Changelog for the latest version but Adobe have now amended their website to refer to it, together with the following not very informative statement 'Adobe recommends that all Flash Player users upgrade to the most recent version of the player through the Player Download Center to take advantage of security updates'

Edit: I did post an URL to a relevant Adobe list of versions which has suddenly ceased to work and now points to an entirely different page! I have no idea how I managed that, apologies to anybody who saw this before the edit and was totally confused by it.

If you like, you can check your Adobe Flash settings and clear all visited websites list history at this link or from the Flash Player icon in the Windows Control Panel.

A:Latest Version of Adobe Flash Player

Most of the plugins are that way. From the sound of it, fully featured 64-bit browsers are still a long ways off.

That's part of the reason you don't see 64-bit versions of Firefox.

This further enhances the point that these software mfg's need to start putting security first when they build their code.

It's completely ridiculous and irresponsible nearly 15 years later after they were all warned about it!

Hi not sure this is the right place to post this problem.

I use Game Ranger to launch my Links2003 Golf Game. For the past month and a half every time I try to enter this site I have to install Adobe Flash Player 11.5. It is already installed in the proper folders (system32) and (SysWOW64) I have contacted Game Ranger but they can not help.

I went to Adobe Site and got the uninstaller for the the Adobe Flash Player. followed all the instructions, Removed it completely, Removed Game Ranger completely. Then reinstalled the flash player 11.5 and checked to make sure it reinstalled into the proper folders. then reinstalled Game Ranger. and it worked fine for almost 5 days. Now I have to reinstall the same flash player every new day I go into Game Ranger.

Can you suggest anything

Thanks in advance

A:Adobe Flash Player repeat installs of same version every day

Try unchecking the auto updater in msconfig, see if it helps.

Hi....

I have been running Secunia Online Software Inspector every other month to make sure I am up to date with all software.

Just ran it and it advised.

The detected version installed on your system is 11.2.202.233 (ActiveX), however, the latest patched version released by the vendor, fixing one or more vulnerabilities, is 11.2.202.235 (ActiveX).
I downloaded it via the Secunia site and ran it. But it did not do anything.

I then went to the Adobe website and downloaded it from there and ran it. But again it did not do anything.

I ran Secunia again to see if the latest version had been detected but it it still advising that the old version 11.2.202.233(ActiveX) is still there.

So, I am stuck and need some help from the experts.

I have run the log as advised, please see below. If you need any other info please let me now.

All of a sudden, I am not able to download Adobe Flash Player (the latest version, of course). In the recent past, it would download within a couple of minutes. Now, it takes as long as 20-30 minutes, acting as if it is going to install. Ultimately, it comes back with an error: "Cannot contact reliable source." Thus, it doesn't install.

I am no longer able to watch videos or look at any site that requires flash player.

Any help would be appreciated, as I am not very good with technical issues.

FYI- I have Windows Vista, 32-bit.

Thanks.

I have win 7, 64 bit computer using IE 11. I am not able to download any version of adobe FP from adobe . When I click "download", I get an initializing bar which either stalls or eventually shows "if download does not start, click here". That brings up a help page which states "When File Download dialog box appears, click Run. Security scan will run automatically." but no download box appears. That is as far as I can get.

Need help.
