Solved: jucheck.exe continuous pop-up wanting to enter

Q: Solved: jucheck.exe continuous pop-up wanting to enter

Every time I start my computer (windows 7) , and get into a website I want to read, an icon flashes on the lower of my page "jucheck.exe" and ask for permission to enter my page. I never respond, rather I close the icon.

Immediately, on the right side of my screen I get a prompt telling me that there is Java update ready to be installed. I do not want or need ("I believe") an update of Java. So I close that prompt also..But "jucheck.exe" keeps insisting relentlessly.

But maybe I do, I don`t know.

This back and forth has been going on for several days and it appears that jucheck.exe will continue. What can you tell me about this..It this a bug? Or is it something I should do...(install the new update?)

As always, I will thank you in advance for any advise you can give me.

Preferred Solution: Solved: jucheck.exe continuous pop-up wanting to enter

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello everyone,

Recently my computer was infected with some malware. I used cCleaner, Ad-aware, spybot sd pro, and malwarebytes antimalware to get rid of it. after removing what i thought to be all of them, i found that i had also picked up the providefeed and thefeedwater browser redirect. i followed some steps from a reply to another poster who was having the same issue. i got super antispyware and modified the scan peramiters. i then ran msconfig and checked the safe mode box under boot.ini. I then found that my computer was unable to boot properly and after showing the windows xp logo and loading bar it would reboot again. I have already tried booting from disk by pressing f2 on startup and setting cd drive to first boot device. i have also tried taking out the coin sized battery that controols the date and saving of some settings for about 60 seconds. i would really rather not loose all my data on my hard drive as much of it is not replacable. My computer is a gateway desktop computer. my OS is windows xp media center edition.

thank you for your help and please reply.

A:Continuous reboot before windows xp loads, unable to enter safe mode.

i followed some steps from a reply to another poster who was having the same issue. You should not be following specific instructions provided to someone else. Those instructions were most likely given under the guidance of a trained staff helper to fix that particular member's problems, NOT YOURS after careful evaluation of the malware involved. Before taking any action, the helper must investigate the nature of the infection and then formulate a fix for the victim. Although your problem may be similar, the solution could be different based on the kind of hardware, software, system requirements, etc. and the presence of other malware. Using someone else's fix instructions could lead to disastrous problems with your operating system. i then ran msconfig and checked the safe mode box under boot.ini. I then found that my computer was unable to boot properlyUsing MSConfig to access (force) safe mode with the /Safe boot option when there is malware on your system could have disastrous results and render your computer unbootable. The Safeboot option modifies the Boot.ini file by adding the /safeboot:minimal argument to your operating systems startup line. Some types of malware can delete or alter the safeboot key in the registry resulting in the inability to reboot fully into safe mode or back to normal mode. When this occurs, you may be locked in a continuous reboot loop afterwards where you cannot get back to MSConfig and undo your selection until the /safeboot argument i... Read more

So, I updated my Java when this jucheck.exe popped up to tell me I needed to update. However, since then - it keeps popping up EVERY time I turn on my computer.

I have the administrator acct on my computer, and there are 2 accounts that don't a have administrator rights. Do I have to go into both of these as well to update this Java to get that window to stop popping up (altho I'm pretty sure I created those accounts AFTER updating Java the first time I received the jucheck.exe pop up box).

Hello all, I've been messing with and Googling this problem all day and am stumped. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My laptop:
Toshiba A105-S4134
MCE 2005
Intel T2400 Duo Core

1. Two days ago I had a glitch - a bunch of browser windows were open and the system just sort of froze up. I ended up doing a hard restart. The PC then took a longer than normal time to boot back up.

2. That made me nervous, so yesterday I made True Image images of both partitions on the HD, that is C: (OS and apps) and D: (data).

3. This morning I decided to run a memory diagnostic disk (I had memtest86+ and Windows Diagnostics CDs on hand). I set boot priority to CD/DVD ROM using Start > All Programs > Toshiba > Utilities > Toshiba Assist > Optimize > Toshiba Hardware Settings > Boot Priority

4. When I restarted the PC, I heard the CD Rom drive spin for a few seconds, but the screen stayed lack and didn't boot. After some time passed with no activity, I hit control/alt/delete a couple of times and XP then booted form the HD.

5. I unsuccessfully tried multiple times with three bootable CDs (that worked on another Toshiba laptop), including the Recovery and Apps disk that came with the laptop. Same result. I re-checked boot order a few times and the setting priority was still as I had set it.

6. I then found that I was unable to get into either safe mode or BIOS, or to get the PC to boot from the CD ROM during startup using any of F12, F8, F2... Read more

This indicates the driver accessed memory beyond the end of its pool allocation.

The driver allocated n bytes of memory and then referenced more than n bytes. The Driver Verifier Special Pool option detected this violation.

But now I read it is vital to STOP viruses.

I found this page to help me,

"The fake is quite convincing and the only way to identify if you have the virus is by reading whom the publisher is. If the publisher is ?unknown?, chances are you?re infected, if the publisher is Sun Microsystems, you?re probably okay."

Well, my version does not say Sun Microsystems - it says:
Publisher: Oracle America, Inc

So am I still ok to let it update?

File Origin: Hard Drive on this computer
Program Location: "C:\windows\system32\jucheck.exe" -scheduled

It is driving me insane! I always say no, but it won't go away. I say no because I have no idea what it is and don't want my brand new computer to get into trouble with viruses, etc. Can you PLEASE tell me what this is, if I need it, and if not how to delete it from popping up all the time?! Yesterday, Jucheck.exe wanted access to my computer. I'm aware Jucheck.exe is supposed to be the Java updater, but I'm aware theres a jucheck.exe trojan and is apparently dangerous if it is located in certain areas. I denied access, but it kept coming up, and it was difficult for me to close it out.
I deleted the file, which was in Appdata\Local\Temp folder, and it stopped asking for access. I scanned with Avira later, which put 7 objects into Quarantine. (And I just installed MalwareBytes Today)
They are all JAVA/Tharra.A Viruses.
Today, Jucheck.exe wanted access yet again, even though I've uninstalled my Java. I deleted the file, again, but I fear it'll come back up as it did last time. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

These programs show up in task manager, and seem to alternate between each other for eating up all the processor power, as well as all the RAM.

MsMpEng has to do with OneCare, which is somehow tied to Windows Defender. I'm not sure how, and haven't been able to figure it out. However, I know that OneCare is not installed on this computer. Something needs to be changed or removed on this.

jucheck is a file that I get conflicting reports on. It's either a java updater, or it's some kind of trojan horse virus. I haven't come across enough of a consensus in my research to determine either way. I'm unwilling to remove it until I'm more sure of what the issue could be.

A:MsMpEng.exe, jucheck.exe

Anytime you come across a suspicious file for which you cannot find any information about, the file has a legitimate name but is not located where it is supposed to be, or you want a second opinion, submit it to jotti's virusscan or virustotal.com. In the "File to upload & scan" box, browse to the location of the suspicious file and submit (upload) it for scanning/analysis.-- Post back with the results of the file analysis.

I have a curious error that I've been unable to get solved.

I have a system that was sharing a Brother HL-5140 printer connected to another machine on the network, all was well. I have moved the machine into the position of the primary machine, and now the printer is directly connected to it on the LPT1 parallel port. I changed the port assignment and got the printer working, even shared it with other machines with no issue. However, now the printer is detected as new hardware every boot, but it always finishes with an error. The environment is XP-Pro SP2, all service patches applied. The error dialog that I get:

An error occurred during the installation of the device.

The specified port is unknown.

Click Finish to close the wizard.

I've uninstalled the printer and re-installed, and even went so far as to uninstall, scrub everything I could find in the registry for the Brother printer, and re-install the printer.

The printer still works fine, but I can't get rid of the stinkin' startup error!

Does anyone have an insight how to convince XP that the printer doesn't need installation? I am guessing it is getting confused about the exact characteristics of the parallel port it's connected to. Is there perhaps a way to disable PnP detection on just the parallel port?

Any insights would be appreciated.

Hi. I currently have an Abit SG-95 motherboard. The motherboard does DDR2 RAM up to 667mhz and 800 FSB. I have 2GB of (667mhz) RAM with an Intel Pentium D 940 (3.2ghz, 800 FSB).

I currently have a Radeon X800. But I'm wanting to get a Nvidia 8800GT. My question is, do you think it will be worth getting this card for my motherboard? I notice that PCI express 2.0 has double the bandwidth of the original PCI express. I know that PCI-E 2.0 is backward compatible with original, but will I get the performance benefit from this card, or should I just get a motherboard that does PCI-E 2.0?

A:Solved: Wanting advice on a video card

The performance drop with 1.1(or 1.0) vs 2.0 only comes noticable with cards better than the GTX260 and Radeon 4870 or so... So don't get a new mobo just yet, only when you plan on upgarding the RAM and CPU too.

at startup I get a prompt to start jucheck.exe. I searched the forums here and found a post that said if it's in the Java folder it's ok. I find 2 instances of it in non-Java folders on my nearly brand new PC. These are the locations:

I also see 2 others in:

c:\program files\java\jre6\bin
c:\program files (x86)\java\jre6\bin

they all have the date 3/9/10

should I run anything to check my HD?

A:jucheck.exe NOT in Java folder

Please click here to download and install version 2.0.2 of the HijackThis Installer.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

I'm running a Windows Vista. The virus started two weeks ago with a jucheck.exe file asking for my permission to allow it to run. I accidentally clicked allow. It stopped bothering me for a while so I thought it was okay. But it came back later and it wouldn't go away again. Now I can't open any executables; opening them will result in an "Open With" prompt as if Windows does not know what program to run the file with. This is even happening with Firefox, Google Chrome, AIM, etc. Thanks to anyone that can help me with this problem.

Well, on my last restart, I've been getting some jucheck.exe errors and my firefox seems to be infected among other slow downs. I did some research and apparently this is indeed a virus.

EDIT: I now believe it isn't jucheck because I'm getting errors for other things and random popups.

EDIT: When I restart my PC, after I log in to my profile, the command prompt window keeps popping up and closing about 50 or so times before it starts. It goes to quick to see what exactly it is doing.

Hey everybody

Currently I have a HP Photosmart M22 camera, that I got for Christmas a couple of years ago. It's a decent camera, that takes some good photos. I don't like that it only has a digital zoom on it (no optical zoom), as well as the slide on the front that turns it on and off.

I wanted to get a small size camera, one that can fit somewhat easily in my pocket, that (I know this sounds crazy) has a button to turn it on and off. The Photosmart I have right now has a slide thing that turns it on and off, and it gets annoying having to worry with that.

I want one that has some good features, but mainly just a solid camera to take some photos with of friends and events. I took a look at the Canon PowerShot SD800 IS, and it looks good. I was wondering if there was a camera similar to this one, that is just a little cheaper. Maybe in the $100 - $200 range in price.

Thanks for any suggestions

I have a iMac and a PC and I had to reformat my PC and I set up the network connection but now every few minutes I get a wireless network error message, "one or more wireless network are available, to see the list.".
I check preferred network and my network is listed as number one. I reset my router and the tech support change the router channel to 5 to see if that helps.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. BTW, I did ipconfig, ping and did the release and renew to see if that will help.

It connects , then it refreshes itself and it starts to look for a network.

Hello, I recently came across a file named "jucheck.exe" in my temp folder. The file attempted to run several times with an unknown publisher. I searched for "jucheck.exe" and found two files of different sizes, one associated with java and the one in temp. Additionally, A file named "tmph2762741635635972588.tmp" is the same size as the fake jucheck.exe and was created at the same time. I ran malwarebytes but the program did not detect any viruses. Please note that these fixes are not instantaneous. Most infections require more than one round to properly eradicate.

Please stay with me until given the 'all clear' even if symptoms seemingly abate.

Kindly follow my instructions and please do no fixing on your own or running of scanners unless requested by a helper.

Over the past few months, i've been having problems browsing (usually i can fix this, but i don't think the fixes are permanent). My modem and router are working perfectly, and every other internet-using program works fine. Every other computer in the house can browse the web fine.

Usually what happens is that the connection resets or that the page doesn't load properly. Today, i began getting rerouted to a page that says "Welcome to nginx!" (i seem to have temporarily solved the latter one by clearning my Firefox cache).

I've run Spybot, Ad-Aware, Avast, Eset online check, another online check, Super Anti-spyware, and Microsoft Security Essentials.

In the past, i had a Win32 trojan. The source of that trojan was "jucheck.exe". I have a jucheck.exe by Unknown Publisher which keeps trying to download data, despite my Java being up-to-date.

Recently, I allowed Sun MicroSystems (first time ever) to make a Java update change to my PC as well as allowing future permission requests. This came about as a by-result from running ComboFix as advised due to another more pressing issue.
Just now, my control panel asked my permission to allow jucheck.exe to make changes to my PC's hard drive with a new version of Java which is ready to be installed.
Verified publisher: Oracle America, Inc.
File origin: hard drive on my PC.
It's the first time I've been asked about Java where Sun MicroSystems isn't the named publisher.
I've search engine'd jucheck and Oracle America and have come up with everything from trojan to valid.
General/Details/Certification Paths can be provided if needs be.
Pls advise.

It's part of the NVIDA Firewall on ASUS MB. Be nice if it was named NVIDIA Network Access Manager or NVIDIA Firewall.

I don't have an ASUS, or that CLSID on my system, but did some googling and I found this http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=23134 that says the Name is app_filter that you need to edit.

It says the CLSID won't match the AppID, but I'd check and see if it's listed:
In the component services window, widen it out, then click on View and choose Detail. This should list the Application ID column.
Search for {BC866CF2-5486-41F7-B46B-9AA49CF3EBB1} (double check that, I typed it by hand).

In the Registry Editor, check the {BC866CF2-5486-41F7-B46B-9AA49CF3EBB1} key for an AppID value and look for that in component services. Also you could check the ProgID key (and the others as well) to see if you can spot the name there.

So every time I boot my computer, Windows tries to install the same update (I've checked and it is in fact the same). It completes the installation with no errors, but when the computer turns back on, it starts all over again. I have tried a lot of remedies for this including that of the Microsoft help service page. But the the computer still keeps updating.

Thanks in advance for the help!
