I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Dear support team, I'm using the HP ENVY 17 laptop for personal purposes.I was going to buy PS4 pro recently, and just wonder since this laptop has a hdmi port so why not I should physically connect ps4 to this laptop as a monitor using HDMI cable. I saw a number of internet articles that say it is possible to use a normal computer monitor as like a TV for PS4. would it be also possible to do that on my laptop?

Hi,No you cannot. The HDMI port is a HDMI-out port only.RegardsVisruth

Hi All: recently bought HP Envy 750-197c with dual HDMI, along with LG LED Monitor 24m47. For the life of me, I cannot get the computer to dispaly when connected via HDMI. I've tried different HDMI cords, connected other peripherals via HDMI to the monitor without any issues, and even tried connecting the computer to 2 different TVs via HDMI but nothing. Does anyone have any idea why I cannot get my computer to dispaly via HDMI on my monitor? Any help at this point would be great. Running Windows 10.

A:Envy 750-197c won't connect via HDMI

Hi there @johnjpas34,Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that you are having an issue with getting a display connected with HDMI to come up. I am happy to help with this. First, check out this: HP Desktop PCs - Connecting Monitors and TVs to Your PC (Windows 10, 8). Then be sure you have the drivers for the display installed. If there are not drivers specific to Windows 10, then try installing the older drivers using compatibility mode in Windows 10/ Please let me know how that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

You will also need to ensure that the specific DVI connector fits the pin configuration of the adapter. I hope this helps! Best Regards

Hello,So i use a projector (Epson SB03) to watch movies (I use my HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC  for this) I use a HDMI adaptor to get a signal to the projector, and about a week ago it stopped connecting. The thing is, it works on my second laptop, so it can't be the projector; either the cable or the HDMI port on the pavillion. I want to see if anyone knows any fixes before i go to buy new cables and adapters etc. any help would be apreciated.thanks~Teje

Hi TejeIf you roll back the AMD Display Adapter driver to the previous version the HDMI output will work again. That's what I discovered when I could not access my Epson Projector. There must be a glitch in the new driver which was issued by AMD in March 2016. CheersWAR1

I don't want to try without having some information first. The MHL HDMI port is for smartphones and streaming sticks. I have a HP Stream 11 Notebook and I'm wondering if I can safely use the MHL HDMI port for streaming live video feeds and video files. The MHL HDMI port does provide power to connected smartphones, but streaming sticks (like the Roku Streaming Stick) are powered by adapter. I believe that it should be alright, but I'm wondering if there has been any actual testing of this configuration.

A problem has recently developed with my Envy notebook.   About 2 weeks ago my entire wireless network began slowing down when on it.   Noticeable on all devices.    When my provider came out, checked and tweaked some issues it appeared to be ok.   I went on with my daughers HP laptop and was drawing 20-24 mbps all over the house. When I reconnected mine to the system I was only pulling 6, 3, 5, up and down.   It doesn't start right away but after a few minutes.   So I put my duaghers right next ot mine and low and behold, when I ran her's it pulled 3 - 6 also.   So I turned my wi-fi off and hers' popped right back up.   I have also tried this with an old XP mini, my i-pads etc.   As soon as mine gets on the network the speed crashes.    This also happens with no one else home and no other devies conncted. I have downloaded the latest up to date Intel driver for this network adapter and it hasn't changed anything. Any ideas?

Bill_Ving Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about wireless networking poor performance and wanted to help. My immediate guess is that you might have mixed-mode networking going on.  This happens when you have two different PCs networking in two different modes -- one using "G", the other using "N".  The wireless router (or access point) can optimize performance for either mode, but not for both.  So, the "G" mode drags down the performance of the "N" mode PC, but even worse, with the router set for mixed modes, it performs more slowly than with either PC connected by itself. Here are some other troubleshooting steps you can try: HP PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 8) | HP® Customer SupportGood Luck========================================================================I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor do I represent, HP.---------------------------------------------------------------Please click "Accept As Solution" on the post that solves your issue to help others find the solution. Please click the Thumbs-Up symbol on the left of the Reply button to say thanks fopr my help.========================================================================

The notebook seems to have a "bubble" on the keyboard where it's higher than the rest of the keyboard. Obviously it's impacting the entire notebook since it's no longer sitting level. I'm concerned it's going to impact the performance of the keyboard and the fact that it's not even and "rocks" when I'm typing is driving me crazy.   Can someone please direct me on how this can be repaired. Hi,

Sounds complicated (To me anyway)

I'm running Windows 7 64bit with 2 video cards (NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT and NVIDIA GeForce GT 240) as I use 3 monitors.

My TV is located where it is not possible to run a cable to it from the PC, It is however beside a CAT5 box that is connected to a CAT5 box beside my PC.

I use a TP-LINK TL-MR3420 router for my PC and wireless access upstairs.
It is connected to a Belkin Share wireless router set up purely as an access point downstairs via the 2 cat boxes mentioned earlier for wireless access and a wired connection to my xBox.

I want to use one of the spare video card ports to connect to my HDTV
I have a HDMI output on the NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT and a DVI output on the NVIDIA GeForce GT 240 that are not in use.

I think HDMI is the way to go as I believe I can use a S/PDIF cable to connect my motherboard to my NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT and so I will have audio as well as visual.

My question is:
Can I use a HDMI to CAT5 converter, connect a HDMI cable to the video card output, connect one end of a CAT5 cable to that, the other end to my TP-LINK TL-MR3420 router (Which is connected to my Belkin Share wireless router)
Take a CAT5 to HDMI converter and run a HDMI cable from my Belkin Share wireless router to my HDTV?
Is it possible to do this via a router at all?

Any help is much appreciated ..

A:Connect PC to HDTV via HDMI -> CAT5 -> Router -> Access Point -> CAT5 -> HDMI -> TV

Hi and welcome to TSG.

The HDMI to CAT5 converter most likely sends raw high speed serial video through all four twisted pairs of wires in the CAT5 cable rather than converting the video data to Ethernet compatible data packets. Any Ethernet router or switch would not know what hit it.

I have an ASUS G75 notebook that I'd like to connect to an LCD TV via HDMI. A few questions:

Does my notebook need to be turned off when I connect the HDMI cable to the tv or is it ok to plug it in while the notebook is turned on?

The notebook's screen res is 1600x900 max, the tv is 1920x1080. (The video card is an nVidia 660m with 2gb ram.) It will be ok to run the notebook at its native 1600x900 while running the tv at its native 1920x1080, correct?

Anything else special I should know about connecting my notebook to a tv?

Thanks much!

A:Notebook HDMI to LCD TV?

Yes, HDMI is "hot pluggable" meaning you can plug it in while either or both devices are powered.

The video will be handled by the TV and the resolution will be resolved. I regularly attach my phone with it's tiny screen to my TV via HDMI to watch video from Netflix and such without issue.

Hi, I just got a new HP Envy x 360 in July 2016 and a new HP monitor 27es Display in mid-August.  It was connecting to the monitor by using HDMI fine till last week.  From a week ago (around Labor day), it stopped recognizing the monitor.I have an old HP laptop, and it is fine connecting to the the monitor by VGA.  So, it is not the monitor's issue.I remember I did the recommended HP update around the same time.  I am suspecting that update caused the issue with HDMI.  Can anyone help?  Thanks.

I recently bought an HP ENVY 750se Desktop PC that has what I believe to be 2 HDMI in ports that do not seem to be working and are not displayed in the 'devices list' in Device Manager. There is also an HDMI out port that is working just fine. I was attempting to connect a DSLR camera to the through the HDMI in ports to capture live feeds. Also, I just checked the product details from the order and those HDMI in ports are not listed there. Yet, they're on the PC in an extension slot. Any help with this is appreciated. Thanks.

Does the HDMI output on this laptop support full 4K @ 60hz (my understanding is that this requires HDMI v 2.0).  I want to be able to add a secondary Monitor running at full 4K @ 60hz resolution. This is the latest version of this laptop using i7 cpu / with laptop display running at 4K - 60hz (UHD)"15.6" diagonal UHD IPS UWVA anti-glare WLED-backlit (3840 x 2160) Touchscreen (for IR Camera) " Looking at an HDMI technical site I see that what I want would require HDMI 2.0b (or the latest 2.1) spec "HDMI 2.0b Specification is backwards compatible with earlier versions of the HDMI specification. A:HP ENVY Laptop - 15t touch: is HDMI v. 2.0 (UHD @ 60hz)

Hi, Firstly what is your Envy laptop 15t touch ? And the answer is no it does not support 4K natively thru HDMI port. You can connect it to a 4K monitor/TV and TV will do the rest for you. I will test few Spectre x360 machines (13" and 15") which have 4K screens already using HDMI 2.0a cable connect to a 65" Panasonic TV tomorrow (waiting from my friends to come over with their 13" machines and I will use my loan 15" machine). Regards.

Hello, Basically the battery isn't working. For the last week or so, if my laptop isn't plugged in or if the adapter comes out for even a second, it dies. I've attempted taking out and waiting and putting it back in and resarteing etc, but all it's done is changed from 'battery not detected' to 'plugged in, not charging.' Ive opened HP assistant, tried the battery check and it isn't even recognising the battery. I've installed the latest version of battery check and BIOS as well. I did buy the laptop in 2013 so I'm assuming I need a new battery? is there anything else I can try? If not could anyone recommend or provide a link to the right battery to purchase? I've had trouble throughout with it not charging for some reason, but not to this extent. Thanks in advance.
