I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello AIRobot & Welcome to SevenForums!

Does these freezes appear when doing something specific on your machine?
Have you updated your drivers lately?

Try going to cmd (press start-orb and search 'cmd') and type this message and notice any outdated drivers:

Okay, so about a week ago, my brother downloaded an .exe file from a some website, and when he loaded it
the the black command prompt window came up. He closed it quickly, but ever since I've been getting the warnings.
I ran a zonealarm scan and It found a few viruses and spyware. I quarantined or deleted them, but I was still getting
these fake windows security spyware pop ups in my task tray and as regular windows. Also, when I restart my computer, Windows takes really
long to load up, and it's never done that before. I tried to run the Deckard's System Scanner but it kept closing in the middle of scanning.

I've ran all the above scans over and over but can't get rid of it.
I also can't install anything like SuperAntispyware or the CleanUp-Utility to remove and reinstall it. For both I get the message

My Windows 7 computer is agonizingly slow at startup generating many errors and then culminates with service startup failures because the system "did not respond... in a timely fashion".

What might be causing this?

The system is up-to-date; anti-virus software reports no issues; hardware tests OK.

Log attached.

A:Repeated often: The following fatal alert was received: 47.

Could be system corruption causing it. SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker run it up to three times to fix all issues. I'll see if I can find some more info in the meantime.

http://eventid.net/display.asp?phase...27&source=Dhcp could be antivirus related... Try uninstalling and re-installing. Are you using MSE or another antivirus?

Your EVENT ID: 7000 error is related to SSDP Discovery. See http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...e-d132aae03e82 See the quote below.
"do this....control panel, admin tools, services, right click "ssdp discovery" go to properties and set to auto then goto "upnp device host" and do the same"

Since SSDP Discovery is related to Universal Plug and Play devices on your home network, my guess is this is an antivirus issue or similar issue. Try going through the steps to Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Hi Anyone,

I'm posting this here instead of anywhere else because I think that it has more to do with XP (which I'm using) then anything else.

I was recently trying to open QuickTime to see if there was any updates for it when this Error kept occurring:

"Buffer Over Run - Corrupted Internal State, the program had to be terminated".

Does anyone know what this is and how to correct it?

I've tried to uninstall the program through "Add & Remove" but an error occurs there as well and after running through the uninstall it abandons the attempt.

I also find that it will not remove manually either. Certain files are not allowed to be removed.

So, does anyone know what to do in this situation?

I'd appreciate any help here. Thanks.

John

A:Buffer Over Run - Corrupted Internal State?

It's a QT error, you need to remove QT and reinstall/update (IMO).

I myself would use jv16 PowerTools to remove it. If you decide to try that, please read the instructions before attempting to use.

Has anyone who keeps W2000 uptodate noticed a recurring problem seemingly beginning to build of late when running either Explorer or Internet Explorer? I cannot be sure that it happens exclusively when I am conducting a search (either for a file on my system or using a search engine online), but it could well be the common denominator. A dialogue box tells me that Explorer has generated an error and will be shut down by Windows after an error log has been written. After Explorer is shut down, the desktop wallpaper is absent until Windows sorts out the desktop. Also a couple of icons are always missing from the right-hand side of my task bar (Norton, yet when I look its various tasks are still running; and TClock, which I have to restart). I search for any recently generated or modiefied error file without luck, hence asking here.
Thanks in anticipation.

A:Explorer has generated an error!

Greetings

Your desktop is simply the first instance of an explorer process. When you click on the explorer.exe, it checks to see if it is the first instance, and if it is not, it opens up the NT Explorer.

Now, on occasion, the explorer process stops. When this happens, there is a second process which is still running that checks to make sure that the explorer process is running. If this second process detects that the explorer service is not running, it starts it up (this is why your wallpaper disappears and then re-appears).

Unfortunately, the icons in your System Tray (the area next to your clock on the right hand side of your taskbar) are not restored, as they are actually put in there AFTER the desktop explorer process had been started. If you log off and log back on again, they will reappear.

Unfortunately, we can not help you with the reason for the explorer errors, without the full text of the error message, and any error messages in the Event Viewer (The event Viewer can be found in the Control Panel in the Administrative Tools section).

Cheers

Every time I click on BURN button to burn downloaded AVI video I get the error message "AVI2MPG has generated errors and will be closed by windows." and the program closes.
I contacted Cucusoft and they told me to do the following:

Please run it , open your video file then click the "clear all supported video codecs" and "clear all supported audio codecs", then exit it and restart your pc.

I did that and it did nothing to solve the problem.

Hi, this is becoming awfully frustrating for me as i cant figure out what has hapened, i use cucusoft to convert avi files and have done so for months. I seem to get a "cucusoft has generated an error and needs to close" message everytime a file is half way through conversion. It happened before and i reset my comp to factory settings which was the only solution i could come up with. This worked fine but a few months down the line it has happened again, this time i have a lot of stored files that i cant do with deleting and starting from scratch, any ideas on how i could rectify this, any help would be much appreciated!

A:Cucusoft has generated an error!

Hiya

Have you tried reinstalling the program? It may be a corrup file in the program.

Also, lets see what you have running at the time of using it:

Go to Run and type MSINFO32
On the left choose Software Enviroment, then Startup Programs. Copy/paste the list here

Hi Guys

On the old forum I posted:

I search for any recently generated or modified error file without luck, hence asking here.
Thanks in anticipation.
Tom

TO WHICH REUEL responded:

Unfortunately, the icons in you... Read more

I'm experiencing some strange error with my Windows 2000 Pro system:

When I try to install some older programs (like around 99-2000 era), it shows me this error: "_INS5576._MP has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program." It's prevented me from installing Septerra Core, Arx Fatalis, and Slave Zero, and Vampire: Redemption. It's starting to get annoying. Any suggestions?

Oh yes, I've tried installing them from CD-ROM, and downloading (or making) the ISO to install on a virtual drive. Both give me the same error. Any ideas?

Hello everyone,

Having an issue that has been worrying me for quite some time now and I am hoping to get it solved with some help from you wonderful people.

To outline the issue:

This is a random blue screen that happens at anytime. It is not extremely often, but happens at least once weekly. When I am on the computer and it happens, the computer slows down until a point at which it becomes almost totally unresponsive... the mouse cursor still moves but nothing can be clicked on, keyboard shortcuts do not do anything etc. It will hang there until it goes to the bluescreen.

The most common occurrence of the bluescreen is when I leave the PC idle - running absolutely no foreground programs, come back to blue screen.

About the error message:
It is a STOP error, 0x00000007A.

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR
The blue screen hangs at "initializing disk for crash dump." It does not go past this stage, upon reset there is no crash dump created. I have properly configured my PC as per this tutorial to create minidumps upon crashes but still nothing is created Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD

I am not overclocking anything, and this problem is new (PC has never BSOD'd in this fashion, and has created minidumps perfectly fine in the past).

I have run the SF diagnostic tool and the output is attached in a compressed .rar. Hopefully this is still of use without any minidump....

My pc specs have been filled out in my profile.

Thank you
Alabas

Hi, just as the title says, i dont have a virus, i've ran panda active scan and malware bytes, The only things installed in the last moth are the Doctor Who game (stop laughing) and the windows live messenger wave 4 beta. I've uninstalled both but the problem persists.

It only started suddenly one morning, about 2 weeks ago. msn was crashing, and firefox too then windows itself became unresponsive, even the task manager wouldnt start forcing me to press and hold the power button. now the laptop wont turn off or restart using the start menu and is constantly generating hundreds of megabytes of error reports (4gb at last count) which is filling my hard drive up and causing a huge amount of fragmentation on the drive.

Windows Update doesnt download the updates either, constantly stuck at 0%

I am running windows vista home basic 32bit on a laptop. Please help me to solve this mystery without formatting my laptop and losing everything and the hassel of backing everything up and restoring it.

Hi,

Does the machine work correctly in safe mode? To check this, power on the computer and hit the F8 key before windows boots. You should get a menu pop-up with an option for 'Safe mode' and also 'safe mode with networking'. Try each of these. Also what are the error messages in the event log?

You could also try booting from your Windows C.D, if you have one, and selecting the option 'System Restore'. This will allow you to restore your system files to a time when hopefully you were error free.

Every time I log onto my computer, I enter my password and it looks like its loading to the desktop. Then it prompts me to type it in again for some reason - and the second time it actually does load the desktop.

This just started happening today.

The link for microsoft help is useless.

The last things I did were...
-set a BIOS supervisor and user password (so you must enter a password to boot the machine and also to enter BIOS setup to make changes)
- Made several changes to "local security policy" (under control panel, administrative tools, local security policy)

I don't see why changing security policy would affect anything. Basically the changes I made were just to make the computer a bit more secure.

Hi,I have fundamentally the same problem as Laura H from this thread http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic342716.html.I've had problems with these fake antivirus programs before and they really did a number on my laptop. I treated the problem using various tools mostly malware bytes and deleting some suspect files.Been working fine for the most part however today out out of nowhere I was attacked by malware doctor.
