Issues with warranty registration and warranty Upgrade. No responses from Back To School team

Q: Issues with warranty registration and warranty Upgrade. No responses from Back To School team

I bought a Lenov Ideapad 510 15IKB on 14th April 2017. Now I'm facing 2 issues with the warranty registration and warranty upgrade: Issue#1On April 16th I registered the base warranty of my product as it should start from the purchase date of my product. After few email conversations for purchase proof, finally on 3rd May, I received email confirming the base warranty registration of my product. It was starting from 14th April 2017 and ending on 13th April 2018. I checked the same on lenovo website. But few days back when I again checked the warranty status, it was restored to factory warranty (15 Oct 2016 - 13 nov 2017). I don't know why this happened and how this happened. When I contacted lenovo, they said that warranty is updated in their database but how can I beleive when I can't see this on warranty lookup section of the Lenovo official website. I have also attached the screen shot of warranty lookup page as of today (22 June 2017). Issue#2I registered for 2 year warranty extension under Back To School offer (Ticket Number - ADP-BTS-025399) on www.buyalenovo.com and made a payment of INR 999/- on 6th May 2017. On 10th May, i received an email confirming the receipt of payment and in the same email, it was mentioned that warranty certificate will be mailed to me within 7 bussiness day, but till the date I've not received any warranty certificate, I've sent so many emails in last one week, but I didn't receive any reply to any email. I tried to reach the ADP team on provided number (080 - 39534757) following the IVRS instructions, selected option#2 and then every time there is only one response "All of our executives are busy on another call, Please hold the line or try after some time". I contacted lenovo help line 1800 3000 9992 for the same, but they provided me another number 080 - 65475738. I tried to call this number, but every time I got the response "dialed number is switched off, try again later". These are the two cases which disppointed me very badly with the Lenovo customer services. For sure, in future I'm not gonna to buy any Lenovo product, nor I'll be recommending anyone to go for Lenovo.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello Seven Forum,
Had a PC built last year and is still under warranty. Need to take back as their is Hardware problems. Found this out doing a Memory Diagnostic Test. The question I wish to ask is that I have 2 internal hardrives and 1 external drive. 1xSSD & 1X mechanical HD inside. I have backedup all my documents, music and photos on the external HD but what else do I need to do as I am not comfortable handing over my PC with other stuff such as personal contacts and emails. Hope someone can help.

A:Need to take back PC (still under warranty)

Are you worried about actually losing something or are you worried about someone snooping into your contacts and emails when you'd rather they didn't?

Your email and contacts are likely on your C drive. You could back them up as well. Also bookmarks. Where that stuff is depends on what browser and email you use.

You could actually remove any non-operating system drives if necessary---unless that might somehow cause a warranty issue.

I can understand your reluctance. I'd probably remove hard drives when possible, even if I had the stuff backed up.

I have a Dell Inspiron 5567 laptop which is still in warranty. a few days ago I saw some dirt in the cooling hole so I was thinking of opening and cleaning it but if I open the back lid to clean it will become out of warranty?

A:what if i open the back lid of laptop? warranty void?

The act of disassembling a laptop does not void the purchased warranty. In fact, the online Service Manual walks you through removing the base cover. But, anything you break while disassembling a laptop is not covered. So if you crack the back cover, strip a screw hole, lose a screw, break some internal components, etc. these would not be covered. The only time these would be covered by the warranty would be if Dell Technical Support via phone, chat, or email told you to disassemble the laptop.

I'm looking to buy a new warranty for my laptop. I own an HP Omen that was sent to me on Jan 30, 2015 after my previous laptop, a pavilion, stopped working and was replaced via the warranty on that computer. The extra year of warranty that comes with a replacement laptop expired on Jan 30, 2016. My question is, if I were to purchase a warranty for this computer, what would the start date be? Would it be Jan 30, 2015, the date I received this computer? Or would it reset all the way back to when I purchased the pavilion, in which case, it would be totally useless and would have already expried.

I purchused my XPS 15 from England in April 2016. Lat January some problems started with laptop and I was instructed to do warranty transfer. I did it in February, but never received the answer from DELL!!
I took it to local agent, and they told me to leave the laptop with them (to diagnose the problem) and in the mean time to try to do warranty transfer again. I did warranty transfer again in April, but again, never received the confirmation from DELL!!!
Finally my local agent received emal from DELL (upon requesting the spare parts), to tell them that my lap top has warranty expired on 28th of April, and they can't send spare parts, although I left my laptop for service before the warranty expired!!!
I also tried to phone directly to DELL, but no help, as the people on line are very unhelpfull, and immediatelly cut the line, without explanation.
Anybody here in the forum, might know how to tuckle this issue???
It looks that something didn't function properly in the DELL system for warranty transfer and support, and I believe somebody should help, as it can ruin the company's reputation!!!

Hi, My question is mainly adressed to Lenovo staff, but feel free to answer if you're certain of what you say. Does adding RAM or SSD M.2 may void the warranty of one year offered by Lenovo ? Since we are obliged to completely open the laptop to add these modules, I want to be sure not to cancel the warranty before doing it. Of course, considering the fact that nothing should be damaged following the operation. Thanks a lot!

A:Y700 upgrade & warranty

Hi Baribo,

Welcome to the Lenovo community!

On most systems, NO it will not void the warranty unless damage is caused to the system by the SSD or when installing it into the system. On some systems yes it may void the warranty. The SSD will not be covered by the warranty in both cases unless it is purchased as an authorised option from Lenovo.

Customer Replaceable Units are parts that can be replaced by customers, and which would not cause warranty to be voided.

However, you are advised to be careful when carrying out such work; if you are unsure about how to replace or add an additional RAM, as in the scenario above, it is recommended that you get someone who is experienced in doing so to carry out the work.

Also, please check and confirm that the part you are attempting to change or modify is a CRU so that your warranty will not be voided.  Components which are considered to be CRU can be found in your system's Hardware Maintenance Manual.

Let us know how you get on.
Regards,
Shashi

Good evening everyone,Yesterday I just bought a new laptop 13'' Hp Pavillion x360 model 13-u104nl.I am very pleased with the features and performance of this product. The only flaw that I noticed is the lack of a valid SSD drive; there is a classic obsolete mechanical WD drive 1 TB.Now, my idea would be to replace the mechanical hard drive inside with a SSD (like Samsung 850 evo) with a modest capacity of only 250 GB, but I noticed the lack of the classic inferior doors for the "user replaceable part". My model requires a bit of disassembly before I can access the hard drive and replace it.My question is, according to your opinion, mounting a new ssd, following all the instructions in the service manual, will void my warranty? There are any warranty seals that will be violated by opening the laptop? In any case, I will keep the original drive in a safe place, and I will put it back into the PC if I have to send it to repair.Any suggestion is very appreciated. Thank you in advice

HelloI have a relatively new machine (< 6 months old) which I seem to be having more than teething issues with.  Every time I try to contact support online, I have to dispute the lack of warranty - which is incorrect.  I have been told by support that my machine is in warranty and its ok as it does show as such on the HP end of the system.  However, it means that I can not raise a case online - and due to the nature of my work, find it awkward to find time in HP's active support hours.  1.  How can I get this fixed? 2.  I have bought (2) ravpower power banks to use with the machine when I am travelling.  I cannot get these to workj with the laptop, although I do believe its a HP issue not ravpower (who have been very responsive, yet cannot fix it).  Likewise, I have bought type-c usb connectors from a reputable company, which also do not work.  I had heard that a bios fix might sort both of these, but to no avail.  Without getting any help from HP support (see problem 1), does anyone have any suggestions? Many thanks

My laptop battery has been acting up for a while now.  I have run more than one energy report, uninstalled several programs that, (I think,) were eating my battery life, run a test through start up to find out more about my battery's health, calibrated my battery per the results of that test, even switched my very old printer for a much newer one, just in case that might be one of the issues.  I needed a new printer anyway.  My battery still dies too quickly.  I have only had this computer for about three or four years, I think, and the battery is not old enough to be dying as soon as it seems to have started.  Anyone with any advice on the matter? My computer is a Compaq Presario CQ56 Notebook PC Serial Number CNF045192K Product Number XG809UA#ABA I would love to get remote assistance through HP Support Assistant, but my warranty is expired, which I think is why so many of the functions supposedly available to me don't seem to be available at all.  Any help with how to renew my warranty is also greatly appreciated.

A:Battery issues and Warranty

CQ56-115DX is the model.  The Service Manual was printed in 2010 so the computer is at least 5 years old. Is the battery newer than that? There is no warranty extension available on a laptop of that age. You can buy extended warranties but must be purchased within 3 or 6 months of original warranty expiration which was in 2012 or 2013.  Is the battery any newer than the laptop? Average battery life is about 2.5 years and a 4 year old battery is an old battery.

You can extend a warranty at any time while it's in force. So I don't see why you wouldn't be able to upgrade a warranty during that same period. I would call Lenovo and ask them how to proceed to get on-site.

A:Product invalid and Warranty Issues.

Demi1 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! The product warranties are intially configure to last for one-year from the data of manufacture -- but they might sit in a warehouse or on a shelf for months before actually being used. That's why it's critical to REGISTER the PC as soon as you start using it -- as that resets the warranty end date. My guess is you did not do that.Sorry, but this is just a community self-help forum staffed by volunteers. HP maintains no official presence here and we are not authorized to deal with warranty issues. For these issues, you will need to contact HP Customer Support directly. If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.htmlNOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while! If you have trouble finding a phone number, then try: 1 (800) 474-6836Good Luck

When turned laptop on after return from HP with new mobo replaced under warranty screen locked up after 5 - 10 mins of operation. Held power button down to turn off. When restarted power button glowed but no other activity. Held windows + B keys then pressed power button (from previous talks with HP help line) and light on caps lock button flashes slowly 3 times and repeats every 3 to 4 seconds. Further info from HP website held down windows + B then then pressed power button and continued to hold Windows + B until HP BIOS Update screen came on. After BIOS recoverd/updated laptop booted up into windows 10. All ok for few minutes then received BSOD message. Rebooted BIOS as above then got another BSOD. Sometimes laptop would restart sometimes have had to go through BIOS Update.I have managed to check all drivers, all current apart from Nvidia which has been updated but still having issues. Laptop now stuck in HP BIOS Update screen:- Verifying new BIOS Image, Block 1118 / 2048, Progress 54%.BSOD messages:- Driver IRQL Not Less or Equal.  What failed ACPI.sysDriver Overran Stack BufferAttempted Write to Readonly MemoryPage Fault in non Paged Area.Does anyone know if this could conceivably be a software issue or should I be contacting HP on Monday to request another warranty repairThanks
