A Very Cool Envelope Printer Program!

Q: A Very Cool Envelope Printer Program!

Hey Guys,

If you hate having to go to MS Word and open it up just to print envelopes, or if you use a MS Office/Word alternative that doesn't have envelope printing, this is a very good envelope printer program from Major Geeks! The video is good as well!

Preferred Solution: A Very Cool Envelope Printer Program!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

We have a customer that would like to purchase a printer (preferably HP) that would be used ONLY for envelopes and labels. The concern we had with using a laser printer is that it might heat up so much that it might cause problems with the glue on label paper? I?m not sure if that?s an issue or not. Any recommendations?

A:Dedicated envelope and label printer

Not a problem. Just use those with a feeder parallel to the desk that pulls the envelope or label page throuh... rather than those that feed downward where the paper and envelopes are perpendicular to the desk. We have HP lasers widely distributed just for this purpose. We have great luck with older HP's as well such as the LJ 4L, LJ4M, and so on. I can post a number of HP brands to avoid... such as the multifunction printers, as well as the 1100, 1200, series.
Also fine are the Konica Minoltas, Samsung, and Fujitsu...
You will always have a jammed envelope now and then, but the problems of overheating have never been an issue.
If the printing is high volume, do a search at the HP website in printer support for the "Print to Mail" accessories... If they have a decent budget, the printers that use these accessories are the ones to get.

I've had Dazzle Envelope Manager since 2000. Do you believe it? :-) And it still works on my Asus M32B PC with Windows 8.1, but is starting to get a little flaky around the edges.

I don't even have an install disk. I think I bought it for around $20 at the time, and it was a download.

Since then, they stopped selling it for home / home office use, and went big time with a big company version only. ( As in $500+ dollars? ) But I only print one envelope at a time, to mail my SOHO clients, so I don't use mailing lists and need all that.

The reason I still need it, and haven't found a replacement, is that, when I put in an address and hit Ctrl-Z, it goes to some site called www.dial-a-zip.com and looks up the Zip+4, then puts it on the envelope for me - all in one step, with bar code, so I can print it. And for the life of me, I cant find anything that does this, to replace it with, in the same affordable price range, for home / home office use. Someone is missing some entrepreneurial opportunity here! :-) Isn't that crazy? I've searched and searched, and only found really basic and free envelope printer softwares, and some function of Microsoft Word that supposedly prints envelopes too, but I don't use Word or Microsoft Office. Who can afford that expensive thing, when OpenOffice is out there for free?

But, does anyone know of a modern replacement that does the same thing, without having to schlep to some USPS site and look up each address manually?

Congrats on your low temps. Is that at idle or full load, and how much does it increase when the CPU is actually working? That's the test of good cooling.

Sandra has a good burn-in routine to heat up your CPU.

I've never really seen the 'burn-in period' actually give you any better cooling. Maybe if you slather the AS on too thick, the fan vibration squeezes the excess out the sides and you then have a thinner layer and better contact.

I'm not familiar with HSFs, especially for A64 so I'll leave that for someone else to comment on.

Background Info:

I work for a very large corporation. I won't tell you the name of the company, but it does rhyme with "Tears and Foebuck". My actual job is to keep the productivity of in-home repair technicians high. Maximize productivity, minimize overtime and customer inconvenience.

We use a few programs that assist us with this job, but two of them are even older than I am. It is so old that the newest version of Windows we can operate is Windows NT, or the program is not supported. My biggest problem with this program is that the only way to keep a record of anything is to print it. If the printer goes out, we have no records to speak of. Now, every night when I am don with the next day's routes I have to print out a bunch of reports that equate to a whole ream of paper. There are eight of us that have to print these reports and mine (almost a full ream) is the smallest. We then have to file these under the date of the routes. I find it hard to believe that my job is to keep productivity high for 160+ technicians but my own productivity is lacking.

Now comes the time for my question, but keep these things in mind:

I have no control over what program we use.
This would not be a change made by me, just a suggestion to my supervisors.
I am not looking to change this program, just find a way around its problems.

Hi Y'all
I'm trying to help my sister get her laptop straitened out after it had to have a new hard drive put in. It's a 5 or 6 yr old Toshiba running windows XP and a HP Photosmart C6380 printer. It was all working fine before she dropped her laptop pooching the hard drive. Now every time Internet Explorer 8 is opened it gives a big warning box saying something like;
H P Printer add-on for printing web pages from Internet Explorer 8 has been blocked. If you want HP add-on enabled it can cause Internet Explorer 8 to freeze or crash. Do you want to leave add-on disabled or do you want to enable the add-on"
That's not exactly what it says but as close as I can remember. Before having to replace the hard drive it was using IE 7 and everything worked fine. The shop that replaced the hard drive upgraded it and installed IE 8, so now the problem. If I could get rid of IE 8 and go back to IE 7 I would. I've tried to find a patch for it on the HP web site and the Explorer help but haven't been able to find anything on it.
The warning also has a link in it for help. That called for a couple of updates to be installed but it didn't make any difference. After installing the updates, I think they said they were for something called something frames, or something like that. Any who, installed them and restarted the laptop and it didn't make any difference.
Anybody have any idea of what I should do with it? Should I tell it to go ahead and ... Read more

A:HP printer program having a conflict with IE 8

You can go back to Internet Explorer 7 if you wish, here's how.

First you need to close all programs.

Start> Control Panel> click on Uninstall a Program under the Programs category.

In the Tasks pane click on View installed updates.

Look in list of installed updates for Windows Internet Explorer 8 and double click on it. Then click on Yes in the dialog box.

You may be asked for you administrator password at this point, type in the password and continue. If you don't have a password assigned press Enter on the keyboard. Now just follow the instructions to uninstall IE8.

When this is done restart your computer.

hi guys,

I have a lexmark1100 all in one printer/scanner.

All worked well with no problems when i was running xp home. Now i have changed onto pro sp2 it wont work. The program cd, program from the web and the driver the tech person at lexmark gave me wont work.

The printer will print when i request it to but the scanner wont work. When i installed it from the disk with xp home all worked fine with a program called all in one. But this program is not there now, hence i cant scan. This program is like the brains of the machine and whatever i do it wont install it from any of the above sources. All the setups seem to just install the printer drivers and not the driver for printing or the program.

I have tried installing it in safe mode and the same happens.

Is there some kind of setting i am missing im realy stuck coz i need to use my scanner

Hi,

Our team has created a GPO to install Canon iR-ADV C3330 network printer on all the clients. The user can easily make changes in printer properties at the time of printing, by going to Printer Properties/Preferences from application's print option
(to change from color mode to black and white, from 2 sided to 1 sided or any kind of changes.)

But if in case when a user wants these changes permanently as default, at that time the user makes these changes in printer properties from Devices and Printers. After that they start facing issue of delayed printing. I.e. changing default settings
of printer makes delayed printing issue and halts at the print page showing "Connecting to printer". This also happens while try to access Printer Preferences from Devices and Printers.

Restore Defaults does not work so the only option remains is to reinstall.

Note:
- All the users are using desktop or laptop with Windows 7 Enterprise.
- Printer is installed on Printer Server outside our premises.

Anyone has any idea for this issue?

Dhaval

I need to make a Canon F30 MultiPass currently installed on a USB port (running under Windows 98 SE) capable of printing to the LPT1 port as well - WITHOUT reinstalling the entire printer solely on the parallel port. Any suggestions how to do this please?

This unit is a multi-function combination printer and scanner. I would prefer to do something like a Novell networking style "printer port capture" type of solution. I would like the scanner to still be able to function under the USB port for faster scanning from Windows applications. At the same time I would like to be able to print to LPT1 as if from a Dos type program. Is this type of solution available?

I can't set this printer driver to do BOTH Dos and Windows printing, from within the Canon driver itself. I can't get a newer version of the software that needs a parallel port LPT1 printer setup. It is an ancient, but very specialized software program.

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps

One of my computers is having a serious problem. When the user tries to print from apparently any program to any printer in the office (they're all network printers) the application crashes. The application starts and runs normally, and the user is able to open the print dialogue box. However, as soon the he clicks on which printer it should go to, the program crashes. The reaction seems to quick to be network related, in my opinion; it's immediate.

M$ recommended that I update Office (as that was the application that first exhibited the behavior) and I did to no avail.

I am at this moment running a thorough virus scan in safe mode using Symantec Corperate Edition 10.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Not sure where to start on this problem.

have Windows XP Media Center

I am only user and my user has the administrator rights. No password.

A week ago I tried to upgrade Quikcen 2009 to 2010. I had problems. I tried to reinstall 2009, then 2008, then 2007 and all ahd problems installing. I spent 6.5 hours and I fianlly got it 2009 isntalled again and working by instlalling on another computer and coping folders to this computer.

To me it seems new folders are being created and fiels added, but the security rights are then set to
my name - all check boxes unchecked
system - all check boxes unchecked

I noticed other folders are just set to everyone and all boxes checked.

I think in my install I had to chekc all boxes and add everyone in the security on each folder.

The problem I have now is I cannot install a new printer. The install cd runs fine, it adds several folders, but again the rights are not set to everyone and the ones there are all unchecked (ie no rights). When the isntall finishes, it does not say anything is wrong. But there is no printer listed for this install, a Lexmark X4875, in the lsit of printers. However the scanner portion installed to scanners and faxes. I can scan a document. I cannot print as there is no selection in print dialogs.

Somehow this is related to the quicken problem, as I discovered it tries to install a 'Quicken PDF printer' which is installed on the second computer, but not this one.

Follow the directions that came with your new printer. Usually you have to first install the driver from the included disc or their website, then at some point you're instructed to plug the printer in with USB cable and power it up. It should then be recognized in Device Manager and show up in Control Panel/Printers, where you can set it to your default printer.

A:Can't print dos program over XP networked printer

When installing our work printers it asks whether we want it to print from DOS. As we don't use anything that is DOS we don't install the DOS printer drivers.

Could you possibly have selected not to print from DOS when the network printer was installed.

I have a problem, and I'm not the only one. I can print to a network printer just fine, but in any program if I try to access the Printer Properites on the print screen the program crashes. It happens on all printers in Word, and Photoshop so far.

Please help. I'm using Windows 7 32bit.

I am using Corel WordPerfect Suite 8 and when I try to print the return address and the senders address, they print in a vertical position instead of the normal horizontal position.
does anyone know of a solution to this?
I have been all through the Corel site and help section and found nothing so I thought I'd try here.
I tried emailing their Newsgroup and it keeps telling me it does not authenticate my password and I just signed up for it today and it was sent to me by email right away, but won't let me in for some reason.

Ok, go easy on a new guy. I am using Word 2003, Windows XP and a HP LaserJet 8000 printer. I have tray #1 set up for envelopes(COM10) and I am trying to get them to feed through to the Face-up tray (Left-hand side). So, that it will not bent the envelopes. Currently I have everything going to the regular output bin on the top of the printer.

The only setting I have been able to find is an all or nothing type. Either everything outputs to the top or the left side bin. I just want the envelope to go to the left side.

Any help?

Thanks

Hi,
Some of the mailing address that I get from Outlook into Word are truncated upon printing.
I have tried:
Re-entering the address in Outlook
Typing the address directly into the envelope form
Moving the address left by one inch prior to printing
Pasting the address from Notebook - where there should be no control characters
Nothing seems to work
I have Word 2007 and Outlook 2003. The envelope is No. 10
This only happens on some addresses. Any suggestions ?
Thanks
Frank C

I have a lexmark inkjet Z600 Printer. For the first time I tried to print a return and forward address.

I have not problem getting the envelope loaded but when it prints instead of printing vertically it prints horozonital .

I am using ms word for the names etc, I wonder if there is something that I need to do on that page to get the wording horozonital.

Thanks.

Does anyone know about addressing envelopes? Windows 95-I have may letterhead in Documents. I type my letter then I go to my envelopes to type my addresses. Well, my return address is always there which should be, but if I address an envelope to sender and then go out and go back in to address another envelope the same sender's address is there. Is there anyway of making sure it is not there so that everytime I go to create an envelope it will be blank in the sender's address?

I don't know whether this helps, but if you highlight an address in the current document before you go into the envelope screen, the highlighted text will be inserted into the address window.

Hi! New to the forum but since I have become the default Access person in my office I need all the help this forum can give

I'm using Access 2003 to track a very very large membership database (over 12,000 people!). What I would like to do is set up a command button on a form to print out envelopes for individual records when we need to send out one piece of mail at a time. I do use and love the Word mail merge for big jobs but find it a pain to retype out addresses when I only need one or two envelopes at a time. I've used the command button before but can't seem to figure out how to make it print an envelope (only the standard form). Help!

Thanks,
Steph

This may be what you want, Open the report rpt_Envelope and move the control to where you want it, this is set for DL Envelope. You can also put in a label and use it as your return address if necessary.

To see how it prints the current record , have a look behind the button envelope. If this is what you want then just copy the code to your db change control names etc. also change "preview" to "normal"

Hope this helps,

I keep receiving emails addressed to another person from a friend of mine, even though they are not addressed to me. When I looked at the properties of the email, I noticed that the Reply To:, the To: and From: fields are all correct but right down at the end, my email address appears in the Envelope To: field.

Anybody got any idea what causes this or what is this Envelope To: field?. Its got me baffled.

I have DeskJet 832C...Windows 98...Word 2000. The Delivery Address and Return Address are in the wrong place on the #10
9 1/2 "x 4..13 "envelope. Evidentally a margin error from the top of the envelope. The Return Address is 1 1/4" from the top of the envelope and the Delivery Address is 2 1/2 inches from the top of the envelop. Would appreciate any help to achieve correcting this error.

I have a new Canon MP-780 printer and can't determine how to print an envelope. Is there a slot somewhere to slip it in to (which I can't find) like my old HP DeskJet has? It has 2 feed trays: one underneath and a vertrical one on the back.

A:Envelope Printing using Canon MP-780?

Try this.

1.Open the autosheet feeder and pull up the extension.
2.Prepare the envelopes for loading.
IMPORTANT
Press down firmly on the edges of the envelopes to make the folds crisp. Also, press firmly on the area that corresponds to the edges of the back flap.
Remove any curling by holding the edges diagonally and bending them gently.
If the edges of the envelope are inflated or are curling, place the envelope on a flat surface. With a pen, press down while moving it from the center toward the edges of the envelope.
Ensure that no curl or puff exceeds 1/8 in. (3 mm).
3. Place the stack of envelopes (print side up, with letterhead down) in the Auto Sheet Feeder, and pinch the paper guide and adjust it to the left side of the stack.
Load the envelopes in the Auto Sheet Feeder with the short side down.
IMPORTANT
Make sure the stack does not exceed the paper limit mark.
Make sure paper does not hang over any place. If it does, paper might be fed at an angle.
