I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello everyone,  I recently purchased a used T470s, but it came with a low quality third party charger, and now I really want to buy a genuine Lenovo charger, but my problem is that there are so many options! The T470s product specifications PDF states that both 45W and 65W chargers of the USB-C and SlimTip varities can be used, but what about other charger types?Using the automatic parts finder in the accesories part of support section I also get suggestions for 135W and 170W chargers, which confuses me. Furthermore, the specifications page for the 65W Travel Adapter doesn't list the T470s as a compatible model, even though it's basically a 65W SlimTip charger in a different package. So how can I find the exact charger I need? And what are the differences between them? Can I use the 135W and 170W versions or will my machine blow up? Is the 65W Travel Adapter compatible or not? What other options are there?  Thank you for your help in advance,Martin

Hello everyone,i'll try to give the most details i can.I just bought a 2nd hand t470s, and started by reinstalling windows from a usb bootable win10 i had at home.Everything worked fine except for the wifi card : i dosnt show anywhere. i cant see it on the device manager, its not greyed out nor hidden. Everything up to date, from windows update, to single driver update from the device manager, the intel update tool or even all the lenovo support drivers.I finally asked the support for a clean win10 pro update using my serial number. reinstalled everything clean, but still no wifi card detected. I switch with a killer 1535 from my other laptop : the ac 8265 worked on my other laptop, but i couldnt get the killer 1535 to work on my 470s (i could see it in the devicer manager but kept getting greyed out..).I spent the last 4 days on it and i feel like i read all the google pages that couldve helpt me.

Purchased the T470s with 4G LTE modem. The Sierra wireless EM7455 is clearly visible in device manager with no errors and can be turned on and off, but it won't detect any SIM-cards (have tried updating, restarting, different SIM-cards), but nothing. Only asks to enter the SIM-card, but does not detect it when inserted.

Hi All, I just bought a second hand lenovo thinkpand t470s that has core i5 and 8gb of ram, and 256GB NvMe storage. I was wondering to what capacity can I upgrade the ram? Right now I have one slot of ram available and there is a 4GB DDR4 ram stick in there. Can I replace this with a 16gb DDR4? Also there is a 256GB NVME storage, whats the max capacity that I can replace this with? Can I replace it with 1TB?  will upgrading these parts create overheating problems? and how much will the ram and or NVME upgrade stress my battery life? anyone that has done this upgrade for this mode? Thanks.

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X240 that suddenly turned off whilst I was using it. It was charging at the time, and I'm fairly certain that the laptop itself didn't overheat. I've tried disconnecting the battery and ac adapter, holding the power button, connecting them back on and pressing the power button but nothing. It would be great if someone could give me some help, thanks.

My laptop doesn't turn on anymore. Here is what I have to do to turn it on (I tried many sequence of steps, but this is the only one that works every time):-Disconnect battery and CMOS battery-Press power button ten times, then press and hold for 30 seconds-Connect power adaptor and press power button At this point, my laptop turns on, but I have to reset my time and date in BIOS (of course this is normal since I disconnected the CMOS batter). Once I turn my laptop on, my batter shows that it is charging and it is at 100%. I dual boot and both Ubuntu and Windows 8.1 show the batter charging at 100%.As soon as I unplug my AC adaptor, the laptop turns off again and I have to repeat the sequence above again to turn it on. This happens consistently. However, if I shutdown my laptop the right way without unplugging the AC adaptor at any point, it turns back on normally. This happens of both my Linux and Windows OS. What I've tried:-Uninstalling battery drivers and restarting my laptop-Updating to the latest power management drives from this Lenovo websiteI also read that some HP laptops have software issues that doesn't allow the laptop to switch from AC adaptor mode to battery mode. I believe this might be the issue I'm seeing, but I couldn't find a way to check this setting. I don't think this last detail is related, but when I shutdown Windows, I see a message saying:Closing 1 app and restartingAsusSGPLusBTServerThis app is preventing you f rom restartingAlo... I tried unpluggin everything, holding the power button, and doing the thing where you press the power button 11 times and hold for 30 seconds also with no luck. I called Lenovo and they didn't seem to interested in helping me even though this is a known issue that Lenovo has ackoleded in a previous post. Hello,  I'm having some trouble with turning on my laptop. The problem originally started when some keys on my keyboard stopped working. I cleaned the keys, restarted my laptop, tried a previous restore point and then did a hard reset after nothing worked to fix my laptop.  After hard resetting, I tried turning on my laptop and it did not turn on. So far, I've plugged in my laptop into the adaptor, plugged the adaptor directly into the wall outlet, and removed the battery and plugged in the laptop. The one thing I have noticed with my laptop is that when I plug in the adaptor, the battery and sleep lights turn on for a moment, then the sleep light turns off, and the battery light will stay on momentarily but then it will blink off after a few seconds. What else should I do? Thank you

My Laptop's been fine for 2 years...when I'm on battery, I switch the wifi off via the switch on the laptop. However, all of a sudden, the Wifi won't turn on again! The switch isn't broken (I've moved it back and forth), and I've tried the software switch ( Fn+F5), but that doesn't work either! I dual boot Windows 8+7, and neither OS has wifi on. I've also tried uninstalling drivers/disabling the adapter via Device Manager, but no luck! I also went into the BIOS, disabled the adapter through there, launched Windows 8, then rebooted and reenabed the Wifi, and that didn't work either =(.EDIT: Windows troubleshooting says "Turn on wireless capability: Use the switch on the front or side of the comptuer, or function keys if available, to enable wireless capability on this computer".My warranty ended over a year ago!Paying to send in the laptop for this would suck. So my wife's laptop got wet (water bottle leaked in her laptop bag) and I tried to dry it out as best possible, but after a few days of airing it out it would not turn on. Through online searching I discovered the remove batteries and ram, hold power button for 60 seconds, put ram back and plug in power cable etc and it worked! But now it seems if we shutdown the laptop and let it sit for an unknown amount of hours it will not turn on again and I have to repeat the above process again but it again will startup. I had her leave it in sleep mode while she wasn't using it which seemed to work but it appears that it may have shutoff on its own after being asleep for an extended period of time (not 100% sure if she accidentally shut it down on or put it into sleep mode.) Does anyone happen to know if there is something I can do beyond the above steps to possibly bring it back to normal? Any help is greatly appreciated!

A:How do I turn the WIFI on in Lenovo V110-17IKB?

My guess would be that the driver for the WiFi adapter is not properly installed.    If you right-click Start, select Device Manager and expand the Network Adapters section, do you see a Wireless LAN adapter shown?     If not, are there any unknown devices shown in Device Manager? The latest Lenovo driver for that model is linked below but if you installed Windows 10 1903, you may have to wait for a newer driver if you have the Qualcom WiFi adapter, which is a known issue with the Windows 10 1903 build.    My understanding of the problem, however, is that the card would still be detected, but but connectivity would be intermittent. WLAN Driver (Qualcomm, Realtek, Intel) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Lenovo V110-17IKBhttps://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/d3lr04af.exe  Best of luck,

Hello, The WiFi adapter is the Intel Dual Band wireless-ac 3160 and the drivers are from October 2017, the Device Manager is showing the network card as working without issues and nothing is reporting any problems, yet I am unable to simply turn the WiFi ON. The operating system is Windows 10 and I have tried the following: - enabling the WiFi interface using the command prompt (says it is already enabled)- trying older drivers for the Intel Dual Band wireless-ac 3160 (still will not turn ON)- opening the laptop and disconnecting the two wires from the WiFi module, then reconnecting (still no difference)- disabling and then re-enabling the Wireless in BIOS (no difference)- loading default settings in BIOS (no difference)- installing Windows 8.1 from scratch (same problem)- re-installing Windows 10 (same problem)- installed all of the Lenovo utilities and Companions I could find (still nothing)- windows troubleshooting simply tells me to switch the WiFi ON using either a hardware switch (which does not exist on this notebook) or the software switch using the keyboard - I press the F7 for airplane mode and it says that it goes into that mode, then pressed again and it simply goes back to WiFi which is turned OFF and showing the red X What is interesting is that when I booted TAILS from a USB drive the WiFi worked without issues, so this is obviously a software problem. Any suggestions?

Also make sure the switch (on the left front?) is turned on

Hi guys,I have a laptop which is a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E431 model running on Window 10 Pro OS. It is a Core i3-3110M CPU @2.40GHz 8GB RAM 64-bit OS. My issue is :WLAN / WiFi keeps going ON and OFF every now and then. The WiFi once connected keeps connecting and disconnecting every minute and it sometimes take forever to reconnect back. I will need to right-click on the WiFi Symbol at the bottom right and click on 'Troubleshoot problems' to recover from this issue. Once recovered, it disconnects again. Some Observations :The issue could be because of the conflict between the Bluetooth drivers and the WiFi drivers. If Bluetooth is disabled then the WiFi works correctly. There will be no problems regarding the WiFi getting disconnected. These are the following details of the hardwares and their respective driver versions. Network : Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless -N 2230Driver Version : 15.18.0.1Driver Date : 30-04-2015  Bluetooth : Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R)Driver Version : 18.1.1525.1445Driver Date : 18-06-2015 I have no idea why these two are causing this issue, but I really need to fix this. And it has been atleast a year since I bought this laptop and it has been showing this problem since 4 - 5 months back. Please let me know if there is a work around for this. If not atleast I hope the above information might help fixing the issue. If there is any additional information that is needed from me, please leave a m... Read more

A:Lenovo thinkpad yoga 14, wifi problem on tablet mo...

Hi, welcome to the forums.

Can you please post the full model number of your Thinkpad Yoga 14?
Are you using Windows 10?

I may suggest you first to try to update the Wifi drivers and maybe some other of the system driver of you Yoga.
Here are my general tips:

1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches
2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.
3) Try to install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows App Store, Lenovo Companion also has a "update driver search"
4) Sometimes all that software does not recognize some updated / missing driver. Check Lenovo's Support Site and search for your specific model drivers (use the full model number of your Thinkpad).

After that we can try a little bit more. For example I also like to test it on some other Wifi networks just to be sure it is not a compatibility issue with the Wifi Router.

Not sure what you mean by you searched for drivers at Lenovo?  Or are you saying you found the drivers but they dont work?  Either way below is the link to T470s.   Click "Drivers and Software" on top.  You can Choose Windows 7 32 bit or windows 7 64 bit.  Also that link will have "system update" as well.  It should pull down all software for your laptop automatically.  Also you metnion T470s but wasnt sure if you had the 20JS, 20JT, 20HF or 20hg models.

Unfortunately, it only seems to be able to charge it when the laptop is off / in sleep mode. I have since March this machine which is giving me quite a lot of problem. I had several BSOD (or the nicer version Win 10 provides) since several months. I updated even the BIOS. Now it seems related to a specific situation: if the notebook is connected to power supply and goes to sleep. If instead it relies on battery, such issue does not occur. Looking at the minidumps, I notice the main error is always the same PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA caused by ntoskrnl.exe + 1640e0 As I use my machine for computations, it becomes really and issue. If I close it and force it to sleep, everything seems OK (or less reproducible events). I made the Lenovo tests and nothing looks wrong. Missing the CD, I do not know how to make a memtest. I read elsewhere that it be related to nvidia drivers, which I do not think concern this machine. I will attach the minidump files. Thank you for your suggestions and help.

Dear community, (please bear with me, I am not an English native speaker.) This is not about the "plugged, not loading" issue I found around here multiple times. My Thinkpad will charge via charger only when it is switched OFF. It loads perfectly when plugged via docking station.Batteries are getting empty, power save mode and all that. Pluging two different power units show same result. Behaviour, reproducable:Computer running, info tray says battery 1 in use and battery 2 not loading (or vice versa), no matter if charger is plugged or notWhen charger is plugged while PC runs, the charger indicator light right besides the power plug remains darkOnce my ThinkPad is truly off (shutdown), any of my chargers work just perfectly: orange light while charging, green light when finishedAdditional weirdness: ThinkPad does not start when plugged to the charger. Hitting/pressing the power button at the right of the keyboard has no effect at all. Once unplugged from charger, it boots just as usual. While typing this with 9% remaining capacity, computer shut down. I plugged it to the charger and closed the lid --> orange light. Waited a couple of minutes. Opened lid. ThinkPad wakes up, and I continue writing.Again: charger is plugged, LED light is off again, info tray says not loading/in use. Any ideas?Frederik I am running M$ Win10 Enterprise.
