Microsoft Data Access Error

Q: Microsoft Data Access Error

I tried installing a trial version of Living Cookbook on my desktop computer and it would not run. The following errors popped up. I installed the same program on my Laptop with the same windows 7 64bit configuration as my desktop and it ran fine. The only difference between the 2 computers is the laptop has Windows 7 home premium and my desktop has Windows 7 professional. Both computers have been fully updated with the latest Microsoft updates and are Malware and virus free. I don't know why the desktop is giving me this error when the laptop works fine. I have tried running this in Administrator mode, in window xp compatible mode all with same results. It ran with no configurations on my laptop.
I Googled MDAC 2.6 and all versions seem to be for XP systems. Again what ever is on my laptop doesn?t seem to be on my desktop.
I believe this is a System problem not a software problem, so I am posting this to see if any of you Great Windows 7 Gurus have any suggestion?

Application: Living Cookbook 3.0.34

Preferred Solution: Microsoft Data Access Error

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,

Im getting a error when I try to install a skin maker for my online web player. Once I click the .exe file, I get a send error report box pop up and after I get rid of that a Microsoft Data Access Components error box appears.

It looks like this:

I ran the silly tool on the MS website which tells you what version you have and it reported I have 2.8. But when I downloaded the latest version, it said it was not compatible with my version on Windows.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris

Hi Chris,

I've been looking around for you and come up with this piece of information from the Microsoft? MSDN website.

See if the Service Pack is of any use, as this article seems to think so.

Let us know the outcome.

Hello!

I work for a small pharmacy chain that services long-term care homes. One of the things that we do is provide each home with an emergency kit that houses many drugs, should something drastic happen and the drug need right away. We have an Access spreadsheet that has a record of every time a drug is pulled from the kit, as well as how much was used. What we'd like to do is use Access (or Excel, for that matter) to analyze what drugs are used the most (and the least) and how much is usually used each dosage.

My idea is to get a query to look up a drug - but then I need it to display the number of times it occurs (the number of times it's been used), not list them. It'd be great to be able to get it to do some calculations with the dosage numbers as well - mean, median, mode. My ideal final product would be a table or report with all the drugs on the left, then the different calculations in columns.

So, first of all, is this possible? Would I be better off in Excel or Access? How would I accomplish this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to limit potential data in a form for my Data entry team. My data entry team takes an application and places all of the clients information into my form. However, they are making mistakes because I have so many available plan types. I would like to first have them choose a carrier, which would limit the possible states that can be chosen. When they choose a state, they can choose the Plan type. I do not know how to limit what is presented once my data person chooses a carrier in a form. I then need that person to be able to enter the rest of the data.

A:Microsoft Access Limit Data by Drop Down Box

The best way to limit the Data is to use Combo boxes for selection, each Combo box selection "Filters" the data available to the next Combo box.
This is achieved by placing something like this in either a query that provides the combo data or in the Combo's SQL
forms![formname]![combo0]
in the second query
forms![formname]![combo1]
in the third query.
formname is the actual Name of your Form and Combo0 and combo1 are the actual names of your combos on that form.
I have already posted a few versions of this method on this forum.

Hi All

Your help in this will be greatly appreciated, been racking my brain but just can't figure it out.

Query:

SELECT tblTracking.PortfolioCode, tblTracking.[CRG Deadline], IIf(IsNull(qrybDistributionDeadline.Date),Null,CDate(CLng(qrybDistributionDeadline.Date))) AS D_Date, Count(*) AS [CountOfCRG Deadline], tblTracking.ProductType
FROM tblTracking AS tblTracking LEFT JOIN qrybDistributionDeadline AS qrybDistributionDeadline ON tblTracking.TrackingID = qrybDistributionDeadline.TrackingID
WHERE Not ( tblTracking.PortfolioCode In("630541","630542"))
AND tblTracking.[CRG Deadline] tblTracking.[CRG Deadline] OR qrybDistributionDeadline.Date Is Null)
GROUP BY tblTracking.PortfolioCode, tblTracking.[CRG Deadline], IIf(IsNull(qrybDistributionDeadline.Date),Null,CDate(CLng(qrybDistributionDeadline.Date))), tblTracking.ProductType
ORDER BY tblTracking.PortfolioCode;

The Story:

I am trying to run daily report which show me all the reports that are not signed off or late, I did this buy creating a query which checks the dates of the 2 tables.
CRG Deadline is the date which the report is suppost to be signed off by.
qrybDistributionDeadline.Date is the date that the user signed off the report.

It seems to be working at first glance but then I saw that when the qrybDistributionDeadline.Date = 01/02/2007 12:00:00 or later it changed the date to the following day. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Regards

I have a database which has about 60000 rows and 3 columns.
Here I have made a picture to show what exactly I want, this picture represent a general view of my data structure and also represent what I want.

I have 3 first columns (from left) and I want to create a new column like the last one which named New Text.
As you see I want to create a column which duplicate the Text of every row for X times. And X is the frequency of repeated number in Number ID 2.

For example: In Number ID 2, 8 repeated four times. So New Text should have four H. (H represent the text)

Please consider this to be done by Microsoft Access software, which I have no experience of working with.

A:How to create a new column using data of other columns in Microsoft Access

will take TWO updates.

1) a transaction to ADD Column "New Text"; commit

2) another to UPDATE "New Text" where "Number ID 2" equals "Number ID 1" value is TEXT;

(or something close to that - - it's be a while since I last used SQL grammar.

I would like to create a Form (if that is what is used) that will allow an end-user to query data from a table (or query). In other words, the form will allow the person to enter or select more than one set of criteria...

I have seen this done in other databases... Usually, there are "and" and "or" options that allow the end-user to select more filtering options.

Since my next question is a simple one (I hope), I'll add it here instead of a new thread:

In a user-level security database (Access 200), is there a way for me to be able to see which users are currently using the system? Sometime I want to perform maintenance on my database, but I have to call all of the users to make sure they are not using the system so I can open it exclusively.

Hello-
I'm trying to help my father solve an error message he is getting when he clicks on his 'My Documents' folder. A few days ago he tried to upgrade his existing Norton Anti Virus and had some trouble. He contacted Symantec's tech support and resolved the issue. However each time he clicks on his 'My Documents' folder, he gets a Data Execution Prevention error saying that Microsoft Explorer must shut down. He does not get the message when clicking on other folders, regardless if they are on his 'Desktop' or inside his 'My Documents' folder. Example, right-clicking on 'My Computer' and selecting 'Explore' will bring up a window with 2 panes. By clicking on the + next to 'My Documents" he can see the contents and access files inside the 'My Documents' folder. However, if he clicks on the actual 'My Documents' folder he will get the error message. I have tried everything I can think of before posting, but nothing seems to work (Scan Disk, Defrag, Registry Cleaners, Uninstalling and re-installing Norton Antivirus, AdAware SE, running various utilities in 'Safe Mode', etc.).

A:Data Execution Prevention / Microsoft Explorer error

Thank you to all that have taken the time to read my post. I don't know if the problem is truly 'solved', but I turned off the DEP for Microsoft Explorer and the error message no longer occurs. While searching various forums for DEP posts I ran across one that read "many users are experiencing this issue if they have AMD 64 processors." This is what my dad has on his computer.

Anyway, the procedure for the work-around is:
1. Create the DEP error first and click whatever buttons are necessary to get back to the desktop.
2. Start->Control Panel->double-click System->Advanced Tab
3. under Performance, click Settings.
4. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab
5. Select the "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select."
*note* (In my case, since MS Explorer created the error, it is listed in the menu)
6. Put a check in the box and re-boot your computer.

Hope this helps.

I have XP Pro, DELL Inspiron 6000 laptop that is about 2.5 years old. I scanned my hard drive as routine maintenance, and it found damaged sectors and tried to move data to another sector. Now, when I try to open Microsoft Management Console I get a Data Execution Prevention error.

I also can't open IE7 - it closes down with another Data Execution Prevention error.

I also get the same error trying to print to PDF Creator.

I tried copying files to a USB drive, fearing the worst. The copy fails every noe and then with a write-back error.

Finally, one of my USB drives does not get recognized (but it does on my other PC's and it used to on my problem laptop).

This is the third hard drive I have put into this laptop.

Can something in my laptop (virus, damaged files) be frying my laptop????

I use AVG Anti-virus and also scan regularly with Ad-Aware and Spybot and CCleaner.

Am I doomed to another hard drive blow-up?

Hello I hope someone can help. I am using Excel and Access 2000. I am trying to create a Pivot Table in Excel with a union query I created in Access. The union query works fine in Access and is pulling data straight from some text files (no calculations or anything). When I try to pull the data in from the access query I get the error "Too few parameters. Expected 11". I only have 10 columns of information that I am trying to pull over. I have spent all day trying to figure this out to no avail. We have done this before with other files in Access and it has worked before, but for some reason this one will not.

Hello. Whenever I try to use the Microsoft Access 2007 "Wizards" to help create something, an error message comes up stating "Error in DLL." Sometimes this error causes Access to shut itself down completely. I've tried reinstalling, but the problem has persisted. Any ideas? Thanks!

I'm trying to plan an event for school and I keep getting this Referential Integrity error message. I am trying to make a One-To-Many Relationship between the Clients Table & Events Table. The error message reads:

"Microsoft Access can't create the relationship & enforce referential integrity. Data in the table 'Events' violates referential integrity rules."

I tried to upload a screen shot but it was too big for the attachment so I can't do that I guess.

Please help me out. Would I need a foreign key for this to work? Just wondering.

I receive the following error message when I try to open a database:

"The database is not available at this time"

It occurs if I try to open the database right after I perform a docmd.quit on the same database and it closes out. Not sure what would cause this error. Thanks!

A:Microsoft Access 2000 Error Opening DB

Did you create the database? If not go to the database creater / administrator, otherwise cut out all the sensitive data, and attach a copy to this thread. It's probably something to do with the way the database is set-up.

Haven't come across this myself, may be a common known issue.

Hello,
I have a relatively new install of windows because I formatted a few weeks ago so I had a clean start with my new hardware. The only problem it seems is before I could get antivirus and things patched a virus or something caught me.

I dont think my computer is updating anymore and some applications have recently started to crash and my computer has sporadically turned off a few times this week and the temps were fine so i know it was not that.

I can not get to the microsoft update website, because when I try to go there firefox will open and direct me to the site.

I was getting an error on startup saying rundll32 could not find a file that AVG deleted and the files was called dll32 and sm. I will work on finding out what it used to be called.

I have an application called Prio installed which is a great extension to task manager that expands it abilities and it showed that I have unsigned versions of svchost, alg, and wimprvse running and some other unverified processes that are running under system.
The other suspicious proccess is unsecapp.exe

There are also quite a few open connections sitting on listen for my computer if needed I can put up a wireshark analysis.

Right now I have AVG, ad-aware, a-squared, and Secunia PSI installed.
A-squared pick up some files that AVG seemed to miss yesterday when I installed it so that got me concerned with AVG.

Thank you in advance.

Have you tried going to Start> Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management. It sounds like there's a corrupted file or a service is denying you access. You are the Administrator of windows? After trying the first scenario go to Start>Run and type services.msc and when the services window opens make sure Event Log, Windows Management Instrumentation(WMI), and Remote Procedure Call (RPC) are started and not disabled. Let us know how you make out.

Hi experts,

Implementing c++ data type passthrough with a header template works on windows 7 even with an error message on unknown type but on windows 10 an error 0xc0000005 was flagged and a write violation occurred on that data matching error.

I'd like to ignore the irrelevant type error and not sure how to implement that in the code.

Any input on this issue is welcome!

Many Thanks!

Best,
Victor

I have created a macro that will run an access database query and copy the results into Excel. It runs fairly well except on one PC where it gives me a:

"Run-time error '3706' Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed."

The error occurs in this particular line of code:
' Open connection to the database
cnt.Open "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" & _
I'm not sure if I have to change the version of the provider and if this is case how does one go about doing so.

Thank you

Hello all,
I am having an issue accessing the Developer API access page within the Microsoft Security Response Center website (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/msrc). When I click on Customer Guidance > Developer API access, or navigate to https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en-us/developer,
my browser first asks me to sign in and click which account I would like to use. I click my desired account, and it briefly redirects to the Microsoft Developer API Access page, but then after a split-second it redirects me back to the sign-in page. Is it
a requirement to have a specific type of email associated with the Microsoft account in order to get past this?

Thank you for your help!

Hello. I created a database, which is split between front end and back end. I was able to make copies of the database and have it tailored to each of our branches. For each user, I had to create a copy of the front end and link it to the back end from their machines. This was done for 3 of the branches (besides head office) on 3 computers in each branch over a OneDrive. At the head office, where the original files were created, everything works fine. However, in the branches, 2 out of 3 branches are giving me an error on the fields which pull the "Current User" and the "Date/Time". I am confused because all fields seem to be working fine on some computers but not other others. Please help.

The following is the error message generated i'm getting when i publish preview an asp page created in Drumbeat2000:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e10'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]COUNT field incorrect

/jt/media/IIS_Gen_3.0_Recordset.js, line 392

This occured when I created an asp (active server) server generated page (created in Drumbeat 2000) which uses the content from a database created with microsoft access 2000.

When previewed inside the Drumbeat2000 program, this error message is displayed...When viewed with explorer 5 or netscape, the data form elements simply are not visible.

Tech Notes:

Software used to create asp page: Drumbeat2000

Software used to create database: Microsoft Access 2000

Server info: Microsoft Personal Web Server 4 being run on my local computer

Somebody please tell me hot to eliminate this?

A:(Microsoft Access Driver) Error Count Field incorrect

Since no one else answered this one yet I guess I'll take a shot.

I would suspect there is a field being mapped to a field/variable of the wrong type. Do you have an aggregate function on a non-numeric field that's mapping into a field of the same type as the original instead of a numeric field that would hold the result of the aggregate?

I am in the process of developing an Access 2003 application, and almost done. While I was fixing some errors with controls on one of the reports, seems like the database corrupted. Now, I keep getting "microsoft office access has detected corruption in this file....etc". It instructs me to Compact & Repair, but when I get the same error message when I try that. If I open a blank database & try to import objects from the corrupted database, I cannot access/view the objects of the corrupted file from the blank database. Unfortunately, I dont have a backup of the file, I can try to restore to an earlier storage point (using System Restore), but will lose considerable work. Any ideas?

Hello,

I have two problems:

1.
I have a lot of scanning data, all date and time stamped. All the scans show different status of shipped packages (all shipments have unique ID#, but there are multiple scans on route for all of them to track the packages). I want to find all the packages, for which there was "misdirected" scan, then for all of them, show the scan before. So, the end result would be all the scans that show for each package where it was misdirected (the terminal# of the scan before the misdirect scan).

2.
I want to automate this: run 5 queries every two hours between 8am and 10pm, copy and paste all results into Excel to specified areas (e.g. first query results to A1, second to A5000, third to A10000, etc. or onto different tabs), save as .csv to a specific folder, then send it as attachment to a given e-mail address. Even partial solution can be good.
I only know macros (somewhat), not as much VBA, so I tried that with the TransferSpreadsheet command, but can't get it work.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
