I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi guys!Just bought an Acer VN7-592G-54TY, and I'm really happy with it. However, I can't access any advanced option in the BIOS, no matter I'm in Legacy or UEFI BIOS mode or wether the Secure Boot option is on or off. Do someone have a trick? I need to have access to some of the settings that can usually be found in the BIOS...

A:How to acess Advanced Options in InsydeH20 BIOS?

Hi, No matter what settings you will apply to the BIOS you will not see more options than you currently see. The settings which are not available are settings which are locked by acer. Thus you cannot change them, unless you make a custom/modded BIOS for the machine.

I have tried to do the same procedure both before starting the bios, both inside the bios, but it did not work.

Can you help?Thank you very much.

A:Unlock the advanced functions of the Bios InsydeH20 Rev 3.5 ...

Since we don't know what system the other person had we can't help you. And a bios by the same manufactures doesn't mean their options is the same as your option based on your system. So don't think what happens on another bios is the same as yours. And since we have no specs or P/N from theirs to verify what biso version they have know one can know for sure. And maybe their bios upgrades gives them that options but for you system that isn't available. So before trying to tie two different bios from different system is like comparing Apples to Oranges.

Not sure if this is the right place to post such a question, if it isnt, please direct me to the right board. I need to access the Advanced Tab to use IDE Compatibility mode, dual booting Windows XP to use legacy programs that dont work on a virtual machine. (poor 3d support) I know support for it dropped 2 years ago and some drivers might not work, but I need XP regardless. Anyway, after digging around the internet after my laptop kept shutting down during XP setup, I found out that I needed to enable IDE compatibility mode, but when I checked, the option wasnt there. My BIOS is  Insydeh20 Rev 3.7, version F.12. I am aware that accessing the advanced tab is risky, but I know there are safe(r) ways to do it. At this point, anything at all helps. Even if I can only access the advanced tab once. Thanks

Hello, I am not able to alter any variable (except Date) or boot from USB. Firmware update also not working. Disabling Secure Boot, Reset to Setup mode, Restore Factory keys or restore to factory defaults show no effect (after reboot settings are the same, efi dbx database still filled up). Tried also Windows EasyUEFI and Ubuntu efibootmgr. What is the correct solution to install and activate the EFI shell? In my opinion the EFI NVRAM is full or defect and the bos not able to handle it correctly or provide a solution for cleanup/fix.Any ideas? Best regardsPeter PS: would it work to Flash the SPI IC on the board in place without desoldering with my Miniprog?I can live with the situation but it is highly uncomfortable not being able to boot from USB stick.

Hey guys, I recently dumped my BIOS with the "Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit" in search for changing a DVMT value and I noticed something very curious. If you use a program called "UEFITool" to open the BIOS you dump on this laptop, and CTRL+F "DVMT" under text, it will bring you to a section named "PlatformHiiAdvancedDxe". Upon extracting the body of the PE32 image, I noticed that there appears to be a hidden tab in the BIOS named "Advanced" with several useful settings. My W540 has Nvidia KM2100 graphics card. I have a dock, so, to enable Nvidia KM2100 for external monitors connected to the dock, I changed Video Settings in BIOS from "Standard" to "Advanced".  Then, strange thing start to happen. When close the lid, laptop goes to sleep. When I open the lid, laptop wakes up and I can use it for roughly 2 seconds before screen suddenly goes blank and it automatically reboots. There is no BSOD or crash dump. It just reboots. This happens every time I close and open the lid. Basically, I can't use "sleep" feature. This is very annoying. The OS is Windows 10 Creator Update with the latest graphics drivers for both Intel HD4600 and Nividia KM2100. As soon as I revert Video Settings in BIOS from "Advanced" to "Starndard", which sadly disables Nvidia graphics card for external monitors, this strange behavior goes away. Any solutions?  Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, I´m having a really stange issue. I had Linux and Windows installed on dual boot and both installed with UEFI compatibility in mind. Yesterday I just wanted to wipe everything down and install just Linux on my U330p. On boot I´m not able to access the Boot Menu or BIOS when the bootable USB Drive is inserted. When I pull it out everything is fine. I wiped everything down on my HDD but still the Bootloader tries to boot to linux and after that to windows, but non of  them are installed anymore. When I start the pc over the recovery button on the left side of the device I´m able to select where I want to go:BIOS Boot Menuetc. And that is possible even if the Stick is in.In the BIOS the USB Stick is not shown and in the Boot Menu there is only Linux and Windows. When I pull the Stick out and open the Boot menu, which by the ways works fine, I´m not getting Linux or Windows shown. And to mention that no BIOS changes are saved. I tried a million times. The USB Stick boots and works fine. I tested it on other devices. I can´t understand whats going on here. Any advice ? Thanks a lot.

Hi, If you're installing to a gpt drive, try creating the installation media again using MBR for UEFI computers - FAT32. Also, I'd definetely make sure to insert the installation flash drive when the machine is on and then power it off via the power button - hold it down for 15 seconds just to ensure the machine has powered down.  Then tap away at the esc key as soon as you power on, select the Boot Manager ( f9 ) option and see if the flash drive is now listed. Regards, DP-K

Why would you want to unlock it? they probably lock it to prevent damage from things like overclocking.

hi lubeats,

Welcome to the Forums.

Are you referring to the hidden additional options in the BIOS (like in this image)? AFAIK there are no special combination keys to do this and these options can only be unlocked if you flash a modified version of the BIOS (which, unfortunately, is not officialy supported).

For backing up your current BIOS, check this article.

There are limited options only when I go to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings\Change advanced power settings in particular Intel (R) Dynamic Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Settings.

My Lenovo Z410 came with v37 BIOS dated 2013.I went to Lenovo website and downloaded and ran 8DCN40WW.exeInstead of taking normal time to flash, Windows started rebooting after only a couple sec. No bootup. Blank screen (no backlight). After 50+ bootup attempts I sometimes get the blue error message at bootup:InsydeH20 invalid firmware image. After changing RAM positions, and trying the Lenovo "rescue" bootup button, I got a bootup.CPU-Z still shows the BIOS is V37 (ie it didn't flash). I know I have Secure Boot enabled. So, to fix this I believe I need to force flash the old v37 BIOS image. SUGGESTIONS?HELP?

Forgot to mention.I already tried "draining power". Hey guys , I need someone to explain to me...or even recommend me how to set advanced settings in the " performance & quality " tab in my video card's settings

these are : 1-force mipmaps ? none bilinear and trilinear
2-conformant texture clamp on or off ?
3-extension limit? on or off
4-hardware acceleration
5-trilinear optimization? on or off
6-Anisotropic mip filter optimization? on or off
7-Anisotropic sample optimization? on or off
8-negative LOD bias? clamp or allow

my card's a MSI FX5700 LE card with 256 MBs of ram

Thanks in advance

A:Advanced Settings

set it to trilinear and everythign else to on or enabled. if you experience crashes or problems, disable the options one by one until the problem is corrected, thus exposing the offending setting.
