Case Window Panel?

Q: Case Window Panel?

I have a Just 4 PC case. The model number is JPC07. I wanted to modify it by adding a window side panel. Ho would i go abotu doign this. Could i buy a generic beige panel that has a window or would i have to call them and get it customly made. Is there by any chance a kit i can buy to install a window into the case manually?

Here is the link to the case picture and info

Preferred Solution: Case Window Panel?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Case Window Panel?

There are kits you can purchase, but it would require you doing the cutting. With the cheap case you already have, it would make more sense to purchase a new case from newegg with a window already in it. www.newegg.com Then just swap all the components.

Don't take this personally, but TigerDirect.

I don't remember how long ago I submitted this problem, but it does not appear to have been addressed (or if it has I cant find the reply) I still have field within the properties box which do not have corresponding columns within the Explorer window.
I seems to me to be a real case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing as whoever designed these two items didn't exchange details. This was my original query "
Using Windows 10 / .wma & .wmv "properties" fields / Folder and file display columns. There are two fields in the properties
box "Content provider" and "Group description" which do not have corresponding columns within the folders. As I use both boxes, what do I do>" Nothing has changed!

Been messing with this for days. When I open the Control Panel I do not have the option to switch the view on the left side pane. All that is there is the See Also window. I went to view, Toolbar, Customize and added the views icon to the toolbar. As long as I keep the customize toolbar box open and move it up or down I can see it on the toolbar. Once I close the Customize Toolbar window the view icon grays out on the tool bar. My back button is the same way. I checked in another users window and the control panel is fine. I have Windows XP SP3. I am the Admin on the PC. Any help would be great.

A:Category and Classic view window missing on Control Panel window

In the Control Panel window click on the Tools tab > Folder Options, click on the "Show common tasks in folders" button and click OK or Apply. That should restore the Category and Classic View options.

I recently got a brand new computer case and today when I inserted external HDD, the computer reseted itself.HDD is working fine in motherboard USB ports, but when I want to connect the HDD device from front panel, the screen suddenly goes back and computer restarts. In device manager there is no problem discovered.
It resets even if I touch the USB port with the HDD connector. It can't be short circuit right ?
If somebody got an idea to fix this please post here I would highly appreciate it.

A:PC case front panel USB malfunction

Sometimes it's an idea to disable legacy USB devices in the board BIOS, but in your case I suspect your front ports are not powered and the amount of current the drive needs causes the instability and restart.

Consider using a powered USB hub or extension USB cable linked to a rear motherboard port.

I've just built my first custom PC (Specs posted below). Everything appears to be up and running just fine, except.... one not so minor problem. When I installed the mobo on the factory drilled ATX screw slots - the mobo's rear I/O panel do not even come close to aligning with the case's rear I/O panel slot. Of course the rear I/O Panel that came with the case didn't work, but this problem is with the rear I/O Panel that came with the mobo. Simply stated: none of the mobo's rear I/O devices (i.e. USBs, ethernet, PS2, Audio) jacks will even come close to aligning with the panels slots. It almost appears as if the factory drilled slots are almost uniformly 1/8 - 1/4 inch too low. Temporarily, I just pulled the rear I/O panel from the case so that I could get the system up and running, but of course that means that I have a large gapping rectangle of a hole for dust to enter.

Has anyone ever encountered this? Apparently ATX case and ATX motherboard isn't always a no brainer. Has anyone every drilled their own mounting holes? If so, any words of wisdom?

Thanks for the help!

Hi all: My #1 gpu slot died on my Evga 580i SLI mother board and I purchased a ACER 580i SLI board made by MSI (P/N#7510) to replace it. The problem is the case front panel plug sockets which are identified as JFP 1&2 are identified on the MSI 7510 manual that I downloaded are no where on the mother board. There is however a JGP101, JSP11 and a socket labeled front panel with all pins bent at a 45 degree angle at their mid point, it does not appear to be the same pin configuration as the one pictured in the manual. Can any one shed any light on how to hook this up? This is the last hurdle to overcome to get my computer up and running again.

A:Case front panel hook up dilemma.

Where did you but the Acer Motherboard? A board made by MSI for Acer is not likely to be the same configuration as a board made for retail sale.

My little Sister's Compaq Presario CPU is getting old, with 1Ghz PIII CPU and 256 SDRAM. I can tell that any ATX motherboard will perfectly fit the case, and the Power Supply will also work. The only problem is the front panel wiring. Like with most brand name computers, the front panel cables are wired and stuck together to a plug that only matches the motherboard that came with the unit. Is there any site out there where I can find the "pinout" or wiring specifications or descriptions, so I can match a regular, more advanced and a lot cheaper motherboard that I can buy almost anywhere? I don't want to try by troubleshooting, because I almost fried one board some time ago while doing that kind of operation. I bet Compaq won't publish that kind of diagram, because it won't be "co$t effective" for them, they want us to buy the extremely expensive parts that they sell. Can anyone help me?

Question, my front panel wires for my case (the cables for the power switch, reset switch, led's, etc) look different than the connectors on my mobo.
My mobo connector has 12 pins all spaced out for the different connections, my case however has a connector made up of 8 wires all together in 1 connector, and 2 empty holes with no wires.
I have tried plugging it in different positions but the power button is not working.

I know the mobo is getting power because there is a internal led that comes on when I plug in the case.

Any ideas?

A:Question about case front panel connectors

You have an incompatible plug for the corresponding headers on the mobo. Sometimes you can get one or two things working but the only real solution is to get rid of the all in one plug and rewire to fit the mobo pin outs. Or get a compatible mobo for the front panel plug.

Yesterday I finally received my new computer case. I'm still waiting for the motherboard and other parts to come, hopefully tomorrow. The problem is, I opened the case to check it out and the front panel connectors were different than I have seen in the past. The front panel wires are all marked with "Data +1, Data -1, Gnd 1, VCC 1, SpkOut L, SpkOut R, Return L, Return R, MIC-IN, MIC-BIAS, Data +2, Data -2, Gnd 2, VCC 2, etc." I have no idea where these plug into the motherboard, and I don't have the manual for the board yet as I have not received it yet. I'm going to be using an Asus P5WD2-E motherboard. I couldn't find anything on the homepage, so any help with this is greatly appreciated.

OK well after years of installing just about every bit of hardware possible in various flavours of computers I finally decided to build a new one from the ground up. So here I am with my nice new case wich has front panel mic and audio out sockets, and some usb ports, and a motherboard which has pins to fit them. Only trouble is the labelling on the leads from the front panel, and the labelling on the pins on the mobo don't quite match up.
Here's what I've got on the mobo for the audio connections:
(forgive the 'code' tags, I wanted this monospaced and courier was parsing multiple spaces as one space)

aud_mic aud_gnd
aud_mic_bias aud_vcc
aud_fpout_r aud_ret_r
nc key
aud_frout_l aud_ret_l

And from the front panel I have two leads, one with mic connections, one with audio connections, labelled as follows:
Mic Cable

audio cable
Now some of these match up fairly obviously, the l and r in and out for instance... and I think vcc is the mic- power.. but there's two grounds... and what about the NC and KEY pins on the nmobo, does anything go there?
Here's how I;ve connected some at the moment:

Mic Cable | Mobo pins
.mic-power | .aud_vcc
.mic-in | .aud_mic
.ground | .aud_gnd
audio cable |
.l-ret | .aud_ret_l
.r-ret | .aud_ret_r
.l-out | .aud_out_l
.r-out | .aud_out_r ... Read more

A:motherboard & case front panel connections

What you have so far looks right. The NC is no connection. The Key may be for some kind of switch on a mike(not sure). I do not see a ground on the audio cable hooked up. You may want to check that.

well... its all a learning curve... installing new PC into old Acer Aspire T140 case and got it all done but the front panel connectors are not singular or pairs but as so..

PWR BTN - 2 wires going into a block of six with one pin blocked out on corner
HDD/PWR LED - 4 wires going into a block of 6

obviously Acer designed the case to only be used with their motherboards...

can anyone confirm that there are no "converters" or such and the only solution is to buy a new case?

Hello. The short of this is that I am having problems with 2 things in setting up my MIC and EAR for the front panel of my case. There is a GND wire from the case wire that I do not know where to put which is from the EAR phone wires and I'm confused about: MIC VCC or +5v for the MIC-VCC. I think what I have layed out below is so far correct. I have more detailed info below:

I have an ASUS A7N8X E-deluxe motherboard ( http://tinyurl.com/3el2g ) which I am trying to connect to the front panel for Microphone and Headphone of my Sky Hawk case ( http://tinyurl.com/786rg ) . On page 2-26 or reader page 46 of the manual it says: front panel audio connector (10-1 pin FP_AUDIO and I have to remove the jumper pins. Now the motherboard pins are setup:

Motherboard pins setup from left to right:

Line out R__BLINE OUT R
Line out L__BLINE out L

And the CASE wires are:

MIC (bunched together)

Mic IN

EAR (bunched together):

Ear L1___Ear L2
Ear R1___Ear R2

I have a few guesses but I have to say I am a little confused.

So it should be:

Line out R =Ear R1
BLINE out R=Ear R2

Line out L = Ear L2
BINE out L = Ear R2

so that leaves a choice of MIC VCC or +5v for the MIC-VCC AND one ground wire with no pin if I am looking at this right. THe motherboard has 9 pins (but 1 is NC) and the case has 8 wires for the MIC and EAR. So the only thing that is left is the confusion around... Read more

I have recently custom built a PC using an ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 motherboard in a CiT 2206 MIDI Case.
I have downloaded VIA drivers from the motherboard website I linked above, but uninstalled the program that came with it (It didn't manage audio very well and prevented my speakers from working :/ ; also my front panel microphone didn't work before uninstalling this program either)

Anyway, my problem is that when I put a microphone into the microphone jack on my case (front of case) It doesn't work and windows doesn't detect any recording hardware. When I plug a microphone into the motherboard, It works straight away without a problem. I really need the front panel to work for Skype and other audio recording needs as my cable will not reach around the back of my case.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I need to be able to switch off the creative system and insert earphones into the front jack without changing plugs over, but the front speaker port will not work at the same time as the having the Creative system plugged in. However if I put he green plug of the Creative system into the grey jack then I do not get game or system sounds, only music.

I've inherited a Dell Optiplex 7010 MiniTower, and the plastic slider on the top inside of the case that grabs the hooks on the side panel is missing.
This means that I have to use the locking hole in the back (with a short bolt and wing nut) to hold that panel in place.  Of course, the handle (having nothing to slide out of the way of the hooks) will do nothing.
I know how to insert a new one; the problem is: I can't seem to find it online anywhere.
Is this thing sold by Dell?

You would have to cannibalize from a case.  The model is old enough that the part is no longer available from dell parts.

Hello and thanks for helping me. Basically when I get to desktop screen after boot up, a CMD window appears and then causes Mozilla firefox to open a window that redirects me to gameharbor.org. Alright so here is my issue. Whenever I happen to click on my control panel I receive this windows stop error 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x80506A01, 0xEC451DF4, 0x00000000). It is more of an annoyance than anything, as I can startup my computer and use just about everything on it just fine until I try to access my control panel. Whenever I send the error report to microsoft, it says there is a problem caused by the antivirus software (PC tools antivirus). I tried uninstalling it, just for the sake of seeing if it would help matters, and I again received the same stop error. Upon restart the microsoft error reporting says its a corrupted error report? I'm really not quite sure what the issue is, since now I do not have that antivirus program installed on my computer. Any kind of help to lead me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated as I am rather confused.

From time to time, some (few) external programs (which are not part of Window) disappear from the list of the programs and functionalities in the Add/Remove window in the Configuration panel. They were visible in this window immediately after their installation, but disappeared sometime later. I didn't find any adequate help in the various forums and support sites I visited. KB266668 for instance concerns (if I understand well) a general failure in the Add/Remove window and not a specific missing program in the list. I haven't tried Fix-It.

I am therefore unable to uninstall these pieces of software, as I currently need to move one of these programs from one hard disk to another.

The concerned PC has an i7 4771 CPU, 16 MBytes memory and runs Windows 7 Professional 64 bits, Norton Internet Security and also PC Tune-up (which has been acquired recently by AVG).

I would be interested in understanding the origin of this strange behaviour and finding a way to restore the missing lines in the Add/Remove window.

Thank you for your ideas and help,

@hm8? I lost my sound after the first Update to the Anniversary Update.  "Looked OK", but the only sound I had was coming out of my second monitor's speakers, which had been set as Default when the "Speakers" disappeared.   Meh. Regardless of what the Device Manager is telling you, you may want to install your HDT Audio driver for Windows 10. Your System, one of nine models: "Envy m6 Sleekbook" (9) When you see a Post that helps you,Inspires you, provides fresh insight,Or teaches you something new,Click the "Thumbs Up" on that Post. Fixed / Answered? I find that I'm wanting to change the Microphone level quite often and wonder if I can somehow create a shortcut direct to it, so it's a 1-click thing, straight to the Levels tab.

Currently I have to click about 7 times to get to that tab. Is it possible to create a shortcut to a drilled down level like that? If not, does anyone know if there's a way to find where in the registry the Level number is stored ? Then I can at least create a few preset .reg files that I can click on to set it without even going into that Levels dialog.

A:Creating a Shortcut direct to a control panel sub-level window

Hello ddd990,

If you like for now, you could use the shortcut in the tutorial below to open to the "Recording" tab in Sound properties to save a few clicks.

I have been experiencing an awfully long delay when I open a new window in XP. Whenever I try and open My Computer for example there is a delay of around 5 - 10 seconds before the window actually appears. However once the window is open everything is fine until I close it, then if I try to open it again it takes another 5 -10 seconds to open.
The same thing happens with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Control Panel and indeed every other window. There appears to be no hard drive activity during this pause and the CPU activity remains around 20% until the window actually appears and then it jumps to 30%.
I have run SpyBot, AdAware, AVG and I always have Zonealarm Active and nothing seems to work. I'm at a loss.
I did read on a different forum that someone had a similar problem and used Hijack This to help him solve the problem so hopefully the same will happen here. I've included as much info as I can think of. Please let me know if I have missed anything out.

Hope someone can help.

I am running vista ultimate x64. Since windows 7 Ultimate is so expensive and Windows 7 Home premium has all the features I need, I am considering doing a complete install of home premium.

Is there a way to get the contents of the Control Panel\Programs and Features window as a text file so I can be sure I have everything gathered that I would need (I.e., find the cds/dvds to reinstall programs.)

A:text copy of Control Panel\Programs and Features window

Hello ArtK,
Welcome to Vista Forums!

If you take a screen shot with the snipping tool, that will give you your list, you can just reference with the picture and you can also print it out the same as a text file.

Let us know if this will work for you,

Hello!! I'm not really new to this vista experience and all..i have no serious problems encountered before aside from a few lags in the system when it starts or opens an application.. but just recently, well yesterday, I tried opening my system properties to run my OS in very minimal visual effects since it was running a little slow again....I was not able to open the thing after right clicking the properties window in Computer...also i have tried going to control panel... but the only thing i can see after i click on the control panel button, is a window with an empty space named windows explorer and it suddenly closed after like a second or so....also i tried also opening my "personalize" on the desktop, and it has the same response as with my control panel....

what probably is the problem with my computer?? i read that it could be a malware, but my anti-virus could not detect anything at all...

I am using a Lenovo T530 Laptop (2359 CTO, S/N: R9-VKVGV) installed on a Lenovo Mini Dock Series 3 with USB 3.0 (US/Can) (Product 433715U, S/N: M2T6345) with a Dell LCD Monitor (Model 2208WFP) connected.  The laptop was manufactured with an Intel Graphics chip, as well as an NVIDIA NVS-5400M Graphics chip.  The OS is Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, which was installed on the laptop shortly after Windows 8 was introduced and installed with poor results.  The Windows 7 Ultimate replaced the Lenovo Factory Installed Windows 7 Professional OS.  The Windows 7 Ultimate OS has been very stable.  Please note that the laptop's software has been kept up-to-date by running Windows Update automatically and Lenovo Update manually.  Windows Update is set to call for Windows updates as well as other Microsoft updates.  I have been running Windows 7 Ultimate without incident up until about one (1) Year ago. At that time, I started experiencing a pop-up window that indicated drivers were being installed, without indicating what drivers.  The pop-up window would show up without warning sometimes once a motnth, sometimes once a week, sometimes two or three times in a week.  Following the installation of the driver(s), the Dell Display would go black and the Laptop Display would become the active display.  Normally, the Dell Display is the active display in continuous use, selected by using the 'Fn' key with the 'F7' key ... Yup, it's that crazy Moose again.

And this time I'm trying to figure out the best way to make a plexiglass window for the left side of my case. It's an eMachines T3958.

And no I will not use a chainsaw, as I'm sure some will recommend!

Was wondering if there's anybody who already has done this, and if they'd offer some pointers about what and WHAT NOT to do. Best kind of plexi?

I don't wanna just start cutting away with some tin snips, then hope I come out with something that looks good.

LED fans are like $4 from newegg. I'd like to mount one of those someplace too!

Or maybe four? lol

Hello to all:
This problem just started a few days ago on my Windows 7 Professional 32bit system.

When I open a Windows Explorer window and some Control Panel windows all is good. Problem is that when I try to close the window by pressing the top right window close button or if I right click on the taskbar instance of the window and choose to close it, the program does not close but instead is minimized to the notification area with the formation of a new folder icon. This icon is a standard windows yellow folder. If I expand the notifications area and hover over that folder, a balloon window lets me know that there are 'x windows' where x represents the number of windows that have been minimized (instead of closing as I originally wanted).

Furthermore, a right click on that folder in the notification area brings up a context menu including the names of the windows (that I can click on and maximize back onto the screen). At the bottom of the context menu are the options to 'Restore all' and 'Close all'.

Not sure why this came about. Thanks in advance for your help.

Just noticed that if I click on the window close button while holding down the keyboard shift key, the window closes normally.

Download Windows Access Panel For Easy Access To Windows Utilities

Many Windows users might not like the default settings that come automatically but tend to customise or make changes to the default settings. Users who are familiar with control panel or other system utilities shouldn?t have much problem to make changes or edit the settings. However, there are still many users who find accessing Control Panel to locate the

Windows settings on their own tedious or complicated. To keep things simpler particularly for non-tech-savvy users,

Windows Access Panel offers a more direct and user-friendly way.

Thanks Reghakr,

I had come across that before, but didn't think to post it up as it is pretty basic.

Having looked at it again , I think a lot will find it useful - quicker and easier to use than the MS control panel

I have a Dell Optiplex GX270. When I press the power button, the power button light turns amber, I hear some fans spinning, and the CD drive spinning. However, it never gets to the boot screen (or any screen). If I open the case and press the power button, however, the power button turns green and the computer works fine (loads all the way up and functions like normal). If I close the case after it has started, it continues to run fine. I'm guessing / hoping it's not the mother board or power supply that has directly gone bad... but maybe there is a connection or something? that changes from when it's closed to when it's open. I've heard of something like... the motherboard is shorting out by touching the case... but I'm not really sure where to look for that / how. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

I have an Acer Aspire X1700 (Details
It's about 2 1/2 years old now. Came with Windows Vista, I upgraded it to Windows 7. Also has a newer video card than what came with it.

Anyway, The PSU fan is getting really obnoxious, it gets really loud (more or less like a lawn mower). I have taken the thing apart and have tried every suggestion given to quiet it down, which it does for a whole week or two. This is a small form factor PC, so to even take the power supply out you have to basically take out everything else just to get to it. I have looked for replacements but they are very obsolete. It's only 220W anyway, so i'd like something a little more powerful.

What I want to do is get a larger case that I can use the same hardware is (motherboard, drives, etc) and purchase a larger power supply for that case. 220W really limits the PC. The small case holds a lot of heat even with all fans cleaned and working properly. Even just taking a CD/DVD out that was in it is very hot. I want a case with better airflow than this one.
I really am not sure what kind of case to get that will meet my needs. I don't want anything really fancy. If possible I'd like to get it off newegg.com

Any suggestions would be great.
