Q: Lenovo Chromebook 300e No sign of life

The Chromebook first threw an error for OS being corrupted or non existent. I created a recovery USB and when attempting to run a recovery the machine died. Absolute no sign of life.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I bought a Lenovo 300e Chomebook but ended up returning it. I had the "Ghost Touching" issue the first day I got it and it occured randomly throughout my brief use. I also had instances where certain areas of the screen would not respond to touch at all (I had to use the mouse).  The problems never happened right away but would appear after 15 or more minutes of continuous use. Has anyone else had this problem or any other type with the 300e? I've only bought Apple computers for the last 10 years and this is the first time I ventured out and tried a Chromebook. I really like this computer and want to give it another shot but having these problems right out of the gate really concern me.

I have enabled PXE Boot and PCI LAN / USB LAN options in the BIOS but can't seem to get the new 300e device to even give the option to boot via a USB to Ethernet dongle. Is there a trick to getting this to work?

Have you checked the boot sequence on the BIOS? There is an option there to enable to boot to USB.

Hi

My PackBell Easynote E2 has had enough of my 13yr old daughters MSN , pics AND MUSIC from her phone and has given up on me!!

When I turn it on I get the PB screen then instead of loading Windows I get a menu for starting the system; either in XP Home Edition or Windows Recovery Console, if I do nothing it tries to load in XP and then all I get is a black screen with a black and white bar at the bottom! I can't even start in safe mode and none of the lights (where the CAPS LOCK and NUM LOCK buttons are) are doing anything. IS MY BABY DEAD????

Tried to load in Recovery Console mode and then realised I didn't know the Administrator password. Did press F2 and got into Admin password bit and it asked me for new password but where it said old password looked very dim (a bit like me LOL) LIKE THERE WASN'T AN OLD PASSWORD!?!.

Can anyone tell me what has happened and also, even better; how to fix it.

Thanx

Kathy

A:PB EasyNote - No Sign of Life!!!

Have you just tried hitting enter when it asks you for the admin password?

Generally unless you've set one on a home PC, then there isn't one set.

If you can get in to rc like that, select the c:\windows option and when it prompts you 'c:\windows>' type chkdsk /p /r

Once its complete type exit and reboot. If that doesn't fix it post back.

not really sure where this goes, but i figured this would be the best place out of all the others

so last night (or rather this morning at 12.08am) i set my fujitsu t580 to sleep before i went to sleep myself.

this morning, i woke up to find that its power lights weren't on despite being plugged in to a charger (which is confirmed to be connected to a working power supply as the router connected to the same extension cable is still working) and it did not respond at all to me flicking the power switch

i've tried the ol' method of getting rid of residual static (disconnect all power sources, hold power button for a minute); doesn't work. my finger was on that switch the entire time my phone was loading the "new thread" page which is no small duration

i'm quite sure it's not the power supply; my battery still had a pretty fresh lifespan of 2hours (at least for a 2.5 year old battery) last i checked a month ago and i doubt that could've depleted overnight while the comp was asleep. can't test the charger though because stupid fujitsu made a charger with a plug that doesn't fit any of the other non fujitsu laptops around the house

a little background info of my lappy: got it about april 2011, been showing signs of some fan trouble since about june last year but i only bothered to clean the fan in sept this year after fan errors started popping up. since then, comp has shown no signs of trouble other than general signs of... I recently bought a pretty old used Laptop (specifically, an ancient Toshiba Tecra 720CDT).
It didn't come with it's own DC adapter, so I ended up connecting wires from a stripped adapter onto the jack.
The only sign of life I got here was having the battery LED turn on (yellowish colour), only to turn off again a second later.
This only actually happened when I held down the on button.

I figured that it was simply trying to charge, but the wires couldn't be connected to the laptop long enough, so I took the thing apart and replaced the jack on the PSU to fit one of my many standard sized adapters.
Turning it on, I got the exact same thing.
The seller's telling me that it worked fine before he sent it to me.

I'm not an expert in dismantling or repairing laptops, but it's my guess that something got disconnected or damaged during the process.

Just in case you need it, here is the support site for the Toshiba Satellite P55W-B5112 15.6" Touchscreen Laptop.

Hey everyone,

My laptop (i'm not sure the make or model matters) suddenly died, it was working fine one minute, left the room for around 30 seconds, came back and has seemingly has no power. The machine has been running purely off the power adapter because there is no battery. There's no lights on, indicating an electrical connection; it's completely dead. I used a phase tester to confirm a good power adapter, so the problem seems to be with the computer. I don't think the electrical input socket (?) is at fault cos it's not loose.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe it has something to do with that internal coin-shaped battery?

I'd really appreciate any help because i'm completely at a loss as to what i should do next...

Thanks!

A:ZE4500 Laptop Suddenly died, lights out, no sign of life, boo

Could be a dry joint on power connector, underside motherboard try wiggling to see if you get some response, coin battery is only to retain CMOS information.

Hi, My P51 laptop boots up but does not show the lenovo sign. I'm aware of the power surge problem, where you disconnect the battery and power cord and then hold the power button for about 45 seconds.  I usually need to try this several times in order for it to work (while doing a cold reboot everytime). The confusing thing is that after 5-6 tries of what I just mentioned, the laptop eventually boots up as normal, and if I were to just restart the laptop everything would work fine. I'm not sure what exactly is causing the issue here, is it the power supply or is it a problem with the mother board ? Advice is appreciated.

Hello, I have a Lenovo 11e chromebook.I am trying to figure out the Auto Update Expiration for it.  Normally, I can get this from https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/6220366?hl=enIf you look through there, you can see there are a few mentions of Lenovo 11e with different date based on it's generation.  How can I figure out its generation?Lenovo.com's warranty lookup says its model number is 20DU0003US and its warranty expired 2015-09-04.  I have not been able to use that infromation to look this up.  I have been looking at listings on Lenovo's site and Amazon for the various 11e's trying to compare them to what my model has: "Intel Celeron N2930 processor (1.83GHz)
4.0GB RAM
Google Chrome
11.6in 1366x768
Integrated HD Graphics
Bluetooth 4.0
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 2X2 AC
4 Cell Lithium-Ion" I have not been able to find matches for any generation.  It seems sorta close to 1st gen, but it is not the same.Any help would be appricated.  Thank you.

Hi, I just purchased my Lenovo N22-20 Chromebook from Amazon. However, I am having problems getting into Recovery Mode using the instructions published here https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/1080595?hl=en-GB&source=genius-rts. When I press and hold esc + refresh, then press the power button (for about half a second)- it immediately shutsdown my chromebook, it doesn't go into recovery mode. I tried this sequence with the chromebook off and it does nothing. I tried the sequence before and after logging in too.  I also tried esc + refresh on it's own as some posts suggested just those two keys. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a different set of keystrokes that need to be used with a Lenovo N22-20? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Has any one out in ChromebookLand been able to use the acclaimed system to show picture full screen from sets of jpg files? Due to the puny memory capacity, and difficult to work with external SD card slot, I tried to connect a Sandisk Media drive. The Media drive connects very well, but the display operations of pictures is just not professional.  The keystrokes are quasi not functional or not present.  When giving the show, I need to waste time explaing the customer what to do, and the 'slides' are not full screen, but small.  The colors ARE GREAT, but that is about it. As an aisde, any one ever wonder why the letters are in lower case????  My 5 year old asked me.

We have a bunch of Yoga 300e at our school.  I love them "except" for the keyboard issues we are having.  I think we are up to about six or seven that have NO KEYBOARD or TOUCHPAD functionality at all.  The touchscreen works and the on-screen keyboard works as well.  When I plug in a USB keyboard and mouse, they work just fine.  I have tried uninstalling the device and also the driver.  I have updated the driver and that has not worked.  I have also tried a fresh clean install of Windows 10.  Nothing so far. I have sent them in for repair, but I have to pay shipping to send them in.  Not happy. What can I do here to solve this issue? Kevin

Umm... Hello? Is this thing on? Okay, here it goes. I wanted to share my experiences so far with my new Lenovo C330 Chromebook. Let me start off first by saying, this is my first Chromebook. Previously, I had been using 64-bit Intel Core laptops that I ended up wiping Windows off of and installing some flavor of Linux or another. I am a one-click, out-of-the-box type of user, so distros such as Ubuntu and EndlessOS did me just right. As for the Lenovo Chromebook C330, I love it. Although the touch screen display isn't as sensitive as other touch screen displays I've used (it doesn't take too kindly to a capacitative stylus, the ones with the rubber nib, unless you press hard which means I guess I will just be using my finger after all *sigh*), and the SD card sticks way too far out of the slot, I can get used to these things.

I haven't used my chromebook for about 3 days. It was probably completely dead. I went to turn it on and the screen was white. I hit the power button and it shut off. When I tried to turn it back on, nothing. I plugged it in and the orange charging light came on. Still nothing. Let it charge overnight until the green fully charged light came on. Nothing. I've tried holding the refresh and power buttons as well as the esc, refresh, and power buttons. I've tried unplugging it and holding the power button down and then plugging it back in. Still nothing. There is no external battery. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Just something that we as a schoolboard found out about these devices, is that they use a magnet to sense when the lid is closed.  This issue that this causes is that if you have the devices stacked on top of each other that the magnet from the device below will stop the top one from turning on.  Some of our techs had them stacked while they were trying to enroll a large number of devices.  This is just an FYI.

I google for a new battery and found this option, so my question is this, would it fit my laptop and if so would it bring about much more battery life?  http://www.chargers-pc.co.uk/lenovo-laptop-batteries-c-52_11/original-laptop-battery-lenovo-z5170-48... this is the one that is currently in the laptop:http://www.chargers-pc.co.uk/lenovo-laptop-batteries-c-52_11/laptop-battery-lenovo-z41-z51-z4170-z41... I only get around 2 hours usage, which is unacceptable, and you can see why as the battery is about the same size as most tablets which is rediculous ThanksGeorge
