T450s Unable to Start Lenovo Vantage Successfully after Windows 10 1809 Feature Update

Q: T450s Unable to Start Lenovo Vantage Successfully after Windows 10 1809 Feature Update

I noticed this morning that attempts to start Lenovo Vantage would return the following error:"Vantage has Encountered a ProblemPlease restart your computer and try again. If the problem continues, click the Install button below to install or update the Lenovo System Interface Driver." The problem persisted through a reboot and installation of the Lenovo System Interface Driver (currently running version 1.1.17.1, and am uncertain what the previous version was). The last major change was the installation of Windows 10 64-bit 1809 feature update. There had been a number of minor changes covering Windows security updates and driver updates triggered by Vantage itself since I last used Vantage. Has anyone faced this problema and know the solution? Would appreciate any advice.Happy Holidays BTW.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hello everyone here I am new here

This is my smaller PC which is an Acer Aspire X3995
Intel Pentium G630
6GB DDR3 Ram
500GB HDD

The current problem is that the Feature update to Windows 10, version 1809 amd64 2019-03 failed
Error Code is 0xc1900101

I have checked with MS Support about this issue and they say that my PC is lo longer compatible with Windows 10. The online tech I was chatting with provided me with no real support because she hadn't provided me with any specifics as to why. She had failed to answer any of my questions...was it hardware related? was it software related? If hardware related what could I do to upgrade, get better spec CPU, RAM or both or upgrade the MB from LGA1155 Sandy Bridge if software related was there a firmware issue with the BIOS or something else?

I had installed Windows 10 on a free upgrade about 2 years ago from Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit, having created a 200GB partition for the C: Drive/

Is there anyone here who can help me with my problem please?

In this first screenshot of Lenovo Vantage running under Windows 10 (64) on my X1 Yoga (1st generation), please notice where it says that I need to install Sierra Wireless EM7455 Software - 10 (64), version 7.47.4743.0105.  However, in the second screenshot, please notice where the Installation History shows that Sierra Wireless EM7455 Software - 10 (64), version 7.47.4743.0105 was successfully installed already. Everytime I boot up and run Lenovo Vantage to check for updates, it tells me that I need Sierra Wireless EM7455 Software - 10 (64), version 7.47.4743.0105 so I let it install it. Everytime I install it, the installation appears to be successful and my computer reboots, but then after rebooting, Lenovo Vantage again tells me that (1) I need it, (2) I already have it. This is crazy.  In the third screenshot (looking at Windows Device Manager) I see the Sierra Wireless EM7455 Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE-A. The fourth screenshot shows that it is disabled.  I will enable this and then retry to install the updated. I'll report back in a second posting on this thread whehter it works.  (I would leave this posting open and finish it later, but I'm afraid it woud all be lost when I reboot).

A:ENDLESS LOOP: Lenovo Vantage Tells Me To Update a Driver That Vantage Says Is Already Up to Date.

After enabling the driver in Windows Device Manager, then again trying to update, the update was successful. After another reboot, Lenovo Vantage no longer show that this needs to be updated.  I'm no programmer, but it seems to me that the Lenovo Vantage update program ought to be able to see whether a driver is disabled and to tell the user to enable it in order to allow successful of updating of the driver. My 2¢.

I recently upgraded my T450s notebook from Windows 7 Pro 64-bit to Windows 10 Pro 64-bit v. 1809. Windows 10 runs beautifully with one exception. Any Office 2013 file that contains graphics (Word document, PowerPoint presentation, etc.) looks complete garbled on the screen ? graphics are not visible, and text is scrambled all over the screen in a seemingly random way, included not just the document text but also pieces of the ribbon menus and sometimes parts of other open documents. I?ve found that if I can find the place on the screen where a graphic is hidden, select it, and apply any of the picture style presets, the graphic will instantly display normally. Sometimes if I do this to one graphic in a document with multiple graphics, it will fix the whole document. I have updated all the drivers, and done a complete uninstall and clean reinstall of Office 2013 with the latest updates. I tried disabling hardware acceleration in the Office 2013 advanced options, which caused all the Office programs to open with totally blank windows, and required some creativity on my part to find a way to undo this change. I see that Lenovo lists the T450s as compatible with the Windows 10 1803 update, but not with 1809. Is there a way to resolve or work around this problem with Office 2013, or am I stuck with it until I buy a new notebook?

Hello all! I am having some problems specifically with internet browsing of all things after updating Windows 10 pro to version 1809 that just came out. And I?m only having this issue on the Lenovo T560. I have two other laptops in the house. One an HP spectre x360 with windows 10 pro version 1809 with Firefox 65 and Edge. Both Firefox and Edge on it blazing fast. Another HP crap laptop that was like $275 new in 2012 that was my grandmothers, running windows 7 pro, with Firefox 65, and IE with an AMD 1.6Ghz and 3GB of RAM and just as fast on the web as the Lenovo T560 that I have with 12GB of RAM with a new Crucial 250GB SSD with 188GB of free space. I updated all drivers, bios, etc. Looked for settings. I?m at a loss. I open up Firefox and it?s just a white screen for like 10 seconds then the page loads SLOW, and opening a blank tab takes a little bit like it?s frozen for a second and then pops. I?ve run in safe mode. Completely uninstalled. Installed an older version. But the slowness is happening on Microsoft Edge too. When I downloaded files like drivers it was telling me that windows defender scanner couldn?t detect the file and asked if I wanted to run anyway. I?ve never seen that before so I updated settings there and it still happened. I don?t know if something was triggered because it?s a refurbished business laptop that I purchased for home use for my grandmother. But with what?s in it, a 6th generation i5-6200u, 12GB RAM, new 250GB SSD. Just sur... Read more

I purchased this used X250 (Product Number 20CMOOE5US) last week with Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit Edition. I downloaded and installed Lenovo Vantage from Microsoft Store which is built-in in the Windows 10. The Lenovo System Update utility updated several components but failed with a BIOS update. The current BIOS version listed at the bottom of the Lenovo Vantage window is N10ET21W 0.21. I tried the stand-alone BIOS update version 1.27 downloaded from https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds102288, which also failed in the same way: the error message reads "OEM check failed from BIOS service. The utility process has not completed." I also noticed this weired label in the System Information for the processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5### CPU @ 2.2GHz 2.19GHz. I guess a BIOS update would correct the processor info. But then how do I get BIOS updated? Please advise.

My keyboard backlight doesn't go on and off automatically anymore depending on how light or how dark it is.  I have discovered this happens since i "upgraded" Lenove Settings to Lenove Vantage. I never gave it much thought because it worked always. Now that it is somehow gone i am experiencing how highly inconvenient this is in my work flow.  There isn't even an option anymore in Lenovo Vantage to enable automatic backlight... Why? I have never heard of 'upgrades' that actually demote an important every day function, and add an inconvenient annoyance.   Please tell me i am missing something, otherwise there is no excuse for this horrible 'upgrade'. Thanks.

Not sure if I'm using the right term but while either of these programs are checking for updates, cursor focus is contanstly being pulled to either the app itself or the numerous background processes it seems to be opening. Seems minor but this means you literally can't multitask or do anything requiring typing while checking for updates, because your cursor is constantly being moved out of whatever you're trying to do.  This is especially a problem because of how long the scans take to run.Few addl questions: - Are these two apps doing the same thing, and if so, why are there two of them?  Just noticed the 'System Update' one today, Vantage I have had since purchase - Why are there numerous 'Setup' popups being generated in the background while these programs scan? (see photo attached). If you Alt-Tab during the process, you can see many exe / software shell things opening and closing (is this what pulls focus away?).  - Is there anyway to fix these programs so they run truly in the background?  Can't imagine it's a big ask to clean these up a bit. Thanks!

On the X1 Extreme with the latest 1.17 Bios you can set it to run in Discrete graphics only mode instead of hybrid with the Intel. (You technically could prior to this bios, but it had issues that could brick the unit). Problem is if you do a frwsh install, Vantage will always show the same "Nvidia And Intel Drivers" package as available, if I had to guess because there is no Intel and it checks for that. The driver says "Installed Version:Not Available" which makes me thing there is a detection issue. The first install works fine, but it will always show up as an avalible update untill you hide it. Installing it again and again does nothing. And you can then open the Geforce experience software and it will then update to the true latest version, but Vantage will still show it as available after and if I had to guess would break something if it installed over a newer version. On a test fresh install, changing it to Hybrid and installing then changing back seems to work, but if you start out as discrete, it always shows that already installed update untill you ignore it (so this likley wouldnt of shown up in their testing as their systems were likley hybrid origonally).  Just a heads up to anyone and hopfully someone who can address this sees it. Also if anyone knows a better place to just simply report bugs like this in a way where it can actually get past level 1 tech support and submitted to someone who can address these issues id love to know it.

Hi, I recently was prompted to do an optional update to the touchpad driver via Lenovo vantage. Since then the custom settings for the touchpad have reverted to the generic windows mouse settings. There used to be options to turn off taps, gestures etc. I have set the touchpad to low sensitivity for taps but it's still too sensitive when using the touchpad and it often clicks on things I don't want it to. I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled based on my serial number and still the same. I'd have thought this is how it is but knowing that I used to be able to turn things off like taps, then this is why I am trying to find a solution. So far haven't had much luck with support via Live chat with Lenovo or via email. Can someone help? I need taps turned off and want to be able to access those settings like just recently.

I was having significant issues trying to perform the feature upgrade from 1803 to 1809 via Windows Update. Apparently, the Update database was somehow corrupted and was blocking the process. I had to download the ISO file from the Windows Support website and then install the upgrade via that means. Interesting, I did not have to burn a DVD to perform the operation. The upgrade from ISO process is built-in to the Windows 10 system which I found to be awesome. I also fixed my Intel Wireless LAN driver that could not be upgraded as well, again via a manual driver process.

Hope this helps.
