I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I was looking in my Device Manager the other day, when I noticed something odd: there were two devices related to Lenovo Power Management.   I looked at the properties of both of them and this is what I found:  The first one, "Lenovo PM Driver", is the one that shows up for download on the support page for the Lenovo T430 as it matches the version number. I have no idea what the second one "Lenovo Power Manager" is, at nothing with its version number appears on the website at all. Does anyone know what the second one is and if should it be there?

A:Lenovo PM Device vs. Lenovo Power Manager

I do not know if it SHOULD be there or not BUT I show the same 2 drivers with the same 2 version numbers on my X1Y3.  By the way Lenovo Power Manager was installed by windows 10 Update not through Lenovo Vantage for me.  Looking at windows drivers update on my laptop I traced it to the below link.

The latest driver and dependency software DOES NOT WORK correctly.   I can manage battery 1 or the internal battery, but I cannot manage battery 2. Once I get the driver installed.   I change the following in the registry.ChargeStartControl                            35 (decimal)ChargeStartPercentage                     35 (decimal)ChargeStopControl                           100 (decimal)ChargeStopPercentage                    100 (decimal) The changes made here ONLY EFFECT battery 1, battery 2 will not charge above 85%. Now after intalling the Lenovo Settings tile and looking in the power area,  it shows that battery 1 is set correctly.  Battery 2 is set to start changing at 101% and stop charging at 150%!!!!   I cannot find these numbers in the registry. Better question is why doesnt lenovo settings have a hook to make adjustments to battery management!!! Frustrated!!!    This works find in windows 7, windows 8 Lenovo drop the ball.

As By default, There is no Lenovo Power Manager in Windows 10 in Lenovo G50-70. So I was searching through Web and found this Support Website https://support.lenovo.com/in/en/solutions/ht103535  and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-10/Power-Manager-for-Windows-10/td-p/2113645/page/3 which States that Laptop Running Windows 10 (G50-70) Support Dual Mode Battery Firmware. So, Is this Information Right and we should not worry regarding Battery Charging just like we used to Threshold Charging in Windows 8.1 via LENOVO POWER MANAGER. I want clarification over this.

I have Thinkpad W550s running Windows 10 Pro, upgraded from Win 7 Pro. The system tray has this battery icon.?When I right-click on it, I am offered "Launch Power Manager". In Windows 7 this opened a Lenovo app with some interesting capabilities, such as charge/discharge limits when on AC power; however, these capabilities did not often work. After upgrade to Windows 10, the Lenovo app no longer works. Sometimes it brings up the app splash screen and just freezes there. Lately it doesn't even bring up that.Does anyone know how I can simply get rid of this battery icon?

I have a two week old Lenovo X1 Carbon 20A7 and from the beginning after simply got Windows7 initial setup with nothing else on, I noted that if I left it to go in sleep or Hibernate, when the lid was closed, upon opening it again, the notebook screen was black although the adaptive keyboard was active and the machine was pingable from the network. No matter what I did I could not get the unit to come back to life so I always had to press the power button until it power cycled to get it back. I noted that I was not alone out there and some reported the issue on earlier X1's Support suggested to send it back and were not helping much. They decided it is either hardware or configuration issue, and in both cases it required a return.  Because the issue was reported in the forums on earlier X1's I decided that it was probably software and I started by disabling all sleep modes only to find out it would still go to sleep. This is how I found out that if the sleep mode was disabled in Power Manager, it would automatically enable in Windows version of the power manager. Disable it in Windows and it would enable in Power manager... yeah - exactly; I had the same reaction.. Same thing with other power functions. So I de-installed Power Manager 6 and bingo, no more issues. But now I get non critical warnings  in Lenovo tools that I have no power manager software installed. Plus I don't get the extra features that are useful in PM6. ... Read more

Everything I've read says that these two programs have major issues with Windows 10 and could be the source of my problem. Try opening Control Panel / Uninstall a program and uninstall the Lenovo Energy Management / Power Management Software,
   Restart the system if prompted.

If  after the installation you were able to see a shortcut icon on your desktop,

Hi everyone; this is my first post here. I purchased a T450 (Core i7/Nvidia Graphics/SSD) last September here in Korea and upgraded to Windows 10 shortly thereafter. For the last few months (not exactly sure when it started, but I think months after I upgraded) I've had 2 system problems that may be related. #1: In my Windows power settings the computer is set to NEVER sleep when the computer is plugged in, yet sometimes (and I'm never sure when) it goes to sleep after only one minute of inactivity.  I thought maybe it happened only when the battery was charging, but this is not the case.  Resetting seems to fix the problem. #2: When I attempt to open Lenovo Power Manager 8 the application crashes and can't open.  I need to use the task manager to end the program. Has anyone else had these problems?  I'd really appreciate some help on this. Regards,Chris

Both batteries 9 cell and 6 cell had full charge, tried my other Lenovo charger... no go. A surge couldn't have happened as the laptop is plugged into same strip as my other lenovo laptop is and that one is working fine.

A:Lenovo Ideapad Y410p won't power on... No power light?

Hi jack61 ,

Greetings.

We now know, power drain failed. No LED error codes , No beep codes
No activity lights even with battery charging led.
Not turning on even with known good charged batteries.
No power even with known good ac adapter.

What we can try:
Try plugging it directly on the wall and press novo key (number 1 page 7) to turn it on instead.
Check if the power port shows any signs of burnt / damage / looseness .
Press Novo key using a charged battery.
Remove battery, harddrive , memory and other accessories and plug directly with a known working adapter and or with a charged battery ( it should at least beep).

If all fails , you can have it checked for the motherboard issue with a technician (checking on the internals /cleaning or reseating parts connected to the board / applying thermal paste (for processor isolation) / checking on dc in board and port).

You can check for your warranty here and call in tech support for service.

Regards

Hi, I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 510-15IKB that has developed some issues.  I took it apart to replace a faulty fan module, and put it back together and started having issues with video to the display not working.  Took it apart again to reseat all cables and look at the display cable and its connection to the mainboard.  All looked fine... and the notebook started fine and I had the display working again.  Then after a power recycle lost the display again, so took the notebook apart again, and found that if I removed the main power to the mainboard and reconnected it I could get the display to come back, but only until I recycled the power to the computer again, then it was gone.  Decided to just live with the notebook display not working and just use an external display via the HDMI connector, which worked fine for a few days... then the notebook just shut off.  Now it will not power back up... the AC adapter is good, verified via multimeter, I have tired to power up the notebook with the battery disconnected, no-go, with it connected, no-go, I do not get a charge or power indicator at all anymore.  I think the notebook should power up with the internal battery disconnected, yes?  It does not.  I looked in the Lenovo maintenance manual, and these symptoms point to a bad mainboard.  I can't believe that it could be bad on such a new notebook.  The fan going bad after less than a year I can live with, but loosing the main... A:Win 7 Power Options or HP Power Manager ??

HP Factory Install is the worst possible install of Win7 one can have, larded with bloatware and duplicate utilities which interfere with better versions built into Win7. That's why most tech enthusiasts won't even run such an install but instead Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Everything needed is in the blue link to get and keep a perfect install just like a million others have done without a single complaint.

If you'd rather first try to clean it up you can try these steps to Clean Up Factory Bloatware
but HP is the worst of all brands for its bloatware so if you ever want to experience native perfect Win7 performance on that machine I'd do the reinstall.

I just purchased a Lenovo Ideacenter 330K desktop and I have run into a problem with the audio manager.

The system is using a standard Realtek Audio chipset and it has front and real audio jacks but the problem I keep running into is that unlike other realtek control panels, the Lenovo doesn't allow me to split the front and rear audio jacks.

The only advanced option that it gives me is to disable detection of the front jack.

There is no reason for this functionality to even exist. Realtek allows to split the two devices with it's audio manager but I can't find the files I need to remove and I have already tried to update the files which is supposed to uninstall the old driver package and install the new drivers but the audio manager is untouched.

Any help would be appreciated.

A:How do I remove Lenovo HD Audio Manager?

Generally, the vendor supplied drivers are the best to use as each vendor customizes the software to how they implement the hardware. If you use non-Lenovo drivers there is a possibility that everything will not work correctly with the RealTek - this isn't with every vendor but most.

I have a strange issue. I have a Lenovo T60 laptop and I am experiencing problems with the power management/power guage.

It will often show the battery not installed (power gauge is a greyish-white color with dashed lines) or it shows a red X. It does not matter if I am on AC power or on Battery power, it will show the full range of power, battery level, not installed, or an error.

I have searched Lenovo's site and I seem to remember seeing an FAQ about this, but now that I need it, I cannot find it.

What can I check or do to stop this? While it is annoying, I am not sure if I am having a battery problem or not. I did check my battery on Lenovo's site to see if it was recalled and it is not.

I do appreciate any help that any one can give me.

Thanks!

My battery had recently died and I haven't had the time or money to buy a new one. My Dell laptop, which I only bought not even a full year ago, still works as long as it's plugged into a power source. The problem is, and it's the biggest nuisance ever, is that the Dell Power Manager Lite notifies me all the time that my battery isn't working or something along the lines of it. It's extremely annoying because it pops up every few minutes or seconds even and interrupts important things. I've done everything I can to try to turn off the notifications, as there is no real option to turn them off. I can't uninstall this program as it's nowhere in my files. Control panel has no way to uninstall it either. I am stuck with the most annoying popup notification. My question is, how can I turn off power manager lite notifications or uninstall the program completely when there are no straight options?

Hi, I'm running a T61P, Win7 Ent/SP1. System Update repeatedly showed Power Manager 6.67.5 as available after repeated successful updates. I DLd the update and tried to run it manually, but it kept telling me there was an earlier version of PM installed, and did I want to remove it. I said yes, and it seemed to uninstall (and reboot), but trying to run the PM update kept showing the "previous version installed" prompt. I used Add/Remove to uninstall both PM and the PM driver, then searched the registry and removed all references to PM from there, then sarched the hard drive and removed all PM files I could find. I still can't install PM. It's still telling me that there's an earlier version installed. I tried downloading and installing previous versions of PM back to v3, but I still get that frustrating "previous version" prompt and can't get beyond that. Please does anybody have a way to get past this prompt? GaryK

I'm not sure if the problem was just an incompatibility with a Windows update, so I'd like to give LEM another shot. On the official Lenovo downloads page for my serial #, there is no LEM software available under Power Management.  What version of the software should I be running? Ideapad G710Windows 8.1 64-bit Thank you!

This would happen with no warning or the screen would flicker moments before the laptop restarts. This does not happen every day when I use the laptop however when it does happen, it will keep restarting until I shutdown the laptop and sometimes I would even have to remove the battery. The laptop will run with no issue for a couple of days and then it restarts again.  I contacted Lenovo Support 12 March 2016The representative accessed my laptop remotely, installed Lenovo Solution software and ran diagnostic tests with results showing no heating issues.Issue not resolved - was advised to use the laptop and phone in if the issue happens again. 15 March 2016Contacted Lenovo Support - Access laptop remotely - Issue not resolved1st Service case opened: 8006757559Laptop sent to Lenovo Repair Center 28 March 2016Laptop returnedRepair Report- Fan was replaced- Operating System Reloaded The issue was not resolved and I contacted the Lenovo Support on numerous occasions, where I had to explain the problem every time I phoned because the representative could not see my previous phone calls on the system and I had to explain the issue from the beginning. After ru... I have several laptops connected to a domain. Changed domain password successful. Lock windows then swipe finger print. It immediately login to windows without a pop-up window to enter new password. Shutdown my laptop and then swipe finger print and now it prompts to enter the new password. If don't enter my new password, it won't let me login. Tried to shutdown again and swipe fingerprint. Again, it still asked for the new password and I entered it correctly several times. still it won't go directly to windows desktop screen. I always need to enter new password after swiping my finger print. This is really frustrating and hopefully someone who can help me on this.   Lenovo X240/X250/X260Finger Print Manager Pro V 8.01.87Windows 7/8.1 Enterprise 64 bit

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

The Lenovo Settings app for the Lenovo laptops doesn't have an adjustable threshold that I am aware of.  The 60% is preset.

Hello everyone! I got my new Lenovo v310 only to find out that I can't take the battery out so if I want it to last for long I have to take good care of it. I did some research and I couldn't find a power manager that could help set the battery to charge only till 70% in order to preserve it for longer. Can anyone help me out?

A:Powe manager for Lenovo V310 windows 10

Hi Assen,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Built in application like Lenovo Setting and Lenovo companion do offer power management features.
Once you have it updated it would soon update the software to the new Lenovo Vantage for Windows 10.
You can read this document to know more about it.

Once you have it instralled after a fresh restart, you can navigate through hardware setting and click on the Power button where you can change the battery threshold to your liking, else keep the recommended defaults for battery conservation.

Other ways to take care of your battery here on this article.

Hope this helps answer your query.
