How can I transfer iPhone SMS messages to my Mac? ?

Q: How can I transfer iPhone SMS messages to my Mac? ?

I want to transfer my old iPhone SMS conversations to my Mac.

How do I do this? Is it even possible?

I came across two programs but can't get either to work. Once is by Tansee, but I think this is only for PC. The other is called Syphone, but when I click to download on their site, it says the page can not be found.

Does anybody know?

I've thought about taking screen shots of the messages and then pasting them together with some photo editing program...but the tedious nature of this turns me off. I have a string of 300 text messages in one conversation over time that I want to email to someone.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just got the new iPhone 4S and I have a 3GS as my old phone with no way to transfer my contacts. I was told I could save a backup of my 3GS to itunes, then load the backup onto my 4S.

Well my 3GS won't backup, it keeps saying "iTunes could not backup the iphone because an error occurred" without any error code. I've wiped my old backup, I've cleared sync history. I'm using a PC with itunes with the latest itunes version 10.5.

What can I do to get my contacts over to the new phone?

Using Windows XP, where does iTunes store the backed-up iPhone files?
(I assume they are associated with iTunes) I am looking for Contacts and messages.
Once found how can I print them so that I can enter them one by one on a different phone?

A:iPhone Contacts and Messages

You are going about this the wrong way. You can sync or backup your contacts on gmail contacts. Open a gmail account (its free) then (with phone connected to your PC) go on iTunes under Info and select Sync Contacts with Google Contacts. Presto! Your contacts are now online. Then, you can sync your next smart phone to Google Contacts. You can do the same with Outlook, but that is not free, but if you do it this way, you can export your contacts out of Outlook and print them out as you wish.

I need to transfer 2 game apps from my old iPhone 6 to my new LG K20 plus Android to retain my progress on both games. They're both related, in order to earn points on the 1st game .. I downloaded the 2nd game through the 1st game app.
I also have a laptop running Windows 7 and a 3rd phone which is an android also, in case they will help with the transfer. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A:Transfer iPhone game apps to Android phone

I think iPhone and Andriods have different OS architectures. Thus transferring the app from iPhone would not run on the Andriod.

If the games are online games, your game state might be saved online, and there might be no need to transfer. Just download the Andriod version and sign in. See if progress is the same.

Have a friend who's had a lot of problems with her e-mail. Finally got it mostly straightened out, but she now has two identities, only one of which is able to send and receive mail. It happens to be the one with the most messages, which is good. I've tried setting up a sub-account on Verizon Central (she has Verizon DSL) that uses the e-mail address and password of the account that's not working, but it still doesn't work. She does not really need two identities anyway, so we were thinking the best way to solve the issue is to import all the messages (about 100) from the non-working account to the working account. How can that be done?

A:Transfer messages between identities

Hi DKTaber

Start Outlook Express with the Identity you want to keep:
File > Import > Messages > Microsoft Outlook Express 6 > Next
Select/highlight the old Identity to Import it into the new Identity.
OK > Next > Next > Finish

Could use some help please. My wife and I are switching ISP which also unfortunately means switching email addresses. A:Transfer email messages as a group

If you're using Microsoft Outlook, simply alter your account info for the new server and continue using it. You're old messages will still be there. Just in case something might go horribly wrong though, you might want to at least back up your current Outlook .PST files.

I have an hp pavillion laptop running vista with win mail & a desktop running xp prof with oe6. I have been trying to copy my old email msgs from oe6 to win mail just to have them on both pcs. So far unsuccessfully. I exported the dbx files from oe6 to an external usb hard drive; then connected the hd to the laptop & tried to import from win mail by browsing to the
location of the copied files. Each time i do file/import/messages from win mail & navigate to the folder that has the dbx files from from oe6 it says that there are no mail files there. I am following microsofts directions exactely. I wonder if my winmail file
extensions are wrong. In the winmail folder they are:

BTW I also tried the transfer wizard

I cannot transfer my messages from Outlook Express to Windows Mail. I copied all of the DBX files from my old computer running XP to a thumb drive. Using the import function on Windows Mail, it does not see any of these files when I go to the directory on the thumb drive. I have read several processes online and they all say this should work. I have moved my contacts over ok but cannot seem to get the old messages over. Any help would be appreciated.

A:Solved: Transfer Messages From OE6 to Windows Mail

I downloaded the dbx files to my documents folder on the new computer. I went to the "import messages" on Windows Mail and there they were ready to import. I had some new e-mail on the old computer running Outlook Express so I deleated the moved files and moved the newer ones over (my mistake). I'm back to the old problem where Windows Mail will not see the files again. I made sure they are in an a accessable location and that none are in the "read only" mode. I am doing everything the same that I had done to get them there before. I makes absolutly no sense that it worked one time and not the other. I suspect that maybe somehow the folders.dbx file may be corrupt as this seems to be the most important file to have. The only thing I did was to copy over the message files that contained about 4 additional messages I wanted to import. This is getting very frustrating when a process works one time and not the other. I actually never imported the messages the first time but with the files at least showing up, I think it would have worked.

I did try copying the folders titled outlook express on my old computer onto my new one but it didn't work (although i think i missed one anyway)

I have figured out how to individually save the messages as text files, so can save them that way, but is there a quicker/more efficient way of doing it?

Would be great if i could just copy the lot with accounts already set up etc, but main thing i want to do is save the messages, so anything that will acheive that is all i really need (& ideally quickly as my old hard drive is pretty dead and i don't know how long it will hold out for before the CLUNKING is replaced with nothing)

Also my old computer is set up on Windows 98. When my friend FINALLY remembers to get the disk for me, my new computer will be on Windows 2000 i think, but could be XP, so i'm guessing that could also effect what i'm able to do with outlook express transfer stuff.

I have used Easy Transfer via a network cable to copy my email messages from OE on XP to Windows Mail on Vista. (NB. Initially I first copied all settings and data from XP to Vista via Easy Transfer - may have been on 2nd July ??)

I have thousands of messages in there, but when I open Windows Mail, it will only list messages up until the 2nd July 2007. I have tried this on many occasions - even manually copied and pasted the whole folder with .dbx files from XP to Vista.

Any help appreciated

A:Solved: Dilema with Easy Transfer and OE messages

I had a similar problem when I received my new computer with Vista. I copied all the OE files to a folder, but when I tried to import them, they weren't there. What I found worked was to go to the folder options and click on the view tab. Under Files and Folders, make sure the radio button for show hidden files and folders is checked. When you go to import your older OE data, you now will be able to see the files and it will work without a problem.

A:How do I transfer .csv email messages file to Windows Mail

I've used the .cvs file to import contacts into Windows Contacts, but I don't think you can do it directly into Windows Mail. You could try downloading and installing Mozilla Thunderbird. That can import .cvs files. I say just use it but if you really want to use Windows Mail, then maybe you can import your messages through Thunderbird. Try this:

Windows Mail (Vista)

* Export from Thunderbird: Export the messages as .EML files using the ImportExportTools extension.

Hello everyone,
My boss asked me to transfer single email messages from her husbands outlook to her's. I want to be able to do this by just adding the message or folder of message to her inbox. I do not want to overwrite her inbox(cause i'll get fired). Is there a way to copy just selected messages from one profile's outlook to another?

Thank you all for your time and Input.

A:Trying to transfer single email messages without overwriting outlook inbox

One option would be to copy the PST over and open it as an additional data file under her profile (separate from the inbox).

You could also use export to file and import into a new folder created on the destination machine.

I am running Win7/Pro x64. My System Spec is in my Profile.

I do not have iTunes installed on my desktop. I do have an iPhone 5, a hand-me-down from my son.

Yesterday the phone needed to be charged. I attached it to a USB port. I was asked by the phone if I trusted my desktop. I said yes. I was told that there were no new images on the phone to import, a fact I already knew. I've encountered this dialog before. It seems to be part of the procrustean Apple way of computing.

What troubles me is that a process started about the time I plugged in the phone. At a rate of 5-10 files/sec the 'modified' date was changed on over 3,500 jpg files on my data drive. I've not analyzed the order in which they were processed but suspect that it was A-Z on the file names and also on folder names.

Could this behavior result from iTunes running its 'sync' process? If so, is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening again?

If we have no Apple OS experts on this forum, does anyone know of an 'Apple forum' that is as respected as sevenforums is in the Windows world?

A:Email inbox show loading messages. Unable to view messages

You have not said what browser you are using so I will just give a guide using IE8.

The most common fix for this problem seems to be to delete your browsing history, cookies, etc. With the browser open click on Tools, Internet Options, then select Delete under Browsing History, on the next page uncheck all the boxes and click on Delete. Give it a minute or two to complete and then reboot the PC.

This will have deleted all your saved passwords so you will have to enter and save any you use.

This address will go directly to the mail page, if you get stuck, and you could also try using the refresh button.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.. I didn't really know what to put it under..

I was upgrading my system, from XP to Vista. I tried the 'keep all my current files and settings' option for the upload, but it wouldn't let me use it.
So, I used the file and settings transfer wizard to transfer all my files to my external hard drive. Then I deleated my files on my computer - no point in having two copies. (I now know how stupid this idea was).
When I had successfuly uploaded Widows vista onto my computer, I found that it didn't actualy have the files and settings transfer wizard - it had something called 'Easy Transfer' instead. Easy tranfer is incompatible with the File and settings transfer wizard.

So, now all my files are sitting on my Hard drive in .dat files, and I don't know how to get them back.

Help me please.

A:File and Settings Transfer Wizard vs. Easy Transfer

you could download and install FAST to complete the transfer. i know that solves the problem when migrating from one XP /SP combination to another, perhaps it will work for an XP to Vista migration too. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...c9-f16c-4c52-a203-8daf944dd555&displaylang=en

I saved my files and settings from a previous installation of windows 7 to an external hard drive using windows easy transfer. Now when I try to transfer those files and setting to my new installation I get the following message:

Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer your files and settings.

The message pops up only a few seconds after the transfer begins.
Why is this?! I need those files and windows has screwed me. Everything is basically the same as before I reinstalled. Same computer, same windows 7 installation just recovered to factory settings. Same system language as before. BTW I'm on a Toshiba L505 laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium.

I have tried all the usual suspects such as a clean boot and uninstalling my antivirus to rule out third party interference. I have reinstalled the OS twice just in case something went wrong there. I have clicked on the .MIG file directly. I have 2 PCs, both running XP Pro SP2.
One is mine and one is my wife?s.
Both are connected to a Linksys BEFSR41 v3 router which is then connected to a cable modem.
Both can connect at high speed to the internet.
Both are on the same workgroup and have unique names.
They can see each other in the workgroup.
They can ping each other.
I can browse all shared drives in both directions from both PCs.
Everything seems to be working perfectly except if I try and transfer a file from my PC to my wife?s it takes approx 2 minutes per MB. However if I transfer a file the other way it works flawlessly and at high speed.

I have checked that all the required services are running and that there is only one master browser.

I have changed all the cables and tried different ports on the router.

NetMeter shows a maximum transfer speed of about 250kbps and the networking tab in task manager shows a network utilization of only 1%

Any advice would be gratefully received, as this is slowly driving me insane.

A:Slow file transfer in one direction, quick transfer the other way!

You should try data transfer using something other than WInbdows Networking. Set up some FTP server software for example. This way you can see if the problem is with the network or with Windows.

Disable software firewalls and antivirus on the computers?
