Preferred Solution: stop google remembering

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have an account on a website that is quite important; it is a https site. It remembers my username and password, so I went to Internet options and deleted the history, passwords, cookies etc. I also edited the options to "don't remember passwords or data entered into forms etc" but the problem still persists. The people who manage that site told me it's not a problem of which they are aware either.

I would try a different web browser but neither chrome nor firefox seem to support all the functions of this site. If I am missing something obvious or if anyone has anything else worth trying please do let me know......thank you.

My Aol settings are to delete history /cookies etc. on exit and in IE8 too, yet every time I sign on to Aol an old web page opens and other history has been saved.

I've manually deleted everything yet it still doesn't change the outcome.

I found a small utility prog called History Sweep which is a trial version supposed to sweep clean Aol but even that didn't work as when I rebooted, the same sites were there!

Does anyone know of a more aggressive cleaner that can be set to work in the background and auto clean history without having to do it each time I sign on/off?

Hi
I'd like to make it so windows explorer (not IE, I'm talking about the file browser) doesn't show suggestions when entering locations in the address bar. For example, when entering C: in the address bar, all the most recent locations are listed (for convenience I guess). Let's just say that this convenience could become a big inconvenience...lol

cheers

A:Stop windows explorer remembering locations?

Hi, I spent ages looking for an answer to this but I simply can't find one (mainly because Google seams to think Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer are the same thing).

However I have found a possible work around.
The following thread details how to clear Windows Explorer history Clear Windows Explorer history in Windows 7 - How to , it recommends using CCleaner available from CCleaner - Home
Hope this is of use.

There must be a way to permanently disable this, I will keep looking.

Using Eventghost I have setup a command to open a Video folder on monitor 2 (HDMI connected Sony Bravia)
I also have installed and use Display Fushion to manage my monitors.
My problem is that Windows Explorer seems to want to remember its last opened location so that I now find even if I open any other folder on my PC it displays straight to my TV screen (Monitor 2).
Only after dragging the opened folder back to my PC monitor and then closing it all other folders open as normal on my PC but also the programmed Eventghost macro video folder. This fails to open on TV unless dragged back to TV and then I?m back to the problem again of all folders opening on TV.
I basically just want Eventghost to do its thing without Windows then remembering and making all future folders opening on Monitor 2 (TV).
Hope I?ve explained this clearly enough.

A:Stop Windows Explorer remembering the last monitor is was opened on

Solved my own problem so though I'd write for others just in case.

Installed free software called MultiMonitor, this gives the option of creating a command line to switch connected monitor off and on.

When in the off state folders open normally on PC, switch monitor back on and the folder dedicated to open on connected monitor still does.

Folks

On my work computer whenever I use google to search for something it retains what I have typed so that when I begin to type initial letters a string of past requests drops down, which is distracting. I know it is there to save me having to retype common requests but.... I'm not that busy and it is a nuisance. Is there anyway I can disable this function?

Look forward to hearing how to do it.

Hi,

I've set to clear all history when quitting the Google Ghrome browser, but it is still recognized them so far.

I really did this with MS IE and FireFox, so all history is removed after quitting the browsers.

So how can I do this with Google Chrome?

It would be quite greatly appreciated if you could help me with this.

A:Google Chrome is still remembering history, although set to not do.

When you say History, what exactly are you seeing even after changing this setting? Try to be as specific as possible because what you're seeing could be controlled by a different setting.

I need help in getting rid of all of the annoying pop up ads that continuously pops up, I googled the sponsor of the ad and I seen multiple replies saying it was a program that was downloaded on the computer, I can't find any new or programs that don't belong to see the difference. Two months ago I upgraded to the free Windows 10, I am sure that's most likely the time I started to see the pop ups from any click on any website. These are the websites the ads clicks to addsonjet.com & regnok.com, sponsored by Royals. I want to know what would be the best solution to rid of these pop ups, I currently use google chrome as my web browser and I have tried to use many ad blockers from the chrome web store to stop the pop up ads but nothing seems to work. I use Bit Defender as my virus protection and I see no help from Bit Defender to stop it in which I am sure its not suppose to help stop them. I also have added these websites to my pop up ads to block under the google chrome setting and nothing. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me to help me out on this. Hello,

I've been noticing this problem for a few weeks. I click on Google search results and am directed to different ad sites. Most of the time it goes to 63.209.69.107. I have Webroot Antivirus and Malwarebytes which I have been running and updating constantly. I also ran TDSSKiller and Combofix in safe mode in effort to fix the problem myself. The problem seemed to go away for about a day, and then began to redirect again. I didn't run GMER because I could not click the boxes that were supposed to be checked. System, sections, IAT/EAI, Devices, Modules, Processes, Threads, and Libraries were grey and unclickable. I know most of those were supposed to be checked, so I just skipped GMER.

Please help! This problem is annoying and I'm worried about what's being accessed on my computer! Thank you so much for your help!

You bet, Google has a lot of settings you can change, the easiest way is to use the Search Tools button to get to it:

Then you click on Any Time and set the date range.

There's also Advanced search: https://www.google.ca/advanced_search

For work, i keep google account A open on Firefox so I can use hangouts in gmail, and google account B open in Opera so I can do work on my youtube channel.

Until recently, that is. Now, when I log into account A in one browser, it forces the other browser into that same account. This is ridiculous and screwing up my job. how do I fix it?

I've deleted my cookes and have extensions running that limit cookies as much as possible without actually preventing me from logging into anything.

A:Google Accounts has taken over my browsers. How do I stop it?

I'm not saying that what you've reported is not true, but I will say it makes no sense under uncompromised conditions.   Different web browsers can and do operate completely independently of one another.

I would definitely clear cache in both of your browsers, as you could have corrupt browser cache.  [Do a web search, the exact mechanics vary by browser.]

Also, you might want to consider running a manual antivirus scan and an antimalware tool such as Malwarebytes or Zemana Antimalware.  The fact that things are "jumping browsers" makes me very nervous that something nefarious might be going on, but I can't say that this is definitively true.   It never hurts to be thorough, though.

Is it possible to stop google images from redirecting to websites when I click on a picture in the search results? I know there are webmasters who engineer the redirection on their end, but hopefully I can be taken straight to the images on at least some websites. I'm using Firefox and I've tried several add-ons. The only one that seems like it might be able to do the job is called NoRedirect, but it requires regular expressions and I don't have enough familiarity with them to do something this complicated.

So far, I have it set to disallow redirects from the source ^http://images\.google\.fr/, but that has no effect at all, so I'm stuck.

If I search for Nikon camera equipment on e-bay, then it matters not what other sites I visit, there are Nikon ads in the margins. If I search for zero-turn mowers on Google, I get zero-turn ads everywhere I go.

Is there a way to stop this? I even see this in my Google searches. I'm tired of Google and my browser failing in their predictions of what I want to see. A lot of what I search for is a one-off for a friend or a customer for things that I, personally, have no interest at all, yet I see the pollution left from it for days or sometimes even weeks.

Before I get into the problems I am having, I am new to this website and am relying on it as my last hope to fix the problem I am facing. If I post anything I shouldn't post please correct me. I have had good experience with viruses and malware and am used to cleaning them but this one had me worked up for days!

OS: Windows Vista Home Basic, Service pack 2.

Here is how it started and the problems I am facing, hope you can help. Thanks in advanced.
Computer has been running normally for a long time and then all of a sudden after a friend used the laptop I started facing a few problems. The first time I noticed something was wrong is when Windows Firewall kept popping up after every exe program was opened. It kept asking me to Block or Unblock the program. I ignored this issue as I thought it was just the firewall playing up. I then noticed that my AVG has stopped working and wouldnt let me update. I thought I'd remove AVG and install it again. Once I tried to do this a virus (serious rootkit I believe) was stopping me from installing it. I immediately tried running Malwarebytes scan and it started normally but then a few seconds into the scan it disappeared.

I then restarted my computer and ran it in safe mode. The same thing happened, scan started and then got stopped by the virus. I'm using Firefox 8. I keep getting a purple window that opens in the upper right corner of my browser. It seems to show a temporary list of Google items. The last one I saw was Double Click and Google Analytics. Both items had a strike through. Sometimes this list has 6 or 7 items in it with some items with the strike through and some not. There seems to be no way to turn it off when it is in the way, so I just have to wait for it to disappear. Can anyone tell me how to stop this. I see no use for it what-so-ever.

This is on my Mac. Don't remember ever seeing it on the PC, but not sure as I use the Mac most of the time.

Thanks
Peg

A:Solved: Stop purple window - looks like from Google

It seems you have Ghostery installed; http://www.ghostery.com/ It tracks the things that websites use to track you and which you normally aren't aware of. The fact that some of the items you see are struck through indicates that Ghostery is set to block those particular 'web bugs'.

I have it installed in my Opera and Firefox browsers and block everything because I don't want to be 'served' with 'interesting' adverts etc. by the people whose sites/pages I visit.

If you don't like it, you can go into the 'Tools' option in Firefox and click on 'Addons' then 'Extensions' where you should find an option to disable or remove Ghostery. Alternatively, you could click on the 'Options' tab and uncheck the 'Show alert bubble' box or reduce the display time from the default 15 seconds (at least that's the default in my copy - maybe the Windows version is different?)

Ok here is the deal. Pretty simple.

Every search in Google comes back normal. Until I click a link. It then redirects me to some place I am not requesting. addoubleclick.com seems to be popping up in the status bar and then it zooms me to some weird site.

Example:
Search - Discount Gun Sales
click link
result:
wind up at - Paintball FunTime Party Palace

Sound familiar?

Not sure even how to start attacking this. Multiple virus scans with Search and Destroy, Spyware Terminator and Super Anti-Malware is proving to do nothing.

Any help I thank you in advance!

So the situation here in Thailand is pretty bad to say the least. Now I?m trying to show my friend a map of our area on www.maps.google.com. One my computer which has W7 Pro the towns come up in English, however on his computer the names come up in Thai and I can?t see how to change them to English.
I assume that it?s something to do with his W7 as his was installed here by a shop, it?s a genuine copy as far as I can see. I think that it?s the basic copy, I need to re-check.
Can someone point me in the right direction.......thanks

Thanks in advanced.Computer has been running normally for a long time and then all of a sudden after a friend used the laptop I started facing a few problems. Sometime within the last couple f weeks my Google Earth has started acting strange. Whenever I open it, it goes to the global view screen as always, but doesn't go to my starting point. Also, it automatically zooms out to the farthest setting. It will zoom in if you double click the mouse, but unless you hold the mouse button, it immediately returns to full zoom out. Something else new, is a white arrow with a small line under it on the start up screen. Clicking it does nothing.
I don't remember changing anything or doing anything that would have caused this. Is it possible that it automatically upgraded itself and its having problems with Win7?
Does anybody have any idea what to try here?
Thanks

Whenever I would go to a site and type in my user name and a new pin, xp would prompt me to remember the pin, so that if I clicked and my user name came up, my pin would automatically be entered.

Now, when I go to Fidelity Investments, I click, but no user name comes up. When I manually enter, no reminder to save the pin comes up either.

When I go to other sites and click, my user name and pin come up.

I don't know if it is a Fidelity site thing, or if I need to do something else.

I did check "autocomplete" in the "content" tab of tools in ie6. and everything is checked.

Any ideas? Thanks!

A:re-remembering

Go to Tools > Options > Privacy > Passwords tab > View Saved Passwords button > Passwords Never Saved tab, and remove the site from the list. Then go to the site and when the options box appears, save the password for this site.

You might need to tick the Remember Passwords box under the Passwords tab for this feature to work.

Hi guys !

Recently ( Last week ) I found that sometimes my Google search got redirected. It was sending me to : www.google.ca/webhp or something like that. Sometimes, I have strange popups which close automatically because of Ad-block, and something really strange happened too, there was a popup, and the Web address was actually an ip, whit a blank screen. After making a quick search, I found that it was a virus, and I wasn't able to remove it. Now, the 3/4th of my search are redirected, I'm getting alert that a Virus tried to update Firefox, it's happening almost twice a day.

I think that maybe someone is connected to my computer. Internet gets slower, and looks like someone is downloading on my computer, as a background downloading.

Here are the files. Have a nice day, and thank you !

EDIT : My antivirus is disabled, because a virus disabled it. I think it's the same thing for the firewall.

I have an old XP machine with an Athlon XP processor and received the above notice when putting chrome://version in the address bar:

"This computer will soon stop receiving Google Chrome updates because its hardware is no longer supported"

After searching it has been confirmed that Chrome 35 and later will require SSE2 processors and newer.

So, just a heads up. If you have an AMD Athlon XP or any processor that does not support SSE2, no more security updates for Chrome after version 34.

https://codereview.chromium.org/193493005

Edit: As noted in the link, same goes for Mac 32bit.

A:This computer will soon stop receiving Google Chrome updates

The solution for this topic, is that you need to use a version of Chrome older than version 34, because newer versions do not support regular SSE. In fact if you visit the Google Chrome page and try to download it today, it will completely fail to install.

So, if you can do one of two things: download Chrome 33 (or use a Windows XP computer with a SSE2 based processor), the message will not appear.
Google does not have an archive of old versions, and using a place like Filehippo will in fact direct you to the newest version.
The last full installer for Chrome that I have is Chrome 26 digitally signed by Google in February 2013. You can download it from my FTP.After installing, make sure you also overwrite update the Flash player (pepflashplayer.dll) located in C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\26.0.1410.5\PepperFlash.
The included pepperflash.dll is 11.6.602.167 which is obsolete. You can also download the regularly updated pepflashplayer.dll from my FTP. You should download this file to your desktop and then paste it into the folder I mentioned above, overwriting the old pepflashplayer.ddll file. When you first paste it you will still see the old version number but if you close the folder and start Chrome, you can visit Adobe's web site and verify that the updated version is in fact installed.
Flash Player is a main cause for many forms of viruses and malware, so even if your browser is a bit ou... Read more

Good Evening,

I am having a similar problem as others have posted about with rogue Google Chrome processes (Nteibgrnv.exe*32) appearing in my task manager and bogging down my computer.  I cannot stop the processes, cannot remove the folder where they are coming from, cannot find anything with either Norton Internet Security or Super AntiSpyware.  I could not delete the folder where they were coming from unless I went into safe mode but then the processes reappeared when I booted back into normal mode.

Can someone please help me deal with this?  I am pretty computer literate and will try to follow instructions as best as possible.

The DDS.txt log is pasted below.  The Attach.txt log is attached as instructed.  Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

I also encountered a profile issue and I lost all my saved username and passwords in IE. My IE 8 is now not asking to save usernames and passwords and it had in the past. I have searched the internet and everyone says make sure it is set up to remember username and passwords... by going to Internet Options > Content > AutoComplete> Settings. I have all the boxed checked. I have triple checked it. I looked in the IntelliForms in the registry as another website suggested and nothing is there.
