Preferred Solution: Internet explorer keeps opening to weird website

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Internet explorer keeps opening to weird website

Download L2MFix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts. Then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing Enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening. After a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 or any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

I am getting error while opening Intranet website and not able to expand all it's menu options. It is working fine in IE6 . I have tried compatibility view in IE8 but still those menu options are not accessible.

Looks like a programming error on their web site. Try FireFox that may work until they fix the site and you can also report the error to them.

So I recently re-installed windows 8.1 pro and I've been noticing that when I open file explorer or anything from the win + x menu I get maybe a second (probably less) delay that's not there if I were to search for it or open it basically anywhere else. File explorer has a delay no matter where I open it, but if I were to open one of my recent files from the jump list, it opens quickly. I know this seems like a weird and trivial issue but I just wanna know if this is normal or not.

A:I get this weird delay when opening file explorer or anything from the win + x menu

Okay well it seems my file explorer is kind of faster than it was before so nvm I guess

Google has been redirecting, google images will only load a certain number of images and internet explorer opens randomly, when I do not even have it installed or use it. Also, phantom music/ads/speaking play when no programs or windows are open. I have run rkill, MalwareBytes and TDSS killer with no infected files being found. And that's where the extent of my knowledge runs out! You guys have helped me fix everything else, but now I finally need to post as I cannot finx this one based on other advice.
Much appreciated,

I am running a PC with Win XP SP3 (32Bit) with Avast Free 17.8 as primary real-time AV, complemented by MB Anti Exploit Beta 1.11.1.45 and MBAM free 3.3.1 as an on-demand malware scanner. I am using Slimjet as my primary browser, Windscribe as VPN, Secunia PSI 3.0 as software updater and Windows Firewall is enabled . All data are backed up on Zoolz and Google Drive.

Since yesterday this system has started behaving weirdly.

It started when Secunia PSI asked to check my internet connection, was not able to connect to the update server and was unable to scan files. After a couple of reboots, it came online again and now it's working fine.

Thinking it was an issue linked to the firewall permission, I tried to open the internet option tab in control panel and - here is the problem. Internet Options would not open, not even using the inetcpl.cpl command. A quick browse pointed to a malware infection.

I ran MBAM which found hijack.host, which I quarantined. A second scan with the rootkit option showed zero infections. I also ran Avast which found Rogue.Win32fakeAV(A), that I also quarantined. A second scan showed no issues. Reading through various forums, both detections may be false positives.

Other Malware scanners (Emsisoft EK, FRST, Rogue Killer, Junkware Removal Tool) showed only PUPs, PUMs.

Interestingly enough, I was unable to run MS Malicious Software Removal Tool (Win XP Version... Read more

Quick update.

1. I found that I was unable to use MS Malicious Software Removal Tool because I was using a non compatible version. The latest XP Version works just fine, although it did not find any issues.
2. A bootscan this morning using Avast found a VBS: Malware-Gen in a folder linked to system restore (quarantined)

So, the main issue here seems to be the fact that Internet Options does not open.

Look forward to receiving your feed-back.

Thx

I know the problem isn't with ezboard though because i can get on the site on my college campus computers. My computer downstairs and this computer both won't let me access any sites on ezboard. I use Windows XP SP1. HELP ME PLEASE! I've tried hp recovery to see if that works and it didn't. i can't delete internet explorer either. there isn't the option on the add/remove programs list to delete IE.

here's my hijack log.

Your log is actually clean. Here's a couple tools to try, let me know if they work in resolving your problem.

Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Go to this site to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. To run this tool, go into Ad-aware->Add-ons and select VX2 Cleaner. Then click Run Tool and OK to start it. If it's clean, it will say Status System Clean. Otherwise, you will have to click on the Clean button to remove the VX2 infection. Also make sure to customize the settings in Ad-aware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds.

Download WinsockFix and unzip it. Then double-click on it to run it.

I was at my friend's house and connected his ethernet cable to my laptop. I checked my email and downloaded a document file and along came a scareware? I'm not really sure how a virus or scareware came into my laptop. It was a fake antispyware soft program. I used Superantispyware and another Mareware removal program to try and delete the virus/scareware. I think these two program did the job, but now my Internet Explorer won't work. I think it is something I did with these two programs, but I'm not sure. This is my hijackthis log below, can anyone please help me solve this problem? Thank you.

Hello everyone,

Recently i have purchased a new web design for my web hosting company website, the website template was ok at the start but after i customised it everything went pearshaped, i use the built-in HTML editor in cPanel which is a web hosting control panel to edit my website viewing it from Mozilla Firefox, everything looks ok and the website was getting on great but when i went to view my website on Internet explorer everything looked messed up the text was everywhere the images where misplaced, so i though this is just my PC playing up again so i asked my friend who has both IE7 & IE8 Beta, it was roughly the same, i don't no what to do anymore. Any ideas how i can fix this?

Thanks

Hello,

Recently my internet explorer 7 started launching itself and go to unknown websites : its not a normal launch since its only visible at the task manager procces page and the websites didnt show in the history file.
As I have experiance using my PC I begun doing everything I know.
After Having my computer scanned with many anti malware/spyware proggrams including - Malwarebytes,RogueRemover,Kaspersky,Avg and few more. I failed to find what was causing this and why there isnt any history records of this.
Doing some more research I found a program to view the contents of the explorers history file (IEHV) what I found is that the explorer goes to this site :

tibia-inject.com/ping.php?id=68085&conf=uwp33&infid=1375893814&infname=lol (DONT CLICK IT!!!!!!!!!)

So far I have failed to remove this but I suppose its some sort of keylogger for the game tibia. I have zemana Antilogger but it doesnt catch this 1.
All of my attempts to remove it or finding information on the web on how to remove it have not been succesfull all I found are known rogue program sites so I obviously avoided them in order to not get anything even worse.

If anyone have encountered a similar problem or can refer me to a topic on how to remove this horribly nasty infection and willing to share it here please do.

Thanks

Windows XP Pro-IE8:

Gentlemen and Ladies:

I have an issue I have been trying to solve without success. I have used and opened a sports website for years called bleacherreport.com which also sends me daily sports updates in several catagories through emails to my outlook express 6
mail client.

For some unknown reason recently, none of my 3 browsers (IE8/Firefox/Google Chrome) can open Bleacherreports.com and when I get the emails from Bleacherreport.com (which I still receive daily) and try to open one of the articles in the daily update,I get the following Security warning Window in IE8 which is my default browser:

THE CURRENT WEBPAGE IS TRYING TO OPEN A SITE IN YOUR TRUSTED SITES LIST. DO
YOU WANT TO ALLOW THIS?

CURRENT SITE http://.b.bm.324.com

TRUSTED SITE http://bleacherreport.com

YES - NO

Warning: Allowing this can expose your computer to security risks. If you don't trust the current web page, choose no.

I CHOOSE YES,the window closes and I get the mesage -INTERNET EXPLORER CANNOT DISPLAY THE WEBSITE!

What gives?? I know this is an active site--Why won't my computer allow me to connect. I have removed Comodo Internet Security and have kept the Comodo firewall and replaced the Comodo antivirus element with Panda antivirus which has cured some some other issues I have experienced but that didn't resolve this problem.

Please take a shot as this if you can--would really appreciate the help!

Respectfully,

manofmarin

Hi,

I recently made a website using Microsoft Publisher and then I edited it with a 30-day trial of Dreamweaver....I've put it on the web...it seems to be working great with firefox but on internet explorer its slow, images take a very long time to load, the page is off center, etc., here's the link to the website...thanks for any help!

http://www.hep.upenn.edu/Quarknet/summer2008/index.htm

A:My Website Works In Firefox But Not Internet Explorer.

Hmm, if you're seriously interested in creating websites you're probably better off learning HTML, CSS (&Possibly Javascript)... Using publisher is probably not the best of ideas, and i've never been impressed by dreamweaver.

If you're interested in learning HTML then i suggest the tutorials here: www.w3schools.com which can guide you through creating w3 standard websites...

As for the problem i see no reason that it should be lagging on one browser and not on the other. And your images are relatively small so i really don't see the problem.

Cheers,
Jamey

End users access a website and normally after they answer security questions for the website they can check "remember this computer" and they will not be prompted to answer them again. Since changing to Windows 10, when the end user goes to that
website, even though they check the "remember this computer" option, they are prompted every time to answer security questions. The vendor said that it is nothing on their site. Is there a setting on Windows 10 or IE 11 that is doing this?

Hey, this is an odd problem. I Have two computers connected to the wireless netgear router and my desktop connected directly through the cable.

Now I can access the internet just fine, get on games like theres no problem. However there is one website that I can not access from any three of the computers. I think its odd.

I was on one of my games earlier, I said to a friend. "Hey how long has basilmarket.com been down."

The reply was odd, "It's not, I'm on right now!"

So why could the server for the site still be running and all my friends view the page but when I go I get

"The connection has timed out

The server at www.basilmarket.com is taking too long to respond.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

I don't understand why it would just be me.

I cleared all my cache on two of the computers and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

Yesterday I did a clean install of Windows 7 RC. I don't have any problems with this thing on other machines.

However if I go to the website www.weblogzwolle.nl I don't see the entire website. Has this got something to do with my screen? Or with Internet Explorer 8?
What I am missing is basically the side bars of the web page.

Thanks!

Edit: on another machine running the same Win7 RC and IE8 I can see the web page perfectly!

Hello Plantje,

I seem to be able to see that website without any problems. You might see if using Compatibility View with the site may help. If not, then see if resetting IE8 may.

My desktop computer runs Windows 7 Pro x64 with the latest updates. When I try to open a certain website in Internet Explorer, IE would crash and display the "Internet Explorer has stopped working" message. The error indicated something wrong with MSHTML.DLL.

Using another browser (Chrome and Firefox) to open the website is fine; it will crash when it's opened in IE. Using IE to open other websites is OK too, just one particular website is having problems (if anyone wants to try, the website I am having issues with is https://payroll.payworks.ca).

I am running IE version 11.0.9600.18697. I have tried opening the website on Internet explorer on a computer running Windows 10 and it doesn't have this problem. So this issue seems to be happening on my Windows 7 computer only.

I have also tried using Internet Explorer no add-ons to open the website, but the same problem occurs.

I have used NirSoft AppCrashView to get the event details of the Internet Explorer appcrash, and I hope someone can take a look and see if it could be a driver or DLL that is corrupted:

I dont know why, but every now and then I get this message when I try to access the website I look after.
It says OOPS! Internet explorer could not find (the web address)

I contacted my ISP and the web host when it first happened, and both said they had no problem with it. My webhost gave me some sites, such as proxy servers to try, and sure enough the website was up. Just I couldnt access it.
It drives me crazy. I cant go in and update the site as it Internet explorer for some reason doesnt find it.
Yet in a day or so, it usually comes right.
I have cleared the cache, the temporary internet files, deleted the cookies and the browser history. I have turned off Norton and none of that made any difference.
I ensured ssl 2 and ssl3 were checked.
It only does it with the website I am monitoring.

Any ideas please??

A:OOPS! Internet Explorer could not find my website

I Just fixed it, I saw this answer on another site

Go into IE Tools, click internet options, click advanced, click on Restore advanced settings and also on reset.
You then have to close IE and open it again.
when the Welcome to IE 8 box opens, I clicked cancel and did not choose any of its options. Now I can access it again. YAY.

Hope this helps someone else.

As for spyware, ran upon it, got rid of it with Ad-aware and Spybot S&D.

The problem?

I'm not sure if it is the after effects of a spyware cleaning, or not... but I've been having a LOAD of trouble lately with internet explorer.

1.IE wants to download things to TEMP. Things such as EXE's are warned against, and there is no way to uncheck it to NOT warn me. If I hit open, it downloads to TEMP, and auto-opens. Zips, they didn't even ask me, they just auto downloaded to TEMP and opened. I fixed this however by uninstalling winzip 9.

2.Also, php files, I try to run a small apache server with php just for testing some code, and it wants to auto download php! I've tried opening the PHP files and setting them to open with IE, but it wont display, it just wants me to save the file instead of view it.

3.I try to uncheck the option to show the dialup monitors in the system tray, but they wont hide. The flashing is irritating

4.I've managed to delete the things in my TEMP directory, but there is one file that wont delete. It is called "~DFF93B.TMP" I've tried booting into safe mode to delete it, but it still is put back as soon as I do it. I'm thinking this might be the problem.. but it may be something safe. I really don't know.

All I want is to be able to download with IE without it telling me "FILES OF THIS ARE DANGEROUS..BLAHBLAH.." (the check is grayed out to tell it to stop asking me, ... Read more

H this is my first post here. I am running windows XP SP2, and earlier today when i rebooted my computer and tried to open I.E it did not open at all. This is very strange as it usually take IE about less then 30 seconds to open. Now i am on the internet using another browser and when i try to click on My Computer icon on the desktop, the desktop refreshes and does not open the My Computer Icon. Now it is strange because it opens exe files from desktop.

What should i do, and is there any opinons/thoughts on how to remove it? BTW i am running 2 scans, Windows Live Safety Center, and SpyHunter.

Let me know,
Thanks

Hello. This is my first time on this website so hopefully I am doing this correctly. I am currently using Mozilla Firefox as my default browser because there were so many pop-ups and glitches with my Internet Explorer (i.e. my wireless keyboard and mouse would not work properly with IE). However, recently, while I am on Mozilla using the internet, my Internet Explorer opens on its own directly to a pop up page. The home page (which I have set to "aboutblank" is not opening. The longer that IE is open and I dont realize it, the more tabs open with more and more pop ups. I have listed all of the sites as "Restricted SItes" but they are still able to open. I have the pop up setting as block all pop ups and it is constantly happening. I now have the IE set on "Work Offline" and for right now it is a temp fix but how can I get this to stop? I have scanned with Norton and it found nothing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this is naturally driving me crazy!! Thanks for your time!

Try using another spyware scanner, Spybot S&D, AVG, SpyWare Terminator. As for your IE, just disable it. Simce your IE opens on its on, that tells me that you have some kind of adware or spyware on your computer and it will eventually get to Firefox.

I have a strange problem. Running I.E. 6 and 7 I have a couple internal databases that require logins on different ips on our internal network for example 12.10.x.x would be one if I type the ip into the internet explorer address bar IE" http://12.10.x.x It gives me error 400 bad request. I can leave the http:// off same thing. However if I go to start run and type iexplore 12.10.x.x Boom comes right up no problem. However set a favorite and try to reaccess it does not work gives me the same error 400 bad request.

Any ideas as to why it will let me open them up with start run but not from the IE address bar. As for right now. Im using firefox as a work around but I really dont want to install it on 500 plus computers.

Thanks!!

A:Internet Explorer 6.0 not opening at all

Hello ims to TSF,

A couple of suggestions here:

1. Try installing Mozilla? Firefox as a web browser, and see if that helps to get you onto the Internet.
I am fairly certain that Microsoft? have ceased supporting IE6, and most websites have been upgraded to accept only the latest editions of all browsers.

2. You really need to Update your Windows? XP SP2 to SP3 + plus all the security updates; furthermore, the latest version of IE is IE8 for XP or IE9 for higher versions (like Windows?7).
There are a number of updates for Windows? XP including a newer Service Pack 3.
At a rough guess it will take you perhaps 2? hours or more depending on the speed of your Internet connection to download and install these important updates and fixes.
Not updating your Windows? XP is leaving you open to vunerability to malware/viral infections.
What Anti Virus program are you using, and when did you last; do an update of its definitions; and run a full system scan, or do you not have an AV program installed?

Please post back with this information.

Kind Regards,
