Preferred Solution: errors found in sfcfix, need those files

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Glad I found this place. I found that potentially some of the updates could have corrupted some of my windows files (thanks to you all for the heads up). Here's the summary below. A:Ran SFCFix.exe the corrupted files; need help with manul fixes

Hey all,

I really need the help, here. Please take a look at what I've posted. I ran a few programs from some other guides and cleaned up registry with CCleaner. Right now comctl32.dll is missing. I found a site to download that file and replace it-my windows will not give me permission. I free up permissions-it claims that file is being used elsewhere, but I can't find the source. A lot of my programs won't respond because this important set of files isn't available and I can't find clearer explanations, or those that seemed relevant were also given as computer-specific examples and wouldn't apply to me. Please, please, take a look here or tell me what else you need so I can get my machine running again. Thank you.

Hello,

I have some issues with my Windows 10 Pro OS. So far, there are few problems I am facing and they are as follows: (For now)
1: When I put my PC into sleep mode/hibernation, every time, the PC auto wakes up at 2:00 am and at 1:00 pm (UK time)
1.1: This is another issue with putting PC in sleep mode/hibernation. whenever I put PC into sleep mode and then I try to login back it works good but after every 4 consecutive sleep modes/hibernations and sometimes only with one sleep mode/hibernation, the PC won't show up the login screen. The monitor screens just goes black and moving keyboard/mouse or doing anything won't help and I am forced to press the restart button or must completely shutdown and boot again in order to be able to use the PC again.

So in summary, the PC is limited only to sometimes 1 time and most of the times 4 consecutive times sleep modes/hibernations and must be restarted or shutdown.
2: Recently I tried to run SFC /Scannow but the scan stops at 62% and gives the following error message:

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 62% complete.
Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

I also ran SFCFix and attached both SFC and SFCFix Logs.
3: Since Windows 10 Anniversary Update, I tried many times to update my Windows via ISO (download the correct ISO) about a month ago, I wasn't been able to update the Windows.
The update runs fine up un... Read more

A:corrupted SFC scan and failed sfcfix.exe

Hello Macari and welcome to Seven Forums.

It's been reported that several Windows Updates starting in May 2015 have caused people to experience corrupted system files after running sfc /scannow.

I'd try uninstalling all updates from May and June. Then try running the sfc again. If it works (no integrity violations found) then you'll know one or more of the Updates was responsible for the corrupted files. You could try reinstalling just a few at a time and run sfc after each group. If sfc runs successfully install the next group. If the sfc shows corrupted system files after running the scan you'll know which Update(s) were at fault. Uninstall those few updates, and install just one at a time. Run the sfc after each install until you know for sure which Update(s) is causing the issue.

Hoping that in one of these numerous errors is where my problems about 100% system resource use is coming from.

Hello pbowman, is this where you d/l'd the program CleanUp http://cleanup.stevengould.org/ or are you referring to another program? If the program I mentioned is the one ,all was needed was to reboot pc after scan was finished for files to be deleted.

To be perfectly honest, I really did not understand what it said but did another restart and the computer started without any issues. I did a system restore anyway - just in case and still the computer is running fine.

So just to be sure, I ran sfc /scannow and it found errors that it could not repair. So I came here and read the directions and did the sfc /scannow 3 more times and copied each log as well. It was still finding errors that it could now repair so I followed the directions as per the following:
If SFC could not fix something, then run the command again to see if it may be able to the next time. Sometimes it may take running the sfc /scannow command 3 times restarting the PC after each time to completely fix everything that it's able to.

If not, then download and run the 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) System Update Readiness Tool for your same installed 32-bit or 64-bit Vista, restart the PC afterwards, and try the sfc /scannow command again.

SFC /SCANNOW STILL FOUND ERRORS.

before going any further, I thought I would check before going any further. I did the system restore to before the updates as well as running the sfc /scannow multiple times and running the system update rediness too... Read more

Tried to upload the .txt files from the sfc /scannow results again, by following the information at vistax64.com/tutorials/289032-screenshots-files-upload-post-vista-forums.html but there is no upload button as shown in step 7 from option 2.

I did click on the paperclip again and it shows the 4 .txt files so I selected insert all. I hope that they are in fact attached this time.

hi freinds
my computer is jamming and have bosd
and i run memtest86 from the dos
this is the picture for the test :

A:when i run memtest86 i found 41 errors:(

Never a good sign. If it is more than one stick run the test again on each stick individually to determine which one is bad.

Also double check that the ram is running at the correct specs (voltage and timings) by comparing what is shown in the bios against the manufacturer's specs. If the sticker with the model number isn't readable this (main site for it is overloaded at the moment),

Download CPU-Z 1.54 - FileHippo.com

should be able to tell you the model number (and the recommended timings, etc).

If after all that and it is still getting the errors you can try bumping the voltage (vdimm) by one notch in the bios and see if that helps get rid of it. If all that still fails then it is time to see what if any warranty the ram has and either looking at getting it RMA'ed, or replacing it with a new stick.

Last night while I was browsing with FireFox, my zone alarm alerted me to a virus that was quarantined and also of several attempts by a program called tup.exe to access some host over the net. I denied the requests from zone alarm to allow the tup.exe to do anything. Then I went and found tup.exe on my hard drive. It was running and appeared to be some kind of virus checker scam with a screen showing my computer was contaminated. I immediately did an end task on the program and then deleted the tup.exe and removed it from the recycle bin. I ran a full scan with zone alarm which found one low ranked infection and quarantined that. When I try to run programs now, I either get application not found or I get a prompt titled "Open With" and then a list of programs to use to open it with. If I right click on a shortcut or program and choose run as administrator, it will open and run fine. This happens in safe mode too. I would like to determine how to run programs normally again.

Hello,

I am having a problem with my Mozilla Firefox Browser. When I attempt to go to a large number of sites including: Facebook, Google, Yahoo Mail, YouTube, instead of going to the site, I get one of two blank white page that say either, "Welcome to Nginx" or, "404 Not Found." I found a way around it and searched Google, and it seems that I have some type of malware that is hiding itself from my antivirus software. Could someone please help me with this problem? I have tried doing a system restore, uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox, and nothing worked.

Does anyone have a clue where I should start looking for the cause of Page Not Found errors? They are random, and usually pop up when I am doing something important online, like trying to pay a bill, etc. LOL Usually the second try goes through, but not before I have to start all over.

I am using Windows XP SP2 and am limited to dial up for internet access.

I can post a Hijack This! log if needed but I use several different anti-spyware programs, and use Avast! for anti virus.

This problem just started two or three months ago and I can't link it to any new installs, etc.

Any ideas? I am all ears! LOL GBU Moonifa

Hello all. I'd first like to say that I've been searching similar issues and tried many fixes before I registered to ask for help. The PC:- HP Pavilion a810n- Windows XP Home Edition- Samsung SP1604N HDDThe Problem:- My system seemed fine. I did have alot of programs AutoStarting that I didn't use regularly, and I knew the system could possibly run quicker, but it wasn't an immediate concern. In short a friend came over last Sunday and suggested disabling items via msconfig - Startup, which I knew of but didn't want to touch for fear of disabling something I shouldn't. However we did, hit apply and restarted. My system would not reboot. Also, F8 would not bring up the Safe Mode Option.- I tried repeatedly to boot and hit F8. No success.- Finally I searched on the family PC and saw a recommendation to repair XP with the XP CD. I went through the process hitting [enter] and selecting the Windows currently installed for repair and went through the process all the way through with entering the key and all. - Windows actually came back up, however it was SP1 and I started the process of downloading SP2. After the reboot, once again it wouldn't bring up "normal" Windows, but I could hit F8 and go into SafeMode. Can't remember much after that other than attempting the repair again, and got stuck in the, "XP setup cannot run under SafeMode..." loop.- The last error I get now when trying to enter SafeMode is a stream of: multi(0)disk(... I'd suggest backing up your data immediately. The Ultimate Boot CD should have tools to either burn a CD/DVD for backup or USB support so you can backup to an external drive.Once that's done, I'd suggest using a tool such as HDD Regenerator (~$60 US) or SpinRite (~$90 US)A less expensive alternative would be to use the low level format option with the Samsung utility (more info here: http://www.samsung.com/global/business/hdd...port_HUTIL.html )Sometimes when a drive starts spitting errors out you can fix it with a tool like the above - other times the errors will keep recurring and you'll have to replace the drive. Until you figure out which case is yours, you stand the risk of losing data each time that you use that drive - so it's your call if you want to keep trying or go with a new drive. Should you decide to stay with the old drive, I'd suggest running the Samsung Hard Drive test periodically so you can catch any further errors in the early stages.

Hello!Short pre-story:My computer has been slow for a couple of weeks now. Some of the symptons of an infection were: 1. googleads tabs were being opened in my firefox window without my volition 2. svchost.exe used a great deal of Mem Usage (upto 150 M) 3. Firefox used a great deal of Mem Usage (still does) (upto 210 M) 4. My computer became unbearably slow. I had a free antivirus software called Avira and I suspected that it wasn't doing the job. I uninstalled it and bought a product called BitDefender Total Security 2011. As soon as I finished installing it (this required a reboot), I tried to scan my computer. The first two scans failed to complete due to some sort of error. I restarted my computer, attempted to scan again- same problem. I wrote to their support team and attempted to get it working. Finally it managed to complete a scan- it cleaned out 2-3 problems....I shrugged my shoulders and carried on for several days - until my I noticed that the svchost.exe system process started acting crazy- I had two or three of these processes running simultaneously and using up to 90 M Mem Usage each! I shut down all my programs and attempted to run a BitDefender scan. It claimed my computer was clean! I updated my MalwareBytes antimalware solution- and performed a full scan. It resulted in the removal of several infections and a huge number of items were placed into quarantine.I cleaned out the infections and deleted everything that was in the quarantine. As a... Norton Internet Security: Cfgwiz.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point...........same as the others.

Thought it might be a Norton problem so uninstalled through Add/Remove programs and installed McAfee. Error I got when I tried to access McAfee Security was

Mvtapp[1].exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point.......

Uninstalled McAfee and tried to reinstall through their website and again by disk and got

McAfee CD Setup: CDSetup.exe Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point....

Uninstalled McAfee again and reinstalled Norton got the same Norton error.

The Norton internet security is not working and am having to rely on Windows Firewall.

This error has also come up when accessing other programs.

At first glance, it appears to me that many of these errors come about when user is attempting to install/use older software on XP. But there are other causes: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330159But this seems to fit you: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/04/16/p...k-library-file/Louis

I have I decided to run the sfc /scannow on my systems at home. They are Windows 7 Pro and Home 64-bit. But one of my systems came back with corrupted files; a Pro system.

Now the system does not exhibit any issues in the everyday work, but nonetheless errors. I tried looking at the log and I cannot make heads or tails of it other than there are some failures which I do not understand what they mean.

All the systems have the same Microsoft updates except this one system; this last October rounds had one missing while all my other systems had an update (which I will find out exactly which one).

Can someone see my log and see what's going on? I also attached a screenshot of the SFC error. Thanks

Trying to fix a friends laptop that was pretty bad. Cleanup up various viruses\malware using avast, spybot, superantispyware & malwarebytes.

All of the above show clean now. Problem: EVERY single EXE that is run causes a pop window:
<APPLICATION.EXE> - Unable to Locate Component

This application has failed to start because msrorqlnllx.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

The funny thing is after hittinh OK the many times it asks, the apps run fine. I have searched the web for this dll and I get no hits at all. Any help would be appreciated.

Stew.

A:msrorqlnllx.dll was not found errors for all apps

Hi and welcome, this ought to help you out.Its not unusual to receive such an error after using specialized fix tools.A "Cannot find...", "Could not run...", "Error loading... or "specific module could not be found" message is usually related to malware that was set to run at startup but has been deleted. Windows is trying to load this file but cannot locate it since the file was mostly likely removed during an anti-virus or anti-malware scan. However, an associated orphaned registry entry remains and is telling Windows to load the file when you boot up. Since the file no longer exists, Windows will display an error message. You need to remove this registry entry so Windows stops searching for the file when it loads. To resolve this, download Autoruns, search for the related entry and then delete it.Create a new folder on your hard drive called AutoRuns (C:\AutoRuns) and extract (unzip) the file there. (click HERE if you're not sure how to do this.)Open the folder and double-click on autoruns.exe to launch it.Please be patient as it scans and populates the entries. When done scanning, it will say Ready at the bottom.Scroll through the list and look for a startup entry related to the file(s) in the error message.Right-click on the entry and choose delete.Reboot your computer and see if the startup error returns.

It looks like you have some major corruption in the CBS store...
Almost the only content of your CBS logs is multiple instances of the following error sequence...

Code:

Please copy the C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS file (no extension) to your desktop and then compress it - upload the compressed file to your favoured fileshare site (preferably Dropbox or OneDrive) and post a link.
If the copy fails because the file is in use, then reboot to Safe Mode, and try it from there.
