Teredo IPV6 Pseudo-tunnelling interface.

Q: Teredo IPV6 Pseudo-tunnelling interface.

Question.

I accidentally uninstalled my Teredo IPV6 Psuedo-tunneling interface. I figured it would re-install itself after a re-boot like many built in drivers do, but it did not. I have googled it trying to find a suitable download source, but no luck. Is there any way to re-install, or find a source to download a replacement driver, maybe a link.

Preferred Solution: Teredo IPV6 Pseudo-tunnelling interface.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Teredo IPV6 Pseudo-tunnelling interface.

Are you using IPv6 to connect? If your not sure then your probably not. IPv6 really isn't used yet so its not a big deal. It causes more headaches then its worth.

But if you really want to re-install it go ahead. This thread states typing this into the command prompt then rebooting the machine: ipv6 install

Then after it is installed just disable it, don't un-install it.

A:bsod teredo tunnelling pseudo-interface driver keeps restarting my computer

The teredo tunneling driver tunnel.sys is a very unlikely cause for a BSOD because Microsoft is the author of that driver. We're looking for hardware failure or an issue with a 3rd party driver. Please zip up the dump and attach to your next post.Just curious - why do you think teredo tunneler is involved?Regards. . .jcgriff2

So through some research I found out that Teredo is no where to be found on my computer. I used the ipconfig/all method and Teredo doesn't even come up. It is also not listed in Device manager after I enable the option "show hidden devices". I've tried nearly everything and it's getting really frustrating so can someone please help me with this problem?

A:tered pseudo tunnelling interface missing

Hello & welcome to sevenforums,

Sometimes you'll have to reboot more than once for that interface to be set. Make sure you have Residential Network and/or set homegroup.

You can do either a SFC /SCANNOW to try repairing the Terodo TP-Int. after that.

If you are having issues setting up a home network as I did with Win 7 you might want to try this guys solution. Worked a treat for me,For solution click hereI spent about 10 hours trying to get Microsoft Teredo Tunnelling to work as I did IPv6 but kept getting the same issue. It showed it was there and active yet nothing worked. I followed the instruction at that link, (A little involved) but the problem is fixed. I can now access my PC from the laptop and vice versa.Just thought I would share this solution as there are countless hits on Google regarding this issue.it really should not have be this hard with all the so called experts at MS and their flashy new Win7. Don't get me wrong, I really like the operating system but it just shouldn't have such basic bugs especially when the hype for Win 7 Pro is that it makes networking easy! If this is easy I would hate to see tough. And if you are a lucky one whose network set up without hassles I am just jealous but google the problem and see how many forums are full of this problem yet MS win7 forums it hardly raises a metion.

I'm sure everyone has head about it before, but I've seen as many solutions as there have been questions about it.

My TTPU seems to be malfunctioning. I'm getting a code 10 error... unable to load the driver. Trying to update it has failed, as it simply tells me I have the latest version. At the moment, it's disabled, but I have no idea what it does for me, so I'm worried about having problems leaving it that way. ...of course, since it wasn't working in the first place, maybe not.

How should I go about fixing this thing? If there is a solid, known way to fix it, can someone please post it here? One fix I tried before getting nervous was editing the registry, but the directions given didn't actually lead to where they were supposed to lead, and so I never changed anything.

If anyone knows a good way to fix the driver for this device (or at least to make the system load it properly) please post here. Thanks.

Hello, could someone help me / give me some indications, i notice in the device manager that uneder netword adaptater a device has is disabled and the message is This device is disabled. (Code 22) Click Enable Device to enable this device. If I enable it the message is This device cannot start. (Code 10) Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. But the Check for solution does not provide any answers. I've read the tech documentation on MSoft web site, but that does not help me to understand what prevent this device to be started. The system is running under Vista Sp1, ultimate, with 3Go Ram and a 2.2mhz Centrino pro processor. Best regards

A:Teredo Tunneling Pseudo interface

Don't worry about it - that is used with IPv6, which is not widely used, yet, and it cannot start because your computer is not running IPv6 because (most likely) your router / modem does not support IPv6.

I am helping a friend that has Windows 7 clean his computer.  It is a Toshiba Satellite.  It has 4 gigs of ram and is 64bit.

The problem I am having is that it will not go on the net wirelessly.  He is not able to get on the internet wirelessly but can with an Ethernet cable.

I went on line and read to go to the Device Manager and then to Network.  Expanded it and it was suggested that I uninstall (not delete) the Teredo Tunelling Pseudo Interface.  I went into the device manager and found that the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo Interface is not working.   have done that and after restarting it no longer shows under Networking.

After restarting the Teredo is gone and the other Network adaptors appear to be working.  I am not able to get on the internet wirelessly.

I have looked all over the net and can't seem to find a way to correct this.

Any suggestions would certainly be appreciated.

Thanks!

Im trying to install the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo Interface in the Device Manager. I have found a very temporary fix which is changing the value of the registry DisabledComponents under tcpip6 to 0, but once i change the value it takes around 5 to 10 minutes for the computer to go into a BSOD. Once i change the the registry value back to the default, there are no crashes whatsoever, but without Teredo no online features will work in Forza. Id appreciate any help i can get towards this issue. Im really am stuck.

if not then

Start > control Panel {Vista set to classic view}> system > {Vista, device manager on left hand side} {XP hardware Tab, device manager button} >

Hi there!

Following poor internet advice to fix another problem, i uninstalled the Teredo Tunneling pseudo interface and I cannot install it back. I have looked to see if it is hidden and I have tried the copy-pasted directions to change the registry and still it is gone. I had believed it was the cause for my connection to my router, but no internet.. however, I seem to just have made it worse. For all those people out there who are missing this interface on there Windows 7 computer there is a solution, but you might not like the way it needs to be fixed.

"What is teredo tunneling pseudo interface?", this interface is built in the operating system as well as the drivers for this device, it allows a secure connection to another computer using IPv6 protocol. It is also used for connecting to a network securely.

If you uninstalled by accident or you don't see it in device manager under show hidden devices, then you have lost this capability.

Hi

We did a number of updates on our Dell 530 Inspiron desktop. The computer runs very well, although it will not stay asleep. After the updates, we noticed the Device Manager indicated that the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface had a Code(10). I followed all of the recommended reinstall driver recommendations, used Microsoft "Fix It," tried Device Manager/Action/Add Legacy Hardware to no avail. Now, under network adapters I now have the following: (1) Intel(R)82562V-2 10/100 (2) Microsoft Tun Miniport Adapter #2 and #3. The machine runs perfectly except for sleeping as mentioned previously. It easily connects to the internet.

I would appreciate direction on (1) approach to solving this problem and/or (2) solution already listed that seems to fit this situation. Quite honestly, I don't feel like my skill level allows me to do much if any with the computer's registry unless it is very simple.

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to this question.

For the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface either ignore it or right-click on it and see if you can disable or delete it.

For the waking up problem the first thing to check is possible devices waking it. For example, if the mouse is allowed to wake the machine it will sometimes do so as the result of the tiniest vibration.

Hi jake21 The Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter is used to convert IPv4 communications to IPv6. It's normal for the device to show as not working (Code 10). You don't have to worry about it since you most likely don't use it. You can ignore that warning.

Teredo tunneling is a method of tunneling IPV6 traffic over an IPV4 network.

There are issues with it so it is best to make your network 100% IPV6 or 100% IPV4. Most home users are stuck with IPV4 because that's all their routers and switches can handle. If you are not experiencing any problems with your network, you can ignore it.

If you have an inquiring mind and want to become a scholar on the issue, read the information at the following link;

On the properties page for your network connection, select Install->Protocal and select it from the list... you may need your Win7 DVD to do this.

Teredo, developed by Microsoft, is included in Windows Vista and let's you tunnel IPv6 traffic over IPv4.
Before you jump right into using it some examination of the security implications might be wise.

Jim Hoagland over at Symantec has some help for you in the form of a paper that looks into the security implications.
In particular Hoagland points out that a major security concern of Teredo is "the
bypassing of network security devices, such as firewalls and IDS / IPS. Unless those
are specifically Teredo-aware, they will not see the IPv6 traffic as IPv6 traffic, but
merely as UDP traffic on unknown ports and thus will miss the real traffic on which to
apply security controls.

Thus, Teredo being enabled introduces a security risk to your network."

On two W7 PCs noticed the preferred IPv6 address for the tunnel adapter (Teredo tunnel) is this:

2001:0:9d38:6ab8:80:3b8b:bd27:3293

Performed a lookup here:

2001:0:9d38:6ab8:80:3b8b:bd27:3293

And it shows up Hurricane Electric with WhoIs. Gathering information about the network here like MAC addresses and local IPs so I can keep them in a list. First noticed this in the Comodo log (something connecting in) and thought it looked strange so checked it out on Neustar IPv6 lookup. Then I happened to notice it on another machine in the ipconfig /all information from command prompt.

I know very little about Teredo, although I think it's supposed to have to do with converting IPv6 traffic for use on IPv4 networks or something.

Wondered if anyone else gets this or something else unusual in your ipconfig /all information for the Teredo Tunnel...

A:Unusual Teredo Tunnel IPv6 Preferred Address

I disabled IPv6 a long time age, never seemed to need it.

Hello,
I have windows 7 clients configured for DA. Everything is ok but on some clients we have problems with connection with error that IPHTTPS interface is deactivated. I read on technet taht it might be due to teredo active interface.
Next the question
I have teredo interface disabled by group policy, but it is still showing like offline  - not really disabled. It is a normal behaviour? Because for 6to4 interface I have in the log written  - state disabled. Sometimes I have also IPTHTTPS deactivated
as I mentioned earlier. Here is the output of the DA torubleshooting tool debug log.
[11/16/2016 1:57:16 PM]: Teredo inferface status is offline.
[11/16/2016 1:57:16 PM]:        The configured Teredo server is the public Microsoft Teredo server teredo.ipv6.microsoft.com..

Thank you

After disabling Teredo Tunneling-Interface(TTI) I gained back 10% of my system resources in Windows 7 and it fixed a problem with Symantec 360 v3 pop-ups. Ever since I first loaded Windows 7 I had immediately had problems with Symantec's security suite. Getting pop-ups that notified me of being connected to a shared network. I've been searching for weeks now to figure out how to either disable the pop-ups or get an updated from Norton. I'd go through the logs of the security history and see that I was having what looked like hex mac addresses either attempting to connect or disappear from TTI. Finally last night I came upon a site that showed 3 simple commands on how to disable TTI, because it is not a necessary service. In fact, it'd be good to read up on it, because it might become useful to turn back on if the internet ever upgrades to IPv6. Anyways, after doing this I noticed a 10% gain from my system's monitor gadget and Windows even asked me to re-run my Windows Experience Index (WEI). I'm still in some ways wondering why it took up so much of my resources?

You may better probe and fix these issues by the help of Performance Monitor as available inside Administrative Tools...

I ran a hardware diagnostics on my pc and got this message "A driver problem was detected on device "Teredo Tunneling Psuedo-Interface"
I was given the options to restore original driver or reinstall. I have no idea what this is or what to do. I do know that my system is running very slow these days and alot of my videos will play audio in windows media player but the picture will not show up. I am lost and have no idea what to do. Please help..... Lost and confused

A:Teredo Tunneling Psuedo-Interface???

Teredo Tunneling Psuedo-Interface is used for Homegroup and TCP/IP v6 which is part of Windows. Which is normal in Windows Vista through Windows 8.

Which format are the videos in? Windows Media Player does not support all video formats only the common ones. Windows Media Player might support the audio portion of the video because the audio side would be a different format like mp3. To find out the format of the video right click on each on then select properties then select "Details" scroll down look for "File" the name of the video format will be listed after the file name E.X. Filename.mp4

Download and install VLC Player which supports many video formats more than Windows Media Player.

Hey there,

I'm trying to troubleshoot some issues with my Xbox party chat on Windows 10 and have followed the steps on the Microsoft answers site to no avail. I've run the command prompt as admin, I've scanned for new devices, etc. The issue is, the Teredo Tunneling Psuedo-Interface
simply does not exist on my list of network adapters. I've made sure to select "show hidden devices" as well, to no avail.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Thank you.

Hello,
I wonder what the min/max supported PREFERRED_LIFETIMEs and VALID_LIFETIMEs for IPv6 in Windows 7 are. Default values can be found here https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc740203%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
Also, I am interested in the maximum supported number of IPv6 temporary addresses per interface.

kind regards
a curious IPv6 user

How IPv6 works? After setup IPv6 properties and disable IPv4 no more internet connection available.

I went to ipv6 properties and setup the ip address, prefffix range and default gateway and then disable or uncheck the ipv4 check in an network interface card property now no more internet connection available.

So my question is, how to configure ipv6 to works without ipv4?

Regard,
Thanks.
