I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

My Yoga 710-15ikb keyboard crapped out. The local repair guy says that Lenovo had issues with that unit, and I will have to use a USB keyboard. Has anyone ever heard of this? He tried to fix it once by intalling a new keyboard,  and all of the keys worked except a few. He said that even though there is an issue there is no recall. I am having a hard time believeing this is the case, and was wondering if anyone else has had heard anything. Thanks

Hi! I've got Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 Silver (https://www.alza.cz/EN/lenovo-ideapad-yoga-13-silver-d375124.htm), and while I am quite content with the device, my keyboard stopped working. I was wondering whether any of you might know and suggest an online reseller (official or otherwise), where I could get hold of a replacement keyboard. Now, I suppose backlit keyboard versions of newer Yoga laptops will not work I guess, will they? From what I have read Yoga 13 Silver does not have the slot required for backlit, but aside that, will the keyboard function and will it fit (dimension-wise)? If so, what is the voltage and current required? Would soldering a small battery to the backlit cable be a good idea (I accept the fact that I wouldn't be able to regulate it)? Thank you in advance!ck

Hey there, I found a similar topic but unfortunately, there was not a final response that solved my problem. I own a Yoga 13 Ideapad without the backlight function, unfortunately. Recently I watched a video of a keyboard replacement and I would like to do that with mine in order to replace it with a backlight keyboard. The problem is that I am not sure if my model features the needed connections. The model number is: 219159342273 if that helps.  I found backlight keyboards described as "original" Lenovo parts for about 30?. Is that realistic or fake?Thank you for your help!!!

I recently did a Windows 10 update to my Lenovo Yoge Ideapad  11 S on July 16th and now my touch screen does not work. When I check the drivers for my monitor and touch screen I noticed the driver was missing. I cannot get Lenovo or Microsoft to fix this. What else can I do to get that driver back ?

Hello Dws520Thanks for using the Lenovo forums. Was this the creators update?
If so, have a look on the following post, this should show if your device has been tested with the update yet:
https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht503655

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

I recently ordered a Yoga 710 11 inch 2-in-1. I just read that the keyboard has been changed so that where the "SHIFT" key has been for 100 years on the right side of the keyboard, the page up and down keys  now are and it's extremely difficult to type? Is this true that they keys were moved to a non-standard configuration different from all computer keyboards?

Hi CGB1471 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As same from all other reviews : "the right shift key has been shrunk down to fit" .
Similar discussion here and here about the same topic as users have success on using keytweak to remap it as a workaround specially for those that was accustomed using the right shift for speed typing.

Hope this help answer your query.

I have a device manager device warning for the Lenovo Virtual Keyboard. The manager says the driver is corrupted and will not load. Everything seems to work. The touchscreen keyboard comes up when I ask from the lower taskbar.  It sometimes comes up on some web sites and some entry areas. I have no problem with how it works right now. The device manager should not have a device that is not loading or have a driver that is corrupt.

Hello,I've had this laptop for about 2 years and I've had problems with the keyboard. For some reason the Enter, Backspace and Spacebar keys work on and off, most of the time they never work then they work and then don't work again. I've tried enabling/ disabling sticky keys and filter keys, updating/reinstalling the keyboard driver and even a clean install of windows and nothing worked. My question is if it's possible to fix it? I bought a new keyboard for my laptop but is it even replaceable? Seems like you have to take the entire laptop apart to replace the keyboard.. Thanks ahead

A:Lenovo yoga 500 15isk keyboard

Hi Lidor718,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Yes it is possible to fix intermittent key failure.

Checking with the hardware manual, there is no specific part number for just the keyboard alone as it shows that the keyboard is integrated on the upper case cover. Replacement is also a challenge as it shows the need to remove most parts out (as shown here on page 55).

I sent my lenovo Yoga in for a repair that was covered under warranty. A row of keys stopped working only a month after purchasing it. I sent the laptop off on december 21st. After the repair depot received the laptop I was told the corner of the casing was bent and the screen is now lifted from the machine. This damage was caused in shipping and I sent the repair rep pictures of my machine prior to shipping. I was only met with comments that my pictures were not taken at the exact same angle as theirs. I wish I would have requested a picture of the box they received my computer in. My case has been escalated but even after contacting the escalation rep and showing them my pictures I have not gotten any response from them in almost a month. I'm an engineering student and its now a month into the semester. Not having my laptop has been making my life at school much more difficult. My only question is that are all of the lenovo employees trained to distrust the customer regardless of the situation? Even the escalation rep tried to tell me that my screen looked scratched when it was obviously my desktop background. I even sent them a copy of that and never received a reply. Could I please get in touch with someone to get this process over with so I can get my laptop back as soon as possible? I would also like to add that you should insure your packages to prevent this from happening to other customers in the future, or atleast give the customer an oppurtunity to pay extra for it... A recent Windows update has disabled my yoga keyboard. I have tried a number of solutions including a complete reinstallation of Windows 10 on a scrubbed system, but nothing has made any difference. I can sometimes/often get the keyboard back by rebooting from a usb recovery disk, and then everything can work fine for hours until the yoga goes to sleep. A big problem now is starting the yoga at all because the boot recovery menu does not respond to the touch screen, so I have to reboot a number of times before it recognizes the keyboard long enough for me to be able to tell it to carry on. This is a pretty fatal problem and the yoga is only just over two years old. I think the issue is likely to be something to do with tablet mode (which I don't use normally). Any ideas before I recycle it?

A:Disabled keyboard with Lenovo yoga

I have a keyboard back now, at least temporarily, so can add that all the Lenovo hardware tests say that there are no problems and the Windows Startup repair facility simply says that the Startup cannot be repaired (because no fault is detected?). More curiously, the usb recovery disk I am using was set up by this computer after the problem has started to become serious - so it can build a working recovery disk, but can''t start itself up properly. Just to confirm, the yoga now has a brand-new Windows 10 system but the problem still persists. But, now that I have a keyboard, I would expect everything to be absolutely fine for the rest of the day or until the computer goes to sleep. In its current state, it can be rebooted without difficulty (provided that I haven't done it so often that the Boot Menu comes up) and the keyboard will come back. But if I leave it for any time, like overnight, it's 45 minutes or more before I can get it going again.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 700 14ISK (ideapad) with Windows 10 64bit, whose keyboard and touchpad are refusing to work.Everything else seems to be running smoothly except for these. I initially was getting by via the on screen keyboard until I began borrowing an external wireless one. The following is what I knowReset to factory settings did not work.Optimizing OS in BIOS is enabled already (enabling this was suggested by Lenovo Support)THE ARROW KEYS WORK IN BIOS (??!???!?)An external keyboard works (I have used two different Logitech keyboards and both work)Before I sign in, FN+Space seems to work thus (re)activating my backlight. Once I sign in, it stops working. There's no updates for the keyboard driver.I have already tried to uninstall the driver, restart the laptop, and allow it to reinstall the driver.Disabling ymc did not help.F6 does not re-enable the touchpad.I tried a couple button combinations I've seen around for people disabling/enabling keyboards, but none worked. (Willing to try more though!!!) Any ideas? I thought it may be a hardware problem, but since the arrow keys work in BIOS; I'm not confident that this is the case.

Hi all I recently purchased the aforementioned Lenovo model 2 and a half months ago (around May 5). While I love the tablet, I am currently experiencing keyboard issues. When I pressY key or the number 6 I get the number y and 6 (y6)T key or the number 5 I get the number t and 5 (t5)Hyphen '-' key or the left square bracket '[' I get left square bracket and hyphen ( [- )Equals '=' key or the right square bracket ']' I get right square bracket and equals ( ]= ) Output in parenthesis   The caps lock button works, but it also mutes the sound on the device. The mute key works, but also puts the keyboard in caps lock. The backspace button does not delete any previous text - it takes me to the Windows Lock Screen. Ironically, when typing my password at this screen the backspace key works (go fig). When pressing the volume up key, the sound goes down.  When I press any of these keys [-]= alongside shift in an attempt to produce the alternative key output (e.g. capitalizing the key or alternative symbols) the key is unresponsive. Such as the case of t and y - there's no capitalization when holding shift or caps lock. Keys are not responsive when holding shift. This is prevalent when holding keys and the described earlier in the post. I followed the suggestions listed at the following URLhttps://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103985 And the solutions did not work. The on screen Windows 10 keyboard does work.&nb... Read more

So I booted my PC after an update the other morning and the keyboard and trackpad weren't working. I tested the brightness keys on my keyboard and they still worked so it couldn't be a hardware issue there, and my mouse still worked so it was just the trackpad that had something wrong with it. The trackpad has a driver error (code 10) but the keyboard says it's working correctly. Here's what I've tried in hopes to resolve the issues so far: -Reinstalling trackpad drivers -Uninstalling both trackpad and keyboard drivers then restarting -System Restore -Chkdsk on both drives -A trick I read on these forums where you flip the device into tent mode, then after a few seconds flip it back round to laptop mode. I am utterly confused as to what's wrong here as nothing has even slightly helped my problem. Any help?

My 730's keyboard started acting up mid January. I didn't mind it and dealt with it. I do light gaming and the keyboard seems to have grown a large delay. Only when I am gaming. I check Task Manager and my RAM usage is at 60-70%. Disk around 39%. CPU not maxed out neither iGPU. What happens is when I am to press a key such as F when i press it it happens later and it starts to stack the commands. So if i press F once it will finish the input around 1- 0.5sec later. I've looked everywhere, I can't seem to find any solutions. I have FilterKeys disabled so thats not it. Backlight is off and FPS is capped to 60 same as my screen 60hz. Only keyboard, mouse entries are smooth and with no lag. It would be very helpful if someone could help.

Hey folks, I got the Yoga c930 and so far I'm loving it, save one issue--my shift key feels kind of loose (but sticky) and makes a different noise if you accidently hit it the wrong way.  Since it's not a pc-breaking issue, I don't want to have to send it in unless something else goes wrong, but I was wondering if anyone has tried any DIY maintenance on Yoga Keyboards.  I'm worried I might break a clip since even though their are videos for the Yoga 710 on YT, I don't know if they switched up the mechanism for this generation.  It sitll registers the click, so functionally--no issue, but it feels like a defective key that could just completely break out of the blue.

My keyboard stopped suddenly working. First the mousepad froze and when I got it working I realized that the keyboard isn't working. When I try to click anywhere it immediately starts typing "zzzzzzz..." and won't stop. I am currently using my laptop in tablet mode. I was able to type a, q and 1 when holding down the letter z, but I updated the bios and now nothing works (I was previously also able to 'disable' the letter z, when holding it down with the buttons next to it). Could it be possible to fix the problem or should I give up and take it to repairs?

Hi! I bought this one 2  days ago and I'm amazed how bad the keyboard is. Just check the video:https://youtu.be/n4oN6H3x2nQThe keyboard actually doesn't match the photos: enter key is weird form and there are two \ keys. Space key sticks depending on which part of it you click. It also makes a weird noise. Definitely not the quality you expect from a premium model. I would actually be happy to return it, but I'm in another country for a while so looks like I'm in trouble. This is the second Yoga I have, but seems that I will never buy a Lenovo again.

So about a month ago I woke up one morning and went to use my yoga and discovered the halo keyboard was cracked and half it was unusable. I?ve never dropped or anything and it?s always been in a case not really sure what happened to it but the several times I?ve called the highly unhelpful customer service people they keep insisting that I dropped and refuse to give me an estimate of how long it would take to get it looked at if I sent it off or how much it cost and this is my tablet that I used to use everyday for my school work and now I?m managing with a kindle fire, but I?d like my yoga book back. The most that customer service has ever told me about sending in too is that I have to sent it to Kentucky, no instructions beyond that and absolutely no address ever given and it?s impossible to find on the website. I wanted to know if anyone else had this problem or at least even knows how to send it in for repairs. I?ve also only had it since November.

I canceled the service and then tried the next year, and they said it is not available.I tried contacting them again, before few days, and after waiting for their response, they told me that the part is no longer available through the "Lenovo Service Canal".  Does that mean I have no chance of ever repairing my keyboard unless I take it off a used laptop? The serial number of the laptop: CB34360394,required part:  90205188_S, ZIVY0 Upper Case BK W/KB-SLVN.The image attached is one of plenty images I received from the authorised support.
