Q: Yoga 920-13IKB no longer "pen or touch screen" after Win 10 v1909

My Lenovo Yoga 920-13IKB is a 2 in 1 laptop running Windows 10 Home. Meaning full Active S Pen and Touch screen. After installing the Version 1909 update, it's Device Specifications (via Windows Settings) Pen and touch: No pen or touch input is available for this display. In Device Manager/Human Interface Devices, no HID Touch screen device or driver is available. The Wacom Device cannot start. I'm assuming because Version 1909 eliminated the pen and touch support. I ran a full restore of Win 10 Home (no pen or touch support found), ran a driver update scan via Lenovo. It identified a "Touch Panel Pen Driver - 10" driver to be updated. Update the driver and reboot and nothing has changed. Start the Lenovo Pen Settings App and get a message that the Wacom Pen Driver is required. Odd, since the Wacom Device won't start as stated above. Follow the Lenovo Pen Settings link to download the Wacom Pen driver, install it, no change in functionality. Same process before and after v1909 update with no Pen or Touch support. It's barebones, no antivirus, firewall, anti-malware to get in the way. The machine came with a HDD partition of drivers but nothing identified as an HID touch screen. Brett

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

We have issue with 3 x Yoga 720-13ikb out of box. No HID compliant touch screen visible under device manager and therefore no touch working. Did a factory reset without change. Installed windows stand alone copy, same issue. Did I read somethgin about usign older BIOS? How do I get hold of an older BIOS? Any other solution anyone knows about?

In response to customer reports of intermittent touchscreen function failure on X1 Yoga (Type 20FQ and 20FR) after resuming from sleep or when the lid is opened or closed, Lenovo has made a solution via touchscreen firmware available via download from the Lenovo Forums.

My recently purchased X1 Yoga touch screen has stopped working. That fix doesn't work anymore. I'm really frustrated by this - not even restoring windows to factory default fixes the problem. I've looked online for many hours on this issue and pretty much tried everything suggested. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Any update on this?  I just got my computer, all was fine.  Ran a windows update and the touchscreen stopped working.  Still works with the pen though.

My touch screen is no longer working... doesn't matter if the computer is being used as a laptop or if the screen is rotated and operating (not) as a tablet. In the device manager:- I have disabled, then enabled the "HID compliant touch screen".- I have uninstalled the same and rebooted the computer. I am not seeing any other suggestions on the internet...

I've just reinstalled Windows 10 on this laptop and the touchscreen no longer works or is recognized. The device manager does not even list a touch-device under human interface devices, and the settings app reports that Pen & Touch is unavailable. I manually installed the intel chipset and display drivers from the support pages, but it has not made any differences. Does anyone have some insight as to why this might be happening?

My Lenovo solution center recently sent out a code saying my INTEL HD graphics were not up to date. After I updated it (to INTEL(R) Graphics 520) my touch screen stopped working. I looked to see if  my HID complient touch screen setting was turned off after the update, but I found that it no longer in my HDI tab. How do I get this back?

My touch screen has been working fine however the touch screen is no longer working in either the laptop mode or the tablet mode, which of course makes the tablet completely unusable.  I do have the auto install set for upgrades.  I have searched the Forum and the Google web for possible solutions but nothing seems to work.  I have run the "Lenovo Check System for updates" but get a message that the lastest drivers are installed.  Here are my System specs -   System SKU:  LENOVO_MT_81B5_BU_idea_FM_YOGA 720-121KB   BOIS Version/Date:  LENOVO 5GCN29WW, 11/1/2018   SMBIOS Version:  3.0   Embedded Controller Version:  1.24   BIOS Mode: UEFI   OS Name: Microsoft Wiindows 10 Home   Version: 10.0.17134 Build 17134 Need advise to get this working again.

Hello everyone,  I recently purchased a Lenovo Yoga 720 13IKB. I've only have the unit for about three (3) weeks and the batter is no longer able to charge when connected to the power supply that came with the unit. I checked the AC adapter to make sure that it was properly connected to PC and it was. I plugged it to different outlets and it didn't help. I bought a replacement powersupply from my local MicroCenter and still nothing. I checked the Control Panel, open up the Power Options to see if there were any settings in there but nothing to show why it wasn't chraging. Then Opened the Device Manager. Under "Batteries" I saw two items, one for the battery and another listed as "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery". I Opened each item, which will brought up the Properties window. Under the "Driver" tab looked for "Update Driver." I went through the two options and did the same process of updating drivers. I went through the driver update process for all options. Once the drivers are all up to date, I rebooted the laptop and plug it in again. Then i unninstalled "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" completely and reboot. Still the problem persists.  I even updated all the windows Updates. Then I opened Lenovo's Companion app. I updated all the drivers that need updating and nothing changed. I still have my PC connected to AC power and the battery isn't charging. I opened the lenovo setting app and checked under battery section... Read more

Is it not charging at all, or just stuck at around 60%.    I ask because there i an option in Energy Management to select Maximum Battery Life, or Optimized Battery Health, and if set the latter (which I believe is the default), it will only charge to about 60 percent of capacity in an attempt to prolong the life of the battery.    Setting it to Maximum battery life will allow the batter to charge to 100% and you will get a longer run time, but you may have to replace the battery sooner.     If you leave the laptop usually plugged in, then optimized batter health is the better option. Cheers,

I am looking to upgrade my lenovo yoga 910 13IKB screen to one compatable with an active digitizer that is available with some of the newer models. From my understanding, as long as the form factor is the same(fits computer) and the connector is identicle it should be possible with just a torx driver. My finance's laptop is a generation newer (has digitizer pen) and seems to have the same dimensions as mine. Has anyone tried this or know if I am missing something? Thoughts?

I'm experiencing a very annoying blinking/flickering of the built-in 4K display.Have a look at this short video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vdd4UICu_T4On the movie it isn't nearly as bad as in reality. The flickering is only visible with a blue, dark gray or purple color background. White, red or black is fine. The issue appears to be independent of the OS - the same can be observed in Linux or even in the BIOS.It all started after I attached a second screen (FullHD 24 inch using Thunderbold->HDMI adapter) in Windows 10 (latest Intel display drivers as of January 26, 2018).Just after connecting the external display the laptop screen went gibberish but the external display worked fine. After disconnecting the screen and restarting the computer the blinking started. It looks like a problem with the refresh rate. The laptop display behaves like an old CRT display with a low refresh rate I found this procedure https://support.lenovo.com/pl/en/solutions/ht500364 in another thread and followed it but unfortunately it didn't help.  The computer is almost brand new (bought in December, top version i7-8550U, 16GB RAM, 1TB NVMe, 4K UHD display). Any help appreciated.

I've had this laptop for a couple of months and I've recently started having this issue where the screen begins to flicker when it is at max brightness. It doesn't happen all the time but it almost always happens when at max brightness and sometimes when at other brightness levels. I have a Lenovo Yoga 720-121KB Laptop (ideapad) that has worked great in switching between laptop-keyboard to the tablet-mode.  However I can no longer utilize the tablet-mode as the touch screen is no longer working.  A year or so ago I had a similar problem and the fix was to install a BIOS/Driver change and it started working again.  I have install all the latest Bios, drivers, patches, Windows10 updates from the Lenovo web site.  Still broken. What do I need to do to get this touch screen working again?Thank you,Darwin

Hi...I am hoping to get some guidance on an issue that I am having.  We bought my daughter a Yoga 730 for college in July and she started experiencing issues with the screen flickering to the point she cannot use it except for in tablet mode.  In tablet mode she says it does not flicker at all but it is harder for her to use (and she honestly should be able to use it as a laptop also..that is why we chose the Yoga).  I purchased it via Amazon and their tech support sent links to update the BIOS etc. which my daughter has done but the flicker continues. My problem(s) are these 1) Get the flicker issue resolved.  Since it works fine in tablet mode it most likely is not a software issue and I have read quite a few posts online about the wire to the display being pinched but need someone who knows about these things to take a look at it and resolve the issue.  2) She is at college 13 hours away and needs to use her laptop on a daily basis for school.  The 13 hours means I cannot drive over to her dorm and take a look at it and her need to use it means she cannot go without a machine for long. If someone could provide some insight into how Lenovo typically handles these types of issues and what type of turnaround time she can expect?  There is a warranty place near where she is at school and that might help with the shipping time etc. but not sure. Thanks in advance....

Lenovo Yoga 920 within a few minutes screen flickers and goes black. When you siwtch laptop and restart, screen stays black. Need to keep it off for a while and restart to get screen up and workign for a few minutes. Updated BIOS to latest . Not sure about firmware update. Any advse is appreciated

I purchased this laptop about 6 months ago and it cracked right at the hinge for the screen. The touch screen no longer functions properly and the screen flickers black. The laptop has been treated with care the whole time and was never dropped or anything like that. This crack merely developed from using the laptop as intended. I called Lenovo customer service and they said the warranty did not cover physical damage. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she did not care at all that I had an unsatisfactory product. This laptop is either poorly designed or built with cheap parts if it can not withstand opening and closing the screen without cracking. I am very surprised that Lenovo is clearly not concerned at all with the quality of their products or customer satisfaction.

ISSUEThe 720 touchpad and touchscreen are the worst.  This issue started out of the box before I had even gone on line.  When the touchpad does work, the right click/left click distinction doesn't work and I have to use the screen, when it's working, for the long hold until the right click options appear. When the screen is working, the ability to close a window and touching it just the right way is dubious at best.  I've tried modifying sensitivity, etc, in the control panel, but there is no difference.   When both window and touchpad stop functioning, I plug in an old HP mouse I have, but when I'm mobile, this means running the mouse down my leg if I don't have a surface to place my laptop upon.  And it also means carrying a mouse with me everywhere I go.  My line of work is often standing and walking with clients so  not really possible in my line of work.   RETURN/REPAIR OPTIONS AREN'T OFFERED OR ARE NOT PRACTICALTo back up a bit, I attempted to return this to BestBuy, but was four days beyond the allowable return date.  I contacted Lenovo, but it's all about mailing it in or turning the laptop over and being without anything for a few days.  Hard to find those few days.  I've tried to live it, but it's been an enormous killer of productivity, not to mention incredible frustration and some embarrsassing typos.    PAST YOGA BUILD WAS GREAT - WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE 720?My last Yoga 710 wa... Have you tried parts lookup and then Lenovo Encompass store?  Don't post you serial number online.  If you input at the parts lookup site you  should be able to confirm the part number.  I input just generic 920-13ikb at parts lookup.
 
I'm not saying price is great but they do have it at Encompass store.

My Yoga 910 turns off the external screen - not when I do anything at all - but when sitting in front of it with external screen. When I leave the desk - then it turns itself off - or rather turns the external screen off. It is sooo weird - I do not TOUCH ANYTHING - just by myself standing up and walk away. It does not happen every time - more like in periods - some days it days - everytime I go away. Other days it just behave normally. This happens when i use my Yoga as a desktop with external screen, external mouse and external keyboard and only using external screen. Bob Johnston

Purchased new from Best buy in May 2017.  All has worked perfectly until now.  Left my computer for a while while it did some Win10 updates and come back and the Lenovo splash screen is on the screen.  Will not go past that.  I can shut it down by holding the power button but when restated the keyboard lights up and the splash screen comes up and that is it. I have tried pushing the little recovery button while the laptop was off and it does the same thing as the power button and sticks at the splash screen.  $1800 door stop!!! Anyone got any suggestions

Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40°. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. Hello, My Thinkpad Yoga is connected to a large display through ThenkPad docking station.  Its lid is closed.   During my work, from time to time I see random touch clicks on my screen, and random opening of menus.  It is clear that the touch screen is active although the lid is closed.  When I open the lid, and still connected just to the 2nd display (large screen) display the phenomena stops.  Worth noting is that although only the 2nd display shows an image, the laptop touch screen is still sensetive to touch.  This is I guess why the random touches show up on the screen -- it feels the keyboard not fingers. I expect the touch screen to be disabled while the lid is closed or when projecting only to the 2nd screen.  The solution of opening the lid while connected to the docking station is not acceptable.  Lenovo's local support suggestion to disable touch for the Yoga is also not acceptable -- people purchase Yoga to get Touch.   A solution please! Yaron

Hello,I have many issues with my Yoga 920 that I purchased less than a month ago (but over 14 days). The machine runs Windows Home Intel(R) Quad(TM) i7 8550U  16GB RAM 526SSDFirst as stated above the screen flickers. However, this is only when I travel to my parents' house and connect to their wifi and sometimes at my school in certain locations.Another issue is when typing my cursor often jumps in the text box so I have to erase and reposition my cursor. This is extremely annoying!Next my event log has a TON of error codes; however, I am not a developer so I have no idea if these errors/warnings are important. When I run Lenovo Companion, Webroot or previously McAfee nothing is reported. Is there anyway someone from lenovo can connect to my laptop remotley to figure out what is going on?

I have been suffering with the screen flicker mentioned in a number of other posts.  However I have had the sense that it was not related to hardware.  The reason being that any moving of the screen or tapping of the screen joint would not cause any change in the flciker. I took the back off and tried the fix that is shown on YouTube but then a few days later the same issue was apparent. Then I caught that it seems to be related to Firefox.  A tab for BBC news had the flicker, a different tab did not. It also seemed to be related to only a section of the webpage that was open, as scrolling would stop the flciker.  Chrome on the same page did not flicker.  Even in window mode the Firefox tab flickered and would do so with Task Manager open. All drivers are current and all software up to date. I turned off the Hardware acceleration in Firefox and the tab was fine after.  That said I have seen the issue in another app so I wonder if it is a fault with using the video memory sharing or something like that.  Either way I wish Lenovo would be more proactive in trying to resolve the issue.

Good evening I am hoping that we as a community can get this issue solved. Lenovo must do a recall on the Yoga 730 for the very clear and apparent screen flicker problem that has affected 100s and possibly 1000s of people. This is an obvious design flaw that causes the hinge design to cause stress on the display cable attached to the motherboard. I have called Lenovo support but because the warranty is past (of course) they cannot do anything. If this was a random issue it would make sense. But since this is a very common issue that warrants some form of recall I must share my frustration as the Yoga 730-13IKB Laptop (ideapad) - Type 81CT is othewise a fine computer. Join me in calling for an official response from Lenovo so that they will fix this problem that is clearly their fault. Thanks

I have an Envy 23 that was touch/pen capable until only a few days ago.  It now shows "no pen or touch available for this display."  The HID compliant for touchscreen is hidden and cannot install, update, or rollback driver because the hardware is not connected.  I have attempted to rollback Window updates, install Window updates (all), restore to an earlier time when the PC was working with touchscreen, update and rollback drivers, reboot to the manufacturer set up, etc.  I would attempt to calibrate except there is no option for that.  Many of the suggestions require steps that are no longer found on the PC.The onscreen keyboard has even disappeared.   The only suggestions I can find from forums, web searches, and the customer care number is to winkey + X and update the driver in the HID --- No possible since it cannot find the hardware or hardware is not connected.  What hardware?  It is not in the hardware recovery, reboot, search of PC, and I did not buy this separate.  I have looked for calibration options but they do not exist on the PC as far as I can find.I have looked on HP's site for the driver(s) or other options and nothing. Is there a way to get the touchscreen driver, hardware, or whatever is needed fixed?  I purchased this specific for the touchscreen and to lose it kind of defeats the purpose of having it.Thanks

After a month of use, the touch screen of my Inspiron 13 5000 series no longer works.
Initially, when I restarted the computer it would work again. But now this doesn't help anymore.
I went to settings > connected devices >device manager > human interface devices > HID compliant touch screen and it says "This device is working properly." I disabled and then enabled again the device but nothing changed. 
Is there anything else I should do?

I'd suggest you uninstall and reinstall touch screen driver:
1. Go to device Manager, right click touch screen driver, and then uninstall. To reinstall touch screen driver, click 'Action' at the device manager taskbar, and then click "Scan For Hardware Changes".

I recently did a Windows 10 update to my Lenovo Yoge Ideapad  11 S on July 16th and now my touch screen does not work. When I check the drivers for my monitor and touch screen I noticed the driver was missing. I cannot get Lenovo or Microsoft to fix this. What else can I do to get that driver back ?

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hi,      I bought my Lenovo YOGA 530-14IKB 3 months back, it worked fine, but I started to notice that bottom right quarter of the touch screen is not working, It is working when screen is at exact 90 degrees in laptop mode but when I tilt the screen back by some 10-15 degrees the bottom right part of the touch screen is not working. The lenovo pen is working fine on this section of screen. Facing same issue in tablet mode also. I don't think this is software issue, maybe the connection at the  hinge got screwed up. The laptop is still under warranty. All the Drivers are up to date. Can I get a replacement if I go to service center or is this a software issue which can be solved ?

I bought the Yoga 720 13IKB Type 81C3 - Model 81C3005LPG - last week to use it for photo edit and I noticied that the screen have strong yellowish tint.I tried to find a calibrated ICM (or ICC) color profile on the vga_drivers folder but could not find it.Also tried to use the windows 10 color calibration tool with no satisaftory results. I'm really disapointed and before start to tell the world on photo forums that this laptop is not suited to photo edit because of this super strong yellowish tint screen I decided to ask here if any members of the comunity or the Lenovo support team have any ICM color profile file that minimizes it.Note that this model have the BOE06FA panel and not the LG (like some USA models I believe).Thanks in advanceHugo Veríssimo
