I have tried the following so far 1. Reinstall Drivers from lenovo support site - No sucess.2. winsock reset - No sucess.3. I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I have an Acer Aspire E1-571G, running Win7 x64, I haven't used the WiFi for a week or two, and 2 days ago when I wanted to connect to a familiar wireless network, it says "connecting to the network is taking longer than usual" then I get "Limited access" and eventually it doesn't connect.

I thought it could be the access point but after testing it with other Wireless Networks, turns out I face that same problem with every single one, even though my brother connects fine to the same networks, so it's not the access points, I tried every fix on the internet, disabled/enabled the adapter, uninstalled/updated the drivers, disabled firewall/antivirus, tested in safe mode, reset network settings in CMD, the troubleshooter says "Windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter" .

I gave up, so yesterday I bought a brand new USB Wireless Adapter, plugged it in, installed the driver, and guess what, I still faced the exact same problem, if I don't find a fix today, I'm reinstalling windows. If anybody has a solution, please help me, I'm willing to try anything at this point.

Ok. It helps to know if the problem connecting is on Public hotspots or private Wifi. Forget everything you see on Youtube and blogs. As for forums like this. Everything is going to be the same, when it comes to getting answers to your questions.

That means telling the whole story behind what mfg & model of computer, if it is a Private or Public hotspot, If private, what channel or channels is it set on.

Really cannot tell you anything more at this point, without the extra information needed. But really you are going to be better by troubleshooting on your end. That may mean even going with a USB adapter with an external antenna.

I think it's maybe problem with my network adapter driver( Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi adapter ), becouse i think it's old. It is from 15/08/2012. Version: 6.30.59.49

Have you tried resetting your Router so the WI-FI signal is stronger
Normally you have to shut Router down via main or Use Reset Button found through a little hole in back.
Once done just reconnect and it should reboot
That is how I have had to do mine in the past.

Also see if there are any updated drivers for your model

Hello all,

I have been having this "limited access" problem that prevents me from connecting to the internet. There is a "!" located on top of my signal bars in the icon tray and it says "limited access" under my wifi network.

This all occured during a malware removal process. It would seem the malware and viruses are gone but this problem still persists.

-All other computers and devices are still able to connect to the network.
-turned off router and turned back on.
-retyped network password.
-disconnected / reconnected.
Any help would be great, thank you all in advance.

A:Limited Access - wifi problem - occured after malware removal

Uninstall your wireless driver, reboot, let windows re-install it.

1. Go to Start Menu
2. Right click on My Computer
3. Click Manage
4. Click Device Manager from the list on the left
5. Click the + next to Network Adapters
6. Right click your Wireless Network Adapter
7. Click Uninstall
8. If a check box appears to delete the driver software for this device, check the box
9. Click OK
10. Restart your computer
11. Let Windows install the driver software
12. Find the newest driver software and install it from the Wireless Network Adapter's manufacturer site (if you need help with this, let us know)
Edit: Doing the above steps will require you to set up your wireless network on the computer affected. You will need your encryption key(s).

Hi there, I've just purchased a X230 from a friend. I had not noticed the moment I took it, but the wifi LED is not working on my laptop. The wifi is working well but not the led. My X230 is working under Debian/GNU Linux, but it does not work with Windows too. I have tried to install a WWAN module from a X220 and got the Unauthorized network card error. Maybe something went wrong at that moment I don't know. I have just updated the BIOS to the 2.62 version but no change. Any idea ?

A:[X230] Wifi led is not working

Please notice that x230's wireless network status LED indicator is combined to one which is different from older ThinkPads. There's only one indicator looks like a WIFI icon for all wireless communications - WLAN/WWAN/Bluetooth/WiMAX, which means any one of them is on, the indicator is on, and all of them are shutdown, the indicator becomes off. So, if you are familiar with older ThinkPads, you may be confused.

Hi, I have an X230 running windows 10 64 bit. I have a problem where the wifi stops working randomly and the only solution seems to be restarting the computer. I have seen many similar forum posts regarding various lenovo models and I have tried the suggested solutions including updating the driver and turning off the power managment's ability to shut off the wifi module. None of them have seemed to work. It appears that there are newer drivers available but windows insists that it has the newest and best driver and even if I uninstall and delete the older drivers, windows defaults back to them.I switched out the wifi module with a newer, supposedly oem module which is on the lenovo whitelist for this model (intel ultimate-n 6300agn) and I have the same behaviour. Thanks

You could try clicking the WIFI icon in the tray and running the troubleshooting option as a first attempt.
If this does not work try shutting down the router for a minute or so.
Maybe you already tried these, in which case someone more knowledgeable than me may have other solutions to offer.

My wifi keeps dropping after 30 min and giving me a wifi limited connectivity problem: DNS server not responding upon troubleshooting the problem. I have an ASUS notebook 8 months old came pre-installed with Windows 8.1 and with Qualcomm Atheros Wifi Adapter and I use my neighbor's WLAN router to connect to wifi. Sometimes I use the library. My wife has a macbook and has never had a problem at either of these locations. So the router seems to be working perfectly with her computer. If my neighbor's wifi gives me limited signal, my wife keeps surfing away--very frustrating. I do however just use my Android wifi and this magically works when I am getting a limited through the neighbor's WLAN router. Although I have had this Android wifi also cut off on my PC; point being my computer loses wifi and my wife's macbook never does with all these exact same connections.

Before my factory refresh, I was only losing wifi maybe once a day; however I could often trapped after a limited wifi signal not be able to re-connect without multiple re-starts of my computer and DNS refreshes. I could surf online for 8-10 hours, then all of a sudden it wouldn't work. Now it is more like 30 minutes. Either way, there is a major problem with wifi limited connectivity and my neighbor's router. But as I said, my wife's macbook works perfectly and it is actually 9 years old. My PC is 8 months old and can't even connect to wifi. Whats wrong with windows 8.1?

Hi:

I recently bought a Dell XPS 15 that runs Windows 8.1.

Right from the start I've had a problem connecting to the internet. The machine can usually find my home Wif, but when it tries to connect it usually says 'Limited' connectivity and I can't access the internet. I can however access my home network (for instance, I can stream music from the computer to a Sonos player). To connect to the internet I need to flick either the (electronic) airplane or wifi switch off and on a number of times. Once connected, it works fine and doesn't loose the connection unless it goes to sleep or I turn it off.

Also, sometimes when I turn on the machine it can't see any networks at all. Then I need to restart it before doing the above.

Googling shows this has been a problem for lots of people running 8.1 in combination (but probably not always) with the Intel 7620 wifi card on various brands of machine. There's a number of fixes suggested which I've tried (like those listed here: How to fix limited or no connectivity Wi-Fi issues in Windows 8 - fixedByVonnie ) but none have solved the problem.

I have installed the most recent driver for the Intel card (and am not running the Microsoft driver).

I've spoken to Dell who have run me through the above fixes as well as this:Search>device manager>network adaptors> right click: Intel?>properties>advanced>Ad hoc channel : change from 1 to 11. The next thing they want me to do is wipe everything and restore th... Read more

Hi, first post but very much need help. I saw similar threads to what my problem is but not exactly the same.

Basically I got a new wireless adapter last weekend. It was working fine, but then an automatic windows update occurred and I could not connect to the Internet anymore. It just says "limited access". I system restored to before the update and it went back to working fine. But now I can't restore to that previous point anymore so Internet is completely gone. I've not been able to get a cable to connect yet but I'm fairly sure that will work. However I would obviously prefer wireless to work.

I'm positive it has to do with this update but have no idea what and how to solve it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Limited Access (WiFi Connection) after fresh install Windows 7

Plug it in via ethernet cable to your router or modem, enable Automatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware (Step 3) and watch for driver to be installed in bottom-right System Tray. If it does, run all rounds of Important and Optional Windows Updates which should deliver your other drivers including wireless.

If not in Device Manager click on Network driver for wireless, on Driver tab have it Update Automatically.

If that fails import the Wireless driver from the Support Downloads webpage for your model PC using the Serial Number or model number, choosing Wifi or Wireless LAN and the bit version. Download the isntaller, unzip, rightclick on Setup to run, or browse into the driver folder from Device Manager>Network driver>Update driver>Browse.

If you have problems with any of this let us know.

I assume you don?t know that Win 8 is past and outdated. The new Win 8.1 has been published by Microsoft some month ago and you could upgrade the Win 8 to Win 8.1 free of charge.

For that I would recommend you to follow the Toshiba step by step instruction
[How to Update from Windows 8 to Windows 8.|http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-upgrade-stepbystep/]

Regarding the Wlan.
I think the Win 8.1 upgrade would fix your issue but I think you should also fix it by new Wlan driver installation

I've updated all my network card drivers and have disabled the power management option that allows my computer to turn off the adapter, what other solutions are there to this problem? Adapter is a ralink rt3290 and I think it might be a problem with this adapter specifically, if anybody could help me here that would be awesome

A:Wifi keeps going limited, fixed by turning wifi off and on

That is usually caused by a router, or failing networking adapter.

Tried to help someone here awhile back with that same adapter, don't know if they ever got it working. A search yields all kinds of problems with it. About all I can say is try different drivers, older, newer, whatever you can find.

For the past few months, my Lenovo G505 computer (running windows 8.1) has been telling me that its wifi connection is "limited". It used to work well on the wifi (same router) and I have restarted the router several times, but to no prevail. The wifi problem is only for my two private wifi connections, and the computer can work fine on any other wifi. I do not know how to fix this, or where to begin, and would prefer not changing my computer's os to something lower such as windows 8. Please comment if you know how I should fix this.

Usually is a router that is causing the limited issue, not the computer.

I can connect to my home wireless (on it now) and the last time I was at Chick-Fil-A near home I could connect. But, yesterday I was out of town and was trying to connect to an Open Network and got the "Connected" but Limited/No Connectivity message. So I went to a nearby Chick-Fil-A but couldn't connect there either.

I am so confused . . . . I will try the Winsock resets, etc. But if anyone sees or knows what's going on, please let me know. I have an event back down there tomorrow and REALLY need to get on the network there . . . .

Here's my stuff, but like I said I can connect to my home wireless OK:

I'm using a MBP mid 2012 15-inch non-retina running Windows 7 through BootCamp.
I decided to update my installation to the SP1 and hence installed a few Windows essential updates. After the update, I realized that my WiFi failed to connect to any hotspot, although all were present in the connection selection dialogue in the system tray. On clicking connect on any SSID, it takes around 30 seconds and then says "Connection unsuccessful , Limited connectivity to **** "
Also, neither connecting an ethernet cable nor USB tethering from my Android phone seem to work. Any help?
I've tried installing the latest BootCamp Support software, tried uninstalling and deleting existing ethernet and wireless adapter drivers

MacBook Pro, Windows 7, Running OS X 10.8.3 and BootCamp 5

EDIT: I have manually update both the ethernet and WLAN drivers, to no avail

I recently updated my Inspiron 14" 5459 to the Windows 10 anniversary update, i noticed that when my wifi access point changes or wifi signal drops or turning off wifi, my laptop semi-freezes, you could still scroll with the mouse or track pad and select open tabs but that's all, clicking other icons and even the windows start menu does not work, if you wait for more than 5 minutes, everything goes back to normal. Waiting around for about 5 minutes is annoying so what I do is press ctrl alt delete and from there restart the laptop. my wifi adapter is updated to the most recent version and also both graphics card (intel hd 520 and amd radeon m335) is also updated to the latest version.  Any suggestion on how to resolve this issue?

A:after Windows 10 anniversary update, Inspiron 5459 freezes if wifi is turned off or wifi access point is changed, is there a solution to this problem?

Please confirm the wireless card from the device manger or the network control panel. Also please update the BIOS firmware to the latest version. The BIOS update should ideally be version v1.2.2. Also please try system out with  a LAN cable as well to confirm if is indeed caused by the wireless. Though this may not run a complete diagnostics on the network you can run a hardware diagnostics on the computer using the following steps

Shutdown the computer
Hold the 'Fn' key and turn on the computer
Let go of the 'Fn' key after 2 seconds

This is will initiate the H/w diagnostics. Please let us know if it completes or if  you run into any errors. If  you do run into any errors.

Try Unplugging your Router for 10 seconds, then reconnecting. Make sure you have IPv4 and not IPv6 turned on in the Adapter Properties.

I've had this issue for about a month now. I can connect to my wifi, but beyond that, the connection will tell me it's limited (sometimes) despite having shown that it is connected and having access. Whenever I load a page on Chrome, it will tell me the DNS server can't be reached or that my computer is offline. I have ZERO access to the modem/router - I live in an apartment complex (I have called the company that handles that and there's nothing wrong on their end supposedly). I only have issues with this specific WiFi and it's only with my laptop. My phone can connect to the WiFi that my laptop can't, and I have connected my laptop to my WiFi elsewhere (my house). I can still access the internet through an Ethernet cable. Occasionally, it will connect and I will have WiFi for a short while before it goes back to cutting me off while still showing that I have internet access.

I have tried ipconfig/release & ipconfig/renew but that hasn't worked. I've tried pinging the router and DNS server and a website, but they all failed (100% loss).

These are my laptop's specs:
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 8.1, 64 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3337U CPU @ 1.80GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 58 Stepping 9
Processor Count: 4
RAM: 3911 Mb
Graphics Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000, -2012 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 462592 MB, Free - 306712 MB;

I have a fairly new Acer all in one AMD A6-5200 APU with Windows 8.1. My wifi keeps going to limited connectivity. I'm not a very tech savy person but I have tried a lot of things to resolve this and nothing has worked. From the simple reset or cycling of the Modem/router (It's a cisco DPC 3825), to tcp/ip stack reset, whatever that is (saw it on-line and tried it but no luck.) The wifi works fine for other devices in the house (an iPhone, 2 ipads, and an x-box 360.) Thought it might be interference as I'm in a heavily wifi'ed neighborhood but the modem channel setting is on auto and says it picks a channel with "acceptable interference." When I troubleshoot the connection, it says it is set to connect manually and then says it can't fix it itself. So I set it to connect automatically, restart the computer and I still have the same problems. I would experiment with different drivers, but I'm not sure how to do that or even where to go in windows to find them. Any help out there?

What the hell is going on?

I have an Lenovo P500. Running 8.1. Intel N2230 wifi card

It does have a connection, every now and then it may drop but not really.

On the icon in the bottom right corner if I just hover the mouse over the wifi icon it is normal, name of connection and internet access. If I click the icon the purple box pops up on the right and it says The connection is limited.

I have tried rollback, installing an updated driver from Lenovo support, Disable bluetooth and a couple other.

Wifi works on every computer. Just this 8.1 it does not.

Whenever I restart the computer it forgets the password, I have to re enter the password every time even though I have connect automatically checked.
