I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a pair of August MS515 connected which work only intermittently and which seem to require me to restart me machine several times before they will finally work. I've uninstalled several times, basically done everything I can. The manufacturers tell me that Dell is particularly bad for supporting their equipment and that I need to install the latest (Radio) drivers to make sure that the connection works all the time. At the moment the speakers are both visibly paired and indeed reporting as connected via bluetooth but there's no sound and I can't get them to Connect when I right click on the sound icon. SO the only speakers showing as connected are the default laptop's. Any idea what I need to download and update form the Dell website? They, of course, disown me as I reuse to buy a new laptop from them and think it;s weird that I have one which is 6 years old. I've tried downloading the WLAN Radio Switch but that stops and I also can't get the DellRctlService to start or run,. Si I suppose I'm stuffed, unless someone brighter can point me in the right direction!

Since I got my Dell XPS 27 computer in April of 2014, I have never been able to connect to bluetooth speakers. It can find and pair with bluetooth speakers, but is unable to connect and get sound into the speakers. The speakers work fine with tablets so I know there is nothing wrong with the speakers. I currently have the Windows 10 operating system. When I got the computer I had Windows 8.1. I tried troubleshooting the problem by going to hardware and devices and after "detecting problems" it says restart you PC to finish installing drivers and updates. I click on "apply this fix" and then I am told "we've made some changes that should fix the problem. Restart your PC for the changes to take effect." When I click on "next" I am told "windows isn't set up to install and download drivers for your devices. To insure your devices work correctly, we recommend changing your settings so windows will download and install drivers automatically." When I click on view and change settings, it indicates that the option to automatically download apps and icons is already checked "yes".
When I click next again I am told windows update is configured to never install drivers. When I go to the action center and select connect, and choose the bluetooth speaker I am trying to connect with, it will say "connecting" for a while and then it will say "couldn't connect." When I go to the Dell websit... Read more

So i managed to get my bluetooth speakers and laptop paired, but the sound is still coming through the laptop speakers, i went into the audio area and the only option to playback is the laptop speakers.

The bluetooth speakers show up in devices, and it seems to know that they are speakers, but how do i make it show up in the audio area so i can choose to use them instead of laptop speakers?

Hi,
Thank you for writing to the Dell Community Forum.
Optiplex 3020 doesn't come with any Bluetooth card pre-installed on the computer. May I know if you have installed any add-on Bluetooth card and installed the drivers? If yes, please provide us the model/manufacturer of the Bluetooth card to check the further options.

hey

I've been having a lot of problems trying to use bluetooth on this computer. I use an HP Pavillion DV6000 and I haven't been able to use bluetooth since I got it. I have a motorola v3 and i've had the same phone for awhile, with my last laptop I had no problems connecting to it and sharing files, but there seems to be a problem with this laptop, because the cellphone works fine with another devices but i just cant connect to the laptop. Under bluetooth devices whenever i click on allow this computer to be disvoreableI get an error message saying "an error occurred while Windows was saving your settings. The Bluetooth device might be unplugged. The following settings were not saved: Discoverability settings / Connection settings." I don't really know what to do, i went online looking for answers but there isn't really any.

I recently got a used computer speaker system from a family member. It's made by Altec Lansing and has two desktop speakers and a subwoofer. All the cables are there except the cable to connect the system to my computer. I went to radio shack and bought a 1/8" stereo cable and connected the laptop to the speaker system, but was unable to get any sound to come out. Power was on (with light), volume was turned up on both the speakers and the laptop. The laptop also works fine when I plug a pair of regular desktop speakers into it.

I eventually gave up and returned the cord, but just the other day was poking around the control panel and noticed that, under "sounds and devices", there are a number of different options for speaker configurations. Would changing the speaker configuration have made the speaker system work? Or do you think that the speaker system is just broken? Maybe the cable I got was the wrong kind? I could use some help here.

A:Problem connecting computer speakers to laptop

Those options only effect the quality of the sound. Have you tried connecting the speakers to a normal HiFi as there is nothing particularly special about computer speakers.

My daughter (who lives in London) recently purchased Sony SRS-BTM30 Bluetooth Wireless Speakers so that she could listen to MP3 music stored on her Sony Vaio N11H laptop (with Windows XP Home pre-installed). The problem is that all music/sound from the speakers is totally unrecognisable because it is 'stuttering' or 'hacking' so much (sorry I can't explain it in better terms...). A friend informed her that the problem is probably being caused by her BT Broadband Router/LAN connection. Can any member advise whether this might be what's causing the 'stuttering' sound? If not then can anyone please advise as to what might be the cause of the problem. I thought it might be the Belkin bluetooth adapter being slightly out of range, but my daughter informed me that she has tried using the speakers within a range of a few inches up to ~10m and it still makes no difference.... PLEASE HELP

P.S. My daughter also connects to the internet using an 802.11b/g wireless connection.

The Sony Vaio N11H laptop spec (from what I can recall) is as follows:

1GB Memory
160GB Hard Drive

Sony DVD Burner
802.11b/g
Belkin F8T012uk Bluetooth USB+EDR Adapter Class 1 V2

Once I plug my headphones in or my hearing aids bluetooth device in, it all goes south. The internal speakers continue to work as does the bluetooth, but nothing is coming out of the headphones. Since I was once in IT, this problem is unique to the jack itself. Either the jack lifted up or was pushed back and never properly tested. The hook, I just received this computer 3 weeks ago to replace a faulty HDMI out port. I was told that there would be an open ticket so if I had any problems with this computer it would be attended to. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

You may want to keep in mind the Wi-Fi can have an effect on Bluetooth.  We also need some basic info about your system.  If yo use the rich formatting for a reply you can attach snipping tool pictures.
In Device Manager you should show your Bluetooth device plus a couple of Microsoft entries.  If your headsets/speakers also show that is good.  No Unknown devices anywhere in Device Manager or yellow triangles on any Bluetooth components?
Do you know the Bluetooth version of your devices?
You seem to imply pairing the device does not work well.  Can you tell us what is happening and what tones you might be getting from the devices?  Are you able to get them in the pairing mode and your see on the Settings-Devices-Bluetooth page the system loading the drivers?
When you try to connect, do you just power on your devices and not put them in the pairing mode?  Any option showing up for connecting them.  The first time you connect, you may have to allow it but devices seem to operate differently and may not need certain steps.
What Wi-Fi card do you have?

I didn't know where to put this, or what kind of problem this is.
I have a pair of Bluetooth headphones and an ASUS bluetooth USB adapter.
When I turn on the Bluetooth headset, I have to manually go into the Sound settings and change the "Default" to the Asus Adapter.
Though ZId love to know if there is a fix to this, it's easy enough to live with. The thing I cant stand though, is when I do switch any default device in the Sound settings, I also have to close all programs that were open when making the switch. Otherwise, the programs (like iTunes and Media Player Classic) will contiue coming out of the computer speakers, or whatever the previous default was. Ive only had the ASUS Bluetooth adapter, and havent been able to try another adapter, but I have used different bluetooth Headsets/Headphones, and they all react the same. The program also exhibited on Windows 7, so I doubt its OS specific.
Is there any way to fix this, because this is absolutely annoying.

A:Problem: Have to restart programs when connecting bluetooth Headphone.

Did you ever find an answer? I just found this post and I'm having the exact issue. And agreed; very annoying.

Edit: Just found this page on reddit. It works! Swich the audio playback in iTunes to Direct Sound rather than Windows Audio.

My work has saddled me with one of these, and I can't connect it to my home WiFi network. It SEES the network, as in this image

but it can't connect to it. My network is WPA/2-PSK, I don't know if there's any significance to the fact that the Acer doesn't report the security type after "Security-enabled network"

I've tried manually entering the settings in Control Panel>Network Connections>Wireless Network Connections>Properies>Wireless Networks>Properties but there I run into another problem. When I change the network type to WPA-PSK, I enter my 16-character passphrase, but it simply will not stick. It always reverts to an 8-character key, as in this shot:

The shot shows TKIP, but it doesn't matter if the encryption type is AES, same result. I've turned WPS off in case that made a difference, but it didn't. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be very much appreciated.

It turns out I just had to update it to SP3

Hi, beamo1, and welcome to the forums.

Since you have your BlueTooth dongle working with the phone, what you'll need to do is pair the speakers with the dongle, just like you paired the phone with the dongle and also like you paired the speakers with the phone.

I am at my wits end! I have spent days trying to solve this so any help gratefully received!

I have a new Dell Studio 1558 running Win 7, 64 bit. I have a Voiis Audio gateway that receives a bluetooth audio stream from my PC and feeds it into my Hi-Fi. Until I changed my PCs it was working perfectly - and still does when connected to my iPhone. I have managed to pair the gateway with my PC but can get no further. I cannot see the services that are associated with the decise so cannot select the service to be used. The device appears in the "play-back Devices" list and the audio stream is directed to it. (The PC speakers cut out and the play-back device graphic shows that the feed is being received). I bought Bluesoleil to try to solve the problem but that made connectin to this and other devices very hit-and-miss so I removed it. When I re-loaded the original B/T stack, there was a report that the peripheral device driver could not be found. Could this be the problem? I have trawled the internet and the Dell site for a replacement stack and an A2DP driver but found nothing that can be installed.

Could some kind soul help me please?

Thanks

I had been using a D-Link wireless router for over a year with hardly any problems and recently my wireless internet has stopped working. To make sure it was the router and not the DSL modem itself, I disconnected the router and hooked the modem directly into the computer and my internet connection was fine for that one computer. I tried restarting both the router and modem several times and used different ethernet cords before deciding that it certainly had to be a router problem. So, I purchased a new Netgear router 2 days ago and much to my dismay, the same problems occured when trying to set up that router. The internet light still doesn't show on the modem and the wireless light doesn't show on the router..."No connection detected".

I have heard and seen several similar problems and heard solutions relating to IP addresses and contacting the dsl service (Bellsouth/AT&T), however I am not fully aware or informed of these procedures and was wondering if anyone could give some straight forward help in helping to fix my problem. Thanks

Hi there
I'd like to make a suggestion here to people wanting external speakers for things like laptops etc.

Go for BLUETOOTH wireless rather than USB ones since it saves using a USB port (especially on newer ultra books where the number of USB ports is limited anyway) and gets rid of messy wires. You can also pair these with your phone as well -- giving extra use for the speakers.

Sound quality of Blue tooth speakers is more than adequate for typical computer sound cards -- especially if playing typically compressed MP3 music from places like ITunes etc.

I don't know about you but I hate having visible wires all over the place anyway.

Cheers
jimbo

Windows 7. No sound from Braven 705 bluetooth speakers. Speakers are paired and appear in Audio Devices. They are connected. The bluetooth headphones are the Default Device. Right-clicking them to 'test' makes the graph jump up, but no sound.

Now here's the thing. You'll see the 'Configure' and 'Set Default' buttons are greyed out. I've been around a dozen sites and among other things have tried:

- removing and re-pairing the speakers

-removing and re-installing the bluetooth, audio etc.

- checked Device Manager and updated all software

- checked the speakers on other devices. They work fine on a Samsung tablet

- scanned with sfc

- ran services (services.msc) and ensured bluetooth status is 'Started' and on 'Automatic.'

Still no sound from speakers. No sound from a pair of Bluetooth earphones that also work fine on a Samsung. Any suggestions welcome.

Might be one of them is OK and the problem is elsewhere...

I'd appreciate your support!

Thanks,
Vamprirecharm.

A:Connecting Speakers

Usually the green plug if colour coded. Then check the volume on the speakers and power is on. Then can check volume setting in windows volume control. Was this a retail buy pc or self built?

Does anyone know the difference between connecting speakers to the Line Out or the Speaker connection on a desktop? I don't think that I notice much of a difference between the two but just wondering.

Thanks,
Jason

A:Connecting Speakers

Well...

If your card is like mine, the Line Out is for the 2 rear speakers, and the Speaker is for the front 2 speakers ( depends on how it is setup in the Sound properties )...

after moving house and connecting my computer find cant get sound , either muffled or nothing HELP!

A:connecting speakers

Check the speaker connections and make sure it's plugged into the correct port.

Make sure the volume knob on the powered speaker is turned up.

Check the volume control panel in the taskbar and make sure the sliders are high enough.

Try a different set of speakers.

Hi - my friend was throwing out his home theater system because the main unit stopped working - but i decided to take his speakers but am having trouble figuring out what to connect them to.

this is the system:
http://www.insignia-products.com/pc...home-theater-system-with-dvdcdmp3-player.aspx

i have all the speakers and the subwoofer...and they all have wires that come end with the straight wire that is stuck into the receiver. Do I have to buy a new receiver? Is there some sort of unit I can buy to do transfer the music info/power to the speakers but use my current receiver and split it two ways?

Any ideas are welcome and much appreciated.

A:Bluetooth speaker and speakers simultaneously?

Windows will only allow one default playback device. If the Bluetooth is set as the default audio playback device, that is all you will get. There MAY be some third party application that allows more than one, but I don't know of any.

HP laptop cannot find 2 different bluetooth speakers, but it found and paired to my iphone and ipad.  My ipad is paired to said speakers, so it must be my HP, or windows 10, with the problem.  I have tried uploading driver from HP site and many other things posted but nothing has worked. Thanks,Cathy

Hi,

I have a bluetooth usb that is attached to my HP G61 laptop. I've been using it to play music from my laptop to a bluetooth speaker iHome iBN27. One day I wanted to switch the sound from the bluetooth speakers to my laptop speakers so what I did was click on the speaker icon in the toolbar. At the top was a headphone image and in the middle is where you adjust the volume. I clicked on the headphone image which opens up a menu and at the bottom it says device usage. It gives you two options "use this device" and "don't use this device". I selected don't use this device.

Now when I try to play music through the bluetooth speakers again it doesn't work anymore. My computer says it is connected to the bluetooth speakers but the sound comes from the laptop. I've gone into the sound options in control panel and can't make it work. Under Sound -> Playback it shows three icons. ATI HDMI Output, Speakers and Headphones, Independent Headphone. The speakers and headphone has a green check and the other two has a red arrow pointing down. When I click on properties for the independent headphone it is set to "Use this device".

Can anyone help me?

Hello,

My  HP laptop is a Pavillion Entertainment dv6-2170us, product: WA778UA#ABA, serial [edited by mod on 8-20-14] running Windows 7 Home Premium OA 64 bit and purchased 2010 (I think).  It is running HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth 2.1 Wireless. Driver provider is Broadcom, 6/15/2009 version 6.2.0.9000

Although my beloved HP laptop shows it has paired with 2 bluetooth speakers I bought this past week, it won't play music through them.  Since both bluetooth speakers work fine with my brand new HP Envy desktop, I am guessing this is due to my laptop running outdated Bluetooh driver.  Unfortunately, the 'update bluetooth driver' button has been grayed out, and I don't know how else to update the bluetooth driver.  I just ran the HP update, but that didn't seem to affect the bluetooth driver.

Bluetooth speakers I have paired:
EasyAcc cannon
Ion Mini Block Rocker

The EasyAcc cannon flashes blue, and their information states it is ready to be paired even though my HP device manager shows it is paired to the laptop.

I tried several of the suggestions on your forum, but was unsuccessful.  I hope to use this speaker in my classroom next week, so your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Lori
