HELP: Can't download most files, watch most youtube videos, click on most buttons etc

Q: HELP: Can't download most files, watch most youtube videos, click on most buttons etc

I'm pretty sure this is a problem with my router. I can't download most files (It sends me to a download page and says that the page doesn't exist and it does), watch most youtube videos (They show up as black boxes and I cant do anything with them), click on some buttons (They just don't do anything), and also tabs (they don't open). We recently redid our entire internet setup and reset our router(s). This happens on all of my computers, yet my friends can download the files at their houses (proof that the pages and files exist) etc.

Preferred Solution: HELP: Can't download most files, watch most youtube videos, click on most buttons etc

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

So I'm helping my friend out with an issue he's been having with his computer (the one in the title). He took it to Staples before asking me and, bless their hearts, the best thing they could think of trying was to downgrade to IE9. Gotta love 'em.

Anyway, we have tried many things so far. You name the basics and we've tried it, clearing cookies, cache, history, etc., different browsers, disabling firewall temporarily, virus scan, updating flash player, updating java, downgrading both, examining internet security settings...

So we tried going into safe mode and I was surprised that both Youtube videos and downloads work again (the specific problem was that a "page could not be displayed" error would come up every time he tried to download any file of any kind from the internet and that youtube videos gave him the "sorry, this video could not be played" error). I assumed that it was Malware then, so we scanned in safe mode and came up with nothing. What I have here is the process list in safe mode and the process list in normal mode, does anyone see anything running in normal mode that would interfere with videos and downloads?

downgrade to IE9

IE9 is the latest version of IE, You cannot Downgrade to it? Do you mean downgrade to IE8? So, we assume since you are running IE9 that this is not XP?
In Normal mode Go to Start/Run and type inetcpl.cpl and press enter/Connections/LAN Settings. Make sure all the boxes are unchecked. Now go to Start/Run and type ncpa.cpl and press enter. Right click the Local Area connection/Properties scroll down to Internet Protocol (TCP-IP)/Properties. Make sure Obtain an IP Address and DNS Server Address Automatically are both checked. Now go to Start/Run and type CMD and press enter. IN the Command Prompt type ipconfig /release and press enter. the IP Address changes to Now type ipconfig /flushdns and press enter. Now type ipconfig /renew. Now type ipconfig /all. You should have a new IP address try it again. If you still cannot connect please include the text output of your ipconfig /all in your next post

I have been using a HP 14-b109sa with Windows 8 for a few months. The whole time the internet connection itself hasn't been particularly slow, but almost always YouTube videos don't load, and I can't download powerpoints or documents either. My housemates laptops work fine, although one of them struggles streaming Netflix. I tried plugging my laptop into the router and it still wouldn't load a YouTube video. Don't know much about computers or anything so any help would be very appreciated thanks

This is getting to be frustrating. I just bought a new Vaio laptop with the following specs:

Intel Core i3 370M 2.4 GHz processor
4GB of RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
17" monitor
Blu-ray player

I can watch YouTube videos only if they're embedded on other pages or if I copy the url from the embed code. On YouTube, I get these strange artifacts, and while I can hear the video playing, I cannot actually watch it. This is frustrating, obviously, and I don't know what to do because nobody else's problem seems to match mine exactly (they receive error messages and the like).

EDIT: I have fixed the problem. Turned off hardware acceleration in the settings menu. Thank you all for your help.

About two weeks ago my girlfriend and I moved to a new apartment.
Since about then, I cannot watch videos on Youtube. I have tried other video sites (break.com, facebook videos, all other sites I've tried) and they work fine.
I use Google Chrome, so I tried on IE, still doesn't work.
I erased browsing history, caches, uninstalled/re-installed adobe flash, shockwave, java, and some different extensions.
When I go to Youtube, the page loads fine (and quite fast), but the video appears to buffer (the buffering circle appears), then after a few seconds it says "An error occurred. Please try again later."
Occasionally, a video will load as it is supposed to, but probably less than 1% of the time. Likewise, if I refresh a not-working video enough times, occasionally it will play. When it does work it is after 20 - 30 refreshes.
Any ideas on what else I can try?
I am running Win 7 64 bit.
EDIT: I should also add that my roommates, whom are connected to the same router, have no problems. And, my girlfriend, who is connected with me through an Ethernet Hub, also has no problems.

Whenever I try to watch a Youtube video, or any other video online (with the exception of YouTube videos on the video.aol.com website,) I get an error message that says that I either have java turned off, or need to upgrade to the latest version of Flash.

AFAIK, the flash is updated, and Java is turned on.

I can't download the update (firewall I guess, not sure) and my Internet Options say Java's turned on. It worked fine for a long time. And, the other computers, configured the exact same way, can watch just fine.

Like I said, the only videos I can watch are Youtube videos hidden on the Video.Aol.com website.

Any suggestions?

I have a Samsung R580. We got a factory reset for this laptop a few months ago, and Youtube worked after about 10 minutes after starting, but now it doesn't work. I have cleared my cache, I have used Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome. I have the Adobe installed. I use Youtube downloaders and the download is too slow. When I am on Youtube, it goes slow and when I try and watch a video, it doesn't load, and when it does load, it's only for a few seconds and then it buffers for awhile.
Xvideos and Xhamster videos load and then buffer.
Google is slow. Facebook is slow.
On Speedtest.net it says that my ping is 23 ms, download speed is 33.38 mbps, and my load speed is 5.79 mbps.

Any information?

Youtube videos used to work because my laptop had the factory reset, which was months ago.  My laptop's screen got broken, and then we got it had it fixed but the laptop had a blue screen, so we got it fixed again. After the factory reset  Youtube used to work when I let the laptop be on for a while.  Now it doesn't work at all.  Anything Google seems to not work also (except Google.com, but I use another search engine because it goes slow sometimes.)
Also websites go slow (Facebook, Wiki, and other websites) too.
Youtube doesn't work on Firefox, Google Chrome or either Internet Explorer.  I have Java and things installed.
Crossfire used to work, but recently it has started to freeze when I log in and restart the laptop.
I have used Malware Bytes, AVG and Ccleaner.  I have also cleared the cache and that does nothing but make the websites slower for a while, but it doesn't help Youtube anymore.
What can I do to fix this?

A:Unable to watch Youtube videos

The laptop just froze and I had to restart it.  I couldn't do anything.

according to script blocker flash is not working on other pages and items.

so why do the vids play without flash? if I install the latest flash version wonder will the video freezes come back. grrr :-)

A:disable flash and watch youtube videos??

They play without flash as it will use the HTML5 protocol if flash is not available. This is built into modern browsers so no plug in is required. This can often lead to a smoother experience. The latest version of flash may solve it but it may not. Flash is on its way out anyway so many sites are converting to HTML5.

Hi Everyone,

I encountered this problem, supposedly with flash, that whenever I try to watch a video on youtube or play a game on kongregate, while using chrome, I immediately get a BSoD followed by a quick restart that doesn't allow me to even read the BSoD.

I did a quick search through the forum and found one similar solved problem, and followed every step to no avail. to summorize I did the following:

- uninstall and reinstall graphic driver
- uninstall and reinstall chrome
- uninstall the flash player (no sure if I did it right cause it never asked to reinstall it)
- run checkdisk
- run AVG and Microsoft Security Essentials

I'm scared that my hard drive is about to die. This is an old VAIO VGN-SR190 laptop but I have so many things I'm afraid to lose on it. Below is a crash log I got with WhoCrashed. I'd appreciate any feedback as to how I can solve this matter, thanks.

Hello GBG, let me try to help. But first I need some detailed System Specs and detailed description of the problem, when it happens and is there any particular activity or program you are using.
Please Run Memtest86+

Please download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip

Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. It needs to run for 8 complete passes or until you receive an error. If you receive an error, stop the test. Even 1 error is a fail. Each pass tests a different part of the ram and each of the 10 tests in each pass tests something different. It takes a minimum of 8 passes to completely test the ram, more passes are better. It is quite a long test and will take several hours depending on how much ram you have. Due to the time length it ... Read more

I have read the sticky but i am having a problem beyond that scope i believe. I cannot click on any button that says download or install, install exe files have icons that have changed and the worst part is i have a text file in "my documents" that is titled "AVSDK5_UNINST". If you read it, it seems to be a log file of commands that appears to have disabled my anti virus software. I have system mechanic and AVG Internet security.
The AVG side bar tool says "cannot find AVG services". I have windows 7 ultimate BTW.
should I copy and paste the log here and see what everyone thinks by looking at the command lines?
any help would be great.

i should mention that I just did a clean install due to other viruses that my wife downloaded off of supposed coupon sites. about 20 or 30 trojans and a back door. I am using my laptop with an air card. I have yanked the ethernet cable from the PC and i refuse to even use my wifi for fear of someone attacking my network

A:[SOLVED] cannot click download or install buttons

i know i'm double posting, but the edit button is gone.
In the "log" that I mentioned, one of the lines says "hello, I'm your 32bit impersonated custom action server"
thought that might be important

I have noticed that some Youtube videos do not allow you to download them to your computer and searching the web I find quite a few Freeware available which they claim will allow you to do this job.

Can you recommend a good Freeware or they all are the same?

No, we can't, 'cause it goes against YouTube's Terms of Service, therefore, against this forum's rules.

HI, is there any safe tool or website which can download youtube videos in desired quality and video/audio file formats ( mp4/mp3) and also i could select the time length of the media before downloading ( like i may be wanna download only 2 minute 30 sec to 2 minute 45 sec of a 5 minute song in mp3/mp4 format ). i am using windows 10. thanks.

A:HI, is there any safe tool or website which can download youtube videos?

Assuming your question is one allowed by the BC rules, I can tell you clipconverter.cc does all the things you listed.
It has caused me no problems I've been able to ascertain after many uses. It won't convert videos if it detects music in them however. Sometimes this includes the theme song at the start. You might be able to fix that by choosing a start point after the music, but that's something I haven't tried.
Converto.io works too, but you can't select a segment. You can do that after DL with any video editor. The old Windows Movie Maker is pretty easy.

Okay, so this started yesterday and by the looks of it for no reason. So yesterday I started to a YouTube video and my computer crashed. I thought it was odd but nothing more, because in the past, it did this before. So I turn my computer back on and continue surfing the web and I come across a different site with a video not from YouTube, I start watching and the same thing again. At first I thought maybe I needed to do some clean up so i did I fragmented and cleaned the registry, but it still happen again. So my next thought was that my computer was overheating so I checked the fan, which looked to be ok, and raised my laptop for better airflow, but still happened again. I don't think I'm because I can work on my computer for hours without any problem and this seems to still happen even if I just started up my computer. So now I think that my computer has a virus or some kind of malware, because this also happens when I try to started up Spybot -search and destroy and it will crash in the middle of an AVG anti-virus free scan.
There's also one more thing a little while ago I had my computers memory replaced becuases the old one died and maybe it's my video card's turn to?

So some info on my computer: I'm on a IBM ThinkPad, I work off of Windows XP, I have 149 GB, 40 RAM I think, and a Radeon 7500 graphics card

and I did a Hijackthis scan too
