Windows Live Search for Outlook - how to manually uninstall

Q: Windows Live Search for Outlook - how to manually uninstall

I installed a program from Microsoft called 'Windows Live Search for Outlook'. Since I installed it, Outlook runs very slowly (Microsoft Office 2003 Outlook on Windows XP). I tried to unstall the program through the controll panel but I still get a message that the program needs to be installed each time I open Outlook.

Does anyone know how to manually uninstall this program and to get rid of the popup message that it need to be installed each time I open Outlook?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello there.
I Have been using Outlook Express and Windows Mail for quite a while now, and when i upgradet to 7 i were chocked that the software was'nt included in the released version...
ofcourse i found the (somewhat superior) Windows Live mail.
Well, long story made short. I have been manually Backuping my Windows Mail account onto a flash driver everytime, but since the program isnt included with 7 i dont know how to acces my mail anymore...
I know i can acces a POP3 Mail from Windows Live mail and have ofcourse tried that... But here is the catch, (and trust me this is embarassing) i cant remember the password!.. since i havent had a reason to crunch it in before, i simply have forgotten about it...

Well, bare bones question is finally here: is there a way i can Manually place my account into Windows Live Mail without having to cruch in that password.
It was possible in both Outlook Express and Windows mail so there should be at least someway to simply place the Account in there???

You do not specify which service you are trying to connect to.

Most on-line mail services will provide you with a method of recovering a lost password. I would suggest you try to contact them and see what options are available to you

A:How do you manually uninstall

Have you done a registry search?

Go to Start > Run, and type:

Look under Edit for the Find entry. Enter a search term that is specific to that program, like the program's name, or even the manufacturer if that is the only program you have from that company. Remove the entries that refer specifically to that program. Be careful not to remove entried that are not specific to that program. If the name has the word "system" in it, for example, you obviously should not delete all entries containing that word.

Use F3 to continue the search after each find.

Is the program still in Add/Remove?
Have you deleted the folder from Program Files?

Another thing you could try is a safe registry cleaner:

Tools > Registry Cleanup > Do Them All. And then remove all the found entries.

Recently my add-ons have been weird, not showing up on Firefox at all (is it because I updated Firefox to the latest version?). So I tried to uninstall them through the actual browser. It says "This add-on will be uninstalled when Firefox is restarted."
So I closed and re-opened my browser....still had the same message.

Then I tried uninstalling Firefox altogether then downloaded it and re-intalled it. The add-ons messages were still there and exactly the same!

I also deleted the whole Mozilla Firefox folder in my program files when I uninstalled.

So my question is....how do I remove the add-ons in my system? Are they saved a specific place that I can just delete from?

I'm not really sure whether this is the right forum to place this but I believe this comes under the heading of Maintenance. Now to my question.

Some time ago without being asked, my husband finished up with a Chinese program on his PC and although it doesn't seem to bother him, I don't trust such software. As far as we can make out the program is Baidu Antivirus which occasionally makes itself known when threats are detected. As I've just said I don't trust such software particularly since it was installed without any means of uninstalling. It will therefore have to be uninstalled manually. My question is HOW?

I've searched the internet for info on how to do this but I'm still somewhat unsure. I've come across two uninstaller programs which are supposed to be specifically for uninstalling Baidu but its a case of persuading my husband that it really should come off. After all it was put on there without his knowledge or permission and it makes me feel more than a little twitchy about it all. Particularly since we are on a home network.

Can anyone point me to a tutorial on manually uninstalling the program bareing in mind there is no uninstall facility available? In the meantime I shall continue my search. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I'm new on this forum, I live in Colombia and I need help to uninstall Avira, but I know a partial solution to my problem.

During the last week I've had some errors (0xc0000142) in the system that I fixed up taking out programs I had installed, but Avira stopped working, appearing 0xc000007b error, otherwise all is good on my PC. I've being trying hard to remove the AV, because neither with Revo nor from the crontol panel is possilble to remove Avira, because Avira does not respond (and appears a system message at the beginning of each session with the title AVGcenter.exe that notifies that the application not opened properly and click to close)
In the Remove Programs panel, besides Avira, there are two other programs: Avira Free Search Toolbar webprotection and Avira Free Search Toolbar webprotection updater, where Ask.com appears as editor of the same.

Consulting, I think this is the correct method to remove it manually:

1) Download Avira Regcleaner
2) In safe mode, delete the Avira files in Programs Files (x86) and Data Programs.
3) Run the Regcleaner, first solving the problems of compatibility, since this tool works for Windows XP and I have 7 home basic, and then to run as administrator.

The other settings I found it on this website:

I'm on Windows 7 with a DV7 64 bit laptop. I'm having problems with Windows Live Mail because when I click on inbox, sent. deleted etc nothing happens. The only way I can get to my mail is to use 'Find' or to go to my Plusnet account. All of this is a nuisance. However, when I try I can't bring up the windows which would enable me to do so. A:Uninstall entire Windows Live

You can of course uninstall it in Control Panel>Programs and Features, however turning off it's components in msconfig>Startup will remove it from having any effect on your System while leaving it's choices there if you or anyone else ever need them.

While in msconfig>Startup, I would uncheck everything except AV and gadgets/stickies. All others are freeloaders on your RAM, CPU and Startup and can spy on you. If you want to know what a specific component is, google it's identifier - but none are really needed unless you have a HD or battery tender on a laptop. Startup Programs - Change - Windows 7 Forums

Once you turn off all the freeloading startups and restart, you can go into msconfig>Services, hide all MS services, then see what else is starting up and running without your knowledge so you can hunt them down and turn them off in Preferences, or uninstall them.

Good Evening Folks:

Got myself a problem trying to uninstall Windows live mail. It started when I got error message 0X800cccoD. As per MS instructions, I ran System Restore to a time previous to the last update. Nothing changed. I then ran Restore to the farthest previous automatic restore point at which the restore function would operate. No change. The next step was to delete the Windows Essentials app using Revo uninstaller. The icon for the app disappeared and Revo indicated it was uninstalled. I then tried to reinstall Live Mail and was informed that it was already installed. I checked my C/: (x86) program list and it showed the program was still installed. Following that I ran the Revo forced install function and it came up with a whole list of files which I deleted. I again tried to reinstall the program and was told it was still on my computer. Another crack at a forced install came up with nothing. I then went to my C/: (x86) program files and tried to delete the listing. I was informed that I needed special permission from some goofy installer which I could not find. I then tried to install it using the AVG Shredder function and this got it off of the list. I tried to reinstall the program again with the same result. Windows told me the program was still on my drive. I then went into my registry and deleted every reference to Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Essentials that I could find. Once again the reinstallation gave me the same results. I tried updating Windows Live Mail to the latest version using the web installer, but it kept failing and rolling back the installation. I then downloaded the full offline installer, but the same issue occurred.

I decided to uninstall Windows Live Essentials so I could try and install the latest versions of Mail and Messenger. The uninstall completed (or it seemed to), but while Messenger was gone, Windows Live Mail was still on my computer and functioning normally.

I then tried running the offline installer again. It didn't recognise that Mail was installed (as usually it says "the following programs will be updated: Mail") and the installation of Mail fails every time with one of the following errors: -

Not sure whether this is the correct place to post this problem, but I'll plod on anyway.

I had windows Live Messngr (2009) installed and everything was running fine. Then I was asked to upgrade to the newest version and everything went kaput. The update would not install and I lost messenger entirely. I was told that the older version of messenger could not be removed. Contacting support resulted in loads of options to try, none of which was very clear to follow. Tried to remove Windows Live Essentials via the 'Add/remove' option on my pc but it just won't budge! (That's the only way I can describe it). I was running Windows XP SP3 and was advised to uninstall SP?, which I did only to add a host of other "troubles". I don't use messenger an awful lot per se, but I do like its easy access to my hotmail a/c. Am actually fed up with the whole Windows Live thing, but need lots of help to know just what to do now?

All help/comments/thoughts would be much appreciated. Any instructions...step by step please if possible!

Thanks in advance....
