What are the maximum frequencies that are available in core i7 process

Q: What are the maximum frequencies that are available in core i7 process

What are the maximum frequencies that are available in core i7 processors now?

I ask this because I'm looking for a new desktop PC these days. I currently have an ancient core two duo Pentium D processor runninf at 3.4 GHz, surprisingly all the PCs I have found so far are either very close to this frequency or slower.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My Windows 8.1 laptop, fitted with an Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN wireless adapter, suddenly stopped automatically connecting to my router a few months ago. I attempted to connect wirelessly to multiple other routers, all to no avail. My laptop could only connect through an ethernet cable/tethered hotspot. I then moved houses and got the internet set up on a new provider and suddenly my laptop could connect wirelessly again! Sadly, after trying to connect to my university's wi-fi, I found out that the laptop wasn't fixed, it was simply able to connect to my new 5Ghz internet but still had trouble connecting to 2.4Ghz access points.

I've tried everything I can to fix this as my laptop is too vital to my studies for me to be without it even for a short period of time, therefore sending it off for diagnostic and repairs is out of the question for now. So far I have tried:

Installing the latest Windows 8.1 drivers for the card (currently on v.15.14.0.2)
Replacing the wireless card with a new one (same make and model)
A complete, fresh re-installation of Windows 8.1

Running out of ideas on what to try and so turning to the community for help. Even if you're not sure of a fix, determining the problem itself would also be a big help. Thanks much in advance!

A:Laptop can't connect to 2.4Ghz frequencies, only 5Ghz frequencies

Try the latest wireless driver from the laptop manufacturer's web site.

If that doesn't work then try the latest driver directly from Intel's site.

Hey,

At first, i had this problem when i cancelled a tune up by live onecare. The cpu usage went up to 100%. After tried everything logical and usual, i finally tried to reformat.

After 5-6 times reformatting, the results i get change a little bit. When i take a look at the task manager, under the performance tab, the cpu usage is at 50-70%. And as I used core duo processor, i could see both cpu usage history. Here comes the weird part, only the first processor is used to the maximum. Meaning, the 50-70% cpu usage is mainly from the first processor. The reading on the second one is nearly zero. How can is my computer becomes stupid enough to use only one cpu when there are two and i never even change any settings on the device manager?

I have to wait atleast 10 mins to open My Computer, just to have see the search torch searching for what i have in My Computer.. Whenever i click on anything about the internet connection, it`ll hang, even in the task manager. Seriously, this is a weird one. I tried to look for the problem on the net, cant find even one close one.

Any help would be appreciated.

Whenever I go into task manager to see what is using the processor everything appears to be fine.
Any of you guys any ideas as to what might be causing the problem.

What is the safest, most stable and highest clock speed this CPU can go up to? I just figured out how to overclock it, and I understand that it can be dangerous and must be done only by a few notches at a time. Before I had it clocked at 2.11 GHz (Original) but now I have it clocked at 2.12 GHz. What is the maximum clock speed it can go up to?

A:What is the maximum clock speed an AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core 4000+ can go up to?

I have taken one of those up to 2.4Ghz, but I didn't go any higher. Before you overclock, also make sure your heatsink will be able to handle cooling it.

And remember that all CPU's are different, just because somebody can get theirs up to 5Ghz doesn't mean someone else with the same CPU can.

This appears to be a long-running, common problem with Windows 7 (and likely more recent OS versions).
It also appears to be an on-going problem, and needs to be actually fixed by Microsoft.
At some apparently random time after the system boots, one of the CPUs cores will become occupied at nearly 100% by a thread associated with something similar to "APCI.sys+0x1af7c".  With one core completely occupied by this thread and
its associated interrupts, the whole system becomes sluggish.
While this wild thread/interrupt series appears to be random, it is more likely to occur around the time that a cell phone is plugged or unplugged into the PC via a USB cable or possibly when using Firefox and streaming video from sources such as CNN or
YouTube (it does not appear to be a problem when streaming from Netflix, Amazon, HBO, and the like).
There are two ways to work-around this:
1.  Reboot your machine.  The problem will come back at some point, at which time you can reboot again.  This solution harkens back to one of Bill Gates' signature accomplishments from Windows 1, where he got people to believe it was acceptable
to hit the reset button on your computer multiple times a day.  Yes, the problem will keep coming back, but at least for some random period of time after you reboot your PC, it will not be sluggish.
2.  Disable "Wake on..." features from your wired network card (not wireless network), whether or not your... Read more

Is there any way to change task priority in W10, as it was in previous versions (Task Manager|Set Priority)?

Dropbox likes to spend the first 10 minutes after waking up my computer taking 60-90% of processor cycles, and I've also noticed other processes which seem to pop up and monopolize my system resources. I'm running an older Acer with a fairly slow Core 2 / 1.4GHz processor and it's just choking on the load. Under W7, it was very usable but in W10 it seems like even getting keystrokes/mouse clicks to register sometimes is like watching the old Cable TV guide channel.

Thanks!

Just finished a no formatting clean install of XP Pro sp1, on my IDE drive, Running an HD61CR Intel mobo with an a shiny new duo-core i3-3225 (HD4000) on top. 2 gigs of ram, nothing else significant. No errors in setup. Latest Chipset and Graphics drivers downloaded and installed, nothing else done. Task manager shows 4 processors, 2 real, 2 hyper. One of which has almost no processes, its other some process on it, but the other two processors show a never-ending spiking, like a bell curve, every 20 seconds they both spike nearly identically to 80%, then drop to 10% only to spike again. These register as 'system' and 'system idle processes' in the task manager with all users processes showing.

[See attached] photo for task manager output.

This is a new system, just fired it up today, the only thing old is the IDE drive set to IDE mode in bios, no other bios changes except clock and power failure state. Oh and during windows 'loading setup files...' the screen flashed on and off, but not like the normal few times this was every 5-20 seconds, then 2-4 times for 1 second each, and it did this 50-80 times over 15 minutes, but stopped entirely once windows was into its friendly looking install screens. and there are no errors on a regular reboot. Everything otherwise looks perfect.

All ideas accepted....

Haven't had any problems with this laptop in over a year. Came in this morning and it was locked up. Rebooted and it went to safe mode, things looked fine. Rebooted and laptop let me log in and seemed to be extremely slow, didn't finish bringing windows completely up.

rebooted with repair disc, this was successfull
used repair disk to check memory, no issues
next reboot, same slowness, didn't finish bringing up windows
updated security essentials, ran scan, found 5 trojans, cleaned them
rebooted, same slowness
updated malwarebytes, found quite a few 'bad files', cleaned them
rebooted, same slowness
updated windows updates (i think 4 new updates since last update)
rebooted, same slowness
rebooted in clean mode, no startup apps, no services, came up clean and fast
went through each windows service and app, found Windows Search was keeping laptop from finishing bringing windows up, causing slowness, disabled search
rebooted, now windows finishes starting, but extreme slowness with IE 9, and other explorer type apps (task manager, any security program, ...)

most recent - can reboot just fine, can't get IE 9 to work, it starts and goes to my home page (google), then takes 5-10 minutes between responses.

Now I know why this happened, because I selected maximum number of processors shown in 'Msconfig', which really doesn't exists ('Msconfig' showed 4 processors for Intel Core i3210).
From next start Windows 8 ran into trouble and within a day or two of using this desktop stopped responding, happened for all operating systems where I selected maximum number of processors shown in 'Msconfig'.
Therefore do not select maximum number of processors from 'Msconfig'.

Terry, welcome to the forum. Here is what the specs say about maximum memory: The memory sockets on the system board can be populated with up to four industry-standard DIMMs. These memory sockets are populated with at least one preinstalled DIMM.  To achieve the maximum memory support, you can populate the system board with up to 4GB of memory configured in a high-performing dual channel mode. Here is the Hardware Reference Guide for the computer.  You will find the above information on Page 25. The maximum hard drive size with Win 7 is 2TB. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

Is it possible to pick up radio frequencies and interference on computers? I opened my Windows Media Player today and heard, very quietly, a talk radio show and was flabbergasted. It has never, ever, ever happened before. I don't listen to internet radio so I don't know what it could be. Completely dumbfounded over here.

A:Radio frequencies?

Yes, it is possible. Computers are an FCC Class 15, sub-part B product, which means that while they may not cause interference in other products, they must accept any interference caused by something else. That's why your PC can pick up talk radio. You were either picking up a local radio station, or something nearby was radiating that signal.

That's it in layman's terms. You can look up the officialese in your owner's manual if you like.

Hey all, this is my first post here, its great to be here!

Anyways,

I just purchased a new motherboard, cpu, and memory (wanted to finally switch from AMD)
I purchased the Core 2 Quad 6600, Gigabyte P35-DS3P, and 2x1GB of Ballistix Tracer
I have Windows XP Pro w/ all current updates

The speed of the memory is DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
and my motherboard supports DDR2 1066 and dual channel memory

When I run CPU-Z it says Max Bandwith for each stick is PC2-6400 (400mHz)
The timings are :
Frequency 533mHz, CAS Latency 5

is the frequency correct? it seems slower, i mean my old pc-3200 memory was running at 400mHz CAS latency 2.5.

Just wondering what I would need to change in the BIOS, this mobo's got great OC'ing tools

Thanks for looking appreciate any help!

A:RAM Frequencies Problem

Indeed the board does but as is shown
4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 3866(O.C.)/3733(O.C.)/3600(O.C.)/3466(O.C.)/3400(O.C.)/3333(O.C.)/3300(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2400/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)
* Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs.
* Refer to www.asus.com for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists

all except 2400 and 2133 are OC

Your processor
https://ark.intel.com/products/97128/Intel-Core-i7-7700-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_20-GHz
Memory Types DDR4-2133/2400, DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.35V
supports those none OC at SPD - serial presence detect

So your ram although I do not know which exact model of Vengeance it is - as explained in your motherboard manual must when OC not only be configured alone for ram but as part of the sophisticated procedure on that motherboard - where if you wish you can simply use the 5 step automated process explained on your manual
Have you checked if your Corsair ram is on the QVL list from Asus
https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z270E-GAMING/HelpDesk_QVL/
That list cannot of course list all ram that will work with that board, but what is listed has been tested by Asus

This presumes the problem existed - not only on one or two games but across the board

A couple of months ago, I built a capable gaming rig (E8500, ATi HD4850, 4GB PC-6400 RAM on a Gigabyte EP35-DS3L with Vista x64), and set it up. It was my first time building a computer from scratch on my own, but I made it and recently overclocked my CPU.

I intended to overclock it to 3.6GHz, and it looked like that in the BIOS but using CPU-Z, it reported it at 6 x 380.0 MHz or 2280 MHz. It does change to the 3.6GHz at times in the program, but never in the output file. I'm assuming this is because of some energy saving thing? The mobo did come with an energy saving program, but I disabled it and stopped it from starting on boot, but I guess I may have not gotten rid of it properly.

CPU-Z also reports that my RAM is PC-5300 (333 MHz x 2), even though the RAM was sealed (at least, it looked like it). My CPU-Z output file is attached, if you want to take a look at it.

Regards,
Cal

Good day Win7 Community,

This is my first post on here, as many users, I come here because I am having an issue.

I bought my new computer at friday.
I began installing my desired programs and games.
But as I progressed I found out something was going on with my sound.

I own a 5.1 surround sound speaker set so I'd like to use it, I believe I have stereo sound on it right now because I want my speakers to have sound all the time instead of having either music or voice-only.

On to the issue;

At first, I used my audio outputs of my motherboard, but that didn't really work well with my speaker set.
So I got my old 5.1 surround card (PCI) out and installed it into my new computer and plugged my speaker set, I could now use all 5 speakers.

I uninstalled the motherboard sound drivers and installed the sound card ones.
Fiddled with the settings the way I like it (sound volumes on each speaker)

I got it all working.. only, with youtube,WMP,VLC Mediaplyer, whatever produces sound.
When a high frequentie sound comes along, it gets scrambled which really ruins my fun of my new computer.

List of hardware/Software:

Motherboard: ASUS P8H67
Sound Card: Trust SC-5100 5.1 Surround Sound Card

Motherboard Sound Drivers: Realtek High Definition Audio Driver

Sound Card Driver: Trust 5.1 Soundcard 14319

Recap:
I uninstalled Realtek and installed the trust 5.1 sound card drivers.
I tried fiddling with WMP's settings etc. but no luck so far.

I hope someone can assist me in this struggle.

After installing Win2k pro I had to change my 41.09 Win98, Nvidia drivers to Win2k drivers and found that there is no option to change my video cards clock and memory freqencies.

With the Win98 41.09 Drivers there was an option in advanced settings to change the frequencies. I am really annoyed because I found that the Nvidia detonator overclocking was more accurate than Riva Tuner.

A:Nvidia Drivers :Clock frequencies

You need to install the coolbits reg file to add the registry key to enable the clock frequency adjustment

you can get it here http://www.guru3d.com/files/ in the overclocking and tweak directory

The issues discussed below are for the laptop on AC, not on battery. CPU issue-People reported that the CPU idles at around 4GHz no matter what tasks are performed on the laptop, leading to excessive heat. I have this 13yr old monitor that's working perfectly fine, but I need to know it's vertical and horizontal frequencies.

Unfortunately I do not have any documentation for this monitor, nor is anything mentioned anywhere on it.

I've been using it on WinXP with a resolution of 1024.768 at (I think) 60.

Any help, pls.

If you were running a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and 60 Hz refresh rate, I believe that it is referred to as an XGA video format. The vertical frequency is 60 Hz and the horizontal frequency is about 48.36 KHz

Hi, ive had this laptop for a while now, and a few months ago the audio was working just fine when i was producing my music, i plugged in my microphone, guitar hitch, i even set up a new maschine micro mk2 and it all worked fine with low latency. I didnt change the latency and a few weeks after letting my computer sit, i came back and tried to go onto soundcloud, and the audio wasnt working right. The audio came out, but it was like the bass had been manualy turned off. I preveously owned a macbook so if you could please elaborate and explain how to fix the problem or what is happening, that would be greatly appreciated.

It has hardly been two weeks I've custom built my PC with newly manufactured parts and installed a cracked-activated version of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on one partition and then ,Windows 8.1 x64 on another partition.
Ever since the first few days , I've been encountering BSOD frequently in every Instance of usage, although the occurrence of them depends on the system load. When the system is in an Idle State, BSOD occurs in 15-45 mins of being idle ; When in moderate use, such as downloading space intensive contents or watching movies it takes 75-90 mins before BSOD happens ; when in heavy use, such as graphics intense gaming or rendering processes, the system runs for about 3-5 Hours before the BSOD occurs. I use Windows 7 x64 as the primary OS and 8.1 is for guest users. I've tried Memtests, HDD tests, Processor Tests, BIOS tests and all turned out positive with flying colors and also tried disconnecting all parts and reconnecting them again, yet BSOD is a common occurrence.  I just bought Lenovo IP510IKB earlier this week, and I really like it, but I think something is wrong with the speakers, when I play music or any kind of audio there is some kind of distortion or vibration at certain frequencies, I don't know how to describe it, it's like there is something vibrating inside the laptop. I tried installing lenovo Harman drivers but the problem is still there, I also tried Windows generic drivers and other softwares like FxSound, but nothing helped, something that I also tried is muting the left speaker and the right speaker, at first I thought muting the left speaker fixed the problem but after a while I noticed the same distortion but not as much. I tried living with this annoying problem as it's not always there, but it really appear when listening to piano, but I can't live with it anymore it's driving me crazy and I can't find any related topics about this problem in the IP510IKB. I live in Egypt and I bought this laptop from souq.com (something like amazon.com) about a week ago, and I don't think I will be able to return it, is it even something that the warranty covers?

Can someone settle an arguement I'm having with my Nephew. He says that the default clock settings of my GeForce 3 card are too low. At the moment they are 175 Core Clock Frequency and 400 Memory Clock Frequency. We've looked at specifications for this card on the web and in the manual but both have not provided us with an answer. If someone could clear this up for us or provide me with a link that would tell me then I would really appreciate it.

Cheers.

Si

A:ASUS V8200 T2 Deluxe Default Clock Frequencies?

That's the correct clock rate for the card. Around page 4 of theis review you can see in the graphs the base clock and some overclocking benchmark results.

http://www.tweakers.com.au/articles/graphics/asusgf3ti200/page1.asp

here is a page that shows the standard clockrate.

http://www.hardavenue.com/reviews/Ti200roundup2.shtml

175/400 seems to be the standard clockrate on most GF3 TI200s. Do a Google search for "TI200 review" and you'll see. I think your nephew owes you lunch or something.

Hi guys. I've been looking at 2 laptops, they are basically identical but one has an Intel Core i3-4005U mobile processor and 4GB of RAM, and the other one has an AMD A4-5000 mobile processor and 6GB RAM. The guy at the store and a couple other people I know told me that the Core i3 is better than the A4 as the AMD "Quad Core" processors aren't very good, so even though the Intel i3 is only dual core it will be better than the quad core AMD. The other question is the RAM. Is 6GB that much better than 4GB or will 4GB be fine for basic use. (That's all this laptop is for. Basic use and touch apps since it will be touchscreen)

The AMD laptop is this one: Buy the HP Pavilion Notebook - AMD A4, 6GB, 15.6 at TigerDirect.ca
And the Intel here: Buy the HP TouchSmart 15.6 Notebook PC - F5W37UA#ABL at TigerDirect.ca

Last question, what the hell is DDR3L? All the new laptops have it nowadays... Is it backward compatible with normal DDR3 laptop RAM? Meaning can I take a normal laptop DDR3 4GB stick out of my dads laptop and put it into the 4GB (i3) laptop if thats the one i'm gonna get? Or does the DDR3 "L" part cause issues?
Thanks

Edit: Sorry i'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread. If it isn't mods could you please move it? Thanks

A:AMD A4-5000 "Quad Core" vs Intel Core i3-4005U Dual Core

Hmm, I guess you should read some reviews. But just from the specs the AMD has 6 GB ram instead of 4. Has a DVD burner where the Intel shows no optical drive. It only has W8 8.0 where the Intel has 8.1. But some people may prefer 8.0.

Read reviews. See how each performs. If you don't wish to use it to burn DVD then the optical drive, or lack thereof may not matter to you.

Edit: Oh, and the AMD is about $80 cheaper.

I am trying to choose between different Dell Latitude D420/D430 laptops. They come from a very good company who get stacks of laptops from Dell and sell them as refurbished (as good as new) at good prices (http://ndc.co.uk/browse_sub-Latitude_D420_D430-37.html). I will use it for MS Office, Outlook, internet, and nothing much else.

The choice is between Core Solo 1.06GHz or 1.2GHz; Core Duo 1.2GHz; or Core 2 Duo 1.2GHz or 1.33GHz. (The D430 has a brighter screen and allows Core 2 Duo - apart from that (I think...) D420 and D430 are identical.)

I'm hesitant about going for the cheapest, but from what I can tell Core Solo will handle all these functions well. I have seen that Core 2 Duo can be 30% faster than Core Duo, but I wonder if I will notice it on what I run.

At the moment I have a Core Duo 1.2GHz/D420 which runs fine, except for some freezing sometimes when I open Outlook (it resolves after 10-20 seconds).

Hello Reader,
I recently bought an E6430 laptop with Windows 10 Pro and had about 3 months of trouble free use out of it until yesterday morning when it completely failed. It is definitely the motherboard, because whenever I connect the (or any other) AC Adapter to the laptop, the green light on it instantly turns off and the computer is still stone dead - no lights, no sound of spinning fans or HDD. Totally useless now.
I tried the recommended 'reset' steps where I removed the battery, AC Adapter, (and later: the HDD and RAM as well) and held the power on button for at least 30 seconds, before reconnectig the battery and trying to turn it on again.. Still dead. Nothing I tried worked, so conceded that I'm just another one of possibly 100's of thousands of similar disappointed 'victims' of this (all too common) fault with many post 2006 laptops (not only Dell). This is the third such experience I've had myself with the same total failure, since 2012!
So, quick solution (so I thought earlier yesterday): I went on ebay and bought a new laptop which I thought was identical, however I've since discovered the (newer) one I just purchased on ebay for $400.00 is not exactly the same as the model that just self-converted into a doorstop. That was an E6430 14 Core i5 3320M, 2.6GHz. The one I just bought to replace it with is an E6430 Core i7-3520M 2.9GHz. The plan is to simply remove the HDD from the doorstop (i5 3320M, 2.6 Hz) and place it into the new... Read more

Can i replace the CPU to a Quad Core without changing the cooling system?

A:replace dual core CPU by quad core what about heatsink? in Mini Tower 755 Optiplex

Your spare 500W power supply likely DOES NOT HAVE sufficient 3.3v/5v power and therefore will not work.  If you do not use the performance copper heatsink it will work but the fan will be running all the time.   The Copper heatpipe heatsink is the same as the GX620 heatsink. HEATSINK D9729  SHROUD J9761

Hi,

I'm buying a new computer with Vista home premium (32 bit), and I can't decide whether I should get a 2.4 quad core or a faster dual core (since it's cheaper).

I've searched about this but all the results I've got were from 2007, so I'm not sure if things changed much now.

So what do you think? will I benefit from the additional cores? or shall I go with faster dual cores?

Hello friends,
I m very eager to know that whats the actual difference between a Core 2 Duo processor and a Pentium Dual Core processor, other than their proceesing architecture?

According to most benchmarking sites including Tom's Hardware, Core 2 Duo E4300 or 6300 performs better than Pentium Dual Core 820 in almost all benchmarks.....whereas C2D E4300 or E6300(1.8 and 1.86 Ghz respectievely) are having MUCH lower clock speeds than Pentium D 820(2.8Ghz). Why like this???

I have 2 systems, one with C2D E4300 1.86 Ghz and another(from which I am writing this thread) is Pentium D 820 2.8Ghz. But I dont see any MUCH performance difference in reality, although in multi-tasking and gaming C2D system still performs better.

Can anybody please explain me in details.....
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
TheHacker

A:Why Core 2 Duo outperforms Pentium Dual Core even when C2D has lower clock Speed??

The Core 2 Duo doesn't share the same architecture as the older NetBurst architecture of the Pentium D, which is also shared by the Pentium 4. The Pentium D is effectively a pair of Pentium 4 CPUs on one die. The Core 2 Duo architecture allows for a lot more processing to be done in one cycle, hence more information can be pushed in, say, 1 million cycles by the Core 2 Duo than the Pentium D. As for 'reality', there obviously won't be much difference when both systems are used for stuff like playing music etc. But the real differences will show up when you tax them, such as when playing an HD video without a video card supporting HD-decoding where the Core 2 Duo will be able to process information much more quicker than the Pentium D and so you will have a smoother image. Check on Wikipedia for more in-depth details.
