I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi everyone, first of all i want to apologize for my english, but i tried to fix this problem in all the forums in my language and nothing.
Ok so here is my problem, i just re installed my windows in my 2 years old laptop, i installed windows 7 home premium 64 bits.
there were some drivers that my laptop did not installed so i did it manually, after all this i realized that my NVIDIA graphic card does not appear in the device manager, it only shows my intel HD graphics. i've tried a lot of possible solutions i found in forums but still nothing. i tried to install the driver of the nvidia graphic and it says something like this: this graphic driver couldn't find a compatible graphic hardware.
I hope anyone can help me with this problem i would be very grateful.
Here are my computer specs:
Samsung NP300E4A-S05CL
NVIDIA Geforce 315M (optimus)

A:Samsung laptop does not recognize my NVIDIA graphic card

That's really abnormal, the fact that a Graphics Card just "Dissappears" Is properly seated?

Apparently though, some laptops disable the NVidia Card on Optimus setups, when it is powered on battery. If it isn't already, plug in the cord and restart.

Also can you show us a screenshot of device manager?

A:Thinkpad Yoga 15 Graphic Card issue (geforce 840m)

Hi GijsDros, welcome to the forums.
Just in case have you tried to update the NVidia Geforce drivers in Windows 10? Maybe it can work out.
To update drivers on a Thinkpad I always recommend:
1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches
2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.
3) Try to install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows App Store, Lenovo Companion also has a "update driver search"
4) Sometimes all that software does not recognize some updated / missing driver. Check Lenovo's Support Site and search for your specific model drivers.
There is this NVidia Driver on the support site of you model:
NVIDIA Optimus Display Driverver. / from 17/12/2015
But updating with driver with the one on the NVidia site does not gives me any conflic, so if you still have issues with that driver, you may try the NVidia page.
Let's hope this can help you.

My gpu was working fine since 3 years, until last month the fps on my games become so low 25/35.So I decided to clean and change the gpu's thermal paste,Then when I start-up the pc it shows no signal on the monitor....So I connect the vga cable on the board graphic and it works.the fans works fine. There is no indication of a graphics card in Device Manager.
I was afraid if the gpu dead but it works on my friend's pc.
Things I have tried:
-Updating BIOS to latest version (F10)
-Installing most recent chipset drivers
-When I try my old nvidia gt610 it works fine
-Re-Install windows
-Going into the BIOS, selecting primary display as PEG (which is the PCIe slot),it saves, I plug in a monitor to my GPU, nothing, but I plug the monitor into the on-board graphics and it works. The option for primary display is reset in the BIOS back to "Auto select" after this.
-I went ahead and disabled the integrated graphics in device manager, then disabled them in the BIOS, then I set the primary display to PEG. I connected up my monitor to the card and booted. The POST was a long beep followed by 2 short beeps, which I believe means the motherboard has no display to connect to. So, that solution didn't work.
-I tried installing Nvidia/ATI drivers, but they won't even install because I don't have the proper hardware (card not detected)

I'm not sure what to do now... I don't think the slots are dead because my old graphic works fine.I'm really at ... Read more

About a week ago i installed Windows 7 Ultimate x 32 on my old rarely used PC. After installing it everything works great except for one little thing- Windows doesnt recognize graphics card anymore, in device manager its listed as Standard VGA graphics adapter (and the video controller is the only yellow question mark in device manager). And installing ATI drivers does nothing- it gives no errors but nothing actually changes. Tried upgarding drivers from Device manager but the wizard fails to recognize the official ATI drivers as an upgrade.
Now usually i would just go on to conclude that the card has died BUT- before installing 7 Ultimate i had windows 7 basic and everything was working fine. I had CoD 4 installed and it played OK, unlike now when every game gives an error. So im a bit puzzled
The Card is an ATI X800XL, and the fan on it works and its still pretty warm, so shows signs of life. Either it decided to do die on the very day i upgraded Windows (clean install after format though) or Windows 7 is playing tricks on me.
Any idea what to check or try?

A:Windows wont recognize graphic card

Sorry that you are having problems. Have you thought about a driver update?
Even if you are up to date, the driver may be defective.
Same day as the install; thats what makes coincidences fun
What did you upgrade from, Vista? Maybe you need a new driver.

I have a Gateway P-172S FX. I was running Vista 32bit and just switched to 7 Ultimate 64bit. Everything seems to be working great, except it doesn't see my Nvidia GeForce 8800m GTS graphics card (I printed my hardware specs right before I moved to Win 7). When I go to my Device Manager, under display adapters, all it sees is "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter."
I went to the nvidia website and found the exact driver for my situation:
Product Type: GeForce
Product Series: GeForce 8M Series (Notebooks)
Product: GeForce 8800M GTS
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Language: English (US)
That brought me to here:

I downloaded this driver:

I ran the file (I also tried "run as administrator") and the files extracted and it began to try to install. The nvidia install window came up and the after about ten seconds an error message appeared saying:
"The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit."

I don't know what to do! Any help would be much appreciated!

i recently purchased a MIDI keyboard for my computer (m-audio oxygen 49) and after some initial difficulty it is now working perfectly. however, in the process i managed to somehow delete or alter the driver that tells windows that i do indeed have a sound card. the program i use to make music, reason 4.0, allows me to select the sound card and it does produce sound so the sound card is still installed and working. however windows itself doesn't believe i have one. when i go to control panel / sounds / audio tab, the drop down menu for sound cards is greyed out. under the hardware tab, it tells me that the "microsoft WINMM WDM audio compatibility driver" has had a service disabled (code 32). i have tried disabling and re-enabling it to no avail.

i tried to visit the microsoft update site and redownload this driver, but i use firefox and it requires internet explorer. however, my IE has not worked in months. it will open but for some reason it doesn't believe i'm connected to the internet.

so basically i'm trying to decide if i should just reformat (it's been about a year and 6 months, so it's time) or if i can pull this off. the only issue i have with reformatting is that i lost all of my original disks when i built this computer so i'd have to repurchase a lot of programs. if anyone has any suggestions at all i would greatly appreciate it.

thank you.

Hello, I recently performed a clean install of Windows 7 x64 Ultimate onto my computer. While doing so, I had to unplug my graphics card and use the onboard video, otherwise I'd get an error about unexpected restarts.

After installing, Windows 7 doesn't detect the graphics card (the card works, but it doesn't show up under the device manager and I can't install nVidia drivers). If I use the BIOS to switch to onboard video, then that shows up on the device manager and works fine, but I use this PC for gaming so I'd prefer to use the video card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Hello,I'm having problem with my graphics card Nvidia GeForce 840M and need help or advise. The laptop is a 17" IdeaPad Z710 with dual GPU: Intel HD 4000 and Nvidia GeForce 840M running on Windows 10.After some time the display started showing artifacts (moving dots and lines) when displaying 3D graphics. The problem appears even on the Nvidia control panel / 3D settings (Adjust image settings with preview). See the attached screenshot. All application (mainly games) using NVidia for 3D graphics are suffering from this problem.I can select default GPU for each application, so I noticed that some games are running OK with the Intel GPU and having this problem with Nvidia. But strangly enought, some games have the same problem with both GPUs.So, I believe is more a config/driver issue. All driver seems to be up to date.I did not paid attention what triggered this problem, since the laptop is mainly used by my son.I would appreciate any help, advise, assistance to diagnose and possibly resolve this problem. Thanks!

I have a Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 graphics card that I installed over a year ago with no problems. Recently I had to do a system restore and every since then when I plug the monitor into that slot it wont work even after I reinstall the driver. My I.T. person at work says he has to change the settings in Windows XP in order for it to work. I know how to change it in setup from the onboard to PCI but he says it's in Windows that he makes the changes. I've asked him to explain to me what he did so I can fix it myself next time but when he tells me, it's like he's speaking a foreign language. I didn't have to change any settings in Windows when I first install the part.

After installion i tried to put on my graphic card drivers from the disc. When disc started there was below of nvidia menu text: Graphic card not detected. When i tried to install drivers from disk, it sayd that drivers don't match for my current hardware.
I downloaded the new drivers from nvidia page, started installation, and after it finished it sayd "Sytem has not been modificated".
Okey, it shows on device manager that new drivers has installed (there was standart VGA, but now there is Nvidia 9800GTX+ drivers).
But the problem is i want to get VSYNC off and i don't have nvidia control panel.

Ive tried using drivercleaner, nothing works.
My friend told me, that aTuner is a great program to use to get off vertical sync. So i downloaded it, but when i try to change it from "default off" to "vsync off" it is about 2 seconds on "vsync off" and then switchback to "default off".

Maybe someone could give me some advice about atuner or my windows prob?
Ooh, and by the way: everything worked in XP.

Graphic card: Nvidia 9800GTX+
Proccessor: intel e8400

My system worked fine until I loaded a recommended windows update for my NVIDIA Winfast GeForce 3 TDH card. It loaded a driver that wasn't compatible with my widescreen LCD monitor. I reloaded what I thought was the NVIDIA driver 93.71 forceware for XP and things work better, but... I'm getting an annoying flash anytime I right click on a video file icon OR when I go open the NVIDIA control panel OR when I go into the video advanced settings on my desktop. Those are the only times I get the flash. It's not really a flash but more like my monitor is out of vertical phase. It's rapid and brief. Not a critical problem but I would like to find a fix. I've tried every refresh rate and setting with in the NVIDIA controls but I can't get rid of it. if I didn't know it didn't do this previously, I'd ignore or replace my card. I do not have the original driver for this card because I bought it used without it. Perhaps someone could suggest a better driver? Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.

Hello, I need someone to help me with figuring out why my NVIDIA GT 755M graphic card doesn't function anymore. On the device manager it says Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43). I'm not really sure when this started, its working fine around a few moths ago and since I don't play any games throughout the time, I never really notice it. I checked online and found out a lot of people having the same problem, but still can't solve it. Does it maybe has soomething to do with windows 10 update? Would appreciate any help I can get, cheers

I recently installed Windows 7 on a science teacher computer and it has an NVIDIA e-GeForce2 MX TWV PLUS and its a AGP graphic card. I'm looking for the driver for that graphic card. It's an HP d530. I knows it's old but I'm trying to get the NVIDIA Driver to work so I tried that one NVIDIA driver on HP site and it didn't work. I tried in compatibility mode and didn't work. I tried manually to install and didn't work I tried NVIDIA Detecting Drivers tool and wouldn't detect it How can I get the driver to work so the computer can have better resolution?? Should I update the video BIOS too?? Any answers would be appericated

A:NVIDIA Graphic Card Driver

You're very welcome. I don't know the specs on the cards other than I know they work on W7, because I installed two of each in 4 d530's and they ran W7 just fine for years. I did not upgrade the power supplies, and never had a problem.  I don't believe you can upgrade the P/S on any of those PC's. I got the cheapest ones I could find at the time, which is why I didn't go with all of one brand or the other. I think the 9600's are more available and cheaper nowadays.  They should have 128 MB of onboard memory. Here's a 9600 for $13 bucks. This will only work on the CMT. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ATI-Radeon-9600-SE-128M-Video-Graphics-Card-AGP-102-A03509-10-DVI-VGA-S-VIDEO-/321613165179?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item4ae1a3727b If you have the SFF you will need to find a low profile model with low profile mounting brackets.

Check if your power plan is on Power Saver by going to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Power Options>Then click on the arrow on the right side of the ''Show Additional Plans''. When it is enabled, choose either Balanced or High Performance Mode(Warning: Battery Life may become shorter on this plan.).

Hi everybody! I registered in order to get some help with this since Im unable to solve this issue by myself

So I installed w7 32bit a couple of days ago and I have tried to install the drivers for my NVIDIA 8600 GTS ever since without success. I downloaded several versions from nvidia and none of them work.
The weird thing is is that according to device manager I've an ATI X1200 installed. I tried uninstalling it and installing nvidia drivers but it still doesn't work.

Im clueless, since I have no experience in solving problems with my graphic card. So, if anybody got some tips and things for me to try, I'd be grateful.

A:Help w7 detects ATI instead of Nvidia graphic card

Hi and welcome,

Right click on it in device manager. Properties. Details tab. Change dropdown to hardware ids. Copy and paste results here and please do not use a screenshot as alternative. We'll see for sure what you have.

The ATI X1200 is onboard video. You want to disable onboard vga in the bios and make sure your monitor is plugged into the add on card. Then install the NVIDIA driver.

But ya...lets see the hardware id strings too.

I recently installed a Nvidia 6200 graphic card that I had in another computer. After I installed the card and
driver the computer began to have problems. It took forever for Windows 7 to load. The "welcome" page
would be on for several minutes be fore the desktop came up. Windows 7 freezes and the screen would go
black for several minutes then all would be back to normal. The computer I installed was very similar to my old computer running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with no problem. Is there anything I can do besides uninstalling the Nvidia 6200 card?

A:Nvidia 6200 graphic card

Make sure you clean out all the old cards drivers and install the latest for the Nvidia

Over the past week I have had my graphics card crash several times while gaming.I get the message Display driver stopped responding and has recovered". I'm running windows 10 and when I open precision x 16 I noticed that my GPU Clock is always at 979MHZ which doesn't seem right when i'm just on the internet, but it does go up while gaming. Everything is up to date, maybe the driver is going bad? Here's a link to the picture showing precision x. http://postimg.org/image/5z0d5ogfd/

The hardware/gaming experts here can help you better if you provide a description(brand name, model number, wattage, speed, etc.) of the following:
Power supply

If that's a factory-brand computer and not a custom/home-built one, also provide its brand name and model name and model number.
