I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: How I print Custom Paper and Custom Margin

Your paper size is called 8.5x13in.
Go to Page Layout tab - Size and scroll down to 8.5x13in and select it (see first screenshot attached).

Then on the same tab go to Margins and click Custom margins (see second screenshot attached). In the new window change margins to desired size.

Back again. *sighs*

I've got a tough one for you this time. Well, maybe.

I need to create a custom paper size for an Epson LQ-590 dotmatrix printer. Currently running Windows XP Pro, and got the latest printer driver from Epson today.

I've gone into the "Printers and Fax" window, opened the "Server Properties" window in the "File" drop down menu. In the "Forms" tab, I've created and saved the paper size I need.

I go back to the "Properties" for my Epson, get to the "advanced printing preferences" and open the dropdown menu for paper size....and my form is not there.

What the heck am I doing wrong? This is the same procedure I used for my previous printer (OkiData Microline) and everything was cool.

I suddenly don't like Epson.

I have an HP Officejet 6700 Premium printer and I'm trying to print a custom size sheet. Specifically a sheet that is 6" wide by 9" long. Does anyone know how to do that? I'm printing wirelessly.

On my old Officejet 6310 which was a USB printer, I could trick it into thinking it was an HP Photosmart 3300 and then specify any custom size.

Hi fellow members,

I'm facing a problem about my printer under Windows 8.1. I cannot create custom paper size.

My previous printer is a HP P2035 printer. According to HP, the driver is built into Windows 8.1 and thus does not offer any driver for w8.1. The printer is detected correctly and I'm able to print, except I cannot create a custom paper size.

I raised this issue on the HP forum and a couple of members explained that the printer is pretty old and thus there is no incentive for Microsoft nor HP to develop a driver for Windows 8.1

Then I change to Fuji Xerox DocuPrint p355db. Again this printer is able to print just fine by Windows 8.1 built in driver, except the driver just won't allow me to create a custom paper size!

Help please.

Ok.. I'm just throwing this out here...it's darn late hihi

I have written a 'program' (script), which will automate a recovery system for windows 7, full with a working bootmanager, (custom) partitioning, ramdisks, custom environment (winre/pe), and backup imaging , all legal and licensed according to microsoft as long as its not distributed (aka single computer [home] end user).

I decided after hourrrrssss and weeeks of reading, researching, testing, failing, testing again, reading again, installing F amounts of programs, running sysprep, MDT2010, WAIK, dism, imagex, winpe, winre, bootsect, bcdedit, you name it, I came to the conclusion.. I gotta write something up for the other poor souls around out there.

I'm not going into more details now, but I was thinking of writing this up in c++ or so and asking for donations, which will entitle support in the odd event it would not* work in your case.

However, to just test it all that it works, I wrote it in scripts (batch and vbs) which I realize now I never shall do again :P (more an OOP man myself)

I write programs normally so dealing with exceptions extensively in batch is just .... well about as time consuming as 20 % of the time I spent on R&D on all this.

Anyway, I am wondering, given I always been used to the share way, if there are people who actually are willing to donate 5 bucks or so, on a script which would take about 2 hours max to execute to set up a total personal home recovery partition system. This me... Read more

A:Easy Custom image + custom recovery OEM like system?

OKi.. update. I see now more how this program will work. shame its all working fine with .hta, .vbs and .bat.
ANyway, a full gui app will be present in windows 7 and lets a person set up all his wishes and desires for how he wishes ot have his recovery partitions system set up, incl. the option of other partitions to include in this.

When everything is done, a mikepe disk is created (a custom recovery disk which inclues a wimpe native application of this program ) which will run the precompiled settings from win 7 and will rebuild the partitions, all ready to go. It will also link this system to one single computer only (due to licensing issues and piracy protection.. I'm guessing the latter is easily hacked lol). Anyway, after that, it's all just some hours of installoing, setting up, and voila off to go.

A base windows 7 installation (no extra programs), will create a recovery partition of ~ 3 GB and will be redeploiyed all set to go with your own old account and password in less than 5 minutes.

If you add all your own programs etc, the rebuild can take up to 1 hour.

Still much faster than installing windows, changing all your settings, creating yoru account, installing all those programs... etc.

Will also I think add several boot options, as to recover damaged boot loaders, including support for adding boot entries and back up of linux, vista, xp any OS partitions. You will also be able to give the boot entries any name u fancy like:

I have an Epson LQ 300+ dot matrix printer network shared from a Windows XP machine.
I use a specific custom print size (W: 21.6, H: 13.95). I have a Windows 7 machine
that uses this printer. I have added the custom print size to the Windows 7 list of
print sizes.

When I print from the Windows XP machine, it prints ok.

However, when I print it from the Windows 7 machine, it prints the stuff but form feeds
as if it was set to print to an A4 page size.

I've deleted the printer and re-added it on the Windows 7 machine and I've set the
print size to use the specific custom print size; but it still acts as if it's printing A4.

Can someone shed some light as to what's going on?

Hey folks

Have just tried several search terms to try to find
a previous thread related to my question to no avail, so
aplogies if there is already an answer up for this one and if
someone knows and could post the link to save time then thankyou
in advance.

I needed to print a specified range from a MS Office 2010
document today with much frustration. I searched several forums
for an answer and many seem to have been having the same problem
with Office 2010.

Here is what I tried to print only the pages I required:

S3,P16-S3,P21 - this one printed, however it printed the whole of section 3.
Please note that Section 3 actually started at page 11 so what was actually printed was pages 11 -21 being the end of the document. Also note that this section was a lanscape orintated section.

Considering that I am using an inkjet and the cartridges are around $18 each for my model of printer, I was wondering if anyone could clearly explain how to print only the pages I require?

Thanking you.

A:Print Custom Range- MS Office 2010

Using a comma ends the current term and starts the next term so S3,P16-S3,P21 would try to print S3 then P16-S3 (which would probably generate an error hence no further pages printed) and then print P21.

Of course you can always Highlight the text you want (since in this case it's all in one block) then print selection.

But s3p16-s3p21 should have worked for you, I dont know why it did not.

I am trying to print a Word 2000 document that has a number of connecting text boxes (a family tree), which makes the document wider than a standard sheet of paper. (it would end up being the width of two pieces of paper side by side in a landscape formation.) Initially, to accomplish this, I went to Page Setup; under paper size, I chose "custom" and selected 22" wide by 8.5" high. Below that under Orientation, I chose Landscape.

The document is finished now and looks just right. The only thing is I can't figure out how to print it. It either prints out microscopic or if it is normal size, it only prints the part that fits on a normal size of paper. It leaves the entire right half of the document out.

What could be the solution? Thanks.

A:How do you print custom size word 2000 documents

I also chose "custom" and selected 22" wide by 8.5" high. Then I downloaded this http://postersw.com/ & tested it a little (copied & pasted from Word). It seemed to stretch graphics vertically, but maybe you could play around with it.

Hi all,

I've been trying to find a way to add my own icons to libraries that I make. I have tried navigating to:

And after right clicking the Library I made, I don't get an option to change the icon. Is there any way to do this? It would just be easier to tell the difference between user-created libraries if the icons could be changed, instead of only using the one default icon provided.

I've tried searching through the tutorials section, and looked through the first five pages or so of results that came up from a search here on the forums, and haven't been able to find the info I'm looking for.

Thanks for any help!

I'm currently working on a OKI B6500 for a local sports club.

The issue is: They regularly print score cards for the patrons
of the sports club from two different OKI printers, which are

set up to two different Computers. The B6500 is a newer model

than the other one, but some some reason, the older one prints

them fine, and the b6500 cuts the tops off each page, and

prints a second page with a single line.
The dimensions for the paper are 145 x 290.
I've tried different trays, checked all the settings within the

computer. Both printers/computers have the EXACT same

settings. The issue is very consistant, despite the changing

of the trays. Speaking to OKI support yielded no real results.
I'm really unsure as where to go from here, what am i missing?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

The difference being that with teh elipsis, the choice of printer is provided where as the "Print" version just send the report to print. Grrr.

I'm using WORD XP under Windows XP Home. Recently, when I start to print a document, I sometimes get an error message saying the area to be printed is outside the printable margins. It looks fine on the print preview but when I print it, the text is shifted about 2" to the right from the left margin and does run off the page on the right. My wife found that turning off the "Allow A4/Letter Paper Resizing" option resolved the problem temporarily. After a few days it reappeared, at which time I found that turning the option back on fixed it. Apparently toggling this option fixes the problem temporarily. There may be other options that would work also since this particular one doesn't seem to be related directly to the margins.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

A:WORD XP Print Margin Problem

You say the problem was fixed temporarily by toggling "Allow A4/Letter Paper Resizing". Does this mean the same Word document's margins suddenly changed, or was it 2 different documents?

If it is occurring with different documents, it sounds as though some were created and saved on A4 size (21cm x 29.7cm the standard paper size for UK) and some in Letter size (I think the standard size for USA = 21.59cm x 27.94cm).
The reason for this could be that you are viewing some documents originating from different countries. Alternatively, as Microsoft is a US company, I think the default paper size is "Letter" - even if you're in the UK.

The size differences may account for the margin shift.

Hello everyone,

PLEASE help!

About 50% of the time, when printing Word 2007 documents with comments added in bubbles in the margin, the comment bubbles fail to print EVEN WHEN I have "print with markup" selected in the print dialog.

The grey area on which the bubbles should print is printed, but the comment isn't; instead the commentator's initials are printed inline.

I thought it was the printer, but it also happens when printing to pdf or saving to pdf.

I thought at one point it was that most my documents are, though I use Word 2007, in Word 97-2003 format. But the same problem has just occurred with a Word 2007 document.

Turning my machine off and on again *seems* to help, *usually*.

Hello:I am running Windows 2000 pro, with all service packs installed, including the final service pack that was issued in place of the service pack 5 that was canceled. The problem is fairly easy to describe:- I open WordPad, type a single space, then use the File pull-down menu to print a blank piece of paper.- The Print dialog box, pages entry has 1-65535 in it. If I go ahead and click on the Print button, I would need more than 13 cases of paper for the job to complete! This is a new phenomenon, as I have used this technique for quite some time to ensure proper connection to the printer and that other programs will be likely to print correctly and never have had the printer spit-out more than one sheet of paper.I can highlight the "1-65535" value and delete it, which will allow me to print the one blank page I want, but I shouldn't have to do that extra step (and the print dialogue box should not show anything in the "pages" box). I would like to know if perhaps something in the configuration files for WordPad causes this to happen and, if so, what it is, where it is, and how can I change it to get things back to normal.I did run Avast!, Spybot, SuperAntoSpyware, and the free Trend Micro scan to see if there might be some malware that contributes to the problem. I'm using a Toshiba Satellite laptop running Windows Vista. I have also been successfully using an HP Photosmart B209a "all in one" printer with a wireless connection. I began getting low ink messages, so installed new HP cartridges. When I try to align the new cartridges, I get a message that says the alignment failed, but I can still use the printer. However, when I try to print any document I have generated on my computer, the printer picks up the paper and goes through the machinations of printing, but when it spits out the paper, it is blank. When I print a test page, it works. When I print a page from a website, it works. It will copy a document. It simply won't print anything I generate using my word processor or spreadsheet (I use Microsoft Works).

HP's Monitor program says that the computer is ready.

I have used HP Solutions Center, but nothing it suggests has made any difference. I have checked my wireless connection and it is working, obviously, or the printer wouldn't be getting the message to print, as it surely is, since it starts, picks up the paper and goes through the whole process of printing. However, nothing comes out except a blank piece of paper.

Hope you can help.

Every time I try to print anything, my WF-2530 feeds a sheet through and reports paper out. The unit has seen little use and has never had a paper jam. It simply does not detect that there is paper loaded.

I have tried resetting the unit, powering off then on, disconnecting and reconnecting the power cord. Nothing causes it to recognize that paper is loaded after it feeds the first sheet through. Press the 'OK' button and it will feed another sheet and continue to report 'paper out'.

A:Trying to print light fonts on black paper

To get even a light gray text you would have to use black ink on white paper. The "color" white is actually the complete absence of any color at all, so most consumer printers have to turn of all the color cartridges and rely on the paper to produce the "white".

You could buy a printer that uses actual white ink, but I bet they're expensive!

But at $276.99 for just the cartridge you might want to consider a white crayon...:-)

Important: Windows 8.1 full version is for Windows 7 users only. Currently running Windows Vista or XP? First upgrade to Windows 8. Upon installation you can update to 8.1 for free.

, which makes it sound like you NEED win 7 to get 8.1 for this price. Can I use this with my custom box with no prebuilt OS?

Clear as mud huh? The way I read it is, if you are running XP or Vista and want to do an "upgrade install", you'll have to upgrade to 8.0 first. Then do the free upgrade to 8.1 though the store. Windows 8.1 will not let you do an upgrade install from XP or Vista, only 7 or 8.0. It states >Windows 8 upgrade is for Windows Vista or XP users. Upon installation you can install the free 8.1 update available through the Windows Store.

If you are buying the full Retail version and not doing an upgrade install you can ignore all that. A full Retail version will let you clean install on your new hardware. Assuming the hardware is compatible that is.

Hello all,

I recently bought a new computer and had it custom made to what i wanted it to be. I have a few questions about it though.

First off i will tell you what it is.
It is made up of the following hardware:

Mobo - Asus m3a76-cm pci-ex 1gb lan
Processor - AMD Athlon II x2 215 2.7ghz dual core 45nm, AM3 2mb Cache
Cooling - Spire Kestrel-King II AMD 64 fan
Ram - 3gb (3x1gb) ddr2 pc5300 667 dual channel
Graphics - GeForce 9400GT 1gb PCI express 16x dual head, tv out
optical drive - 22x Lite On DVD +-RW dual layer
Case - Cooler Master Elite 310 with side window and front usb
power supply - Logysis 480w ATX power supply

OK so here are my questions:

1. What are your overall thoughts of this system?
2. Can i overclock it and if so how much while still being stable?
3. With the fan i got do you know how cold it will be?
4. What the heck is dual layer?
5. Will the 480w power supply be enough for all this?
6. In the picture i chose this case because it looked good, was cheap and it had lights. Will it come with the lights or do i have to add them?

I ordered it online and it has not yet come
Thanks for the help, and all suggestions, comments, and questions are welcome.

The power supply will handle that system, although i don't know anything about Logysis PSU's. You should be able to get 700Mhz to 1Ghz OC from that CPU with ample cooling. Dual layer is a technology that lets you burn data to two layers of the DVD that sit atop one another. Different light wavelengths reach the upper layer (and 'burn') data, than do the lower data layer...(thats the very short version)
as far as the "what do you think?" question, i guess that depends on what you paid, and what its intended use is. It is not going to be much of a gaming machine with that GPU. but other than that it really goes back to what you are expecting it to do.

I was wondering is there a easier way to make my own custom win xp cd or dvd with all my software included(installs by itself), so i dont have to be reinstalling everytime. Are there any good guides around on the net for doing this. I found a few, seemed a bit confusing.
