Preferred Solution: Whats the average Temperature for a geforce 9600 gt?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Whats the average Temperature for a geforce 9600 gt?

i was not aware that ''speedfan'' would detect GPU temperature..??

the highest you want to take any GFX card for 24/7 use is about 75-80c, it will do 90c for short bursts, but anything under 80c is fine for load....

if your card is @ 45c idle then im guessing load wont be that high, so there's a little OCing room there, but the increase in performance is going to be very small, on a card like that you wont even notice a difference in the real world IMO...

hi ppl,
well,i got a system with the belowmentioned stats in my possession.....

P4 1.6 ghz
256mb DDR 333(however the mobo bus speed is only 200mhz so thats the max speed at which the ddr will run......
32mb onboard graphics S3 prosavage
mobo ECS make,VIA chipset,120 GB maxtor.....

rite,so i got them 2 cards in sight and am wondering if the 9800 pro will be a bottle neck for my system.......
i got a 9600 pro powercolor and it said on the pack... 400/400 memory/core speeds......well and i tried doing the 3d mark test and it returned the system specifications as ati R9600 series 200/400 mem/core......can anyone throw lite on this.....i'm uninitiated in this field but why this discrepancy...

now am wondering if i got swindled...is there any way i cud chk tht this is R9600 PRO.......and i cud definitely go for the 9800 pro dragon but will tht bottle neck my system.......makes no sense puttin a high end card into a low end system ,aye?

if i cud get a reply asap i wud be more than grateful......

A:firebreathing 9800 pro vs average joe 9600 pro.......

Thay must have gave you the wrong clocks, stores can be wrong, it's best to look at manufacturer's web sites for specs. 400mhz is way too high for a 9600's memory, 200 is just right. 400 core clock real is good. My 9600 All in Wonder is 200 mem/350 core, but I OC it with RivaTurner to 250 mem/380 core. Overclocking helps the 3d mark scores. Even with a 3.8ghz P4 I can only score around 2000 points in 3dmark05.

Hello all!

Some of you may know me. Like my software and WinSxS (I love the way WinSxS all fits together!) but am utterly clueless about the hardware. Please forgive me this question!

I have a DESKTOP PC which is NOT overclocked in any way. It is reasonably powerful (see specs) and is a Dell. However, it is used to the extremes of its ability - regularly.

I would just like to ask you what the temperatures you would consider good, warm, and hot for both the GPU and CPU. I know the GPU can get quite hot, but I would please like to know how hot, so that I can learn.

I have a feeling that mine are quite hot. Most of the time I get:

CPU: 52 degrees Centigrade (C)
GPU: 128 C

These seem awfully hot. Putting my hand on the GPU plastic casing after use makes me think that these are not anomalous!

Thanks so much in advance!

EDIT: All of the fans have been confirmed as working, and it has good airflow all around, and always has had.

A:At what temperature does an average CPU and GPU become too hot?

Hello Richard, I am not really knowledgeable in this area & can only reflect on my own research so that i can monitor my own temps which basically indicates 70 degrees C and below in both cases as being comfortable temps.

In posts i have read concern is usually expressed in 80c+, your CPU looks fine mine runs at 50-65 & max 72c under heavy load. I use Core temp to monitor which also has overheat protection

The tjmax is the CPU manufacturers max temp (assume critical) & safe temps to be 15c-20c below this.

As far as your GPU it looks extremely hot but i do not have a solution for you other than cleaning & extra cooling which i am sure you are already aware of. (my desktop has settings in the BIOS for the fan)

If so, any suggestion?
Thank you for answering.

First off, what Intel CPU do you have (sorry, I can't tell what cpu it takes from looking at the model # like some members :unch: )? In some cases this is normal, and in some this isn't. You board temp is fine overall, I just wonder about the cpu.

Hi everyone,I want to ask yoga 910 owners what is their average CPU temperature? As for me, my laptop is very hot guy, when I do nothing - like now while writing this text with 10 open tabs and almost nothing in background, CPU has t=55C, with  10-15 CPU load. But in my daily work I open Word, Excel, some specific programs, 20+ tabs in firefox and sometimes listenning to music. In this situation CPU load doesn't very high - 40%-50% in general, but temperature rises to 60-70C and could be 90+ in peak. Is it normal? My previous Asus wasn't so hot.PS. I have i7 version with FHD monitor, latest bios in "balance mode" and "better perfomance" in Windows power mode.

Hi. I am trying to find out what an average temperature for a Intel Pentium 4 Processor should be. According to Everest Pro My Motherboard (Intel Bonanza) 35?C (95?F) and the CPU 45 ?C (113 ?F), but when I encode video or run a scan my CPU goes to about 52?C (125?F) . I am not sure if this is normal or not. Any info will be appreciated?

I own an A8-5500 and its average temperature is 60 - 65 Centigrades, and sometimes, when im playing games (For example: Bioshock Infinite), the game crashes... and both the GPU (Nvidia 9800GT) and the CPU get really hot.

What should i do to fix the temperature problem if it actually is a problem?

A:Is 65C a good average temperature for a CPU?

Do you mean that the CPU is above 60C at idle? That seems hot.

Does the CPU heatsink get hot? It should. If not, it may be in poor thermal contact with the CPU. One thing to try would be reseating the heatsink, after replacing the thermal compound.

I just bought an MSI motherboard with an onboard ATI graphics.
Everything has been installed from my MSI Driver CD/DVD.
Im about to install my GeForce 9600 GT graphic card but
i've read few info about some problems about this in forums and im really
worried about what will happen so I posted here for me to avoid those problems.

Most advices are:
-Uninstall all ATI related Drivers
-Use driver sweeper to completely erase left drivers on the system
-Uninstall ATI Graphic Driver, Restart, install GeForce and install Drivers

My idea is:
I will format my Hard Drive and dont install ATI drivers
But my concern is, on my Mainboard Driver DVD
Only CHIPSET, AUDIO & LAN drivers are available to install
And if I will install CHIPSET, it will include all ATI stuff including on-board graphic

My mind is really in chaos right now. If im deciding right or wrong?,
Will you guyz HELP me about this and give me the best idea on what to do?!

A:[HELP] Installing my GeForce 9600 GT

You should have no problems installing the device over your current ati setup(Since this ati driver should not be handling the pciE slot.)... I don't see the need in formating as a whole. . You might also want to install the latest DirectX you can find. Download your latest card drivers as well and don't use the product cd drivers.

Are you removing an older card or not?

And remember to touch the metal casing before working with your card, static can surely cut your journey short.

Hope this helps.

And welcome to the forums.

Is it really worth buying the 9600 video cards, or should I just wait to buy the 10 series video cards whenever they may come out. I am not in a rush to buy one, I dont really have much to do with it.

What else can i do besides play games with an extreme video card? 3ds max, or video codding, I use [email protected] to contribute my idle cpu, is there a way to contribute idle video card usage?

I have a hans-G 19" and will buy a Samsung 19" soon for dual screen.

I have a 7900GTO which has dual dvi ports
I am heading in UWaterloo to do computer sciences, anything that you recommend i begin in study or practice? And that may give a reason to buy a powerful pc?

A:geforce 9600 or the 10 series?

I take it that you don't play GFX demanding computer games.. :P (a 7900GTO is a pretty weak contender isn't it? Or are my standards way too high?).

To answer your question, wait till the 9800 series comes out. Compared to the 9600GT (as beautiful as it is), is going to be blown away by the 9800, like the 8600GT is completely obliterated by the 8800GT.

I'm no expert, but having a rather powerful computer does have its advantages, in the long term (and perhaps in computer science). I'd keep money on the processor and memory for now, if games aren't the necessity right now. But if you do find out whats best, tell me as I'm also planning to go into computer science in uni (2 more years!!)

ok, so here is the quick question on my custom build i have one Gefoce 9600GT 1GB, i have read great potetial for this card especially in sli. So i was thinkin of buyin another one and makin a nice sli, they only go for $200 so its not bad. However did see a Geforce 9800 GTX 512MB for the same price and if im not wrong (correct me if i am) they are better than the Geforce 9600 and its a given fact. But is a worth for me to buy a 9800 then get another one and i already have a 9600 and all i need to do is buy one more and im good.

My current custom:

MOBO: EVGA 780i Sli
CPU: Intel Q6700 2.66Ghz
RAM: OZC 2GB Sli Ready Memory
PSU: Ultra X-Pro750 Watts Sli Ready
Chassis: NZXT Lexa Blackline Red

Too bad i cant have a good internal water cooling setup, i think my chassis is too small, is a Mid-Case but big but i doubt for a internal cooling.

I installed the RC 64 bit with no problems onto my ASUS M50Vm with 4GB DDR2, 2.53 dual core, 320 GB HD, nVidia GeForce 9600 GS. However, it doesn't seem to think my graphics card exists. I tried to update drivers, but it won't let you update drivers for a device you don't have. I went into device manager and the card is not under display adapters. So i thought maybe it's in the unknown section. Not there either. Just to be sure I went back into Vista and checked which PCI slot the card is in, and went back in to the RC and nothing in the device manager is in that slot. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello everyone,

First time poster, having an issue I couldn't solve through your search function or google.

I have a XFX GeForce 9600 GSO 768mb PCI-E card. I have had it for 3 months now, running great on my machine. I have an Ultra 500 watt PSU.

Today while browsing the web my computer shut down as if I pulled the cord out of the wall, I was unsure of the problems and after 4 hours of physical inspection and trying everything possible I have come to the conclusion that the video card mentioned is the problem.

System will not even power on if the card is connected to the PSU through the 6 pin connector. I've replaced the PSU, replaced my Power Button (thought these were the problems first) and nothing is responding with my graphics card plugged into the PSU.

The computer runs fine with Onboard video on and I don't have another video card to test the slot. Kinda on a low low budget atm too.

Things only 3 months old and was running like a champ, so I am confused. Any help on this would be great!

Thank you,

I have Windows XP Professions
AM2 2.61 Dual Core / 2 GB memory (checked and they are running fine)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Reiterating the PSU has been checked and does work.

A:Geforce 9600 GSO PSU issue

From your description and diagnostics it certainly does sound like a defective video card.

One caution here, your onboard video requires a lot less power than the 9600GT. So the PSU powering the system with onboard graphics, doesn't necessarily guaranty it will still power it with the card installed.

BTW, the brand of your PSU doesn't really ring a bell, it might not actually meet spec. Although there's no telling whether it doesn't meet spec enough to cause problems with a 9600GT, which should run easily on a decent 400 watt PSU.

I guess the best thing to do is try to find a video card to test in the slot. That would eliminate the PCI-E controller as a possibility. It seems prudent making the extra effort to take this step. Your video card is well within warranty, but what would happen if you sent back a good one? Best guess/worse case, it gets sent right back, and you get hit up for the shipping both ways.

Isn't that normal? I have 9800GT, and every time I boot up the PC the fan speed is wild until I almost get to the logon screen, then the speed slows down and everything's fine. This also happens when installing a new OS. I don't think this really is a problem. I'm no expert in hardware, but from my experience, it seems that the card needs a bigger fan speed before Windows loads the graphics drivers and prepares the card for use, along with management of the fan...

I've had my system for about 4 years (haha as you can tell by my graphics card) and I have had no problems, I could run all games up to Crysis 2 on maxed out settings (though Crysis 2 was slow at times). About a week ago I upgraded from 2 giges of ram to 4 giges and from windows xp to windows 7 64bit. Yesterday while I was making dinner my power supply (Antec BP500U) seemed to have died, when i walked in i heard a flickering, crackling noise coming from the power supply and the computer seemed to to have limited power flowing through it as the fans were all running very slowly and the computer was not able to boot at all. I pulled apart the psu and it was full of dust, I also tried to locate the source of the noise once its cover was off, it wasnt the fan it was coming from either the yellow thing in the middle of the first picture of the site below (the site didnt let me use there insert there picture), or the silver bar thing under it.

I don't really know if this was a result of adding new ram, installing windows 7, or simply a coincidence. Installed my card, made sure it was all the way seated, but didn't plug in the power supply because I need an adaptor. So Question 1. is the power just for the fan ON the card, or for the fan AND the card?

I turned back on my computer and it put out this loud constant beeping sound and nothing showed up on the screen. In the manual for the GeForce under Quick Fixes it says:
"Problem: At boot-up, all you hear is a series of beeps from the computer but see no screen at all.

Cause: The beep sounds are warning sound from the motherboard BIOS that says that it cannon initialize the video card. This can mean on of three things:
1. The card is not seated correctly. Well I made sure it was seated
2. There is a problem with the motherboard's video card slot. It's a brand new computer, I don't think the motherboard is crap already.
3. There is a problem with the video card. Well its a brand new card too, so I don't think it's that either.

Solution: Remove the card from the computer and reinsert it, making sure that the card is seated properly in the slot. Then try to boot the computer again. If this does tnot work, then the problem is either with the motherboard or the video card and you should contact your hardware manufacturer.

So Question 2 arises: What could the problem... Read more

A:eVGA GeForce 9600 GSO Problem

It needs that power connection, usually there is a cable that comes with that card that you can attach one end (2x 4 pins) to the PSU and the other 6-pin to the graphic card.

It might just need that power.

If it still doesn't work, even if you think it is seated perfect take it out and put it back in.

You know it seems unlikely but I just bought a 9600 GT yesterday and put it in. I had the exact same problem. Power was connected, it was in just fine and yet no signal.

I took it out and made sure there was no dust and that it was in there correctly when I put it back in and It is working fine for me now.

Hey guys, this is my first post! *does a first-post dance*

I've been playing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on this computer for the past month or so on really low settings.

This Computer = HP Pavilion a1330n
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3800+
2.39 GHz (performance rated at 3.8 GHz)
1.00 GB of RAM
ATi Radeon XPRESS 200 (Standard integrated Intel crap)
200+ GB Free Space

First things first, I know that the integrated graphics are extremely sub-standard. The only reason I mention them is because Oblivion actually ran through them for extended periods of time without crashing, albeit slowly.

I ran a CAN YOU RUN IT? scan online and they told me that everything about my PC was golden, except for my graphics card. My integrated graphics had all the required pixel/vertex shaders, etc. etc., but was not of the recommended calibur... I thought on it for a while and decided to invest in a PNY nVidia GeForce 9600 GT (512 MB GDDR3) graphics card. I brought it home, installed it exactly as the instruction manual described and seemingly had everything up and running smoothly. I tested out Oblivion and was blown away! I was able to load it on maximum graphical settings with no stuttering. I did not play for any length of time, because at that moment I had things to do. So, satisfied, I closed the game and didn't come back to it until today. Since then I uninstalled my graphics drivers and installed the latest drivers (v.175.19). The game started giving me strange proble... Read more

Where is my mistake? Whats wrong? Please help.
P.S. It allright if monitor connected to mobo graphic card.

A:Nvidia Geforce 9600+ 1GB issue!!! Please help.

You may need to go into the BIOS setup and set it to boot with your pcie slot. If you have your motherboard manual it may be some help.
Look at disabling on-board graphic.

? just changed my video card. I could take sound from my ex-card with hdmi cable to my lcd tv. But with this new card i cant. How can i fix this. My new video card is "palit geforce 9600 super+ 1gb". And i plug yo audio cable from my motherboard to video card.

A:I have GeForce 9600 GT 1GB but i cant take sound with HDMI cable

Right next the SLI connector on the card you should see a small white 2 pin socket.
With the card you should also have a small cable (S/PDIF) with the corresponding white plug at one end. That fits into the white socket and the other end which has two single black pins attaches to the S/PDIF out header on your motherboard.
Once this connected up you will have sound over HDMI.

On this page http://tech.icrontic.com/articles//palit-9600gt-hd3850/2/ , the cable is shown (along with the other accessories) in picture 2 -the thin cable on the left.

First, here are my specs:

Board: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. GA-M55SLI-S4
Processor: 2.00 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
256 kilobyte primary memory cache
512 kilobyte secondary memory cache
64-bit ready

OLD memory card: NVIDIA Geforce 7600 GT, it worked, but color was distorted (happened a few months after I installed it) and so I finally got aroudn to purchasing this new video card.

NEW card: XFX PV-T96O-ODF GeForce 9600 GSO 1.5GB 192-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

it won't let me post links because I don't have five posts or greater, but you can search the exact same card at newegg, I got it, but it is a "recertified" card, would that mean anything?

I get it home, my old card used just a VGA plug in to my monitor, and the new card is only DVI, so I had to go out and buy a VGA to DCI adapter, which I did.

Now, however, I get everything plugged in. I turn on the PC, and, NOTHING. Black screen, monitor is on but nothing shows up. Fans are running on the video card, it's in tight. Absolutely nothing.

So next, I plug my old card back in. It works like before... Hmm.

Put the new one in, nothing, again.

So, I played around with the VGA/DVI adapter (since my old card has a VGA slot and a DVI slot), I put the monitor with the adapter into the old card, and, with the adapter it started working for a minute, and then went black, I wiggled it around a bit, nothing. So I unplug the ada... Read more

Hello, I'm looking into buying a Geforce 9600 in the next few days. However, I've heard somethings regarding this new card from Nvidia. People have reported black screen crashes while running this card. I'm wondering if anyone has more information on this issue, such as, how widespread is the problem, and is it fixable?

As always, any response is greatly appreciated, thanks.

A:Geforce 9600 Black Screen Crashes?

If I were you (and I have done this): I would go to the Nvidia website and pose these questions. Also find another forum that has a question and answer section regarding new graphics processors. Beyond that.....you may want to find out for yourself & see how this model works on your machine. Be thorough about keeping all receipts: and ask at the dealer that you buy from, how they handle returns (in case it does not work) It will probably work out fine. Good Luck.

I recently bought a new Geforce 9600GT. i have a asus P5RD1-VM motherboard, which has a ATI express onboard graphics card. so i uninstalled the ati drivers, went to the BIOS and looked to disable to the onboard graphics card. i couldnt find an option to altogether disable it, but i found an option to set PCI as priority, so i did that. then i connected the gfx card.
now when i run my pc, it starts properly, shows the name of the card at the startup and everything. but when i try installing drivers for the card, it gives an error saying the driver could not find any compatible hardware. i tried different version drivers, but still the same problem.
i also tried a modified nv4_disp.inf file, and the have disk method, but that isnt working either. i tried cleaning old drivers using driver sweep, but it is not helping.
in the device manager, there is a yellow exclamation mark against PCI to PCI express bridge.
the same problem with both xp as well as vista (dual boot).
is it a problem with the motherboard? will changing it work? i think the card is okay bcos the system does recognise it at startup.
please help me out with this...
thank you!

My system is as follows,

Windows 7 64bit
Gigabyte M720-US3
Phenom 2 945
2gb corsair XMS2 DDR2 800mhz
Display driver 195.62

I'm getting really bad graphics performance. I lost like 10 FPS on RE5 benchmark versus windows XP 32bit. On Left 4 dead 2 my average FPS is around 35-45, and even lower if I turn shader quality up to maximum (which the game recommends)

On my old system (AMD 3800 X2 Win XP) I never got any slow down on L4D 1 and there isn't much difference between the 2 games graphically.

I ran SiSoft Sandra GPU benchmarks and my GT 9600 scored quite a bit lower then the reference cards.

My memory and CPU clock are both at stock.

Is this a driver problem? What can I do to improve things, please?

A:Help. Geforce 9600 GT Win7 = terrible performance.

When I try to play an FPS such as Call Of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare I can only play about 5 minutes of the 1st mission and then it freezes. The computer becomes TOTALLY unresponsive. I have looked into the event viewer before and it says that Mozilla Firefox had a fault and closed. FIREFOX WAS NEVER OPEN. So I tried uninstalling and it still said the same error. So I then reinstalled the entire Operating System (Windows XP Pro SP2) without Mozilla Firefox. Game still freezes and becomes unresponsive as well as windows. I have the latest Direct X 9.0 August 2008 version. I have been using the Y-adapter for my graphics card (Using 2 Molex connectors and converts that into a single PCI-Express power connector) )and maybe this is the issue? I don`t have the money to go out and buy a power supply. PLEASE HELP! Also, RTS games run fine.

Heres my current PC Info:
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Black Edition
Motherboard: Asus M2N-E SLI Motherboard
RAM: 2 One Gig Kingston 800MHz
Power Supply: OKIA Aluminum Series 600Watt
Full ATX Case

A:XFX GeForce 9600 GT XXX Video Card Issues

Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your card. Your power supply should be fine for the 9600, so I wouldn't look at that unless you are getting BSODs. What other games have you tried? I know there are some issues with CoD4 and the latest nVidia cards. I would run a demo of 3DMark06 and see what happens. If you get through the entire bench without any problems then my guess would be the problem is software related and not your card. If you are still having problems afterward, try running Driver Cleaner Pro software and do a clean install of the latest nVidia display drivers.
