Explorer 8 cookie saves?

Q: Explorer 8 cookie saves?

Hi all,
I just upgraded to Windows 7 ultima and it has IE8 with it, when i had vista running (IE7) i could save the cookies for sites i visited all the time in the allow part of ccleaner, so every time i clicked hotmail, lets say, i would log straight in.

Now, i have done the same for IE8 except even though ccleaner has saved the cookies i have allowed, IE8 never remembers my log in details so i have to log in to about 8 different sites everytime i shut down/switch on.
Where do i set this option up in IE8 please ?

thanks so much for reading and for anyhelp.

Preferred Solution: Explorer 8 cookie saves?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Explorer 8 cookie saves?

Under internet options then under privacy then advance. Pretty much the same as prior IE. There are some new security features though. You need to read though what you want to use in IE8. Or just use Firefox or even test that out with what your doing. Make sure you got the latest Ccleaner. You may also want to try instead of Ccleaner is Fcleaner.

this is not a serious problem or anything, and in fact it rarely happens, but it's just really weird and annoying... what happens is that sometimes when i right-click a picture on a webpage and click "Save Picture As...", instead of saving the picture as a JPEG, it will only give me the option to save it as a BMP... yet when i right-click the image and go to "Propterties" i can see that the image is indeed a JPEG...

i have a feeling it has something to do with the URL of the webpage, becuase sometimes when i take the direct URL to the image, and put that in my address bar so that IE can display nothing but the image, and i click refersh, it will save it properly as a JPEG... but other times it still tries to save it as a BMP...

anyone ever heard of this before, or know what's cuasing it... and if so, does anyone know how to fix it?... i figured out a few tedious workarounds for this problem, but i was wondering if there was a way to fix this problem once and for all...

appreciate the help!

I'm running Win98 with IE 6. For the past week or so, when I log on to emusic.com the next page (after the login page) shows nothing but code. I cut and pasted it and sent it to their help person, and she said it looked like it's posting my cookie information to the page. She gave me a few things to try, such as, deleting my cookies, checking my security settings, etc. I tried everything she suggested, but it didn't fix the problem. The only change I've made that I can think might have started this was downloading the latest security patches from Microsoft's Windows Update page.

Here's part of what appears on the page:

Why do I have a cookie problem only when trying to log on to eBay? It keeps telling me that "this computer is not accepting cookies". This is the only site that does this. If I change my password and then try to log on - it accepts it! Are there any settings that I can change to solve this?

I determined the issue is caused by a cookie the website drops into IE Temporary Folder.
As I delete that cookie and the login screen again appears and they can login, but process repeats when they logout.
I searched the Internet and found the following batch file that will delete all cookies....
@echo off

How do I change it to just delete 1 Cookie?

I've got a problem.

I have XMarks so I can have it re-do my bookmarks no problem, so while I'd like to know where they are stored, it's not a necessity.

What I'd like to know is where FireFox saves things like the remembered links you've been too and such. You know when you click on a link and it turns a different color the next time you visit it. I'd like to find out where those are saved please. I'm assuming that it's a cookie somewhere, but assuming is the bad thing to do....so I ask.

A web site I visit often I keep track of where I have been by the different color links.

Can anybody help me with this??

Just a comment to let everyone know that I may have averted a virus today thanks to MailWasher, which was recommended by one of the TSG members awhile back, and which I have since recommended to others.

Because I can view all my email while it's still on the servers, I could see that a message was there with an attachment. This was a message from a total stranger, looks to be porn advertising. But I've never gotten porn email that included an attachment.

With MailWasher, not only was I able to avoid downloading it to my computer first, I could bounce it back to the sender (hehehe), and delete it off the server at the same time. Now when I download the rest of my email I can be reasonably sure it's virus-free.

Get MailWasher - it'll save a lot of headaches!

For better understanding it would be nice to see that macro, but let's try something else first.

If this macro downloads something, at some point it is using IE temporary files folder or/and Windows temp folder.

I have created a script that deletes mentioned temp files.
You can:

1. Place clean_temp.bat in your Startup folder in the Start menu. It will be started everytime with computer.
2. Run clean_temp.bat manually AS ADMINISTRATOR everytime before Excel start executing that macro.
3. Create a task(s) in Task Scheduler to run that script at desired time(s).

About an hour ago I got one of those really sick to my stomach feelings. I had just received three very important emails and a few minutes later I went back to look at them and outlook express wouldn't do anything. I tried reinstalling O.E., to no avail, so I figured I would have to delete dbx files to get this fixed. I somewhat regularly make backups of O.E. with O.E. Freebie Backup, so I thought I would try backing up my files before I deleted them. I did, and then was able to restore everything back to normal except for the Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items, and Deleted Items. Since I put all my messages into other folders once they are read, I didn't lose anything! I figured the program saved my tail so I owed it a little promotion.

Something happened to a friend's IE browser. When someone sends them a MS Word file and you try to save it, it gets saved with an asp extension. I can't seem to find out fix it.

A:IE saves files in a different format

Have a look at this page. Probably won't be much help though.

See if they can right click on the saved file and click rename and rename it back to the proper extension. And when they try and save the file see if they can change the extension first before saving it. Also have your friend and the person sending the Word files run a virus scan with updated definitions. They may not have a virus but you never know.

You can bring the avi file into Windows Movie Maker, find the frame that you want, and take a picture of it. There will be a little camera on the lower right hand corner of the viewer just click on it when you have found the frame you want. Save as jpeg and you are good to go.

I am trying to print colorful pics on semi glossy paper. I understand the settings that say draft, fine etc but when it says "paper type" like super glossy photo, ink jet or plane paper it doesn't make a visual difference but does one of these paper type settings save on ink? I will be using the same paper but does the glossy setting use more or less ink than the plain paper setting and so on?

A:What paper setting saves ink?

If you are using semi glossy, you really need to be off of draft. This is more for black and white or text, where fainter images dont matter. If you are just testing, use normal plain paper and set paper type to match. Generally, any treated paper will use more ink (only slightly) as the droplets need to be more precise.
Whichever type of paper you use, you do need to set it to that paper type. Using a different one changes the settings the printer uses, which means the quality will not be as it should be
